Spiritual Warfare Jeffrey Wilson pt 1 There is a forgotten group of heroes that, basically, fly under the radar while suffering silently with things they have seen, things they have experienced and things that were expected of them and things that were done by them. But then, unable to talk about with anyone. Not even their family. I'm talking about military veterans, mainly combat vets, special operations vets, etc. Many of the things they participated in were – and still are – classified. They cannot just go around telling anyone things they have witnessed or participated in. This adds to their problems with re-integrating in society. Even after all these years, there are many, many veterans out there suffering. Even from back in the Vietnam war era. Our guest today participated in some of these operations, with special ops forces and he has witnessed, first hand, some of the problems faced by our veteran heroes today. Jeffrey Wilson has worked as an actor, firefighter, paramedic, jet pilot, and diving instructor, as well as a vascular and trauma surgeon. He served in the US Navy for fourteen years and made multiple deployments as a combat surgeon with an East Coast–based SEAL Team. The author of three award-winning supernatural thrillers, The Traiteur's Ring, The Donors, and Fade to Black, and the acclaimed faith-based thriller War Torn. He has partnered with another Navy veteran, Brian Andrews, who served on a fast-attack submarine and is the author of three critically acclaimed high-tech thrillers: Reset, The Infiltration Game and The Calypso. They have partnered together to write a best-selling book series, “Tier One.”  This book series is so successful, it is being developed for film and television as well. Amen! Andrews & Wilson have multiple projects under development for film and television with major motion picture studios and producers including: Skydance, PictureStart, Walden Media, Imagine Television, Sony, Fifth Season/Endeavor Content, Hutch Parker Entertainment, and Cross Pictures. Amen! I said all of that to bring to the topic of our discussion today, which is a Faith based series written along the same lines, titled “The Shepherds.” This is a Christian thriller series that will make us think about what we truly believe concerning spiritual warfare and the Christian response to a crisis. This is a fictional book, but the battles depicted are not fictional. Amen! Help me welcome to the program, Jeffrey Wilson!  Jeffrey, it is such a blessing to have you with us today! I do appreciate your time. First question I always start with is this. Other than that brief information I just shared, can you share with us in your own words, “Who is Jeffrey Wilson?” First, thank you for service to this nation. As a former Cavalry officer, I just have to recognize the service of our veterans every chance I get. I appreciate all the sacrifices you and others have made that go unnoticed and unspoken in behalf of this nation.  My step-son was a Navy Seal for 20+ years and, unfortunately, died in 2011 while serving as a private contractor after he retired. I said all that because, “I get it” concerning your passion for helping our veterans. I do appreciate all...

In this episode of In Search of the Crystal Skull, Patricia and Arun conclude Fantasy Month with the 2005 live action film adapation of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis produced by Walt Disney Studios and Walden Media. There are four children named Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy who were sent to live with a professor after their home was threatened by bomb attacks during World War II. When playing hide and seek, Lucy discovers a wardrobe that took her to a magical land named Narnia where she meets a faun named Tumnus. Lucy tries explaining to her siblings what she discovered, but they don't believe her. Eventually, they enter into Narnia after trying to hide from the housekeeper for breaking a window to the house. Edmund meets The White Witch and promises to bring his siblings to her in exchange to being king and Peter, Susan, and Lucy tries to rescue Edmund after learning that The White Witch is evil and trying to prevent fulfilling a prophecy that she would be defeated by the lion Aslan and four humans who were destined to be kings and queens of Narnia. When the film premiered in theaters, it made over $745 million dollars on a $180 million dollar budget. It was praised for being an faithful adaptation of the book while being epic, adventurous, featuring a stellar cast, and visually stunning with his cinematography, settings, and special effects. However, it has since been lost in the shuffle since it came out during the peak of fantasy film adaptations of The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter films. It currently has a 76% on Rotten Tomatoes. Did Patricia and Arun conclude Fantasy Month finding treasure or a major disappointment? It's 'Part Two' this week's @EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/ and this time, we bring you three vastly different, BUT, very good films!, Starting on Apple TV+ with a story of friendship from the future, then it's over to Netflix for a book adaptation that hits a racial & cultural nerve. And then, what could be this generation's 'Love Jones'! 'Finch' is a new dystopian feature on Apple TV+, directed by Miguel Sapochnik and written by Craig Luck & Ivor Powell. On a post-apocalyptic earth, Tom Hanks is Finch, a man who embarks on a moving and powerful journey to find a new home for his unlikely family—his beloved dog and a newly created robot—in a dangerous and ravaged world. Rebecca Hall adapts ‘Passing', Nella Larsen's celebrated 1929 novel of the same name for the big screen! It tells the story of two Black women, Irene Redfield (Tessa Thompson) and Clare Kendry (Ruth Negga), who can “pass” as white but choose to live on opposite sides of the color line during the height of the Harlem Renaissance in late 1920s New York. After a chance encounter reunites the former childhood friends one summer afternoon, Irene reluctantly allows Clare into her home, where she ingratiates herself to Irene's husband (André Holland) and family, and soon her larger social circle as well. As their lives become more deeply intertwined, Irene finds her once-steady existence upended by Clare. 'Really Love' is directed by Angel Kristi Williams and co-written by Felicia Pride. Set in contemporary Washington D.C., a rising black painter, Isaiah (Kofi Siriboe) strives to break into the competitive art world, while balancing a bittersweet romance he never expected with a strong & ambitious law student, Stevie (Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing) with her own dreams, aspirations, and desires. Box, #1 New York Times bestselling author) national bestseller Deep State. When a series of devastating cyber attacks rock the United States, Hayley Chill is tasked by the “deeper state” to track down their source. NSA analysts insist that Moscow is the culprit, but that accusation brings plenty of complications with Hayley directing the president as a double agent against the Russians. With increasing pressure on the president to steer him towards a devastating war, it’s up to Hayley to stop the mysterious computer hacker and prevent World War III—while also uncovering some shocking truths about her own life. Magnificently crafted and superbly unpredictable, Savage Road is an edge-of-your-seat political thriller ideal for our times. Biography Chris Hauty was born in San Antonio, Texas, and is a graduate of Reed College. He began his professional writing career with “Don Coyote”, a contemporary interpretation of Cervantes’ “Don Quixote” with Jonathon Lynn attached to direct. In place of our normal intro this week, Joe made me offer a disclaimer about my behavior during the podcast. I tried to loosen up to promote a more relaxed vibe, so I drank a bunch of White Claws while we were recording. It worked pretty well at first, but by the end of the episode I was more or less incoherent. (No laws when you’re drinkin’ claws, baby! Woo!). In case you were wondering, now it’s clear: Joe is the daddy of the podcast, and I’m baby. Some really important links down below today, so make sure to check them out. This really did turn out to be my favorite episode so far. First, we talked about which Democratic presidential candidates are getting the most billionaire donations (3:15). Mayor Pete was the big winner (i.e., loser): 23 billionaires! Bernie was the big loser (i.e., winner) with zero billionaire donations. Chad introduces us to Philip Anschutz (11:30), a conservative evangelical media mogul and real estate bigwig. He’s one of the richest we’ve covered so far and his empire is so large that we had to skip over some interesting aspects of what he does. We chose to focus on his media ownership, which includes Walden Media (see links below for some truly horrifying trailers). Walden, along with Anschutz’s Foundation for a Better Life, are ideology mills for what Chad is calling “market morality,” the notion that the being a moral person begins and ends with individuals exchanging good deeds with other individuals. It’s morality for people who think “there’s no such thing as society.” Joe talks about David Sun (38:00) co-founder of Kingston Technologies. He ends up not saying a whole lot about David Sun other than that Sun is involved with flash memory. That factoid serves as a prompt for a wide-ranging discussion about memory, media, history, Victorian fantasies, epiphylogenetic memory, and even some sci-fi style speculative theorizing about the future of data storage. All of these wild ideas prompted a fairly drunk Chad to embarrassingly say the conversation was “like a mushroom trip.” Sorry everyone. CORRECTION: It is not actually clear at this point if White Claw has bad politics—we’ll keep you updated. CORRECTION: There are still laws when you are “drinking claws.” All the normal laws still apply. Among holiday season releases, the splendid new film “Wonder” has earned spectacular success—finishing second in pre-Thanksgiving box office, with enthusiastic reviews and an impressive $27 million in ticket sales. The story follows a 10-year-old with facial birth defects, braving his first year of school with support of his loving parents, Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson. Behind the scenes, “Wonder” involved surprising collaboration between conservatives and progressives in Hollywood. Participant Media produced Al Gore's global warming films and other left-leaning message movies while Walden Media is best known for family-friendly fare that affirms traditional values, like the popular “Narnia” series. Despite different histories, these two companies managed to work together backing this new film—a cinematic gem that's completely apolitical, while celebrating strong families, kindness and every-day decency. If left and right in Hollywood can get together behind the fundamental virtues the nation needs most, shouldn't our representatives in Washington make every effort to follow their example?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
