Growing up in Townsville, Elle Armit grew up swimming and playing in water. As she got older, that turned into a passion for water polo that saw her play overseas, before ultimately representing Australia at two Olympics. With the Stingers, she won silver in Paris, helping them become the most successful Australian water polo team ever at an overseas Olympic Games. While training daily and working her day job as a teacher, Elle is told she's being dropped from the team. Her coach says she’s not ready, that Elle is standing in the way of her own success. There's no way your Thursday wouldn't be complete without a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast to wrap up your week, would it? Of course not. Thankfully, the gang was back with a fresh episode of Real Life. The guys kicked off the podcast with a random collection of sports, including the recent passing of Jellybean Bryant and Wanye's question about why he was unaware that Jellybean played in the NBA. After a quick Googling on the topic, it turns out that the answer is a lot sadder than anyone expected. Sticking with sports, Tyler wanted to know what events are missing from the summer Olympics and whether the boys could improve the games with some new events. As expected, every potential event the fellas recommended was completely ridiculous and 1000% not likely to happen. Changing gears, Tyler read a bunch of Gen-Z words that were added to the dictionary, and the boys had to guess what all of these words meant. As expected, fellas in their late 30s and early 40s were completely lost on basically everything, making everyone in the studio feel incredibly old once again. Looking around the local sports scene, the discussion turned to how the Riverhawks and Stingers have found a way to inspire Edmontonians while the Elks still struggle to get people through the door. Outside of the team obviously being awful, there has to be a way to get the city more engaged with a team that used to be hugely popular for decades.
Welcome to episode 190 of the Campus Comics Cast . If you hear a long pause during the recording, it is probably because one of us is busy watching the Olympics instead of focusing in on the pre-orders for items generally shipping in Ocotber. It was a jam packed final hour of today's show! But as always, they started off with Mr. Mikes ‘Kind of Easy Trivia.' They then transitioned to ‘Three Questions Too Many' from Park Mazda. The Edmonton Stingers head coach Jordan Baker stopped by give the nasties some insight on the season. He also gave a quick preview of the Stingers west semi finals game on Sunday. And there was no ‘Scalding Hot Takes' yesterday, so for the first time in the history of EST the boys did 'Scalding Hot Takes' presented by Clayburn Services on a Friday! And today the hot takes pick was up for grab! The boys finished the show with ‘The Wrap' for William Huff.
The boys start off the second hour with ‘MMMMMMM That's Good' to discuss just how good it is to be in attendance for the stingers game. We then did a quick ‘Goat Trivia' for a chance to win some Stingers tickets. Right before the boys hit their Coolbet ‘Hotline of The Day.' Eric Macramalla was our one and only guest today. It was a new week but the same Macramalla as always. To finish the hour, the boys and the nasties came up with an all-time idea. The EST Games. The boys finished the hour discussing potential games for this tournament
The fellas are back with another edition of The Nielson Show! The boys started the show giving some love to YTT for making his first appearance on The Oil Stream! They then shed some light on the Stingers game that the Nielson clan was in attendance for. And we played Dusty's video of the game winner, the reaction was priceless. The boys then hit ‘Morning Announcements' presented by 100.3 The Bear to recap all that transpired last night. In the middle of the hour, the fellas dove into more Tre Ford discussion as it look like he will be the starting QB in the next game against Saskatchewan! To finish the hour there was a little bit more basketball conversation, as the guys were keeping tabs on team Canada vs team Australia during the first hour.

Your Monday wouldn't be complete without a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast, would it? Of course not. This week, the fellas covered summer activities in Edmonton, expanding the Savannah Bananas, and whatever other random topics popped into mind as the recording wore on.The guys kicked off the Monday episode of Real Life with a discussion about summer living in Edmonton and how it's time to get into other activities now that the Oilers are done. Talking about summer activities led Baggedmilk to talk about his love for the Edmonton Stingers after attending his first game of the season last night. Talking about the Stingers' success had the guys wondering if other leagues would benefit from adding zany activations as part of their game day festivities. From there, the boys had a tough time keeping the podcast on the rails. As much as they tried to talk about single topics, they couldn't stick to any one thing for more than a few seconds. Tyler started talking about going to a movie with his niece, which somehow kicked off a conversation about the boys buying ice cream machines and trying military rations. Would it make sense to eat MREs for some Real-Life summer content? Yes.Finally, steering the podcast back to the Oilers, the fellas talked about the team's Stanley Cup odds and how it's wild to see them so heavily favoured at this point. If you're into betting, would you put your money down on the Oilers as favourites or should you wait a little bit for the excitement to die down? The guys also talked how the Oilers can get cap compliant given that they're currently $354K over the salary cap with Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway left to sign. Hosted on Acast. Randy Wayne White is the bestselling and award-winning author of the prolific and longstanding Doc Ford series. In 2022, Randy endured Hurricane Ian on Sanibel Island in Florida, which caused historic damage, destroying houses and knocking out the only bridge to the island. Randy stayed on the island through the storm, unreachable for a tenuous period. Now, he's rebuilding, like everyone else on the island. This dramatic experience became the inspiration for his new Doc Ford novel ONE DEADLY EYE (Hanover Square Press) as Ford rides out the deadliest storm to hit the island in a century and tries to stop a gang of criminals who swoop in to take advantage of the evacuation and pillage and kill, during the twelve hours of chaos that follow the passing of a storm's dangerous eye. Here, White combines his expertise of nature writing, Florida, and masterful craft of crime thrillers, to bring us ONE DEADLY EYE. MORE ABOUT THE BOOK: A Russian diplomat disappears while Doc is tagging great white sharks in South Africa, and members of a criminal brotherhood, Bratva, don't think it's a coincidence. They track the biologist to Dinkin's Bay Marina on the west coast of Florida, where Brotherhood mercenaries have already deployed, prepared to pillage and kill in the wake of an approaching hurricane. No one, however, is prepared for a cataclysmic event that will forever change the island and leaves Doc to deal with escapees from Russia's most dangerous prison, including a serial killer—the Vulture Monk—who has a taste for blood. His only ally is an enigmatic British inventor whose decision to ride out the storm might have more to do with revenge than protecting a priceless art collection. Doc has a lot at stake—the lives of his fiancée, Hannah Smith, and their son, plus the fate of his hipster pal, Tomlinson, whose sailboat has disappeared in the Gulf of Mexico. The greatest threat of all, though, is a force that cannot be escaped—a Category Five hurricane that, minute by minute, melds sins of the past with Florida's precarious future. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Randy Wayne White is the New York Times bestselling and award-winning author of the Doc Ford series. In 2011, White was named a Florida Literary Legend by the Florida Heritage Society. A fishing and nature enthusiast, he has also written extensively for Outside Magazine, National Geographic Adventure, Men's Journal, Playboy and Men's Health. He lives on Sanibel Island, Florida, where he was a light-tackle fishing guide for many years, and spends much of his free time windsurfing, playing baseball, and hanging out at Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille. Sharks Incorporated is his middle grade series, including Fins and Stingers. For more info on the book click HERE
