We talk about why it's important not to push feelings away and the wisdom that comes when we allow ourself to embody what is. We also talk about how to process disappointment and how getting our heart broken is part of being an authentic, soulful artist. Song:Tell Me by Andy Gammon
It's another podcast! Guess what? Natalie has had a little visitor. A tiny furry visitor in her apartment. And now she has a story for us! We talk about learning to identify our own needs, not putting our "savior" outside of ourselves, and creating a secure environment for ourselves, AND... this is the first podcast that you can watch the video of!Song:Tell Me by Andy Gammon
This week's special guest is Natalie's sweet baby girl, Elena! And just like a newborn needs love, care, attention, and nurturing, so does every single one of us. This week Natalie and Kristin talk about how to ask the question "What does my body need?" and to tune in for the answers, everyday and moment by moment. As we can feel the calls and pressures of life, how does each one of us slow down to take care of the precious one inside first. Yes, first, not after all the things are done. We also talk about the sacred gift of life and how attuning to ourselves, our bodies, and our relationships is part of honoring it.
This week's guest is director/writer/poet Kristin Hanggi, who received a Tony Award nomination for Best Director of a Musical for Rock of Ages. This week, Natalie and Kristin answer questions from the CREATE community on all sorts of different topics -- balance, self-confidence, and audacity. They also have a blast making each other laugh as they catch up, and dive into how we can create space for all of the feelings as they emerge. Natalie blows Kristin's mind when she drops this valuable tool: "the thing I'm trying to avoid feeling is..." We hope you enjoy listening as much as we did recording!
This week, we are back to podcasting after Natalie's maternity leave! She shares her birth story with us, and what she has learned in her process as a mother so far. We expand the conversation to what it is to "mother" in the creative sense, and how birthing something new in the world takes a deep inner listening. We discuss the obstacles that arise as we bring anything to life. We also talk about loving and trusting the creation as we learn how to love and trust ourselves.
When our minds get into obsession about something or someone, what is that telling us about ourselves? This week we talk about why the mind wants to leave the present moment, and the tricky ways we avoid feeling our pain. We also talk about how our creativity wants to be utilized here and now, and how our deep emotions are asking for acceptance and expression.
Fasten your seatbelts, friends, we are talking about shame this week! Where is the unlikely place that shame shows up? And what are our triggers trying to reveal to us about what we are believing? We go on to discuss our inherent value and worthiness as human beings, exactly as we are, and we dive into the messages that our habits and behaviors are communicating to our sweet inner child. It's a full packed episode this week!
We are talking about personal evolution on this podcast and where it's taking us! We explore how our individual choices demonstrate our values. And how our values are unique to each one of us and our purpose on the planet. Also, as we explore deeper into evolving consciousness, we dive into the awakening process that is happening in the world and inside each one of us. The process is natural: just as our bodies are self-healing, so is our growth. Rest and stillness allows us to feel and sense what is arising from within. What's next? We are choosing it as it is also unfolding from our very nature.
In this episode I interview Natalie Roy. Natalie is an accomplished actress, author, and coach. She's a regular on some of the most popular tv shows on the planet such as Law and Order and The Blacklist. She also the host of the CREATE podcast with her best friend and she pioneered the acting technique The Activated Actor. Funny story…. When I was researching her, I watched some of her videos on Youtube and I had no idea that she was the star in one of my favorite commercials of all time. Many of you will remember the match.com commercial where there's a woman and The devil himself sitting down for an interview. If you haven't seen it, you need to but I loved that commercial and I totally geeked out when I discovered that was her! In this interview Natalie shares her story, and some advice that I think we all need which is how to bring out your inner creativity so that you can have fulfillment. This is a great interview that I know you will love! What does it mean to have your "hands in the clay?" This week we are talking about actively being involved in the formation of our own lives. We are surrounded by potential, the raw materials of creation. We also talk about inner and inter-dependence as we examine looking at our patterns in order to love and heal them. All of life is our opportunity to have our "hands in the clay."
It's rainbow sweaters! It's listening to your body! This week we are talking about how the Divine whispers differently to each one of us about who we are and what we are called to. We are giving BIG permission to listen to the song of your soul, and follow the inspiration that is unique to you!!!
Reality is fluid! Who we are is fluid! Life is constantly changing as the universe itself is evolving. We talk about co-creating in a world that is ever alive and dynamic. In the same way, we acknowledge that our dream is also always moving and revealing itself to us. We can't use yesterday's blueprint in today's world. Energy is flowing and form is shifting... It's fluid! And we are constantly creating a ripple effect with our actions.
This is our 200 episode! How exciting! The CREATE podcast is a "creative baby" that we have loved birthing into the world. This week, Natalie shares some personal news with us, and we explore what it is like to give birth to a creative idea. We talk about how our creative babies teach us how to become the healthy parents that can raise them. In a way, our creative babies birth us, and our next level of consciousness,
It's the holiday season and it's time for GIFTS! This week we are talking about how we ALL have different feelings and different needs, and we process them all in our own way. When it comes to feelings, there isn't any right or wrong. We are all unique in the way we do things. There is a huge GIFT in accepting our differences as we also learn how to accept ourselves.
Have you ever thought of yourself in a constant dance with Life? How much is "us"? And how much is the formless playing and creating through us? This week we talk about actively creating life, and letting life be created through us. Are we following Life, or is Life following us? Or are both simultaneously happening at the same time?
This week we are talking a lot about un-doing labels and categorization so that we can go beyond the binary into the ever-evolving space that is the essence of life. We discuss the inspirational work of Alok Vaid-Menon. We also talk about the power of holding opposites in all situations, and how intentionally leaving space for creation creates a gateway for who we are going to be next.
We've invented a term for when a person gets preoccupied by trying to "fix" themselves! We stumbled on this idea when reviewing one of our very first podcasts on insecurity. This week, we discuss that whatever we want to “fix” actually points us to the parts that are asking to be loved. The “fixness” itself can be an avoidance of intimacy. So, instead of trying to “fix” can we bring empathy and unconditional self-love into this moment?
This week is all about the Form and Formless. Matter and Spirit. What comes first. Why that scares us. Where we put our trust. Kristin lets us into her next adventure, while Natalie shares the process of how she "created" her romance.
This week we are talking about our relationships: romantic, artistic, business, and friendships. We discuss the power we each have in our perception to either raise up or to create separation. As there is so much division in the world, how do we not make an "other" and how can we use conflict or difference as an opportunity to take personal responsibility? Where are triggers in a relationship an indication that there is some shadow work to be done?
Hahaha! Nope, we're not giving a sermon this week! We are actually sharing the adventures of our weekend trip to Austin, Texas. Hear all about our inside jokes, our two-step dancing, and how all of life was communicating with us in a myriad of different ways. Picture recommendations - Could be pictures of travel? Or a picture of cowboy boots dancing? A taco truck? Maybe a road map?
This week we talk about what is emerging through us — as individuals and as a collective. We talk about how our values get shaped in this creative process called life. Then we dig into thoughts on how the universe is reflecting back to us what is inside of us and how that helps us to grow!
This week we are talking about how we've noticed that there seems to be "fear" in the air. Or, another way of saying it, is you can feel the collective anxiety of the human condition coming up to be felt. This is actually positive movement, because we are going from a place of "repressed fear" to "expressed fear" as part of the releasing and transmuting process. This week, we talk about how this is happening in individuals as it occurs at the same time inside the larger collective.
Have you ever noticed that there's always something in your life, your art, your relationships, or your career that you're just not satisfied with? That it's never all "done." That you always find yourself reaching for something. Well, what if the Discontent has a purpose? What if the gap or distance actually creates room for Life to demonstrate itself to us? What is the job isn't to get rid of that space, but to change our relationship with it? This week, we talk about all of that, and we never get around to telling the story about Kristin's pink hair... More for next week!
It is the voice of your intuition that you hear? Is it the voice of your fears? How can we tell the difference? What do we do with the ever present duality that is always in us? Where are we looking for direction? Do we value outer authority over inner authority? We are back after a little break and here are just a few of the questions that we are asking ourselves this week!

Those energies are always inside us, and they always want to lead us somewhere… When we listen to them, we are listening from an embodied place, deeper than the mind.

Finding ourselves, properly discovering who we are, deep beneath the surface is the very beginning of an awakening to life so much fuller than we may have ever imagined. In fact I imagine this will be one of those episodes that we revisit and listen to again and again as it’s a treasure trove of much wisdom. To hear more from Natalie, to try her meditations or classes, you can visit www.thecreateseries.com or you can listen to her podcast called Let’s Play In a nutshell, we hear a LOT of thought provoking things in this episode, we talk about the impact of life before lockdown and why we often felt so empty and unfulfilled and how if we are willing to, we can learn to expand into ourselves so that we can feel more deeply, listen to and connect with our instincts and that inner voice more regularly, Natalie talks about how to truly find ourselves so that we can BE ourselves, there’s so much in here that I know you’ll love! Natalie Roy is a Canadian actress and brings such a rich conversation to this episode. I invited her on last year after hearing her speak on our emotional anatomy and instantly knew she was someone we would enjoy hearing more from. We had talked about doing something around last Christmas but it didn’t pan out which looking back, I’m really glad about as I think the timing is so much better now as I think we are all that much more open to discover or at least consider that deeper connection within ourselves with the hopes of finding peace from within, because calming the storm on the inside is surely the only way to survive the storm on the outside – and boy does it feel like we are in the midst of one at the moment! So Natalie is an actress who lives in New York, you might recognise her from Law and Order, The Affair or Finding Erica, she’s an author, a fellow podcaster and most importantly is someone who embraces all aspects of what it means to be human – she’s a teacher of yoga and meditation and has some fantastic insight into what it means to be human, we cover a lot of ground from the spiritual to the practical, to how to go about creating our new normal to be one that serves us well, understanding why we meditate and that 3 minutes really is enough, we touch on the quantum realm, holding loss and fear at the same time as growth and opportunity – there is so much ahead and I really hope that you enjoy listening. If you’d like to check out some of those meditations or courses that Natalie spoke about, go to www.thecreateseries.com and don't forget the podcast Let’s Play I think a great take away from this is being curious about the evidence we are collecting and I’d love to hear how that impacts how you feel going forwards so please do reach out to Natalie and also do continue with conversations on our Facebook Group page. My website is here or you can find me on social media by searching for Pipa Gordon. Thank you for listening
