“Seeking adventure at every turn.  That's always been the through line and it's led me on some really cool escapades. “Growing up in Seattle, Andia Winslow discovered her love of adventure, nature, and conservation at a very young age.  Shealso discovered her love of sports and was a multi-sport athlete until becoming fully captivated by the game of golf and its relentless challenge.  That dedication led her to play collegiategolf at Yale University and make history as only the fourth African American woman to ever compete on the LPGA Tour.  An elite athlete, Andia trained with OlympicHall of Fame Track & Field Coach Brooks Johnson and was invited to join the USA Bobsled and Skeleton Federation in preparation for the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Her voice has brought life to commercials, promos, video games, narrations, audiobooks, animation, and live events.  She's broken barriersin the male-dominated world of sports voiceover, lending her beautifully textured, powerful voice to projects like Nike's U.S. Women's World Cup campaign, Brittney Griner's Coming Home audiobook, the Caitlin Clark tribute, and the Los Angeles Dodgers' 2025 Opening Day in-stadium welcome video.  Stepping out from behind the mic, Andia is now also stepping into on-camera roles, including the A League of Their Own reboot, portraying golf legend Ann Gregory in Playing Through, and in HBO Max's reimagining of the Warner Bros. “I am who I am because of all the sports that I've done and it's always been a big part of my life.” - Renee Saunders  At the University of Nebraska Renee Saunders was a two-sport Division I athlete playing both volleyball and basketball and brought home a volleyball National Championship.  At Skutt High School, she is a teacher and coach and has brought home nine Nebraska high school state volleyball championships.  As a sports broadcaster she provided color commentary for the Omaha Supernovas as they brought home the first Pro Volleyball Federation title. In 2017, she was inducted into the Nebraska Athletic Hall of Fame and is the only person to receive both Nebraska Athlete of the Year and Coach of the Year honors in the state. She owns the championship mentality. Fresh off competing in the 2023 Rebelle Rally, Jolene Bibian and Adriana Dorothy are here to tell us all about their epic adventure!  The Rebelle Rally is the longest competitive off-road race in the United States, which also happens to be just for women. Sixty-five teams competed over eight days, traveling over 2,120 kilometers, through two states with no GPS, no cell phones, and no support crews. With Jolene as the driver and Adriana as the navigator, they made up rookie Team 102: Pivot & Persist, and they learned how to do just that over the grueling endurance competition. But, after falling in love with acting her path changed and she found herself on Broadway.  She starred in numerous productions like Sweet Charity (opposite Christina Applegate), On Broadway (with Hugh Jackman), Tarzan, Catch Me If You Can, and Anything Goes. “Sports is the universal language so certainly, as a woman, sports has been able to bring me into many different conversations and has opened up so many doors for me.” - Marnie Schneider Marnie Schneider comes from football royalty. Her grandfather, Leonard Tose, was the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles and creator of the Ronald McDonald House. Her mother Susan shattered glass ceilings as the first and only woman to be legal counsel, General Manager, and Vice President of a professional football team. Growing up in this family, Marnie spent a lot of time traveling to games on a plane. One day on a flight back to Philadelphia her Walkman ran out of batteries and her mom said, “Here's a notepad. Start writing.” And so she did. On that flight she came up with the idea for her first book Football Freddie and Fumble the Dog. Now, she has turned the idea into an 8-book series, Gameday in the USA. Each book follows the loveable characters Football Freddie and Fumble the Dog as they travel to different cities learning about various NFL teams and the rich history and culture of each city. The books are a hit with kids and encourage them to experience the joy of reading, sports, and traveling to new cities. Do the impossible tomorrow.” After years in the military, Mr. Noi dreamed of creating his own Krav Maga training center where he could share his love and knowledge of the self-defense system with others. So, he started Gateway Cities Krav Maga, an elite school in La Habra, California that offers classes to men, women, and children of all ages. In this episode, we went on a field trip to Gateway Cities to visit the school in-person and talk with Mr. Noi. He discussed what inspired him to pursue Krav Maga, the basic principles and tactics, as well as the health benefits. We also took part in the Women's Self Defense Workshop that he puts on quarterly, teaching women how to defend themselves against attacks they may be confronted with. Shortly after, she discovered her love of basketball and became one of the best high school athletes in the country, recruited by top coaches like the legendary Pat Summit. Anne played Division I college basketball and was an athletic and academic All-American at Iowa State. After leading the nation in 3-point shooting, she was invited to compete in the infamous ESPN 3-Point shooting contest. After college, she was drafted by the Sacramento Monarchs and one of the highlights of her WNBA career was having the opportunity to run up and down the court at Madison Square Garden. Following her incredible athletic career, she took her sports knowledge to TV and became a color commentator for Fox Sports.
