On today’s podcast: Volkswagen ID 4 GTX is performance EV flagship Volkswagen ID.5 teased Skoda starts Enyaq deliveries in Norway GM Ultium Charge 360 Electric Ford Mustang Mach-E to pace NASCAR Talladega Cup Series race Tesla’s head of UI departs Hyundai Kona Electric discontinued in Korea Third VW Plant In China Under Construction     Show #1066   Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world, welcome to EV News Daily for Thursday 29th April. It’s Martyn Lee here and I go through every EV story so you don't have to.   Thank you to MYEV.com for helping make this show, they’ve built the first marketplace specifically for Electric Vehicles. It’s a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too.   VOLKSWAGEN ID 4 GTX IS PERFORMANCE EV FLAGSHIP "The GTX’s powertrain comprises a 201bhp permanent magnet synchro machine (PSM) on the rear axle, and an asychronous motor (ASM) on the front axle. The two motors combine for 295bhp, although Volkswagen has yet to confirm the torque output. The system can power the ID 4 GTX from rest to 62mph in 6.2sec, with top speed limited to 112mph.  When it goes on sale, the range-topping version of the electric SUV will be the first ID model to use the new GTX badge" says Autocar: "While the GTI line is centred around the Golf, Volkswagen has chosen to use the ID 4 for the first GTX model because of both the growing importance of the SUV market and the decision to use a twin-motor powertrain, which the smaller ID 3 hatch is unable to accommodate."   "The Volkswagen ID.4 GTX is on sale in Germany now priced from €50,415 (around £43,500), although that includes a €7,500 subsidy from the German government. Under normal driving conditions, the ID.4 GTX is propelled by the rear electric motor alone. However, when the car recognises a loss of traction or a demand for more power through the accelerator, it activates the front motor to keep the SUV planted or accelerating as fast as it can. " reports AutoExpress: "To support the more powerful electric motors, the ID.4 GTX is available with an optional Sports package, which adds lowered sports suspension and progressive steering - the latter altering the steering ratio according to the amount of steering lock applied. Volkswagen’s optional Sports Plus package builds on this further with adaptive dampers. To mark it out as the performance model it gets a new front bumper with LED-backlit intakes, a sporty rear diffuser and 20-inch alloy wheels. Matrix LED headlights also come as standard, along with dynamic indicators and a two-tone paint finish. Larger 21-inch alloys are offered as an option."   "Power is drawn from a 77kWh battery pack that sits underneath the cabin floor, and is capable of up to 125kW charging from rapid chargers. Estimated range on the WLTP cycle is rated at 297 miles – a drop of only around 17 miles compared to a standard 77kWh ID.4. VW hasn’t released kerb weights as yet, but thanks to the extra hardware on board expect a jump on a standard ID.4’s 2124kg figure, likely making this ‘electric GTI’ a 2200kg-plus proposition. " says the performance mag evo: "In reality, a 2.2 ton ID.4 is not the GTX we’re particularly interested in, but when Volkswagen (or likely Cupra) decides to drop this powertrain into something a little smaller and lighter, we’ll start taking notice of the ‘electric GTI’ connection VW is so determined to establish."   "The GTX name will be used on more upcoming all-electric ID models in Europe. The AWD version coming to the US later this year might not carry the GTX designation but will have similar technical specifications. When the driver hits the brake pedal, the rear motor is responsible for decelerating the EV while recovering energy. The front motor can recover energy in some situations. The rear motor can brake up to a deceleration rate of about 0.3g, after that, the hydraulic brakes kick in. In the D drive mode, energy regeneration only happens when the brake pedal is applied. However, when in the B (Brake) drive mode, power regeneration starts when the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal." says InsideEVs. The U.S. EPA range is 250 miles for RWD. "Standard features in the ID.4 GTX include a 30-color ambient lighting system, a heated leather steering wheel, leatherette seating with red stitching, a 5.3-inch driver's display, a 10-inch center touchscreen, the Hello ID voice assistant, a navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking.  Optional features offered in various packages include a 12-inch center touchscreen, an augmented reality head-up display, a surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, and the Travel Assist driver-assistance system."   And we couldn't get to the end without a comparison with the cars which still, for many, define the EV segment. According to Car & Driver: "Claimed performance is, frankly, underwhelming by segment standards. Volkswagen's promise of a 6.2-second zero-to-62-mph time translates to GTI-level acceleration but looks leisurely by segment standards, delivering on our prediction that Volkswagen's fastest EV will be slower than the cheapest and least powerful Tesla."     https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-2021-volkswagen-id-4-gtx-performance-ev-flagship   https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/354855/new-hot-electric-volkswagen-id4-gtx-launched-295bhp   https://insideevs.com/news/503979/volkswagen-id-4-gtx-electric/   https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a36275982/vw-id4-gtx-revealed/   VOLKSWAGEN ID.5 TEASED "Recently, during the presentation of the ID.4 GTX, came the first major showing of the ID.5 and the confirmation of a GTX version of it. This is the latest vehicle to ride on VW's MEB platform for EVs but with a sleeker roof than on the ID.4.The front of the ID.5 is nearly identical to the ID.4, and the flanks are similar. The major change is the roof's distinct arch, whereas the ID.4 is a bit more angular. The design differences between them are not very significant." says Motor1: "The two models likely share the same powertrains."   SKODA STARTS ENYAQ DELIVERIES IN NORWAY "Škoda has started deliveries of its electric model Enyaq iV. The first model was delivered to a family in Norway. After the start of deliveries in the Scandinavian markets, Western and Central Europe are to follow from May and June 2021." says electrive: " the Enyaq iV 60 and 80 variants were available with rear-wheel drive – i.e. with 58 kWh or 77 kWh battery capacity. In the meantime, the basic Enyaq iV 50 model with a 52 kWh battery can also be ordered. The two all-wheel-drive models are not yet available."   UK pricing starts at £31,085 and UK deliveries start in a few weeks.   https://www.electrive.com/2021/04/28/skoda-starts-enyaq-deliveries-in-norway/   GM ULTIUM CHARGE 360 "Much like Ford does with its FordPass network, the Ultium Charge 360 will integrate GM’s own vehicle apps and software with a variety of third-party charging services, such as Blink, ChargePoint, EVgo, Flo, Greenlots, and SemaConnect. The goal is to create a seamless experience in which an owner of a GM electric vehicle can drive up to a station, plug in, and start charging without having to juggle multiple apps or third-party memberships." says The Verge: " lot will depend on the level of service provided by these various charging services, an aspect that GM will have little control over. EV charging in the US is a bit of a mess, with broken chargers, fraying cables, and unreliable maps. While GM can’t solve some of the more intractable problems, it says it’s doing what it can to make charging a little less of a headache. GM wouldn’t say whether its forthcoming EVs would include Plug and Charge capabilities, a new technology standard that allows a much simpler way to charge your car."   https://www.theverge.com/2021/4/28/22407789/gm-ev-charging-general-motors-ultium-charge-360   ELECTRIC FORD MUSTANG MACH-E TO PACE NASCAR TALLADEGA CUP SERIES RACE "The Ford Mustang-Mach E is hitting the track. The all-electric utility vehicle will serve as the pace car for the NASCAR Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, April. 25." says Fox NEws: "Ford's electric cars have come a long way in the past decade. While the Focus had a range of 115 miles per charge, the Mach-E is available in a version that can cover 305 miles between stops."   https://www.foxnews.com/auto/electric-ford-mustang-mach-e-nascar-talladega-cup-series   TESLA’S HEAD OF UI DEPARTS "Tesla’s longtime head of user interface design has left the company, and he has published some images of previously unreleased UI design for the Cybertruck and Full Self-Driving software in the process. These designs were seen partially in the Cybertruck launch but never so clearly…" says Fred at eelectreK: "According to his LInkedin profile, Pietryka left Tesla last month to create his own design firm called Moderne Grafik Anstalt. Pietryka has been replaced as head of UI design at Tesla by Ben Cunningham, who came to Tesla last year from Facebook. As part of Pietryka’s portfolio on his new firm’s website, the designer shared some images of his designs at Tesla."   https://electrek.co/2021/04/28/tesla-head-ui-leaves-leaks-unreleased-cybertruck-fsd-images/   HYUNDAI KONA ELECTRIC DISCONTINUED IN KOREA "There've been whispers about an uncertain future for the Hyundai Kona Electric, and on Wednesday we learned it's going away in the automaker's home country of Korea. The country's Yonhap News Agency first reported Hyundai will discontinue the Kona Electric locally as recalls for battery fires continue. The company will instead focus on the Ioniq 5 as its flagship EV for now." sayas CNET: "Hyundai recently revealed a refreshed model with new looks but an identical powertrain, set to go on sale soon in both Europe and the US. Korea, however, will have to deal with whatever models remain at dealership lots."   https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/hyundai-kona-electric-discontinued-battery-fire-recalls/   THIRD VW PLANT IN CHINA UNDER CONSTRUCTION Volkswagen Group China has begun construction of an all-new MEB plant at Volkswagen Anhui recently. As the third of the Group’s pure-electric vehicle manufacturing facilities in China, following completion of the Anting (SAIC VW) and Foshan (FAW-VW) plants, the Volkswagen Anhui plant will be powered by green energy from day one. Due for completion mid-2022, the plant is set for start of production in the second half of 2023. The plant is another cornerstone of Volkswagen’s global e-mobility push. By 2025, Volkswagen Group China plans to deliver up to 1.5 million new energy vehicles (NEVs) per year.   QUESTION OF THE WEEK WITH EMOBILITYNORWAY.COM   Whats the most effective consumer education regarding EVs?   Email me your thoughts and I’ll read them out on Sunday – hello@evnewsdaily.com     It would mean a lot if you could take 2mins to leave a quick review on whichever platform you download the podcast.   And  if you have an Amazon Echo, download our Alexa Skill, search for EV News Daily and add it as a flash briefing.   Come and say hi on Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter just search EV News Daily, have a wonderful day, I’ll catch you tomorrow and remember…there’s no such thing as a self-charging hybrid.     PHIL ROBERTS / ELECTRIC FUTURE (PREMIUM PARTNER) BRAD CROSBY (PREMIUM PARTNER) PORSCHE OF THE VILLAGE CINCINNATI (PREMIUM PARTNER) AUDI CINCINNATI EAST (PREMIUM PARTNER) VOLVO CARS CINCINNATI EAST (PREMIUM PARTNER) NATIONALCARCHARGING.COM and ALOHACHARGE.COM  (PREMIUM PARTNER) DEREK REILLY FROM THE EV REVIEW IRELAND YOUTUBE CHANNEL (PREMIUM PARTNER) RICHARD AT RSEV.CO.UK – FOR BUYING AND SELLING EVS IN THE UK (PREMIUM PARTNER) eMOBILITY NORWAY HTTPS://WWW.EMOBILITYNORWAY.COM/  (PREMIUM PARTNER)     DAVID AND LISA ALLEN (PARTNER) GARETH HAMER (PARTNER) BOB BOOTHBY FROM MILLBROOK COTTAGES – 5* GOLD SELF CATERING COTTAGES (PARTNER) DARIN MCLESKEY FROM DENOVO REAL ESTATE (PARTNER) JUKKA KUKONEN FROM WWW.SHIFT2ELECTRIC.COM RAJEEV NARAYAN (PARTNER) IAIN SEAR (PARTNER)   ADRIAN BOND (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ALAN SHEDD (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ALEX BANAHENE (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ALEXANDER FRANK @ https://www.youtube.com/c/alexsuniverse42 ANDERS HOVE (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ANDREA JEFFERSON (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ANDREW GREEN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ANDY NANCARROW AND LILIAN KASS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ASEER KHALID (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) BÅRD FJUKSTAD (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) BLUNDERBUSS JONES (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER BRIAN THOMPSON (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) BRUCE BOHANNAN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) CHARLES HALL (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) CHRIS HOPKINS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) CHRISTOPHER BARTH (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) COLIN HENNESSY AND CAMBSEV (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) CRAIG ROGERS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) DAMIEN DAVIS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) DAVID FINCH (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) DAVID MOORE (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) DAVID PARTINGTON (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) DAVID PRESCOTT (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) DC EV (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) DON MCALLISTER / SCREENCASTSONLINE.COM (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ED CORTREEN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ERIC HANSEN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ERU KYEYUNE-NYOMBI (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) FREDRIK ROVIK (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) GENE RUBIN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) HEDLEY WRIGHT (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) HEINRICH LIESNER (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) IAN GRIFFITHS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) IAN (WATTIE) WATKINS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) JACK OAKLEY (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) JAMES STORR (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) JAVIER CARMELO DÍAZ PÉREZ (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) JIM MORRIS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) JOHN SCHROEDER (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) JON AKA BEARDY MCBEARDFACE FROM KENT EVS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) JON MANCHAK (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) JUAN GONZALEZ (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) KEVIN MEYERSON (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) LAURENCE D ALLEN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) LEE BROWN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) LUKE CULLEY (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) MARCEL WARD (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) MARTY YOUNG  (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) MIA OPPELSTRUP (PARTNER) MIKE WINTER (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) NATHAN GORE-BROWN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) NATHANIEL FREEDMAN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) NEIL E ROBERTS FROM SUSSEX EVS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) OHAD ASTON (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) PAUL STEPHENSON (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) PETE GLASS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) PETE GORTON (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) PETER & DEE ROBERTS FROM OXON EVS (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) PHIL MOUCHET (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) PHILIP TRAUTMAN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) RAYMOND ROWLEDGE (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) RENE KEEMIK (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) RENÉ SCHNEIDER (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ROB FROM THE RSTHINKS EV CHANNEL ON YOUTUBE (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) ROBERT GRACE (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) RUPERT MITCHELL (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) SEIKI PAYNE (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) STEPHEN PENN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) STEVE JOHN (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) THOMAS J. Show #452   Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world, welcome to EV News Daily for Tuesday 23rd April 2019. It’s Martyn Lee here and I’ve been through every EV story I could find today to save you time.   Thank you to MYEV.com for helping make this show, they’ve built the first marketplace specifically for Electric Vehicles. It’s a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too.   TESLA UNVEILS NEW CHIP, NEW COMPUTER So many outlets are talking about the Tesla Autonomy Day yesterday it's hard to know which comments to bring you, so lets start full nerd, as the presentation started with more gigahertz and teraflops than I ever wanted to know about. "Tesla has unveiled a new chip and computer for its cars custom designed by a team led by Apple veteran Pete Bannon. The hardware started full production in July 2018 and is already being retrofitted to employee vehicles, CEO Elon Musk said at the company’s first “Autonomy Day” – intended to showcase autonomous driving progress. Tesla has dropped NVIDIA’s products as a result." is the verdict of Computer Business Review: "The Tesla chip, built for the company by Samsung, is capable of 76 trillion operations per second (TOPS). It draws just 100 watts and includes what Bannon described as a “modest” GPU, with the aim being that as the neural net improves performance, the amount of post-processing the GPU does will shrink. The computer includes 12 A72 64-bit CPUs for general purpose processing that operate at 2.2. gigahertz."   Pete Bannon said: "“In 2016 there was no ground-up neural network accelerator; everyone was adding instructions to their CPU or GPU or DSP to make it better for inference. I was hired in Feb 2016. I asked Elon if he was willing to spend all the money it takes to do full custom system design.” He said ‘are we gonna win?’ and I said ‘of course’ so we got a bunch of people and got to work.”.   https://www.cbronline.com/news/tesla-chip-nvidia   Fred at Electrek points out the hardware is already on the road: "Today, the company clarified that it was in all new Model S and Model X since March (start around March 20th) and in all new Model 3 vehicles earlier this month (starting around April 12th). Musk said that Tesla will start offering retrofits to current Tesla owners who bought the ‘Full Self-Driving package’ in the next few months."   https://electrek.co/2019/04/22/tesla-full-self-driving-computer-details/   TESLA OUTLINES PLAN FOR ‘ROBOTAXI’ RIDE-SHARING SERVICE "Tesla owners who wish to use their vehicles for the Tesla Network will be able to manage their electric cars through their smartphone. Musk dropped several points of information that will be key to the Tesla Network’s Robotaxi service as well. " says Simon at Teslarati: "Among these is the vehicles’ longevity. The CEO noted that current-generation battery packs are good for about 300,000 to 500,000 miles, though Tesla’s upcoming batteries which will go on production next year will operate for twice as long, up to 1 million miles with minimal maintenance. Operating the Tesla Network will make the electric car maker a player in the highly-competitive ride-sharing market, which is dominated by giants such as Uber and Lyft. Thanks to their low operating costs as all-electric cars, Tesla’s electric cars hold an advantage. Tesla estimates that running a Robotaxi will cost around $0.18 or less per mile. This undercuts the $2-$3 cost per mile of ride-sharing."   In a separate Electrek article Fred said: "On the app, Tesla owners will be able to add their cars to the shared fleet to earn money or summon an autonomous Tesla vehicle to pick them up and bring them to a destination. Musk dove deep into the economics of such a fleet — both from Tesla’s perspective and from the perspective of a Tesla owner. As we previously reported, now all new Tesla vehicles are equipped with what Musk believes is all the hardware necessary to achieve full self-driving through future software updates. He estimates that Tesla will have over a million of those vehicles on the road by the end of next year — around the time they start activating full self-driving capability"   https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-autonomy-day-livestream-updates/   https://electrek.co/2019/04/22/tesla-robotaxi-network-self-driving-fleet-ride-sharing-cars/   One of the Electrek forum members MrXtraconservative said "People called Musk crazy when he said his rockets would fall from space, then safely land backwards. Impossible! Today is more of the same."   STUFF ELON MUSK SAID ABOUT TESLA AUTONOMOUS CARS ON MONDAY, RANKED Gizmodo ranks how outrageous some of the statements were, with more Elons awarded for anything out there. The new Tesla micro-chip is “the best chip in the world... objectively” (Gizmodo say: according to Bloomberg, even Nvidia—which Musk said Tesla had already transitioned away from as a chip supplier to begin installing the in-house chip—admitted that Tesla had “raised the bar for self-driving computers.”. One out of five Elons) Tesla will have level 5 autonomy in 2020 which means they will self-drive so well “no one needs to pay attention" (Gizmodo say: “Claiming that the Tesla cars have the hardware for full autonomy and only need the software is like saying that we have seeds, we just need to plow, plant, nurture, harvest and then eat,” Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute engineer Raj Rajkumar told the Verge. “Basically they are at the starting point—full autonomy is many years away.” Three out of Five Elons) “Probably two years from now we’ll make a car with no steering wheels or pedals.” (Five out of five Elons.)   https://gizmodo.com/stuff-elon-musk-said-about-tesla-autonomous-cars-on-mon-1834233680   GOOGLE MAPS HELPS YOU FIND OPEN EV CHARGING STATIONS IN REAL TIME "From now on, you just have to fire up Google Maps if you need to hunt for an open EV charging station." reports Engadget UK today: "The latest versions of Google Maps for Android, iOS and the web now show real-time availability for charging ports in the US and UK, giving you a better idea of when to go for a top-up -- you're no longer relegated to static info like before. The feature won't help you find a Tesla Supercharger (you don't really need that given Tesla's app), but it will cover the networks of Chargemaster, EVgo and SemaConnect, with Chargepoint coming soon."   https://www.engadget.com/2019/04/23/google-maps-real-time-ev-charging-station-info/   EVGO AND MAVEN GIG INTRODUCE FIRST IN THE NATION PUBLIC-RIDESHARE FAST EV CHARGING HUBS At a special ribbon cutting event today, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti joined LA-based EVgo, the nation’s largest public fast EV charging network, and Maven, General Motors’ car sharing platform, to celebrate the introduction of a new, innovative network of EV fast charging hubs that feature both public and dedicated fast chargers for Maven Gig’s shared-use vehicles. Los Angeles is home to EVgo’s first local network of these public-rideshare fast EV charging hubs, which will include three locations across the city, further demonstrating the city’s role as a leader in transportation electrification. Today’s event celebrated the official opening of the Venice Crossroads fast EV charging hub located at 8985 Venice Blvd in Los Angeles. Venice Crossroads is located six miles away from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and adjacent to the 10 Freeway and the Metro Expo Line. The first hub in the network opened last month in the heart of Hollywood at the Hollywest Promenade Cathy Zoi, CEO of EVgo: "Our new network of public-rideshare fast charging hubs in Los Angeles is the first of its kind and will make charging quick and easy for Maven Gig members, while helping to improve access for all EV drivers across the city. In this episode we take a regional look at energy efficiency in the Southeastern U.S. My guest is Mandy Mahoney, President of the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance, or SEEA. We start off by discussing the concept of energy efficiency and what it means these days, and then dive into SEEA’s energy efficiency work in the South, including the energy equity work that SEEA is doing in high poverty and often rural communities. Mandy, a native-born Southerner, shares her perspective on some of the economic and cultural nuances that can make it challenging to advance energy efficiency and clean energy in the South, but we also explore some innovative approaches that work. We then get into some of the interesting ways in which SEEA is expanding its energy efficiency focus to include electric transportation, storm resiliency and even healthcare. We close with a preview of SEEA’s upcoming annual Conference which will be held in Atlanta this October. Charging Up with EV Chargers, with Mahi Reddy, Founder and CEO of SemaConnect (Ep.14)

Americans have had a longtime love affair with the automobile. You could even say it's ingrained into our national psyche. It's not surprising, then, that this industry in which 90% of fuels are fossil-based generates 27% of all U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. Fortunately, this high-carbon transportation model is being disrupted by the emergence of clean electric vehicles. In this episode we focus on EV chargers, a critically important but less-often discussed aspect of the EV revolution. Our guest is Mahi Reddy, the founder and CEO of SemaConnect, a national EV charger manufacturing company based in Bowie, Maryland. We begin with a discussion about why and how Mahi founded SemaConnect and continue with a wide-ranging conversation about how EV charging works; what SemaConnect's business model is and how it compares with those of other EVSE (electric vehicle supply equipment) companies; how EVs—unlike some distributed generation—are a promising source of revenue for traditional utilities; the challenges of starting and running a national company in a young industry in which the policy and regulatory landscape is evolving; and how national and state policies are shaping EV investment and growth. We close with a prediction from Mahi about what the next decade will mean for electric vehicles and autonomous driving. Recorded May 10, 2017 Published May 15, 2017
