Ahead of Ford (F) earnings, "it's all about the guidance," says CFRA's Garrett Nelson. The U.S. automaker reports 2Q earnings after Wednesday's close. CFRA has a hold rating on Ford with an $11 price target. Garrett says valuation is a concern for Ford as it trades "to a premium compared to General Motors" and says Ford trails GM in domestic auto sales. Later, he turns to Tesla (TSLA) saying it should be viewed as a tech company based on its valuation and business lines its entering beyond automotive.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

On this week's program, we use some outside of the box thinking about Exchange Traded Funds, the "New" Magnificent Seven, and a high monthly income stream for retirement using Closed-End Funds.
After Tesla's Q2 2025 earnings call, Elon Musk's comment that the new affordable model is "a Model Y" sent shockwaves through the community, leading to frustration and confusion. Many now believe Tesla's next big vehicle is just a cheaper, stripped-down trim of the current Model Y. In this video, I'll break down why I believe that's wrong. I'll argue that Tesla isn't just removing features from the Model Y. Instead, they are launching a new model on the same platform: a shorter wheelbase Model Y. This move, combined with the recently revealed longer "Model Y L" in China, points to a brilliant 3-tier product strategy, much like Apple's iPhone lineup (Standard, Pro, Pro Max). Join me as I connect the dots and explain my theory on the "Model Y S" (Short), how Tesla can make it significantly cheaper, and why this is a genius move to maximize their existing production lines, expand their market, and navigate the end of the US federal tax credit. Topics Covered in this Video: - Elon Musk's controversial Q2 earnings call comment. - The flaw in the "cheaper trim" argument. - My Theory: The Model Y S (Short), Model Y (Standard), and Model Y L (Long). - Evidence from the new 6-seater Model Y L in China. - How Tesla can reduce the price by $6,000 - $8,000. - Addressing headwinds: The expiring tax credit vs. the increasing demand from FSD improvements. - Tesla's long-term manufacturing and platform strategy. What are your thoughts on Tesla's upcoming affordable model? Let me know in the comments below! Social
In this video, I break down why I think I'll be able to use unsupervised FSD in my own Tesla in Austin before the year is over. - How Tesla's geofenced Robotaxi network is the key. - Creating hyper-realistic simulations of cities like Austin to rapidly train and validate FSD. - The logical steps from safety-monitored Robotaxis to unmanned Robotaxis, and finally, to unsupervised FSD for personal vehicles in those same proven zones. - What "unsupervised" will likely mean at first (hint: you'll probably still be in the driver's seat, but without the nags!). US equity futures are slightly higher. Asian markets finished mostly lower and European markets opened lower. The market focus remained on corporate earnings and trade policy. GOOGL's results supported AI-driven optimism, while TSLA's weaker outlook weighed on sentiment. Reports suggested the US and EU are close to finalizing a trade deal involving new tariffs. Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Bessent's upcoming meeting with China's Vice Premier has drawn attention. Sentiment was also shaped by mixed US economic data, with better-than-expected jobless claims but weaker new home sales and ongoing inflation pressure tied to tariffs. Other notable event today: Trump is scheduled to visit the Fed headquarters at 4pm Eastern.Companies Mentioned: Samsung Electronics, OpenAI, Perplexity AI, Alphabet, Paramount Global, Southwest Airlines, Boeing

Daniel Newman joins Diane King Hall at the NYSE set to talk about the Mag 7 after Alphabet (GOOGL) and Tesla (TSLA) showed mixed results. He doesn't see Tesla moving to the downside long-term even as EV sales plunge. The reason? Investors' bullish outlook on the company's growth in advancing tech like robotaxi and robotics. As for Alphabet, Daniel explains the "long-term bets" the company is making can be highly profitable if done right. He'll also keep a close eye on next week's jam-packed Mag 7 earnings slate, which includes Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Meta Platforms (META) and Microsoft (MSFT).======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

Alphabet (GOOGL) shares slip lower after an initial pop. George Tsilis and Scott Durfey join Marley Kayden to digest the latest quarterly figures from Google's parent company. Both George and Scott denote the company's capital expenditure number as one to watch as A.I. expansion could weigh on overall company profits. However, they point to its YouTube business as a positive checking in with $9.8B revenue reported in the 2Q. Then, they turn their attention to IBM after an earnings beat and Tesla (TSLA) after missing on its Adj. EPS figure. Scott adds that Tesla's still looking for direction on it being an EV company or an A.I. company. George highlights prior significant cuts in Tesla's guidance as potentially softening the blow and believes tomorrow's trading reaction will be key.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

Ben Sullivan reacts to Alphabet (GOOGL) earnings. He notes that capex is expected to rise for Google but thinks that will translate to strength down the road. “They're resilient, they have a plan” for things like AI and Search, he adds, “They have a wide moat that will allow them to stay competitive.” On Tesla (TSLA), he describes the “roller coaster ride” of the stock and how the company is trying to reassure investors. He expects a “tangible road map” from Elon Musk on the earnings call.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about
Shay Boloor expects Tesla's (TSLA) earnings to be volatile as the company remains the "worst performing" Mag 7 stock. It's no secret vehicle sales have plunged around the globe, though Shay says the real meat of the report will come from guidance. Lucas Lloyd adds onto that by noting you have to look at Tesla from a "short-term view" and a "long-term view" with its anticipated AI and FSD advancements. However, Lucas still sees the EV tax credit cut and lack of infrastructure serving as a major headwind.
Marley Kayden talks all about Tesla (TSLA) ahead of the company's highly anticipated earnings. She notes the Mag 7 company has only had one year-over-year vehicle delivery drop prior to 2024, noting the figure will be under the microscope after sales plunged since. Marley adds that investors are waiting for more information on a slew of other developments: from robotaxi and full-self driving, to robotics and timelines on tech availability. Scott Bauer with @ProsperTradingAcademy offers an example options trade for Tesla.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Options involve risks and are not suitable for all investors. Investors are taking a "cautious" approach to General Motors (GM) after its earnings beat, according to Bob Lang. He says the company posted strong numbers in several metrics, including EV sales, which Bob says are second to Tesla (TSLA). Tony Zipparro believes investors hit the brakes over tariff concerns. He says the stock got ahead of itself by ignoring tariff risks that showed up in the earnings.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about
