Gemini saidWhether you're still buzzing from the 2025 season or already looking at the 2026 war room, the Carolina Panthers are at a crossroads. With free agency just days away and the March 11 league year kickoff approaching, Dan Morgan and Dave Canales have some massive decisions to make to keep the momentum going in Charlotte. In this breakdown, we dive deep into the current state of the roster. We're looking at the glaring holes on the defensive interior, the desperate need for a consistent edge rusher to pair with Nic Scourton, and the "insurance policy" required for the offensive line following Ikem Ekwonu's late-season injury. Plus, we analyze the Pick 19 scenarios—could the Panthers snag a game-changer like TE Kenyon Sadiq or LB CJ Allen? The Free Agent Priority List: Is it time to go all-in on a big-name linebacker like Devin Lloyd, or do we trust the internal development of the young core? The Trench Warfare: Evaluating the status of the O-Line and why the Panthers might look at Spencer Fano or Kadyn Proctor in the first round.Draft Gems: A look at the top prospects linked to Carolina at #19, including the electric Kevin "KC" Concepcion and high-upside edge rushers.Salary Cap Gymnastics: How the Panthers can clear space to be "aggressive" as promised by Dan Morgan at the Combine. What We Cover:
1. As of right now, the vast majority of industry draft boards have Ohio State's Carnell Tate, USC's Makai Lemon, and Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson as the three best WR's in this class. In what specific order would you rank them and why? 2. What distinguishes Omar Cooper, Jr. from the rest of the WR's outside the consensus top 3, and just how high can you see him getting drafted? 3. If his medicals reveal that he's poised to return to play come September, do you think Chris Bell warrants consideration starting at the tail-end of the first round? 4. Do you see any similar strengths and/or weaknesses on Denzel Boston's college tape that you saw on Puka Nacua's college tape?5. How much do you think suspect QB play at Texas A&M contributed to K.C. Concepcion's drops?6. Outside of Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith, who are the WR prospects we should be paying the most attention to during the 2027 NFL Draft cycle?7. Buy or Sell-Germie Bernard (late round 1/early round 2)-Malachi Fields (early-to-mid round 2)-Chris Brazzell II (early-to-mid round 2)-Antonio Williams (mid-to-late round 2)-Ted Hurst (mid-to-late round 2)-Elijah Sarratt (late round 2/early round 3)-Skyler Bell (early-to-mid round 3)-Brenen Thompson (mid-to-late round 3)-Zachariah Branch (mid-to-late round 3) -Bryce Lance (late round 3/early round 4)-Deion Burks (late round 3/early round 4)

KC Concepcion isn't a gadget and he's not “just a slot” he's a five-tool offensive weapon who wins as a route runner, creates chunk plays after the catch, flips games on special teams and still finishes in the red zone. I break down the stutter-to-superpower story, the NC State breakout, the 2024 dip with context, and how his Texas A&M season (Paul Hornung Award-type versatility) put him right back in the top-tier NFL Draft convo. We'll hit the five ways he changes an offense on Sundays, the real flaws (drops, press, NFL coverages), and why the Julian Edelman play-style comp keeps showing up. Today was a massive day for the Carolina Panthers at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Head Coach Dave Canales announced a major structural shift, handing over offensive play-calling duties to Coordinator Brad Idzik for the 2026 season to focus on a broader "CEO-style" leadership role and improve real-time game management. General Manager Dan Morgan followed up with a mandate to "attack" the linebacker and edge rusher positions this offseason, searching for instinctual leaders and "dogs" who fit the team's culture. Morgan also provided a critical health update on left tackle Ikem Ekwonu, confirming he is recovering from a torn patellar tendon suffered in the playoffs, though there is currently no specific timeline for his return. We also have the latest on Bryce Young's maturation following his 3,000-yard season and the team's scouting focus on draft prospects like Kevin "KC" Concepcion for the No. 19 overall pick.
It's another rookie-heavy episode as the guys profile wide receiver KC Concepcion, running back Nick Singleton, and quarterback Garrett Nussmeier in the latest Rookie Report. They break down each player's strengths, weaknesses, projected draft capital, and early dynasty value as the 2026 class begins to take shape. Before diving into rookie talk, the crew kicks things off with Javonte Williams' new contract with the Cowboys and debate whether he's currently one of the most undervalued running backs in dynasty leagues. They also unpack the first edition of 2026 rookie ADP, highlighting early trends and identifying players who could be over- or undervalued as the NFL Combine approaches. With the NFL combine now just a few days away, we thought it might be a good idea to throw out a few names we’re looking forward to watching and we think the Jets brass should be too. https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/70201742/download.mp3 Of course there are the big names such as edge rushers David Bailey and Rueben Bain along with linebacker Arvell Reese and safety Caleb Downs. But who are some of the prospects who aren’t being mocked to the Jets by every pundit, fan or insider? Let’s take a look. QB Drew Allar, Penn State: Allar is a tough watch when you turn on the film. Sloppy mechanics lead to often wildy inconsistent play at quarterback. However, Frank Reich is said to be looking to land a tall QB who can work from the pocket which does describe Allar. If Reich believes he can fix what’s wrong with Allar, he may be a developmental QB the Jets target. QB Taylen Green, Arkansas: We loved Green coming in to this season as we anticipated another step forward in his growth, but like Allar, his consistency left plenty to be desired. Green’s footwork will often get sloppy and he tends to leave his feet when throwing the ball down the field for no apparent reason. But he’s a QB who has what both Reich and head coach Aaron Glenn covet at the postion. Reich wants a tall QB with a strong arm, while Glenn wants a QB who can beat you with his legs. Green can do both when he’s on. RB Emmett Johnson, Nebraska: With Breece Hall’s future up in the air and Braelon Allen coming off of a major injury, might the Jets look at a running back? If so, Johnson should be under consideration. His ability to fit through small holes while evading multiple defenders gives you a guy who can take the smallest crease and grab you 7 or 8 yards in a spot where most backs might give you 1 or 2. WR KC Concepcion, Texas A&M: Concepcion has struggled with drops over the course of his college career, but he also brings electric speed and versatility to the position. A guy who would serve primarily as a slot receiver, we’d be willing to bet Concepcion could be effective on the boundary as well. Expect Concepcion to test extremely well this week. WR Brenen Thompson, Ole Miss: Expected to be the fastest player in Indy, Thompson’s size will scare some team’s off as he’s currently listed at 5′ 9”, but his play making ability will get him plenty of attention. Adding Thompson to any offense will bring considerable juice. TE RJ Maryland, SMU: We loved Maryland’s game back in 2024 with SMU before he suffered a season-ending injury after seven games. He’s probably one of the bigger “under the radar” prospects who can boost his stock in Indy with a strong showing. OG Chase Bisontis, Texas A&M: Vega Ioane is a guy who should be at the top of the Jets options with pick sixteen, but if they pass in that spot and are still looking to add a guard, Bisontis in round 2 wouldn’t be a bad idea. Expect a solid showing on the bench press. C Logan Jones, Iowa: The Jets should be looking to upgrade at center with such a deep class and in all honesty, Jones would be our first choice. The Iowa product showed great movement on film over the past couple of seasons so we expect a solid showing for all 32 teams at the combine. His teammate Beau Stephens, a guard at Iowa, should be another option for the Jets in the middle rounds. DT Nick Barrett, South Carolina: The Jets will need to beef up their interior defensive line and Barrett is an powerful, explosive option. Very curious to see how he fares on the vertical and broad jumps along with bench press. SKOL Search: Vikings 2026 WR Prospects — Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, KC Concepcion — Tyler Forness and producer Dave go live on “SKOL Search” to scout three first-round caliber 2026 NFL Draft wide receivers the Vikings could study despite WR not being an immediate need, citing how needs can change (e.g., 2020 Diggs trade leading to Justin Jefferson). They break down Carnell Tate (Ohio State) as a smooth route runner and strong contested-catch player (graded 88.0) but lacking elite twitch/top speed; Makai Lemon (USC) as Forness's WR1 (88.7) with versatile separation skills, YAC, toughness, and strong blocking, with some catch-radius/acceleration concerns; and KC Concepcion (Texas A&M, ex-NC State) as WR3 (87.6), a twitchy YAC/return specialist who can also run routes and win contested catches, potentially fitting a Vikings WR3 or Addison-replacement role. There's a new episode of The Business of Open Source today! It's been a while. I talked with Anais Concepcion about a program she's been testing at Grist to give free activation codes for the enterprise version of Grist to individuals and small businesses that have a revenue under $1 million. The program has been in place for 5 months, and Anais came on the show to talk about both the strategy behind the program as well as some preliminary results. The strategy comes down to shifting the perception of Grist Open Source and Grist Enterprise. The goal, Anais says, is to make the ecosystem consider Grist Enterprise the ‘default' version of Grist, rather than the other way around. In fact, she's considering renaming Grist Enterprise to just “Grist” to reinforce the idea that it is not the ‘special' version of Grist, but the default version. There were other strategic goals, too. One is to get more feedback on the ‘enterprise' features, another is to avoid nickel-and-diming individual users while making sure that big companies are paying. The results so far have been interesting. The biggest concrete result has been in partnership relationships; it's easier for small consulting / development shops to get access to the full Grist and to then resell it to their clients. There haven't been been any signed deals yet as a result of this dynamic, but there are companies in discussions with the Grist sales team that probably wouldn't have happened without the program… it will be interesting to see what happens as the program matures. After we turned off the recording, we had an interesting discussion about pricing as well; at Open Source Founders Summit Anais is going to do a workshop on pricing strategy. Not how much to charge, but what to charge for (consumption, seats, etc), how to set pricing anchors, and more. Join us in May if that's interesting to you!

On this episode of The Ty Brady Way, Ty sits down with Alexander Concepcion, an Austin-based entrepreneur who turned a side gig into an eight-year business success story. Alexander opens up about his unconventional path from finance and economics degrees to finding his calling in apartment locating, a niche in real estate that most people have never heard of but that's given him the freedom to live life on his own terms. Alexander shares the raw truth about his early struggles, from getting rejected at every corporate interview to asking his dad for rent money at 27 years old with two college degrees. You'll hear how he went from broke and desperate to making $10,000 a month within nine months, all while building the systems and processes that would eventually let him go independent. He talks about the turning point when he realized he was paying 40% of his income to an agency when he'd already figured out how to generate 80% of his own leads. The conversation dives deep into what Alexander calls "return on energy," his framework for building a business that doesn't burn you out. He explains how he survived and thrived during COVID while watching other businesses crash around him, the twin realizations that some of his success was luck and some was preparation, and why he believes businesses don't fail, they're just abandoned when we stop putting energy into them. Ty and Alexander explore the practical side of entrepreneurship, from using Craigslist ads and virtual assistants to scale marketing efforts to the seasonal cycles of the rental market where summer heats up and winter cools down. Alexander breaks down his income range from zero-dollar months to $40,000-$50,000 months and explains why he focuses on high return on energy rather than just chasing bigger numbers. You'll also hear about Alexander's book Survival First, which came out of four years of asking himself why his business thrived when so many others didn't. His message is clear: we don't control the external world, but we control how we adapt to it, and the most important resource in business isn't money or time, it's our own human energy. If you're an entrepreneur feeling burnt out or wondering how to build something sustainable, this episode is for you. Today Dr. Demetrio Aguila, a Direct Care surgeon and Host of the Direct Care Movement Podcast interviews the Host of My DPC Story, Dr. Maryal Concepcion. For those listeners new to the podcast, or for those who are always happy to hear a DPC doctor talk about before and after opening a DPC, today you get to hear some of our Host's back story. Alexander Concepcion first discovered his love for books through his Cuban-American parents in Miami, Florida. After burning his college diplomas, he moved to Texas and became one of the state's top-producing—and only taco-themed—independent real estate brokers, all while working part-time. Outside of real estate, he studies history, plays disc golf, hosts extravagant dinner parties, and travels the world. Alexander is on a mission to help small entrepreneurs rethink risk, approaching business through a human, relatable lens rather than academic theory or influencer hype. He calls his approach Survival First, a “Dante's Inferno for small entrepreneurs,” helping them navigate the challenges of building a business.

Hour 2 - Aggie Football Listen-In with Marcus Ratcliffe & KC Concepcion
In the summer of '75 it was becoming clear that something special was happening in Boston. A rookie centerfielder was having a season for the ages. Fred Lynn would lead the Sox to the pennant behind one of the greatest, if not THE greatest rookie season in baseball history. The first year sensation would become the first player to win Rookie of the Year and MVP in the same season. It culminated in a World Series that 50 years later is considered to be one of the all-time classics with the Sox and the Reds providing thrill after thrill that saw reach a 7th game after Carlton Fisk's legendary home run over the Monster and off the Pole in left to win Game 6. It was widely considered the sports story of the year with future Hall of Fame players throughout both rosters. The star power of Rose, Rice, Yaz, Morgan, Fisk and Perez along with Tiant, Lynn, Concepcion, Foster, and Griffey was off the charts… and the Big Red Machine finally prevailed in that game 7 to win the Series. That was one to remember… the other big story was one we'd like to forget… The Match Race between Foolish Pleasure and the great filly, Ruffian was the talk of the horse racing world and the excitement at Belmont Park was similar to when Secretariat was going for the triple crown at the same track two years earlier… After a blistering 1/4 mile, Ruffian had just taken the lead by a neck over the Kentucky Derby winner… in fact, that first 1/2 mile was the only time in Ruffians career she ever trailed in a race… she was running with the boys and holding her own… when she suffered a catastrophic leg injury breaking two bones in her right leg. The great horse continued to run for a bit even on the broken leg as her jockey Jacinto Vasquez tried to bring her to a stop. The jubilant atmosphere came to a sudden stop at the race track and nationwide as the TV audience realized what had just taken place… there was no way to describe it, yet that was the job of Dave Johnson, the track announcer at Belmont… Even he was at a loss for words as the ambulance made its way on to the track to tend to the fallen horse… she would be carted away, and after multiple attempts to save her, the great Ruffian was finally put to rest. Johnson was off the next two days, but when he returned to work on Wednesday he said there was one word that described everything… “Crying” Everyone was crying. Writers, trainers, guys in the stall… women in the offices… everywhere you went, people were at a loss… In a career that would span over 50 years, it was as tough a day as Johnson can recall. Now 84, the legendary Horse Racing announcer is still as energetic and exuberant when it comes to the sport he loves. On the Past Our Prime podcast, Johnson shares inside details on that horrific July day when Ruffian rode for the final fatal time… He talks about how the atmosphere at the track was electric and how he thought Ruffian would remain undefeated after beating Foolish Pleasure… but it didn't happen the way anybody thought it would. Johnson also reflects on the recent passing of his good friend, D. Wayne Lukas and gives personal insights to what made him such a great trainer… and an even better person. The legendary trainer was 89 years old when he died June 28th… just 16 days after the final horse he trained won a race… Johnson claims his work ethic was second to none and that Lukas was everything that was good about the sport. “And down the stretch they come!!!”… A legendary call from a legendary broadcaster talking about a legendary horse and a legendary trainer… sounds like a legendary show… and it is… The Past Our Prime podcast with Dave Johnson… listen wherever you get your podcasts.
