This week we cover one DCOM sequel that does not live up to the original with Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board. Justice for Chris (aka Jake T. Austin!), this could've been really good and connected to the original, but it wasn't... BUT we have High School Musical 2 next week and we are so excited!! We hope you are too!! Did you remember that Johnny Tsunami had a sequel? Easy to forget because it came out 8 years later and featured a bootleg Sam. Not as melodramatic as the original but once again a turf war follows Johnny wherever he goes. Michael relates dirt boarding to his longboard days which is a stretch, but makes him feel relevant. Meanwhile Kelly thinks Jake T. Austin was too young for the role of Chris and couldn't take him seriously. Thanks for listening to this episode of DCOM Central! Hey y'all! It's Pedro and Aidan with (previously known as) Variant Podcast! We have rebranded our podcast, we are now Comic Misfits. A lot of work and dedication came with this change, but most of all, we wanted to be an original podcast that was not being confused for Variant: The Podcast, who started a podcast after us but has a much higher following. Thus, we are Comic Misfits! Our core values remain the same, we aim to bridge the gap between the novice and the superfan within the fandom, so that won't change (just our name and brand). With that being said, on this episode of Comic Misfits, we continue right along our journey through the DC Animated Universe as we talk all things Teen Titans: Judas Contract. Teen Titans: Judas Contract is the 9th film in the DCAU, and it was released in April 2017! The movie is based on The Judas Contract by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez and is the sequel to Justice League vs. Teen Titans. The film features the voices of Christina Ricci, Taissa Farmiga, Miguel Ferrer, Stuart Allan, Brandon Soo Hoo, Jake T. Austin, Kari Wahlgren, Sean Maher, Gregg Henry, and Meg Foster. We give this film a solid 4/5 stars. Take a listen to our review today! UPDATE: The L.A. City Attorney’s Office has filed three charges against Henrie: carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a concealed firearm and possessing a weapon in a sterile area of the airport, ET confirms. An arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 1. If convicted, the actor could spend up to one year in jail. __ Wizards of Waverly Place star David Henrie has apologized following his arrest for possession of a loaded handgun at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday morning. Henrie took to Twitter later in the day to post his account of the incident, writing that he was “humiliated and embarrassed” by the arrest. “I take responsibility for the situation at LAX today,” the 29-year-old actor wrote. “I unintentionally brought my legally owned gun which is registered in my name to the airport. I am so sorry for any trouble it caused, but I am appreciative of TSA’s efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country. More than anything I am humiliated and embarrassed that this even happened. But I am thankful to the TSA, LAPD and all involved today for their kindness and their professionalism during this process.” pic.twitter.com/tnRCyVjgQa — David Henrie (@DavidHenrie) September 10, 2018 The LAX public information office confirmed to ET that Henrie was arrested around 9:05 a.m. PT for possession of a loaded handgun after a TSA screening in Terminal 2. ET has learned that Henrie was screened by TSA when they noticed a loaded M&P Shield 9mm pistol in his possession. The actor, who starred alongside Selena Gomez on the Disney Channel series from 2007-2012 and also appeared as Luke Mosby on How I Met Your Mother, recently announced that he and his wife, former Miss Delaware Maria Cahill, were expecting a baby girl. ”ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL. Im a Poppa!!!!!!!” Henrie captioned a video of the couple’s gender reveal, just over a year after they tied the knot. “Im so overwhelmed with joy I had to share this with you guys. I’m already singing “I Loved Her First”. I can’t wait to sit her down on a couch and tell her a 9 season story of How I Met Your Mother .” View this post on Instagram ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL. Im a Poppa!!!!!!! “Creativity & spirituality are the same thing.”Today my friends, you are in for a divine treat! I'm obsessed with Kristin and Natalie's podcast and now they are here on the pod sharing their work with us.Kristin and Natalie are both true creatives living fully self-expressed. Natalie is and access, author, and spiritual teacher and Kristin is a director, writer, and a producer. Together, they co-founded The C.R.E.A.T.E. Series and teach how the universal laws work in our creative process, why pleasure and play are necessary, and sharing the metaphysical truth behind the pathway to your dreams. In this episode, we talk all about the creative process and how this is truly a spiritual practice. Doing your dharma means learning to dance with the muse, work with the universe, and practice a whole lot of faith, trust, and grace. Kristin and Natalie also touch on the art of surrendering and the fact that we're not in charge with our visions - the universe is and it's guiding us.Lastly, we talk about how when things get hard and the growing pains get real, it means that the creative process is working. And, that this is the time to rise because the universe is always working in your favor and is supporting your growth. This is such a fun episode and I hope you love it just as much as I did. So, come hang out with us for the hour!About Kristin & Natalie:Natalie Roy is an actress, author and spiritual teacher. She's performed and taught all over the world on stage and screen and has appeared in The Affair, Law and Order: SVU, The Detour, Power, The Following, Being Erica, Murdoch Mysteries and in two films directed by award-winning director Sidney Furie. Natalie brings together the practices and techniques of meditation, mindfulness and “learned optimism” with the artistic process. She Co-Founded C.R.E.A.T.E with her best friend Kristin Hanggi!Kristin Hanggi's passion for connecting artists with holistic tools to develop and sustain their careers led her to co-found C.R.E.A.T.E. The Tween entertainment reporter...red carpet interviewer...and Princess of the Press PIPER REESE meets up with the one and only MARIA CANALS-BARRERA! It's a DOUBLE episode, baby!! You guys always ask what people are REALLY like. Well, you can tell that Maria is BEAUTIFUL, but she is just INCREDIBLY sweet (no...not just saying that because she's from South Florida too!). Make sure you watch the outtake at the end! Not only did she stay on the carpet at "Mars Needs Moms" extra time at the end for PIPER, but she even pulled her over when other people were doing interviews. Her daughters are beautiful (and very patient with all these camera-people). David Barrera is super-nice too...PiPeRiFiC family! THIS is SUPER-KEWL timing!!!! We haven't posted an interview with RYAN OCHOA since before "PAIR OF KINGS" launched! WELL...yesterday we caught up with RYAN at the HOLLYWOOD PREMIERE for RIO (Ryan was out supporting Jake T. Austin - he voices Ferando). Ryan talked about TONIGHT'S "PAIR OF KINGS" (of course, this is all based on the day we're uploading this - so it could be confusing...tomorrow). Well, tonight's episode is ALSO one that PIPER was at the taping for! EVEN BETTER, RYAN'S brother RAYMOND OCHOA is in this one too...and PIPER got to talk to him also! So, to avoid any further temporal-confusion - just go watch this super-kewl interview with Lanny himself...Ryan Ochoa! Welcome to another episode of Behind the Scenes with Eric Fell and Shaun Stewart! Your compadres want to tell you about some of the new movies coming out this month in theatres and on DVD. Today we check out the DVD release of 'Hotel For Dogs', followed by a look at 'The Uninvited' and 'What Doesn't Kill You'. Enjoy! “Hotel for Dogs” stars Emma Roberts, Jake T. Austin, Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Dillon and Don Cheadle in a smart, funny comedy adventure that shows how far love and imagination can take you. When their new guardians forbid 16-year old Andi (Roberts) and her younger brother, Bruce (Austin) to have a pet, Andi has to use her quick wit to help find a new home for their dog, Friday. The resourceful kids stumble upon an abandoned hotel and using Bruce’s talents as a mechanical genius, transform it into a magical dog-paradise for Friday – and eventually for all Friday’s friends. When barking dogs make the neighbors suspicious, Andi and Bruce use every invention they have to avoid anyone discovering “who let the dogs in.” Based on Kim Jee-Woon's 2003 Korean horror film, “Changhwa Hongryon,” “The Uninvited” revolves around Anna (Emily Browning), who returns home after spending time in the hospital following the tragic death of her mother. Her recovery suffers a setback when she discovers her father (David Strathairn) has become engaged to her mother’s former nurse, Rachel (Elizabeth Banks). That night, Anna is visited by her mother's ghost, who warns her of Rachel's intentions. Together, Anna and her sister (Arielle Kebbel) try to convince their father that his current fiancée is not who she pretends to be, and what should have been a happy family reunion becomes a lethal battle of wills between stepdaughters and stepmother. Brian and Paulie are two young punks running loose on the hard streets of South Boston. Coming from separate but equally broken homes, the boys bond of friendship makes them brothers. They do whatever it takes to survive, living by the code of their dog eat dog neighborhood. As Brian (Mark Ruffalo) and Paulie (Ethan Hawke) get older, petty crimes and misdemeanors grow into more serious offenses. Eventually, they fall under sway to the organized crime boss Pat Kelly (Brian Goodman) who runs the felonious backroom businesses and illicit trades in Southie. They also find themselves the targets of unwanted attention from Detective Moran (Donnie Wahlberg) one of Boston’s finest. . Be sure to check out more Behind the Scenes! We screen 3 episodes a week.
