Serving God with the gifts that He has given us is a wonderful thing; but we must not get “Puffed Up”. To each He gives both gifts and grace. While the grace is the same for all, the gifts are different for each believer. We must use our gifts as He directs and to His […]

As we continue our time in Corinthians, we see the importance of not making much of man and his philosophies, but to rather meditate on the truth that all things are ours in Christ Jesus.

Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... I believe Jesus comes soon to remove us from this earth and judge us before the judgment seat of God. I am interested in cleaning myself up through God and through doing Bible as led by God as much as possible now before Jesus returns. I pray and read Bible to make adjustments. Prayer: Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
In our continuing series on Christian virtues, we are again looking at love. In particular, how love looks and sounds in our daily lives as we interact with others.
Humble is the way of God.. Pride can cause one to humble before crowds. Have you ever humbled yourself for God or were you humbled because of pride?Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor. We must be careful to not take from God's Glory. Puffed up, taking what does not belong to us. Always trying to show off in some way when God did it.

This is message 8 in 1 Corinthians 1 Corinthians 4 Paul is still dealing with the carnality in the church. In addition, the church of Corinth had a huge pride problem. "Puffed up" means "inflated". It is used throughout the book of Corinthians to describe their pride. Pride is having a false view of oneself. Because of this false view it affected their actions. Charity will always lead us to exalt others, not to exalt ourselves. Charity is not puffed up. It does not…
In this episode, Fr. David discusses spiritual education.
i haven’t forgotten about the math. do you want to do some quick calculations with me?okay, let’s say i listen to 50 albums per week but i accumulate an additional 40 albums every week that i add to the end of the queue. i currently have 6,450 albums in my queue. how many years will it take for me to catch up and start listening to music as it comes out?is this the correct math?: 50x = 6,450 + 40x ; x = 645 weeks / 52 weeks per year = 12.4 years.well, fart. and listening to 50 per week is a high estimate. dang, i guess maybe i need to be more selective?DOWNLOAD/STREAM RECORDING00:00 (intro by omar)00:20 Butter Boys “Let’s Go!” Butter Boys03:57 Hydropark “Calling” Circuit 206:13 SLOUCHER “Be True” Be True09:41 Ruth Garbus “Grey Sweatshirt” Kleinmeister13:06 Sun Organ “HOLE IN MY HEART” SUN ORGAN16:50 Campfires “Candle Park ” Fare Trax19:10 Tundrastomper “How Very Nice” Clean It Up22:35 Inland Island “Happy Birthday Everyone” Salbum II25:50 anxiety machine “manic impressive” sometimes i am overcome by the idea that everything is ruined29:18 Tweens “Cold Shoulder” Incomplete33:28 Emily’s Sassy Lime “Would-Be Saboteurs” Take Heed Desperate, Scared, But Social34:59 salami rose joe louis “Suddenly” Zdenka 208036:45 Sunny Slopes “Keep” Last Exit For Human Kindness33:39 Indira Valey “Haci Te Vas” Yemas42:24 DUMP HIM “Unimportant” Dykes To Watch Out For44:23 Surfin Serf “On The Run” Surface Terminus47:33 Small Axe “hreem” morning drones51:06 Dadweed “I’m Gonna Live Forever” Mighty, Always53:19 Tim The Mute “Scotland” Welcome To The Sad Cafe57:46 Zach Burba “Love Going Wrong” Your Music60:36 Dreamin Wild “Tova” Heaven in Thirty-Eleven63:42 Future Teens “Alone At A Party” Breakup Season67:35 The Groans “Garden Cat” Earth Dweller69:33 TYLER HOLMES “Everything (Will Be Destroyed)” Devil73:49 boy scouts “In Ya Too” Free Company76:32 False Advertising “You’re Too Slow” Brainless79:20 Fountain “Puffed Up” Laughing Through Traffic82:12 Meh “Cycles” Red Kite Crane83:57 Planted “To Music” Pop Music87:23 BOY HARSHER “Westerners” Country Girl Uncut

Everyone wants to grow or mature. Christians should want to grow spiritually. But the question is always, how do we grow? Paul shows us in Colossians 2:18-19 the thing of the most importance in our spiritual growth.
I discuss self-esteem, self-efficacy, and self-compassion and show how each relates to charity.
281 In this episode, I talk about several different topics and use examples of what God is not and does not do.One of the examples is love is not "puffed up" and does not parade itself.

David Casson joins Dillon and Michael to discuss how to answer the claim that the Bible should not be followed because it is internally inconsistent, the use of circular reasoning in proving any ultimate authority, and dealing with arrogant Christians. Does the Bible tell Christians to love their neighbors, but then turn around and tell them to hate or even kill certain other kinds of people? Isn't it a problem that you can't use the scientific method to prove that the Bible is true? How do you deal with arrogant Reformed people and not become like them ourselves? If you have questions you would like “Have You Not Read?” to tackle, please submit them at the link below:https://www.ssbcokc.org/have-you-not-read/
On this week's episode the guys tackle more of your difficult questions! How do we not get "puffed up" with pride and arrogance as we learn more about God's Word? How do we handle ourselves and keep our witness when we interact with dramatic and chaotic family members? How to we navigate Godly boundaries? And, what happens to peoples in remote places who are never exposed to the Gospel?
