Ole Miss insider Jake Thompson joins the show on the Farm Bureau guest line talking about the Rebels moving forward after the Alabama game live in the BankPlus Studio. Bo asks Jake about Michael Trigg and he talks about how he didn't play a single snap and maybe Lane trusts Caden Prieskorn more than the USC transfer. Jake tells Bo that he thinks the defense played the best game they have had in SEC play since all of last year and gave credit to Pete Golding. Bo asks Jake what he thinks about the criticism of Lane Kiffin and how the fans went into the game, much like the players, with high expectations. Jake talks about Lane Kiffin's personality during his coaching shows and how there are some situations that you can tell he is uncomfortable with. Bo asks Jake for a prediction for the LSU game and Jake thinks it's a good sign for Ole Miss that Vegas is keeping it close. Out of Bounds is sponsored by BetterHelp. Bo and the crew talk about how Alabama isn't talented like they normally are, Deion Sanders could make a run to the College Football Playoffs next year and if Ole Miss can make changes after their first loss in the third hour of the show live in the BankPlus Studio. The guys talk about how Alabama doesn't have an offensive weapon that is slated for the first 100 picks of the NFL Draft and how different that is from years past. Bo and the crew talk about what Deion Sanders could do with another year under his belt at Colorado and if he could be coaching a College Football Playoff team next year. Ole Miss insider Jake Thompson joins the show on the Farm Bureau guest line talking about the Rebels moving forward after the Alabama game live in the BankPlus Studio. Jake talks about how eh was most surprised by the score at half time because he expected more points than a 7-6 lead for Ole Miss. Jake talks about how Lane Kiffin and the entire team thought this was the year to beat Alabama and how they can't let this loss ruin their mindset for the rest of the season. Jake mentions how the run game is nowhere near to what it was last season and how poor play from the offensive line doesn't allow Quinshon Judkins to get rolling. Locked On Ole Miss - Daily podcast on Ole Miss Rebels Football, Basketball & Baseball
Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the reasons that the Ole Miss Football team led by Lane Kiffin will defeat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets led by Brent Key. This will all start in a comparison of Quarterbacks and while Haynes King is two or three times what Georgia Tech had he is not playing at the same level as Jaxson Dart for Charlie Weis Jr. Michael Trigg in the pass game will be something to watch for from the Ole Miss offense. In the second segment of the show we talk about how Ole Miss Rebels are going to get Quinshon Judkins going against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Through quick passes and threats in different direction the flow will be slowed and allow Judkins to highlight the offense like intended. In our final segment of the day we talk about how I expect Ole Miss to win the game but the cover aspect of the game will be the ultimate question for the Rebs against the Georgia Tech football team. I expect Tech or score but not nearly enough. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Locked On Ole Miss - Daily podcast on Ole Miss Rebels Football, Basketball & Baseball
Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about Ole Miss football's game Saturday against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and begin to obsess about how defenses are playing the Ole Miss Football team. The Offense has not changed from Jeff Lebby to Charlie Weis Jr so we know that the Quick Game is a part of this offense and can be easily added. With the Wide Receiver unit and Tight End Unit thin at the moment Dayton Wade, Jordan Watkins and Michael Trigg will be counted on in the passing game. In the second segment of the show we talk about the defensive being more of a strength than I could have imagined in preseason and they even scored a Touchdown against the Tulane Green Wave when Jared Ivey scooped and scored late in the game Saturday. The next step in the Defensive development will be usage of Suntarine Perkins and using him to accent the defense. That unit played well in the second half last week. In our final segment of the day we talk about Ole Miss needing to not fall into the Alabama trap as this game with Georgia Tech is the Ultimate trap game. First you play a ranked team on the road…Then you play a team you beat 42-0 the year before and then you play Alabama in Bryant Denny Stadium on CBS. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Locked On Ole Miss - Daily podcast on Ole Miss Rebels Football, Basketball & Baseball
Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the happy accident that will benefit the Ole Miss Rebels and Lane Kiffin. With Zakhari Franklins injury and Ayden Williams emergence Ole Miss Football will become a lot more versatile in the coming weeks with players able to play the slot in a normal offensive formation. Ole Miss will be about to run the same formations out of 12 and 21 personnel and have different ways the offense can attack series to series. The Wide Receiver Room is key for unlocking the offense. In the second segment of the show we talk about three recruiting decisions that are due to happen in the next couple of weeks including Trever Jackson, QB, Orlando, FL that has been collecting offers as of late. Noreel White a Wide Receiver out of St Martin in Ocean Springs, MS and Kamarion Franklin a Defensive End out of Lake Cormerant, Miss. These decisions right before the season starts will go a long way in making August very fun for Ole Miss Rebels fans. In our final segment of the day we talk about the health of TE Hudson Wolfe and what he is doing in practice and what that means to the Tight End room, for Caden Prieskorn and Michael Trigg. We then turn our attention to the Ole Miss Freshman receiver record and if Ayden Williams has a legit shot to break it. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the obnoxious amount of Quarterback talent and the competition that has really materialized. We expected a shoot out between Jaxson Dart and Spencer Sanders and while Sanders is healthy, Dart has made the position his own and performed really well at the start of the camp. From there we moved to pass catchers where Jordan Watkins, Michael Trigg and Dayton Wade are returners but the names on everyone's mind are Tre Harris, Ayden Williams and Zakhari Franklin. In the second segment of the show we talk about how a few newcomers namely Ayden Williams, Suntarine Perkins and Austin Simmons have flashed in the early part of fall camp, I expect defenders to start arriving with pads being put on. I think AJ Brown and Kedrick Reescano have the ability to light up the marquee. In our final segment of the day we talk about which players have the best shot of playing both ways this season and Which games are the swing games for this 2023 Schedule. K.D. Locked On Ole Miss - Daily podcast on Ole Miss Rebels Football, Basketball & Baseball
Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about how it seems that Ole Miss every day ends up on some top 10 list for an Offensive player. Whether it is this on which is the Top 10 WR for the 2024 NFL Draft which had Zakarhi Franklin highly rated or Top 10 RBs in College Football where Quinshon Judkins is rated highly. Those stories get the attention instead of development pieces. We looked at three Ole Miss Returning Players as potential fits in this offense at slot receiver. Jordan Watkins, Dayton Wade and Michael Trigg were discussed as options for Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr and Ole Miss Football. In the second segment of the show we talk about Men's Basketball Non Conference scheduling and some of the games early that we are aware of at this point. We also talked about the news that Ole Miss is finalizing a game with California in San Antonio, Texas on December 16. It is always weird talking hoops on July 13 but here we are. In our final segment of the day we talk Ole Miss 2023 Football Schedule and talk about the questions the Texas A&M Aggies have going into this football season. Will Jimbo Fisher and Bobby Petrino be able to coexist long enough to unlock the supreme talent on the Aggies Roster? WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the Ole Miss Offense and how exposive it could be We talk about how Jaxson Dart and Quinshon Judkins will lead an extremely deep offensive unit with Zakhari Franklin and Tre Harris at Wide Receiver and Caden Prieskorn at Tight End. In the second segment of the show We talk about Jacob Gonzalez going in the MLB Draft #15 to the Chicago White Sox and Kemp Alderman going in the 2nd Round of the MLB Draft to the Miami Marlins. We talk briefly about JD Urso not being at Ole Miss anymore and how their could be a Shortstop problem if Cooper Pratt gets drafted. Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the release of the Phil Steele position groups ranking for 2023. This may come as a surprise to some but only the USC Trojans even compete in the offensive ranking with the Ole Miss Rebels. So for the first time in my lifetime someone other than me have Ole Miss with a top 10 QB room, A top 10 RB room and a Top 10 OL Room. The Lowest Room ranking comes at #19 with WR Nationally and the TE Room is not ranked but Phil Steele's draft eligible rankings put Caden Prieskorn at #3 and Michael Trigg at #12. This offense has a chance to be special. In the second segment of the show we talk about we talk about the defensive units and the surprise I saw where every one of Pete Golding's units were rated in the top half nationally. If the Ole Miss Football team has a defense that is statistically ranked in the 50s then this Ole Miss Rebels team is going to win a ton of games. In our final segment of the day we look at 2025 QB Deuce Knight from George County HS in Lucedale, Miss. We talk about what kind of prospect he is and how he is positioned and where he sits for recent QB commits from the Sip. Then Brian Smith comes by to give a break down on this potentially special prospect. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about where this season could go for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss Football. This is the scenario where Ole Miss could win ten games in 2023. Ole Miss on Monday landed a commitment from coveted Memphis transfer tight end Caden Prieskorn. But Prieskorn's potential value goes so far beyond that. The Ole Miss Spirit's Ben Garrett and Zach Berry discuss in an all-new, recruiting-filled edition of Talk of Champions.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Jordan Watkins transferred to Ole Miss from Louisville in January with the expectation he'd be a featured weapon in a high-powered Lane Kiffin offense. He assumed he'd be used all over, too. However, in preseason practices in the spring and early-fall, the 5-foot-11, 191-pound Watkins, a junior, was mostly worked in the slot and occasionally outside at wide receiver. His role changed once starting tight end Michael Trigg went down with a likely season-ending collarbone injury in a 52-28 win at Vanderbilt.“I've made some plays from the backfield,” Watkins said. “The touchdown I scored against Vandy, I came out of the backfield. With the injury with Trigg, you're kind of seeing me move a little bit into the tight end role to kind of help Casey (Kelly) out. Kyirin's still young, so he's still developing (and) still learning.“Kind of to put a guy who knows what to do a little bit and a guy who's played a lot of ball along with Casey to kind of help him out a little bit. You're seeing me in the tight end spot, you're seeing me in the running back spot (and) of course in the slot. Kind of all over, really.”Watkins is currently third on the team in receptions and receiving yards. The raw numbers also don't tell the whole story.Watkins has totaled 13 of his 19 receptions and 209 of his 278 receiving yards in October alone. Ole Miss is 7-0 (3-0 SEC) for just the second time since the 60s and currently sits alone atop the SEC West. The Rebels were ranked No. 7 in Top 25 polls released by the Associated Press and league coaches on Sunday. They next travel to rival LSU (5-2, 3-1) in five days for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff on CBS.Ole Miss last won in Baton Rouge in 2008.“We're a very good football team,” Watkins said. “But we're not great yet.”Watkins details his emergence for the Ole Miss offense, as well as the trip to LSU and quarterback Jaxson Dart's growing confidence, in this edition of Wat's Life, an Ole Miss podcast in association with the Ole Miss Spirit (On3) and Talk of Champions.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
