Kat Crowder grew up in Alabama with an alcoholic father and started getting into trouble as a teenager — eventually getting sent to a troubled teen program that was supposed to help but couldn't prepare her for what came next. When she got out her father took his own life. That loss derailed everything. In this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick, Kat tells the complete story — from her teenage years spiraling into identity theft check fraud and in and out of Tennessee jails to eventually catching a case in Ohio and spending nearly a year inside an Ohio state prison. But what makes her story completely unique right now is who she was locked up with. Kat was in Ohio prison with Mackenzie Shirilla — the subject of the viral Netflix crash documentary — and she went viral for sharing what Mackenzie was really like inside. The Netflix documentary got it wrong. Kat was there. This is the complete unfiltered truth. _____________________________________________ #MackenzieShirilla #OhioPrison #truecrimecommunity _____________________________________________ Thank You To CASH APP For Sponsoring This Episode: Download Cash App Today: https://click.cash.app/ui6m/6pao71et #CashAppPod Cash App is a financial services platform, not a bank. In today's episode, I am getting into one of the most requested topics, getting pregnant after 35. And I want to be clear right from the start, this is not a scary episode. This is an empowering one. We're going to talk about what's actually happening in your body as you age; the biology, the statistics, the real reasons conception can feel harder and I'm going to break it all down in a way that makes sense, gives you a roadmap, and honestly, gives you your power back. And while there are never any guarantees in this journey, there is so much more within your control than you've been told. I'll be covering the truth about natural conception rates through your reproductive years, why oxidative stress and chronic inflammation are two of the biggest silent disruptors and the functional testing approach I use with my clients that gets them pregnant. Because when you stop guessing and start getting real answers, everything changes. If you're LOVING this podcast, please follow and leave a rating and review below. Send us Fan MailMany patients assume that if they have gotten pregnant naturally before, IVF should be simple. But IVF and natural conception are not the same process. In this episode of Taco Bout Fertility Tuesday, Dr. Mark Amols explains why IVF is incredibly powerful, but still cannot perfectly duplicate every hidden filter, timing system, and biological checkpoint that happens inside the body. From sperm selection and fertilization to fallopian tube transport, embryo transfer timing, uterine receptivity, egg recruitment, and embryo grading, IVF can reveal parts of reproduction that nature usually keeps hidden. This episode explores why someone may have children naturally but still struggle with fertilization, embryo development, or implantation during IVF. It also explains why a failed IVF cycle does not mean failure — it may provide valuable clues that help guide the next step.IVF is not worse than nature. Nature is not better than IVF. They are different routes toward the same goal. And sometimes in fertility, the route matters. Thanks for tuning in to another episode of 'Taco Bout Fertility Tuesday' with Dr. Mark Amols. Infertility is rising in the U.S.—now affecting about one in five couples trying to conceive. In this episode, Dr. Natalie Crawford joins Mosheh to break down what's behind the shift—and what people can do to prepare months or even years before trying to get pregnant to improve their fertility.Crawford, a reproductive endocrinologist and host of the As a Woman podcast, is also the author of the new book The Fertility Formula. She lays out a more proactive approach to understanding fertility and explains how it is closely tied to overall health, including the role of chronic inflammation and its impact on hormones, egg and sperm quality, and pregnancy outcomes. The conversation also looks at factors that often don't get much attention early on—sleep, stress, diet, and environmental exposures—as well as the role of male fertility, which accounts for roughly half of infertility cases. Crawford also discusses insulin resistance, cannabis use, and how both can affect fertility. It's a practical look at what's within your control—and why getting data about your body earlier can help inform decisions down the line. Mosheh Oinounou (@mosheh) is an Emmy and Murrow award-winning journalist. He has 20 years of experience at networks including Fox News, Bloomberg Television and CBS News, where he was the executive producer of the CBS Evening News and launched the network's 24 hour news channel. There are many things that can impact your ability to become pregnant. In today's episode, I'm reviewing the top 10 things to consider if you are TTC. 1. Environmental Toxins. Avoid microwaving food in plastic containers or bottles. Always store food and glass or stainless steel containers. Million Marker offers a test to find out if you have in-body toxicity. 2. Chemicals in food and everyday products. Verify that the products you are using are chemical free. You can do that on https://www.ewg.org/ 3. Being sedentary. The CDC and American College of OBGYN, both recommend exercise in amounts of 150 minutes per week. Avoid over exercising, as low BMI can also cause fertility issues. 4. Food allergies or intolerances. Work with a nutritionist to find out if you have a food allergy or other food intolerance. You may also want to consider working with a specialist if you have PCOS or working with a nutritionist like Rohini Bajekal to help you manage PCOS if you have it. 5. Blocked Fallopian Tubes. Check with your doctor to find out if this is what may be causing you to have a hard time TTC. 6. THC and Cannabinoids can affect the motility of the fallopian tube and the receptors in the lining of the uterus. This makes embryo implantation harder and it might not happen as quickly as you would want. 7. Nicotine. Nicotine can affect the DNA and the egg in the sperm cells, and it can also affect a woman's fertility such that she could go potentially into menopause earlier. 8. Blaming birth control pills. Many people think that birth control pills "cause" infertility, but the truth is that because they regulate your period they may be masking the indicators of infertility. Make sure you get your hormone levels checked with your doctor every year to confirm your levels. 9. Ignoring biology. Every woman is born with a finite number of eggs, and if you want to wait to have kids until later in life, be sure and freeze your eggs when you are in your 20s. 10. Not getting enough sleep. Listen on Dr. Aimee's website. Curious about IVF? Click here to join Dr. Aimee for The IVF Class. Many women reach their 30s and suddenly feel an invisible pressure set in. The clock gets louder. The messaging gets scarier. And fertility, something that once felt distant or optional, becomes charged with fear, urgency, and self-blame.This episode is for anyone who has ever wondered if they waited too long, if their body is betraying them, or if turning 35 means everything has suddenly changed. This is not a failure of timing. This is not a lack of effort. And it is not a fertility cliff. In this hol+ conversation, Dr. Taz sits down with double board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist Dr. Lucky Sekhon to dismantle one of the most anxiety-producing myths in women's health: that fertility suddenly collapses at 35.Dr. Lucky explains why fertility is a continuum, not a deadline, and why the panic surrounding age often does more harm than the biology itself. Using clear science and compassionate language, she breaks down the difference between egg quantity and egg quality, why egg quality cannot be directly tested, and what actually changes as women age. This episode explores why fertility struggles are increasing worldwide, even among young women, and how factors like insulin resistance, PCOS, endometriosis, inflammation, environmental toxins, and chronic stress quietly shape reproductive health long before pregnancy becomes a goal.Dr. Taz and Dr. Lucky also reframe painful and irregular periods as vital signs that should never be ignored, explain why many fertility diagnoses remain unclear, and clarify how treatments like IUI and IVF work not because the body is broken, but because human reproduction is naturally inefficient. From fear-based fertility messaging to evidence-based clarity, this conversation offers a grounding reset. If you are trying to get pregnant, thinking about egg freezing, navigating fertility anxiety, or simply want to understand your body better, this episode replaces panic with perspective and urgency with informed choice.Dr. Taz and Dr. Lucky Sekhon discuss:• Why fertility does not suddenly end at 35• The difference between egg count and egg quality• Why egg quality cannot be directly tested• The real drivers behind declining fertility rates• PCOS, endometriosis, and insulin resistance as fertility blockers• Why painful or irregular periods are red flags• What fertility treatments actually improve and what they cannot• How to approach pregnancy with clarity instead of fearAbout Dr. Lucky SekhonDr. Lucky Sekhon is a double board-certified reproductive endocrinologist, infertility specialist, and OB/GYN based in New York City. She is widely recognized for her compassionate, evidence-based approach to fertility care and her ability to translate complex reproductive science into language women can actually understand.Dr. Lucky is the author of The Lucky Egg: Understanding Your Fertility and How to Get Pregnant Now, a practical and empowering guide designed to help individuals and couples navigate fertility decisions with confidence, clarity, and realism. Her work focuses on demystifying fertility testing, treatment options, and the emotional toll of trying to conceive. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lucky is a trusted educator across social media and digital platforms, where she helps women move beyond fear-based fertility narratives and make informed choices aligned with their life goals.Order the BookThe Lucky Egg: Understanding Your Fertility and How to Get Pregnant NowStay Connected:Connect further to Hol+ at https://holplus.co/- Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell to stay updated on future episodes of hol+.Follow Dr. Lucky SekhonInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/lucky.sekhonWebsite: https://theluckyegg.com/Follow Dr. Taz on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drtazmd/https://www.instagram.com/liveholplus/Subscribe to the audio podcast: https://holplus.transistor.fm/subscribeSubscribe to the video podcast: https://www.youtube.com/@DrTazMD/podcastsGet your copy of The Hormone Shift: Balance Your Body and Thrive Through Midlife and MenopauseHost & Production TeamHost: Dr. Taz; Produced by ClipGrowth.com (Producer: Pat Gostek)
If you were told you had ovarian cysts, super low AMH, debris in your fallopian tubes, and on top of that your husband has suboptimal swimmers, would you have the courage to trust that IVF wasn’t for you? That’s exactly what Marcy did during her 4 year journey to her baby boy. In this episode […] The post EP362: Ovarian Cysts, Low AMH, and Sub-Optimal Swimmers Didn’t Stop Her From Getting Pregnant NATURALLY: Marcy’s Story appeared first on Rosanne Austin.
Low AMH and "diminished ovarian reserve" can feel like a fertility dead end, but they're not the full story. In this episode, you'll learn what those numbers actually mean, how much they really say about your chances of getting pregnant (naturally or with treatment), and the most powerful levers you still have control over so you can move forward feeling informed, hopeful, and in the driver's seat of your journey. Episode Highlights: Why "low ovarian reserve" is often misunderstood, and what your egg numbers actually look like across your reproductive lifespan, without the fear‑based spin. The real role of AMH: how it was designed to be used in fertility medicine, what it can and can't tell you about your ability to conceive, and why it's not the final verdict on your fertility. Myth‑busting low AMH: how some people still conceive naturally with low numbers, and which key factors matter just as much (if not more) than that single lab result. Your path forward: how to think through natural conception vs IVF/IUI when you have low reserve, and why there isn't one "right" choice, only the right strategy for you. Science‑backed strategies to support egg and sperm health when every cycle counts, including often‑overlooked lifestyle levers that can shift the odds in your favor. Millions of women in their 30s–50s are being told they're “depressed” when their brains and hormones are simply changing. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz to unpack the truth about midlife mood shifts, rage, and the hormonal fluctuations that mimic depression but aren't the same. We break down the science of perimenopause, why women are so often misdiagnosed, and how decades of excluding women from research left major gaps in understanding how estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone shape the brain. Dr. Gilberg-Lenz reveals how hormonal changes—starting up to ten years before menopause—can transform mood, cognition, and stress, and how modern science is finally catching up to just how powerfully hormones influence the mind. Sex education in schools tends to focus on how to avoid unplanned pregnancy — but that means a lot of Americans don't learn much about fertility. One of the most common misunderstandings relates to age. A woman's fertility declines as she ages, but many people underestimate just how much harder it can be to get pregnant in their 30s and 40s. And, most people also think fertility treatments are more likely to be successful than they are. MPR News guest host Catharine Richert talks with two doctors about what affects the likelihood of getting pregnant and the things people wished they'd known before trying to have a baby.Guests: Dr. Suzanne Darnell practices obstetrics and gynecology at M Health Fairview. She's also an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Tana Kim is a reproductive endocrinologist and the IVF director at Reproductive Medicine & Infertility Associates (RMIA) in the Twin Cities. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

We'll talk about: Why your lab work might look fine, but your minerals say otherwise How stress and adrenal depletion quietly block fertility The role of iodine, hormone signaling, and deeper root causes What your body could be trying to tell you — and where to start Whether you're feeling burned out, spiritually discouraged, or just ready for someone to finally explain what's going on in a way that makes sense — this episode will help you feel seen, supported, and empowered. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! One of my friends is having a baby, so we've been talking about baby stuff a lot. And of course… my stupid phone is listening. So now my TikTok feed is filled with all these freaking baby videos. Usually I just scroll past it, but the other day… one of them caught my eye. It was a viral video all about how this girl got pregnant because she took Mucinex. You know, the medicine for chest congestion? I know… so random. I thought this was a fake video but as I did more research, turns out *thousands* of people have tried this, and tons of them swear by it. But here's the thing: this is nothing new. Since the dawn of time, humans have been trying desperately to multiply. People have been drinking strange potions, and performing controversial rituals, and even worshipping a metal penis for *centuries*. When it comes to making babies, people will try anything. So today, we're diving into the weird, wild, and sometimes terrifying Dark history of fertility. I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. I sometimes talk about my Good Reads in the show. So here's the link if you want to check it out.
