First, we kick the tires on today's Lucky Seven Scan at TheHotOptionsReport.com , highlighting unusual volume spikes in Arcosa Inc. (ACA), Absci Corp (ABSI), and Acumen Pharmaceuticals (ABOS). Then, we dive into the top 10 most active options chains of the day: SMCI (#10): Rallies over 15% to $35.46. Did buyers of the weekly $40 calls get a banger day? Intel (#9): Up nearly $7 to $140.94. Paper leans heavy into selling the weekly $160 covered calls. Big Tech Sell-Offs (#8 - #4): Breaking down the overriding and sweat equity in Netflix (NFLX), Microsoft (MSFT)—which broke the $370 strike in both directions—Alphabet (GOOGL), Apple (AAPL), and Amazon (AMZN). SpaceX (#3): A brutal 16.5% downward slide ($30.40 drop) to close at $154.60. Is a 126 Vol implied volatility too cheap for the June weekly $180 calls? Nvidia (#2): A relatively light 2.92 million contracts as NVDA slides to $208.65, making the zero-day-to-expiration (0DTE) $215 calls look like a slam-dunk sell. SpaceX and Tesla merger may happen this year

A SpaceX-Tesla merger may happen as soon as this year, according to comments from SpaceX President and COO Gwynne Shotwell during the company's June 12 IPO day. Speaking to CNBC as SpaceX began trading on the Nasdaq at a $1.75 trillion valuation, Shotwell said a merger between Elon Musk's two trillion-dollar companies "might make Elon's life a little easier" and pointed to a "convergence" in what SpaceX and Tesla are building toward. This episode breaks down what Gwynne Shotwell actually said about the SpaceX Tesla merger, why analysts think it's now closer than ever, and what it means for Tesla shareholders. Shotwell told CNBC there are "synergies between Tesla and SpaceX in our futures, definitely," while keeping her near-term focus on rockets, Starlink, and the ISS. The quote landed on the same day SpaceX's market cap opened above $2 trillion, putting it ahead of Tesla as the sixth most valuable US company, and the same day Elon Musk became the world's first trillionaire. The financial and operational ties between SpaceX and Tesla are already deep. Tesla invested $2 billion in xAI in January 2026, a stake that converted to nearly 19 million SpaceX shares when xAI merged into SpaceX in February. SpaceX has bought $697 million worth of Tesla Megapack energy storage and $131 million in Cybertrucks. The two companies jointly run Terafab, a $55 billion chip manufacturing project with Intel that will produce silicon for robotics and space. Total Tesla sales to SpaceX and xAI since 2023 are roughly $890 million. The most telling signal is in SpaceX's S-1 filing. Days before the IPO, SpaceX amended its risk factors to add: "We may issue a significant amount of equity in connection with future transactions." That language isn't necessary for small deals. It's the kind of disclosure that anticipates a merger the size of Tesla, which currently has a market cap of about $1.52 trillion.Wall Street is already pricing in the SpaceX Tesla merger thesis. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives puts the probability at 80-90% with a likely close in the first half of 2027 and calls a combined entity the "holy grail" for Musk's control of the AI ecosystem. Wolfe Research analyst Emmanuel Rosner says the IPO has turned the merger into a "core thesis" for many Tesla investors, citing stronger AI capabilities through xAI, expanded access to capital markets, and increased Musk voting control over the combined company. Musk already holds 85% voting power at SpaceX and roughly 13% of Tesla, which could climb to 25% if his November pay package targets hit.We cover what Gwynne Shotwell's IPO day comments actually mean, why the S-1 language is the strongest signal yet, what a combined SpaceX-Tesla company looks like under Elon Musk's voting control, how the Cursor acquisition and xAI absorption fit the same M&A pattern, and whether Tesla shareholders come out ahead in a stock-for-stock deal at current valuations. Keywords: SpaceX Tesla merger, Gwynne Shotwell, Elon Musk, SpaceX IPO, SPCX stock, Tesla stock, TSLA, xAI, $1.75 trillion valuation, Wedbush Dan Ives, Wolfe Research, Terafab, Musk trillionaire, AI M&A 2026, Tesla SpaceX synergies.

Shoot us a Text.Episode #1348: Today we cover Tesla raising Model Y prices for the first time in years, lenders diving deeper into subprime auto financing, and why automotive advertising is quietly losing market share.Show Notes with links:Tesla just bumped prices on several higher-trim Model Y variants for the first time in two years, signaling confidence that EV demand may be heating back up. Meanwhile, Wall Street is still trying to decide if the stock is charging ahead or stuck in traffic.Tesla raised prices by $1,000 on the Model Y Premium RWD and AWD trims, while the Performance trim climbed by $500.Entry-level Model Y versions remain unchanged, suggesting Tesla is protecting affordability while testing premium demand elasticity.Analysts point to rising gas prices and battery material costs as possible drivers behind the move.Despite the pricing confidence, TSLA stock slid over 4% Friday and dipped again Monday as investors weigh slowing momentum and new technical buy points.Auto lenders are diving deeper into subprime financing as affordability pressures push buyers back into the market and lenders get more aggressive chasing deals. The result? More approvals, higher payments, and longer loan terms.Subprime and deep subprime borrowers made up 15.4% of all auto loans and leases in Q4, the highest share since 2021.Average interest rates are eye-popping: 13.2% for subprime new-car loans and nearly 22% for deep subprime used-car loans.Dealers say lenders are “digging a little deeper” rather than dramatically lowering standards, helped by better data and digital document verification.Experian's Melinda Zabritski summed it up saying, “As affordability remains top of mind, both lenders and consumers are adapting.”For decades, automotive advertising practically was the ad industry. But now, shrinking OEM budgets, EV uncertainty, and Tesla-style marketing strategies are changing the game and auto's share of ad spend is slipping below a historic benchmark.Automotive advertising is projected to fall below 10% of total ad category spend for the first time ever tracked by Guideline. The category shrank roughly 7% in 2025, with spending pressure continuing into 2026.Analysts point to weaker EV momentum and automakers scaling back electric initiatives as major contributors.Newer brands are ditching traditional “big splash” campaigns in favor of leaner marketing approaches, following Tesla's no-advertising playbook.Join Paul J Daly and Kyle Mountsier every morning for the Automotive State of the Union podcast  as they connect the dots across car dealerships, retail trends, emerging tech like AI, and cultural shifts—bringing clarity, speed, and people-first insight to automotive leaders navigating a rapidly changing industry.Get the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/

Zeem celebrates 350,000th successful charging session at LAX [video]

Electric logistics firm Zeem Solutions celebrated some good reliability news at ACT Expo last week, after its commercial charging depot at LAX hit a huge milestone, surpassing 350,000 successful charging sessions as one of the highest-throughput charging facilities in the US. "What the 350,000-session milestone really measures is reliability at scale," says Rick Eckert, Vice President of Operations at Zeem Solutions. "Every one of those sessions represents a fleet vehicle that needed to get back on the road on time. The fact that we have been able to deliver that consistently, across an increasingly diverse set of vehicles and duty cycles, is what gives our customers the confidence to expand their electric fleets and gives us the confidence to invest in the next generation of depots." Zeem's message has consistently been that that reliability isn't just about making sure EV chargers work when you plug your car into them (and, for the record, Zeem's do, with the first 4 months of 2026 delivering more than 75,000 charging sessions and dispensing a whopping 3.2 million kWhs of electricity). To Zeem, reliability includes knowing the industries your customers work in and understanding what your partners need. To that end, Zeem is bringing an unprecedented level of operational expertise, with contracted and pre-scheduled charging sessions allowing Zeem to maintain a 98% charger uptime to accommodate a mix of light-duty, medium-duty, and class 8 vehicles on one site, while also providing 24/7/365 valets to rotate out charged units, perform visual inspections on fleet vehicles, and provide regular maintenance and as-needed repairs. Parking, security, and cleaning services are also included. "You learn a tremendous amount from 350,000 commercial charging sessions, and those lessons have shaped Zeem 2.0 as we bring our proven model directly to customer fleet sites," explains Paul Gioupis, Founder and CEO of Zeem Solutions. "Five years of operating commercial EV charging at scale has taught us what drives uptime, where execution matters most, and why reliability is non-negotiable. The future of transportation depends on infrastructure that performs every day in real-world fleet operations, and Zeem is delivering that today at scale." All of this charging has also shown a huge environmental impact, with the 350,000 EV charging session milestone avoiding an estimated 5.6 million kg of CO2 emissions – equivalent to burning 634,831 gallons of gasoline or powering more than 1,100 average US homes for a full year. Zeem plans to open charging depots to serve the SeaTac and Long Beach commercial fleet markets next, and is actively developing additional facilities nationwide to meet the needs of the growing electric vehicle fleet. We had a chance to sit down with Paul at last week's ACT Expo in Las Vegas, where we talked charging, maintenance, incentives, Tesla Semi, and a whole lot more as Zeem's Eastward expansion rolls on. On this really quick episode of Quick Charge, we talk to Range Energy Vice President of Product Collin MacGregor about how his electric trailer can help reduce freight costs, support the grid, and more – WITHOUT asking operators to switch trucks. More often than you probably think, the biggest obstacle a fleet faces when choosing to electrify isn't the high cost of entry or the utility's ability to provide power. Instead, it's the operators – the drivers who will be sitting behind the wheel of the fleet's new trucks, and who don't want to part with the big diesel rigs they've come to know and love. Range Energy has an interim solution that could help fleets save up to 70% on their existing fuel costs, get the fleet's techs and drivers used to electrification, and provide emergency energy storage at a moment's notice. If you've been paying attention, you already know I'm talking about Range Energy and its battery-powered, e-axle equipped semi truck trailers.
