She is releasing Season 10 of “Travels with Darley” on PBS this month so make sure to catch some of the new exciting episodes. Her visits to multiple states and different countries gave her a unique ability to talk about business travel and personal vacations. We talked about her interests in researching new locations and how she goes about deciding which location will be next. Even though she is just releasing Season 10 this month she is already making travel plans for Season 11 locations. Stepping Through Blood (New Perspectives Theatre), Serious Adverse Effects (The National Black Theatre), Regional: Learned Ladies (Centenary Stage Company), & Juliet (New Jersey Repertory Company), various roles including Constance, Olivia and Marina in Pericles, Prince of Tyre (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London). While many Americans are hitting museums, plays, art festivals, concerts, and Broadway, conversations around pandemic relief have failed to include the creative economy -- an economy that makes up $919 billion annually and employs millions of women across various sectors. The Green Room is a 5-part series premiering on Ovation TV on March 23 that explores the impacts and contributions of the arts to our society and how our economic recovery from COVID will leave thousands behind without support for working artists. Ovation TV is launching The Green Room in partnership with Be An #ArtsHero, an intersectional grassroots campaign comprised of Arts & Culture workers, Unions, and institutions pushing for relief to the Arts & Culture sector of the American economy. Nadia Brown takes viewers on a journey that spotlights so many of the incredible women doing this work with minimal opportunities for state and federal relief. Collider Ladies Night is all about paving the way from a creator’s earliest dreams and successes to their latest achievements, so who better to guest on the show than Julia Stiles? Stiles is essentially in the 90s romantic comedy hall of fame for her work in 10 Things I Hate About You. After that she joined one of the hottest action franchise out there with The Bourne Identity before securing an Emmy nomination for her performance in Dexter Season 5. And now she’s three season into leading her own series, Riviera, which just celebrated its Season 2 debut on Ovation TV on Saturday, May 8th. A lengthy list of titles right there, but we’re covering all of that and more on this edition of Collider Ladies Night! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Check out the #ContemporaryArtConversations series where I talk with curators and arts professionals about the state of the #artmarket and the after-effects of the pandemic on production, exhibition, and collection of #fineart. • I’m joined today by my buddy #MatGleason (@matgleason) of Coagula! (@coagulacuratorial) • Founder of the highly controversial Coagula Art Journal, Mat Gleason is an internationally recognized art critic and curator of contemporary art. His on-screen presence adds weight in some artist biographical films, such as "Mr. Bitchin'" (2010) and "One Man Band" (2013), where he passionately advocates for the greatness of artists Robert Williams and Llyn Foulkes, respectively. But Gleason is most known for his aversion to established orthodoxies and his fearlessness in voicing an informed opinion. In the Ovation TV series "Art Or Not?" (2007) he trashed popular fine art superstar Shepard Fairey in a memorable verbal laceration that earned him the scorn of street art fanboys and the admiration of those who would not "Obey" conventional art wisdom. • In the Bobby Sheehan-directed "Jeff Koons: Beyond Heaven" (2009), Gleason emerges as the lone voice bent on removing the emperor's clothes and critiquing the lack of substance int he artist's work and Koons' well-manicured persona. His sharp analytical tongue and ability to articulate aesthetics served him well in his biggest role to date, analyzing and critiquing the competitive body painting in "Skin Wars: Fresh Paint", the 2015-16 television series where he sat as one of the regular judges. #artabovereality

Teenagers living at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation have the highest suicide rate in the nation. Until now, the only help came from local efforts. Now authors of "The Chronicles of Ara", Steve Hillard and Joel Eisenberg are helping to fight to stop suicide for teens in the area. The authors have created a new ongoing concern that will inspire the building of arts centers in distressed economic areas.Pine Ridge is one of the largest reservations in the country. Alcoholism among residents is a continuing problem among those living on the reservation. This dates back to the founding of the reservation in the late 1880s.Nationally teen suicide is the third-leading cause of death for young people 15 to 24 years of age. This number is growing, especially in poorer communities including Pine Ridge, South Dakota. One of the best weapons to combat suicide is the introduction of creative endeavors. Studies have shown that art helps students in a number of additional ways. Having creative resources improves grades, standardized testing, and lower drop out rates. Teaching creative expression to students lowers stress and helps to reduce suicide events.Working with students is not new for Eisenberg, a former special education teacher in Los Angeles. He speaks to writers and filmmakers throughout the country about artistic pursuits. At Pine Ridge Eisenberg will be speaking to thousands of students and share his ideas on the arts, including music, dance, writing, movies and even videogames. "The Chronicles of Ara" is a fantasy novel, with sequels planned. The novel will be produced as an eight-hour mini series for Ovation TV. The authors are committed to helping the teens at Pine Ridge fight stress and depression, the leading causes of suicide.
