Brandon held a spoiler livestream for Koloss Head Munching Day 2023 (his birthday). Our podcast crew is still antsy for some action, but they're going to have to settle for information. Some very interesting factoids coming out of a conversation between Siri and Lightsong, but the really juicy tidbits are from a brief glimpse of Vasher and Nightblood. See how the crew spins these bits of info into theories of gold on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!
Emily is SO right yet SO WRONG about SO MANY THINGS. Jasnah is STILL dead (no she's not - Emily), and another of Shallan's mentors joins her in her fate. Kaladin has to walk 10 flights of stairs. Eshoni gets a makeover. Vasher begrudgingly takes on a new student. There is no Nightblood. Check out the ‘My Sister Made Me a Playlist' on Spotify. We add a new song for each episode. ¡Hola Retornados! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/esquirlas-del-cosmere/message
Our Warbreaker episode is FINALLY HERE! Emily and Meg are joined by honorary sibling and friend-of-the-pod: TED! We cover the ENTIRE novel of Warbreaker, talk about how everyone got into it/the Cosmere, talk about our fun theories, and of COURSE we stan Nightblood! (who has never done anything wrong in the history of EVER). Make sure to catch Ted's podcast about the 90's/'00's book series The Animorphs at www.animorphology.com and on Twitter at @animorphology
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/esquirlas-del-cosmere/message
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/esquirlas-del-cosmere/message
This week, we're talking about Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson! Join us as we discuss magic systems, talking swords, and the power of character growth. Warbreaker is a stand-alone novel set in the Cosmere Universe, set on Nathlis, the shard world of Endowment. The magic is called Awakening, and is similar to the magic system which we discussed in The Emperor's Soul, and is based on the magic of Invested “Breaths”. In the book, Siri is sent to her sister Vivenna's place for the marriage to the God King of Hallandren. Vivenna goes to try to rescue her, and ends up becoming a mercenary. Shenanigans ensue, and we also meet everyone's favourite talking sword, Nightblood (we love Nightblood in this house). We have a spoilers of key plot moments and characters plot twists in this book+ some other cosmere , because we couldn't help ourselves. So please please check below if you're reading or planning this book because it will spoiler the book! Warbreaker: to how they become a returned, and Lightsong's backstory, and the main twist to Lightsong's returned status. Vashers backstory, and end of book spoilers for him.The Final Empire: what allomancy/feremocy is, and Sazeds' backstoryThe Emperor's soul: what forging/ awakening is.Way of Kings: a reference to a subtle cosmere Easter Egg which is in Way of Kings, and a world hopper. Long ago, in the ancient days of 2016, we did a podcast back when we called this Shardkeepers, about Nightblood and Corrupted Investiture. With the advent of Oathbringer (Oathbringer spoilers in this podcast, by the way), we have not only seen more Nightblood, but we've also had a lot more Words of Brandon about it. Oh, and we're going to talk about Azure's Shardblade, too, because that's a pretty big deal. Today we have Eric (Chaos), Ian (WeiryWriter), and Matt (Comatose). Check out our previous Nightblood podcast (where I really didn't know how to edit audio nearly as well): https://soundcloud.com/17thshard/the-shardkeepers-podcast-corrupted-investiture-and-nightblood Email your Who's That Cosmere Character to whosthatcosmerecharacter@gmail.com 17th Shard: http://www.17thshard.com 17th Shard Discord: https://discordapp.com/invite/bMAUS5c Subscribe to Shardcast: http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:102123174/sounds.rss
Welcome back to Meta Station, for our VERY LAST SEASON FOUR RECAP *sniffles* *wipes tear* We continue to be full of all-caps love for the bonkers action movie thrill ride of “Praimfaya” and have a great deal of high-pitched screaming about everything from the Murphy/Monty bromance we never knew we needed to how canon Bravenlarke has never felt so achievable (a fact you will hear us casually pitch to the writers no less than four separate times). Along the way, Erin names the space kids “Motleykru,” we’re hyped to finally get the Emori/Raven girl geek teamup we’ve been craving since last season, and the fact that we contained the Bellarke flails to 25 minutes out of a 4.5+ hour two-parter is honestly pretty impressive, given ALL THAT GODDAMN FACE-TOUCHING. Thank you to everyone who has come alone on this rollercoaster with us! What! A podcast from 17th Shard that *isn't* Splintercast Reads A Book? I know, it does seem crazy, but it's true. Welcome to the Shardkeepers Podcast, our theory podcast where we discuss all sorts of minutiae of the cosmere. As I learned when recording, this usually results in headaches, but we make that sacrifice for you. Today, we're going to talk about an amazing quote that we got earlier this year about Nightblood: Blightsong: How does corrupted investiture work, like Nightblood. Brandon: Oh, Nightblood. Again, this is a definition of what somebody feels is a corruption. For instance, there are spren people would feel are corrupted. But that is corruption where the mixing of different shards has changed things, and I think a lot of times when people say corruption, people are meaning the mixing of shards powers. Blightsong: So is there a mixing of shards power with Nightblood? Brandon: *smirks* RAFO. That's the natural question, I'm glad you asked it. There's so much to unpack from this. Let's get started. On Shardkeepers you should expect massive spoilers from cosmere books. Beware! Here there are big spoilers for Warbreaker and Stormlight Archive. Joining me is Kerry (KChan), David (Windrunner), and Ian (WeiryWriter) who should better be known as the quote master, because I don't know how he finds those so fast. We're all thrilled to have awaken (get it? Ha. Hilarious) this podcast again. Again, you ask? Well there maybe was a Shardkeepers Podcast in May. Of 2013. But shhh, we do not speak of such evils. In seriousness, this is a real thing and we're excited to get this truly off the ground. The plan currently is to not bite off more than we can chew, so expect monthly episodes. Next episode will absolutely be about us unpacking stuff from Arcanum Unbounded, so stay tuned in December for that!
The whole crew (Craig, Ryan, Kenn, and Todd) is back together for this discussion of Brandon Sanderson's Warbreaker. We discuss the magic, the characters, the pacing, the humor, and the story's place in the greater Cosmere. Do Vasher and Vivenna show up in Mistborn: Secret History? What other book does Nightblood make an appearance in? Also, we finally announce our post-Sanderson podcast series, toward the end of the episode.
Concentrated Groundercast: Five minute commentary on the CW's The 100.

The Concentrated Groundercast is to-the-point commentary on the CW's The 100. Join your host, Becky B, as she talks about this CW series set 97years after a nuclear war devastated earth.
