During his time at Elevation, Wade oversaw the development of worship culture and staffing for over 20 locations and spearheaded the growth and pastoring of Elevation Worship. In addition to building worship culture across all Elevation locations, Wade was instrumental in creating the systems that allowed Elevation Worship songs to go around the world as he led the record label and touring teams. Wade was also a songwriter on several of the earlier Elevation Worship songs, being part of the writing team for songs like O Come To The Altar, Resurrecting and many more sung in churches all over the country. Serving on the overall leadership team at Elevation, Wade also led the teams that executed the weekend worship experience, oversaw service programming, and coached campus pastors on their stage hosting and preaching. Having preached on the main stage at Elevation regularly, Wade's greatest passion is to teach and coach people to develop and maintain consistent spiritual rhythms and disciplines that cultivate a heart that is grounded in personal devotion to Jesus. https://www.wadejoye.com https://www.wadejoye.com/book

On today's episode, we chat with Mack Brock! Centricity Music recording artist and songwriter Mack Brock is one of the founding members of GRAMMY Award-winning Elevation Worship. Co-penning some of Elevation's earliest hits, like RIAA certified Double Platinum® single “O Come To The Altar,” Platinum-certified “Do It Again” and Gold-certified “Resurrecting,” Brock has also written songs recorded by Phil Wickham, Jesus Culture, Passion, Pat Barrett and Bryan & Katie Torwalt, among others. After a decade with Elevation Worship, Brock released his debut, Greater Things, which garnered him a radio hit with the title-cut. The five-track Covered EP followed the next year, and 2020's SPACE cemented Brock as a bonafide solo artist. His newest single, the anthemic “Just Like You've Always Done,” which is his first for Centricity Music, was co-written with Hank Bentley and Jessie Early. The song boasts of the consistency of God yesterday, today and forever. “It's the launching pad of what we believe,” Brock says of the fresh track. “He is the same as He's always been. He's the same God that's the lead character in all the stories we've read in Scripture. He's still working miracles.” The strength of Brock's new music rides on the hope he finds in the unfolding story his family is living. The South Carolina native and his wife, Meredith, who currently serves as the CEO of Proverbs 31 Ministries, have three children. From the unexpected joy discovered in foster parenting to leaving the known to pursue the unknown, Brock writes songs to remind his own heart and encourage others that there's an all-knowing God who is sovereign over it all and is worthy of all our praise. “With my music, I'm just trying to relive all the times God has shown up,” he says. “I want to use that as a catalyst to build my faith and, hopefully, encourage others in their faith for the future as well.” mackbrock.com @mackbrock christianmusicguys.com @christianmusicguys --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/christianmusicguys/message

Repentance and God's Promised Forgiveness - November 21

Not one of us is without sin. And each of us lives with a need for consistent repentance and an active receiving of God's forgiveness. This is so crucial to living poor in spirit. The beauty of our God is that his forgiveness is promised at our repentance. There is no fear or shame in God's perfect love and mercy. May we learn to embrace this aspect of walking with the Lord rather than shy away from it. Our Scripture for today comes from Ephesians 1:7, and today's worship is O Come To The Altar by Elevation Worship featuring Chris Brown. At the beginning of November, we announced a really exciting new project we're hoping to launch January 1st, called Primeros15. For the first time we'll be offering our daily devotional for Spanish speaking believers in their original language. If God is stirring your heart to give First15 to another believer just like you, you can do so here. First15 is a daily devotional written and recorded by Craig Denison. If you would like to learn more about the First15 app, books, blogs, videos and our other resources, please visit first15.org. God Disciplines Us in Love - August 4

Discipline can be a tricky subject. Many of us have not seen discipline done well, and no one really loves being disciplined or having something they've done wrong pointed out. But something we must keep in mind with our heavenly Father is that he loves perfectly, so discipline must be a part of his perfect love. As we wrap up our week of looking at who God is, this is a crucial topic we have to look at to engage with all the ways God loves us. Our Scripture for today comes from Hebrews 12:6, and today's worship is O Come To The Altar by Elevation Worship feat. Chris Brown. More Than a Song - Discovering the Truth of Scripture Hidden in Today's Popular Christian Music

Old Testament Scripture is full of models and examples of the things to come -- things that are ultimately fulfilled in Christ. Hebrews even says they are "a shadow" not the "realities." Elevation Worship's song "O Come To The Altar" sent me on a journey to discover the significance of two altars found in the tabernacle of old. Come with me as we peek into the old covenant to better understand the new. I have a feeling it will affect the way you "come to the altar" in the future. On this episode I discuss: Taking a B.I.T.E. out of Scripture - this week's Bible Interaction Tool Exercises include: Consider a topic Historical context How bit by bit God is revealing the severity of sin to me God's charge to build a tabernacle for his dwelling among the people - Exodus 25:8-9 God's current dwelling place - 1 Corinthians 3:16 A description of the brazen altar - Exodus 27:1-8 A description of the animals to be offered on the brazen altar - Leviticus 1:1-9 How the brazen altar and the sacrifices there were designed to show the Israelites that the first step for sinful man to approach a holy God was to be cleansed by the blood of an innocent creature That the brazen altar was a place of forgiveness The sacrifices made on the brazen altar were incomplete, but Jesus' sacrifice was final and complete - Hebrews 10:1-18 The altar of incense and the specific instructions for that altar - Exodus 30:37-38 Incense as a representation of prayer Like the incense, our prayers should be continuous - Luke 18:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 The altar as a picture of the intercession of Christ on our behalf - Hebrews 7:25 Coming to the altar with confidence and a sincere heart - Hebrews 10:19-23, Hebrews 4:16     Additional Resources Lyrics An article on the brazen altar - The-Tabernacle-Place.com An article on the altar of incense - The-Tabernacle-Place.com An article on the significance of the altar of incense - GotQuestions.com This Week's Challenge Read all about the tabernacle in Exodus 26-31. You can learn about the specifics of the sacrifices and the law when you continue reading in Leviticus. Then head over to Hebrews. If you start in chapter 7 and read through chapter 10 you will see the references to the old covenant and a detailed description of the new.

As the gospel spread among the Gentiles, there was disagreement as to whether or not they were required to follow all of the Law of Moses. A conference was held in Jerusalem and it was determined that God's grace was available to all and that no unnecessary restrictions should be placed on anyone. We too are always encouraged to pursue unity, even when we may disagree on minor points. 1. The Question: What does it take to be saved? (vs. 1-5)2. The Response: We are saved through grace (vs. 6-11)3. The Judgement: Do not be a stumbling block (vs. 12-21)4. With "Home", "Come (Holy Spirit)", "Come Alive (Dry Bones)", and "O Come To The Altar" by the Praise Team, a wonderful celebration of Baptism, and "He Never Failed Me Yet" by the Victory Choir featuring Jerry Douglas and Alyssa Pendleton. All of us face dark periods in our lives (Psalms 13:1-4). We feel ANXIOUS because our problems make it seem like God has forgotten or is hiding from us (Psalm 13:1). This anxiety can lead to emotional distress (Psalm 13:2). This emotional distress leads to our daily LIVES being affected (Psalm 13:3-4). During our darkest times what we believe about God can make all the difference in the world (Psalm 13:5-6). We need to trust in God's steadfast LOVE. We need to rejoice in our SALVATION. We need to praise God, and we need to remember God's CARE in the past.
