Strange New Worlds “Four-and-a-Half Vulcans”, is an episode that missed the mark despite its intriguing premise. This review dives into the crew's transformation into Vulcans and the ensuing chaos, highlighting standout performances like Melanie Scrofano's Captain Batel amidst the lackluster plot and character inconsistencies. Discover why the episode's attempt at humor and dramatic tension fell flat, and whether its Trekkie nods truly saved it from being excised from the catalog. #StrangeNewWorlds #StarTrek #FourAndAHalfVulcans

Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are watching, listener feedback, and analysis of the TNT series The Librarians: The Next Chapter. This week on the SciFi TV Rewatch podcast we discuss the witty cultural references, Lysa's decision to hold off selling the castle, and the fact that we're always up for a good vampire tale. In our What We're Watching segment, Wayne begins S1 of Yellowjackets, and Dave finishes S3. In Listener Feedback, Alan in England brings up Excalibur and the bloody snow cones, and Fred from the Netherlands identifies Melanie Scrofano's non-genre acting credits. That's a wrap on the first season of Revival. We stuck it out, despite becoming painfully obvious that this was not a zombie show. Good performances from Melanie Scrofano, Andy McQueen and Steve Ogg made it worthwhile.

Over the next few weeks, you'll hear his talks with Dr. Andrea Letamendi, Dave Dwonch, Hannah Rose May, AJ Locascio, John Layman, Filip Sablik, David F. On this episode of Word Balloon, we're talking with the legendary Beau Smith — a true cowboy of comics. From creating the cult favorite Wynonna Earp to seeing it ride high as a hit TV series, Beau's journey is as action-packed as his stories. We dig into the roots of Wynonna, and how he's now teaming up with the show's stars Melanie Scrofano and Tim Rozon to bring new adventures to the page. But that's just the start. Beau shares his unfiltered thoughts on the new Superman movie, and why he thinks the portrayal of Guy Gardner may be the most accurate DC Comics adaptation to date — especially considering he wrote the book on Guy. We also hit the DC vaults to revisit Beau's time writing Catwoman, Wildcat, and other unsung gems that show his knack for tough characters with heart. If you love straight-talking creators and behind-the-scenes insight from someone who's lived it, this is a conversation you don't want to miss.
Melanie Scrofano scratches many an itch, for SQUAWKING DEAD: making us belly laugh as Mrs McMurray on Letterkenny, impressing us as Captain Marie Batel on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and doing both in SyFy's reverse zombie apocalypse (crime) drama, Revival, as Officer Dana Cypress. Based on the Image Comics series by the same name, this series already has cameos and easter eggs, along with laughs and mystery, all packaged in an easy to digest, but well-paced format.
In this recap of Revival's fourth episode, "Run Along Little Lamb," the hosts are once again joined by showrunners Luke Boyce and Aaron B. Koontz to talk a whopper of an episode that includes Rhodey meeting Em's sister and dad, Dana confronting Blaine at his compound, detectiving (or detecting) by both sisters regarding who was with Em on the bridge the night of Revival Day, and of course, that shocking ending. Shawn and Liz are then joined by "Dana Cypress" herself, lead actor Melanie Scrofano (READY OR NOT, Wynonna Earp, Star Trek: Brave New Worlds), who discusses working with the likes of Steven Ogg, her continued support from the Earper fandom, Dana's low-maintenance wardrobe, the character's "poner", and more! Co-hosted by Shawn Talley and Liz McArthur and featuring REVIVAL's co-creators and showrunners, Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce, entries of 'Reliving REVIVAL' will drop weekly after the TV episodes' Peacock streaming release. This compendium podcast, running for the duration of the show's season, will go in-depth with the showrunners, breaking down scenes, sharing development and production stories, and interviewing some special guests. 'Reliving REVIVAL' is the only place that will have weekly insight from the show's actual creators and executive producers! There are somethings in life that we quite frankly never want to see end....On this episode we dive head first into one of the more delightful and relatable comedies that had a great run in theatres and is now available on VOD platforms everywhere. It's time for 'The End of Sex'.A couple feeling the pressures of parenting and adulthood, send their kids to winter camp for the first time and embark on a series of sexual adventures to reinvigorate their relationship. From director Sean Garrity we get one of the most unexpectedly delightful comedies of recent memory and we had the unique pleasure of sitting with the star of the film Emily Hampshire (who you may know from the hit show 'Schitt's Creek' and her co-star who is also the co-writer of the film, Jonas Chernick. We talked about the origins of the story, the grounded nature of the comedy and managing to be heartfelt and sincere while being drop dead funny all at the same time.'The End of Sex' is available on VOD platforms now.
Marrying into the wealthy Le Domas family, one-time foster child Grace thinks she's going to have it all: a handsome, loving husband in Alex, all the amenities she desires (thanks to the Le Domas gaming fortune), and of course, a loving extended family. But, as one character says, the rich really are different. Not only does the family welcome Grace with open arms, they also invite her to a certain ritual designed for all new members of the family. It's just a formality, part of a deal struck many years ago with a certain Mr. Le Bail. You see, if the Le Domas family doesn't hold up their end of the deal, a horrible fate awaits them. Maybe. It all comes down to one card, and what's printed on that card, and whether Grace draws it or not. Because if she does, terrible events will ensue, and the life she envisioned for herself might just explode before her eyes. On this edition of the Richard Crouse Show we'll meet Thomas Hayden Church. He became a star as Mechanic Lowell Mather on the sitcom “Wings,” was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in “Sideways” and has had supporting roles in films such as Tombstone, George of the Jungle, The Specials, and Demon Knight. Today, we talk about his new movie, Acidman. In the film, he plays Lloyd, a reclusive man who lives in in the middle of nowhere, and spends his time searching for UFOs. He is estranged from his daughter Maggie and has been given the nickname "Acidman" by the locals. One day his daughter arrives to pass along some important news and they attempt to make contact, with UFOs and each other. We'll also meet actor Melanie Scrofano. You know her from everything from the Crave comedy series Letterkenny and the comedy-drama series Being Erica, to the CTV fantasy-drama series The Listener and the Syfy modern Western drama Wynonna Earp. Today we talk about her latest movie, “The End of Sex.” Later in the show we'll meet author Justin Cronin. In 2010, novel “The Passage” became a phenomenon. The unforgettable tale that critics and readers compared to the novels of Cormac McCarthy, Michael Crichton, Stephen King, and Margaret Atwood became a runaway bestseller and loved by readers around the globe. His latest book, “The Ferryman” is a riveting standalone novel about a group of survivors on a hidden island utopia—where the truth isn't what it seems. No less an expert than Stephen King said, ““The Ferryman is next to impossible to put down once you've read the first few pages. Exciting, mysterious, and totally satisfying, this is a book to get lost in…”

Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault, Rape At the 18 minute mark is when we discuss Station 19, so you don't have to listen after that if you're just listening for Hallmark. This week I had the privilege of interviewing Daniel DiTomasso, star of Hallmark's movie Welcome to Mama's and recent guest star of ABC hit Station 19. We talked about his Italian heritage, his family history and how that influenced his taking the role of Frank in Welcome to Mama's. We also talk about what it was like working with Oscar and Emmy nominated actress Lorraine Bracco and Melanie Scrofano. Daniel also guest starred on Station 19 as Jeremy. His character attempted to assault Andy, one of the firefighters. Daniel opened up about his struggle with understanding Jeremy's reasons for the actions, working with Jaina Lee Ortiz and what he would like viewers to take from this episode arc. It's the last episode of Mangia March and we are covering Welcome to Mama's. We are joined at the top of the episode by Kerry Frances who tells us about acting, singing and being an impromptu reporter at Christmas Con, where she got to interview our favorite Hallmark stars! Then we dive into the tale of Amy, played by Melanie Scrofano who inherits a struggling restaurant and its truculent head chef named Frank, played by Daniel di Tomasso. Their tempers sizzle over what direction the restaurant should take but an old love story and a book full of recipes point them in the right direction. In this meaty story we discuss if Hallmark fan fiction could include Frank ending up with Sal, Corinne's love for Matty Finochio's eyebrows and the need for emotional support sock puppets especially at a family style dinner. Our new motto this month is 'No spelled backwards is On' and this episode is On so we hope you join us because there is a standing reservation for you, at Welcome to Mama's.

This week finds Luke's team splitting their talents between two different cases. Susan and Zooey team up when new buyers aren't quite satisfied with their recent purchase. Sure their new cliffside home is beautiful but the wobbly walls and mysterious puddles of water that appear from nowhere are definitely a dealbreaker. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x04, “A House Is Not A Home”. What did you think of Zooey and Susan's bonding session? The two women open up to one another over wine. Zooey is doubtful about Susan's pyrotechnical skills until she gets front row view. Elsewhere, Luke scores a windfall for the Agency as they look to close a deal with an old rival. Of course things get complicated when Luke discovers the reason this subdivision is haunted. Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment or in our Facebook group with your thoughts on Ep 1x04, “A House Is Not A Home”. You can also send us an email at bradandcorttalk@gmail.com. Be sure to check back for next week's all new episode as Melanie Scrofano returns to direct Ep 1x05, “Ft. Ghost Child”.
This week the Roman Agency has their work cut out for them. First, Luke is sent in to deal with a reluctant homeowner (Melanie Scrofano). Well, actually, she's less reluctant and more bound to the property. Elsewhere, Susan does her level best to please one of the agency's regular buyers. Problem? She has to do things her way and nearly gets herself fired from his contract. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x03, “For Sale By Owner”. Are you a fellow Earper who was over the moon to see Melanie, our former Wynonna Earp, back on the screen with Tim Rozon? What was your favorite Harper moment? She certainly came up with an entire routine meant to scare away potential buyers. What was up with Luke's childhood home? That house was scary enough to please Susan's eccentric author.
