In this episode of "Normal World," Dave Landau, 1/4 Black Garrett, and Angela unpack Hollywood's dark side, spotlighting Terry Crews' sexual assault by WME agent Adam Venit and linking it to Brendan Fraser's similar experience. They mock celebrity run-ins with paparazzi and share stories of being mobbed after shows. The focus shifts to Nancy Ruth Mace, U.S. Representative for South Carolina's 1st District since 2021, who stunned Congress by showing a nude silhouette she says her ex-fiancé secretly recorded. They then discuss Donald Trump's $175 billion “Golden Dome” missile defense plan, alien threats, and Canada's approval of assisted suicide for minors. RFK Jr. offers a dramatic takedown of the WHO's new pandemic treaty, while China pledges $500 million in support. The episode wraps with a tribute to "Cheers" icon George Wendt and reflections on classic sitcoms. In this episode of Tipsy Casting, Jess and Jenn sit down with couple curators and professional matchmakers Lauren Rosenberg and Jaydi Samuels Kuba — the dynamic duo behind LJMatchmaking and affectionately known as the “Love Agents of Hollywood.”Tune in to hear how Lauren and Jaydi each got their start in the entertainment industry, what inspired them to team up and turn their matchmaking talents into a thriving business, and how they combine showbiz instincts with heart-led strategy to help singles find something real. From insider tips and tricks for navigating online dating to the surprising ways they vet for chemistry, Lauren and Jaydi offer plenty of wisdom — including a few personalized pointers for Jessica and Jenn's own dating lives. It's part Hollywood story, part modern love guide, and all heart.Couple curators Lauren Rosenberg and Jaydi Samuels Kuba are your classic Hollywood multi-hyphenates: showbiz veterans by day, professional matchmakers by night. Known as the “Love Agents of Hollywood,” this dynamic duo has built a boutique matchmaking service that blends industry instincts with heart-centered strategy — and a track record of real-life happily-ever-afters.Jaydi, a TV writer whose credits include Family Guy, Salem, and Good Times, first launched LJMatchmaking in 2014 after spotting a major plot hole in L.A.'s dating scene: there was no go-to place for quality singles looking for something real. Her own matchmaking journey even led her to her husband, Dave — though, in true rom-com fashion, she had to “get high on her own supply” and ask him out herself.Lauren, a former TV development executive and producer (Monica The Medium, Checked Inn), has been matchmaking since her early days as an assistant at WME, where she pitched singles the way others pitched scripts. Now a talent manager at Mortar Media, she still channels her gift for spotting chemistry — both on and off screen. Fun fact: she even got engaged on a Comedy Central show (with a little help from comedian Theo Von).Together, Lauren and Jaydi pair intuition with spreadsheets, wish lists with gut instincts, and typecasts with real-life surprises — all while helping their clients cast for something deeper: lasting love.Resources: LJ Matchmaking WebsiteLJ Matchmaking InstagramJaydi Samuels Kuba IMDBLauren Rosenberg IMDBHollywoodWEST (Hollywood Women Executives Stronger Together)────────────────────────────Stay Tuned with Tipsy Casting on IGWatch the Tipsy Casting YouTube ChannelFollow Jessica & Follow Jenn Learn More About Jess & Jenn's Casting

Into the Fire: Storytelling and Survival with Phil Donlon & Gabe Mann In this week's Team Never Quit podcast, Marcus and Melanie dive deep into the art of storytelling—both on stage and in the heat of real-life danger. Our guests are two visionary filmmakers with unique, gripping perspectives on their craft: Phil Donlon, award-winning actor, filmmaker, and theater veteran, and Gabe Mann, director and cinematographer of the groundbreaking wildfire documentary Hotshot. Phil Donlon takes us through his journey from the blue-collar streets of Chicago to the bright lights of Hollywood. A founding member of The Gilead Theater Company and a passionate storyteller, Donlon shares his experiences acting in renowned theater productions, signing with WME, and ultimately finding creative fulfillment by writing and directing his own films. His latest project, High & Outside: A Baseball Noir, is now streaming worldwide. On the other end of the spectrum, Gabe Mann puts us directly in the line of fire—literally. His documentary Hotshot is a heart-pounding, first-person account of elite wildfire fighters who battle the flames without water, capturing their raw courage with breathtaking cinematography. After six years running alongside these real-life heroes, Mann shares the intensity, sacrifice, and unexpected pull of wildfire that changed his life forever. From the front lines of nature's most destructive force, this episode is about the power of storytelling, survival, and the relentless pursuit of passion. Tune in for a conversation that will leave you inspired, shaken, and ready to chase your own fire. In this episode you will hear: • There's something about when you witness wildfire firsthand. It does something to you. The actual firefighters call it “The Firebug.” It taps into something primal in men. I caught it. (6:00) • Most of the photojournalists who actually do this right, are former firefighters. They actually have that certification. But for the most part, the kinds of people who are reporting for the Washington Post or The New York Times – they have no clue. (7:56) • I'm a storyteller. So however I'm doing it, whether I'm an actor, whether I'm producing something, writing it – I just want to tell good stories. (9:46) • We wanted to make a film that played like a narrative feature. (11:15) • They're so distracted with the climate change narrative, which really has nothing to do with wildfires. It's the accumulation of fuel. (12:08) • I'm the only dude in LA who's actually from LA. (12:37) • When you continue to put it on something that we don't have control over – like the weather – it's a completely disempowering narrative. (14:04) • A wildfire is composed of 3 things. It's called a fire triangle. You need all 3: Drought, Fuel, Ignition. (17:02) • People were crying over all these giant Redwoods and Sequoias that were getting burned down back in 2020. And nobody ever asked the very obvious question. These trees are 2,000 years old, but the fire cycle in that forest is once every 300 years – you get a purging wildfire – How did get to be 2,000 years old? What happened 2,000 years ago that made these trees so robust? (17:39) • There's some people who have this gene that compels them to serve their country. (25:32) • If we can get some people in Washington to see this film, I think we could help make change. (27:03) • We have agency over wildfire. We can be proactive. We could solve it tomorrow, if we know what we're supposed to do. If we look at what a hotshot crew does – literally all they do is get rid of plants. They're either cutting them or burning them. That's it. They don't use water. (28:05) • We started the film with a question. I think doing that gives people the opportunity to engage with the art in the appropriate way, which is – they answer the question. (47:34) • Our motto when we were making this film was “Show, don't tell.” (52:22) • This is what art is for. It is for explaining and getting people to feel the things that you cannot adequately convey with words. At the age of 7, horse mad Andrea Rapke Knowles, was told by her father that if she stopped sucking her thumb he would buy her a pony. At the advice of a family friend with a beautiful barn on her property, a pony was chosen (a Welsh Cob terror name Gee Whiz), boarded with the friends and their training began. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Loma Alta, owned and run by Penny Wahler in Santa Cruz, California, and her first Warmblood was purchased to begin Children's Hunters / Equitation and a taste of horse shows. In 1989, they moved to G & G Stables in Los Angeles, CA with Rob Gage and Cyndi Grossman at LAEC. Quite a few amazing and life-changing horses took them around the state and beyond on the show circuit. Rob and Cyndi were amazing trainers and friends, as were the incredible assistant trainers, including Richard Spooner. Sadly, school took over and Andrea was then educated in Lugano, Switzerland and London, England, graduating with a double major in Art History and English Literature. Feeling passionately about the art business brought her to positions at Sotheby's, Christie's and Guggenheim, Asher, a NY & LA based art consultancy. Additionally, she received corporate training at WME & CAA in Los Angeles. Her love of art and design began in childhood where, at a young age, she was already attending auctions and picking fabrics and furnishings for her family's homes. This life-long interest led her to her first professional residential renovation in 2009, the creation of her own firm and the building of a business focused on true collaborations, a knowledge of the newest trends in design/build and a holistic and discrete approach to every venture. Now, she is bringing stable life back into the fold with work on Equine Residences throughout the US and abroad. She is involved in a multitude of charitable foundations focused on homelessness, animal care and rescue and childhood illness. She resides with her husband and two Jack Russell Terriers in Beverly Hills, California. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are making headlines, but not for their performances in “It Ends With Us.” We are breaking down the mess and going over Lively's recently filed lawsuit against Baldoni in this live stream.Disclaimer for Podcast Episode :The California Civil Rights Department, where Lively filed her complaint, has 60 days to determine whether they will investigate the case. According to legal expert Doll, the department may first attempt to mediate a resolution between Lively, Baldoni, and Wayfarer Studios, whom Lively is also suing. If no settlement is reached, the department would issue a "right to sue" letter, allowing Lively to proceed with her claim in court. While settlements are common in Hollywood, this particular complaint could go possibly go to trial due to the nature of the allegations.Baldoni was dropped by WME, his agency, following the lawsuit.https://deadline.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/blake-lively-CCRD-filing.pdfWatch on PopCrimeTV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lOl7m35eOM Hosted on Acast. Victor Gomez, West BU Manager overseeing sales and operations for the West Coast, discusses his work at the Timberview project for Truebeck. His team is installing and testing a remote monitoring and smart control system for two Tampa 1000 heaters and one R15000 desiccant dehumidifier. The system includes components like lay-flat ducting for air distribution and a WE sensor with a WME probe installed on trusses to measure wood moisture content across multiple floors. This setup ensures accurate environmental monitoring as the wood structure acclimates. The project emphasizes controlling ambient and wood moisture conditions as the wood structure is enclosed. Proper acclimation prevents defects like checking (cracks or splits in the wood). By monitoring conditions with the XactiR system, the team can adjust dehumidification and heating to maintain optimal moisture levels. This is particularly crucial during seasonal transitions, such as Portland's shift from wet winters to moist springs. The system's precision prevents rapid changes that could harm the wood, ensuring structural integrity.Key Points:Installation/testing of XactiR remote monitoring system with smart controllers.Equipment includes Tampa 1000 heaters, R15000 dehumidifiers, and WE sensors with WME probes.Monitors ambient and wood moisture to prevent defects during acclimation.Seasonal changes necessitate fine-tuned dehumidification and heating to protect the structure.Goal: Gradual acclimation of wood to avoid cracking or damage. This system supports proactive adjustments, ensuring the building's wooden elements remain durable and defect-free during construction.

The Making of Moon Man“So, as we started talking and going through what this could look like. I run a creator-owned superhero universe at Image Comics called the Massive-Verse, which is spearheaded by the main book I write called Radiant Black. I like to describe it as it's like Power Rangers with adult problems. It's very contemporary kind of reimaginings of superhero storytelling for the 2020s. So in that context, talking about what any type of new superhero and, in this case, what a new black superhero in 2024 could look like, what the threats would be, what the world might look like if it's maybe not even five minutes in the future. I would argue it's like two and a half minutes in the future. And then what kind of really complex, emotionally layered journey we could put this character through?” -Kyle Higginsmoonmancomics.com https://imagecomics.comhttps://www.imdb.com/name/nm3556462/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1www.creativeprocess.infowww.oneplanetpodcast.orgIG www.instagram.com/creativeprocesspodcastAudio of Scott Mescudi courtesy of Mad Solar and Moon Man Comic Book Release and Revenge Of (Eagle Rock, CA, Jan 31, 2024)

The irony is that now so many of those science fiction stories have probably been used to feed the AI training algorithms that they are now repurposing and ripping off. So it's very ironic in that regard to me. I've heard artists refer to AI as a plagiarism machine, and I do think that's a very apt descriptor. I have a lot of friends who are affected by this. And these tech companies think if we can make it easier and cheaper to capture some aspect of the human spirit and then, by God, isn't that best for shareholders?” -Kyle Higginsmoonmancomics.com https://imagecomics.comhttps://www.imdb.com/name/nm3556462/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1www.creativeprocess.infowww.oneplanetpodcast.orgIG www.instagram.com/creativeprocesspodcastAudio of Scott Mescudi courtesy of Mad Solar and Moon Man Comic Book Release and Revenge Of (Eagle Rock, CA, Jan 31, 2024)
