This week on Girls Who Like Hoops, I'm breaking down the WNBA preseason from top to bottom. I go team by team to talk about roster surprises, big injuries, who got waived (and why fans are mad about it), and what these early moves say about what teams are planning. I'm also giving my post-preseason seeding list, sharing what I expect from each squad going into opening week, and getting into the tanking conversation—because yes, it's already time to talk about that. A storm system will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to the area today. Some storms could produce damaging winds and large hail. A Flood Watch is in effect for North Texas, including Dallas and Fort Worth until 1 a.m. Wednesday with the possibility of 1 to 3 inches of rainfall. In other news, Dallas City Council and school board elections attracted few eligible voters, a decades long trend that has voting advocates trying to figure out how to make local contests more appealing. According to the county's elections department, Dallas County municipal elections attracted only 8.4% of 1.4 million registered voters; a second teenager has been arrested in connection with the March slaying of a 14-year-old boy in east Oak Cliff. 17-year old Juan Saucedo was arrested Sunday and booked into the Dallas County jail on a capital murder charge in the death of Adam Gutierrez; falling crude prices will eventually translate into lower prices at the gas pump for consumers, but that doesn't mean it's all good news ― especially for Texas-based oil producers; and Paige Bueckers might be getting ready for her rookie season with the Dallas Wings, but she is still on the receiving end of awards for her collegiate career. Bueckers was named the winner of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards' Honda Sport Award for basketball. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Send us a textBreaking down the WNBA playoff picture by analyzing which teams are locks for the postseason and which face uncertainty due to roster changes and chemistry concerns. I categorize teams into two groups—questionable playoff contenders and automatic qualifiers—based on their star power, depth, and potential to make meaningful playoff runs.• Dallas Wings as a questionable playoff team with a guard-heavy lineup of Arike, Paige Becker, and DiJonai but concerns about front-court depth after losing key players• Chicago Sky's playoff hopes resting on Angel Reese and Carmela Cardoso's development, alongside rookie Haley Van Lith• Los Angeles Sparks featuring a revamped roster with Kelsey Plum, Dearica Hamby, and Rickea Jackson, with questions about Cameron Brink's impact upon return• Phoenix Mercury's talented trio of Alyssa Thomas, Kaleah Copper, and Satou Sabally possibly limited by spacing concerns and questionable depth• Seattle Storm expected to make playoffs despite losing Jewell Loyd, thanks to Nneka Ogwumike, Skylar Diggins-Smith, and Ezi Magbegor• Minnesota Lynx as automatic playoff qualifiers with Napheesa Collier, Kayla McBride, and Courtney Williams coming off a Finals appearance• Indiana Fever reaching a new level with Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, and DeWanna Bonner forming a formidable trio• Atlanta Dream's elite trio of Rhyne Howard, Alisha Gray, and Brittney Griner making them serious contenders• Las Vegas Aces remaining championship favorites with Asia Wilson, Jewell Loyd, and Chelsea Gray• New York Liberty established as the top automatic playoff team with Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and Jonquel Jones leading their title defensePlease make sure to like, subscribe, comment, and tell anyone who's anyone about the show!Support the showhttps://linktr.ee/GetABucketShow for more content!!!

Today is the day of the Great NBA Reset! Basketball has fallen from its once esteemed place among sports. Now it's full of entitled children who will sell out in a heartbeat for the bag. We have no one to blame but ourselves. Have no fear, though, because Jason Whitlock is here. On today's special episode of "Fearless," Jason, joined by YouTuber and NBA analyst Jay Skapinac (Skap Attack), unpacks his plan to save the NBA from its oncoming doom. Whitlock's plan fixes not only the regular season but also the off-season. Could this be the lifeboat the NBA has been looking for? Or will the league go down with the sinking ship? It's about time the NBA gives back more power to the fan, and we at "Fearless" have the answer. Later in the show, Jason and Skap address Shedeur Sanders' and Travis Hunter's jersey retirement at Colorado. Did both of them have noteworthy careers to warrant this level of praise? Paige Bueckers is the official No. 1 overall draft pick by the Dallas Wings at the WNBA draft, but that isn't even the news of the night. Paige and one of her UCONN teammates in attendance seem to be pretty close. Rumors spread about how deep their relationship really is. Maybe this is why the WNBA holds Bueckers in higher regard than Caitlin Clark. Finally, Jason reacts to a sound bite from "The Karen Hunter Show" of former journalist turned social justice activist John Mitchell, who has some words to say about Jason. Mitchell is very outspoken about his relationship with Stephen A. Smith. Could this mean that Whitlock lives rent-free in SAS's head? Find out next on "Fearless." Hour 1 The Mets beat the struggling Twins in Minnesota. Boomer suggested Acuna as the Mets' permanent second baseman. Overnight, Anthony Gallo criticized Boomer's take on Carmelo Anthony's Knicks tenure, labeling it an "old man take." The discussion shifted to Al & Eddie's messy office, with Boomer suggesting a desk be a makeup studio for Aly. Jerry's update began with the Mets' win over the Twins, highlighting Juan Soto's 2-run homer and Alonso's "no excuses" comment about the weather. The Yankees also won, hitting 4 home runs, and Aaron Judge was named Team USA's World Baseball Classic captain. A caller questioned why Mark DeRosa hasn't been considered for an MLB managerial role. Hour 2 Gio speculates about a "smokescreen" with the Giants holding another workout with Shedeur Sanders in Colorado, questioning if he could fall to their second pick, while Gio still prefers Jalen Milroe after taking Carter first. Jerry's update followed a discussion about Sal's controversial Masters comments. Jerry reported on the Yankees' win over the Royals with 4 solo home runs and the Mets beating the Twins with Juan Soto's second homer. The show also addressed a Braves reporter asking for a woman's number on air, deemed unprofessional by some but seemingly harmless. The hour concluded with Rory McIlroy's Masters win and Sal's reaction. Hour 3 Yesterday's show featured awkward tension between BT and Sal after playing audio of Sal arguing with a Masters caller. Jerry's update followed, starting with the Mets' chilly win in Minnesota, highlighting strong pitching.
