Cliff from Enochian Today https://enochiantoday.wordpress.com/ joins Luxa https://linktr.ee/LuxaStrata to discuss his work creating Enochian Mandalas and how they might or might not be related to Western Qabala, using one's training in the Enochian system to find inroads into other types of work, hypnosis, his updated Enochian Zodiacal tables, some encounters with the phenomenon he's had since starting his new magical project, and much more! Cliff and Luxa are both fascinated by numbers, so Luxa asks if Cliff feels that numbers have a personality, and the Prime numbers are discussed. There's also an update about The Green Mushroom Project https://greenmushroomproject.com/ and Void House- creating a consent forward magical space for conducting group work both in person and online, investigating the magical and alchemical properties of consent and providing consent education to magically inclined people. This week on the Vintage RPG Podcast, we're opening up the Arkham Investigator's Wallet, from the prop maestros at the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. It's a real leather wallet, stuffed with ‘20s-style IDs, paperwork, newspaper clippings, a trolley coin, a mysterious key and much more. The props tie directly with the scenario book The Dog Walker, which is included and can be run for a group or solo using a special PDF. Other items promise to be of use with Chaosium's forthcoming guidebook to Arkham for Call of Cthulhu. One of the most fun RPG products I've ever laid eyes on, full stop. In a repost of OWC's most controversial episode, John and Leanne spoke with Sean Branney and Andrew Leman of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society about the classic "art vs. artist" debate. There is no way this episode can sit 100% well with anybody, because... well... it's complicated. We talk Lovecraft, Joss Whedon, and an RPG too (you know the one). Tune in now and yell at your smart speaker!
It's episode 14 of Date Night In! This week Dave & Jess watch The Pale Blue Eye on Netflix and pair it with a peculiar brandy cocktail called "In Your Mouth with Madness". The movie is a gothic mystery on the campus of West Point where cadet Edgar Allan Poe helps a visiting constable investigate the murder of a fellow cadet. Jess described this movie as "meaty", but is that a good or a bad thing? This movie is far from comedic, so why do the hosts spend all episode laughing? Could it be the hats the cadets wear in the film?Highlights this week include Jess accidentally giving David an idea for a sequel to the slasher horror film Hostel, a suggestion of actors Christian Bale and Harry Melling engaging in a "bone off" (not as dirty as it sounds). The Lovecraftian Cocktails recipe book featured in this week's episode can be purchased from the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society here - https://store.hplhs.org/products/lovecraft-cocktails?_pos=1&_sid=ec06f880a&_ss=r. Thanks for listening! We hope you enjoyed the episode. "Written in 1931, H.P. Lovecraft's iconic genre-bending tale of suspense and alien terrors is brought to life in the style of the classic horror films of the 1930s like Frankenstein, Dracula, and King Kong. Using its Mythoscope™ process — a mix of vintage and modern techniques — the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society expands on Lovecraft's original tale while still bringing you unparalleled authenticity." Classical Lovecraft The H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society is proud to present its widely acclaimed and award-winning silent film of The Call of Cthulhu. A dying professor leaves his great-nephew a collection of documents pertaining to the Cthulhu Cult. Crossing decades and continents, the man begins piecing together the dread implications of the professor's inquiries. Written in 1926, the famed story is brought richly to life in the style of a classic 1920s silent movie, with a haunting original symphonic score. Using the Mythoscope™ process — a mix of modern and vintage techniques — the HPLHS has worked to create the most authentic and faithful screen adaptation of a Lovecraft story ever attempted. After playing at numerous film festivals across the world, this extraordinary motion picture is available on DVD, featuring a making-of documentary, high-fidelity and Mythophonic audio, special features, https://www.hplhs.org/mpcoc.php

"Ia! Ia! Cthulhu Ftagn!" does not translate to "happy holidays!" but we still extend those wishes to everyone out there and are doing what we can to make those wishes come true by gifting you or biggest episode yet! Joining us to discuss the too-long-to-be-a-short-but-too-short-to-be-a-feature The Cast of Cthulhu are none other than the writer and director, Sean Branney & Andrew Leman! The two have plenty to say about how they got into Lovecraft, their mission and work at the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society, and how they arrived at the decision to not just adapt the allegedly "unfilmable" short, but to adapt it in the style that would make sense for 1926 (largely inspired by the short film, "The Old Man and the Goblins"). This Winter Solstice, warm yourself with laughter as Leman & Branney regal with you tales of the nightmare prop maker from The Whisperer in Darkness or how and why we may one day see H.P. Lovecraft's The Girl with a Chainsaw. Ho ho holy cow this episode is chock full of Cyclopean goodness, even if it does start out with Jim making a bonehead of himself by incorrectly attributing the creation of the H.P. Lovecraft Literary Podcast to his guests. 'Tis the season for giving, so give this episode a listen and have yourselves a merry Christmas and happy holidays! See y'all next year!

Before we discuss The Void, we take a few minutes to espouse the benefits of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society and a few of the friends we've made since joining (if wordplay and horror-themed puppet shows are up your alley, then do yourself a favor and check out Puppeteers for Fears). Then we take even more minutes to bemoan the recent news of HBO Max vowing to deliver The Snyder Cut of Justice League, which has unfortunately validated the worldview of toxic fanboys. If none of that interests you, skip ahead to approximately 37 minutes where we begin conversation about The Void, a low-budget horror film from Jeremy Gillespie and Steven Kostanski whose command of the film's horror is matched only by how horrible of an experience it was for them to make it. Pulling from influences such as John Carpenter, Silent Hill, and good ol' Howard Philips (though less than the various posters would imply), The Void is chock full of emotion, filmmaking efficiency, and some truly wonderful practical effects.

In this episode, we break format to give you some gifts suggestions of the holidays – whether you give them to your favorite tabletop playing pal or add them to your Christmas lists is entirely up to you. First up, the Dragon Heist platinum edition (02:15). We chat about dice (07:00). Artisan makes very nice dice. We talk about Wormwood dice vaults and accessories (09.00). Stu laments that he didn't own the Masks of Nyarlathotep prop set from the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. It comes in two flavors, regular and holy crap that is expensive (09:45). Art & Arcana inevitably comes up (13:50). Both the regular edition and the limited edition are on sale on Amazon. You can read more of Stu's thoughts on the regular edition and the limited edition on the Insta. Hambone suggests the D&D 5E conversion of X1-The Isle of Dread from Goodman Games (17:38). We thought this one would be out in time for the holidays, but alas, it's hitting shelves in January. You can pre-order it now, though and put a picture of the cover in a card or something. Or you could nab them Into the Borderlands. We wanted to plug the webstores of World Champ Game Co. and Bodie, but both their webstores are closed right now. Instead, why don't you throw them a couple bucks on their Patreons: you'll get some cool stuff every month (19:20). Hambone hits a couple quick gift suggestions (19:50) like Ghost Fightin' Treasure Hunters and SRG Super Show Finally, every year, Hambone's mom buys his a pound-o-dice from Chessex for Christmas, and that is pretty cool. See you in two weeks! * Correction: The singular of dice is die.
