He was giggling like a little schoolgirl as he was "awarded" an 80% lower receiver, something other Americans have been jailed for. But laws are for us little folks, not lap dogs like Stevie-D and his deep state handlers. Then, the lawlessness of the ATF and other bureaucracies is on full display as President Trump takes office, as they do their best to defy, stymie and/or resist his orders and nullify his administration. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is supposed to regulate the gun industry and protect the American public from gun crime. But the ATF often falls short of that mandate. This is no accident. This episode of The Gun Machine draws on host Alain Stephens' seven years of reporting on the ATF to chronicle how the gun lobby and its Congressional allies worked to limit the agency's enforcement powers and resources. Stephens speaks to Steve Dettelbach — the ATF's first permanent director in seven years — about the challenges agents face trying to do their jobs. Stephens also talks to retired ATF agent David Chipman about how controversial episodes like the Ruby Ridge standoff and the Waco siege turned public opinion against the agency, paving the way for budget cuts and legislative restrictions. Cam Edwards of Bearing Arms joins the show this week after the ATF saw a significant shakeup. After President Biden announced he would nominate a new permanent director last week, he took to punishing the acting director. Marvin Richardson, a 30-year career agent, was moved down to acting deputy director for the last few months of his time at the agency. The move comes just a month after gun-control advocates and The New York Times attacked Richardson as too friendly towards the gun industry. Cam argues those complaints were weak. He says the gun-control groups want an ideologue in charge of the ATF which is why they backed David Chipman's failed nomination and are backing the nominations of Steve Dettelbach. He said Richardson fell short in their eyes, and ultimately the President's, by not approaching the gun industry as an adversary. But Cam sees the move to demote Richardson as one that will ultimately harm the President's latest ATF nominee's chances of getting through confirmation. He noted complaints from the National African American Gun Association about Richardson, who is Black, being passed over twice for White candidates whose most recent experience was in the political realm rather than law enforcement. Given how difficult it is to confirm an ATF director in an evenly divided Senate, and the fact Biden already failed to do so once before, any additional controversy could sink Dettebach's bid. Plus, Contributing Writer Jake Fogleman and I discuss a top Florida Democrat's new gun-rights lawsuit against the Biden Administration. Special Guest: Cam Edwards.

President Biden went hard after "ghost guns" and the companies that make them this week. So, on this episode, we've got one of the most prominent men who is squarely in his sights: Defense Distributed's Cody Wilson. Wilson is a pioneer in 3D-printed guns having developed the first prototype called The Liberator. His Ghost Gunner mini-CNC machine is among the popular ways to finish the unfinished gun receivers commonly available on the market. As such, he read through the entire 364-page final guidance on the new ban from the ATF. We discuss the ins and out of what exactly is illegal now, how that will impact the firearms industry, and some of the surprises in the final regulation. Wilson says he feels the regulations are unjust and unconstitutional. He said he plans to file suit against the administration over the changes. Plus, Contributing Writer Jake Fogleman and I talk about what we've found out about President Biden's new ATF director nominee Steve Dettelbach. Special Guest: Cody Wilson.

Philadelphia is Re-Enstating Mask Mandates https://www.outkick.com/from-freedom-to-fear-philadelphia-reinstating-indoor-mask-mandates/ From OutKick: Despite the fact there’s no hard evidence that masks keep viruses at bay — or for that matter, that COVID cases are actually on the rise — Philadelphia is re-imposing its indoor mandate, starting April 18. City officials made the announcement on Monday, indicating that Philadelphia had reached the “Level 2: Mask Precautions stage” of a four-tiered COVID response system. “We hope by having folks whenever they’re in public, indoor spaces we can get ahead of the wave and keep it from reaching a peak like we saw in January with the omicron variant,” Philadelphia heath commissioner Cheryl Bettigole said. “If we can do that, we can literally save the lives of vulnerable Philadelphians. At this level of transmission, we do not believe that there is any reason to panic or enjoy any activities that we enjoy and are important to use. Our city remains open.” Bettigole added that the city will offer businesses a week-long “educational period” on masks before the mandate takes effect. Mask mandates across the world have proven ineffective at slowing reports of virus cases, as repeatedly relayed by Ian Miller, author of Unmasked: The Global Failure of COVID Mask Mandates. Philadelphia, which lifted the indoor mask mandate a little more than a month ago, becomes the first major U.S. city to reinstitute it. This comes after Bettigole revealed that those hospitalized with COVID symptoms in Philadelphia remains extremely low, just 46 people. “Recently, we’ve been watching COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations rise in several European countries and in some places, in the U.S, and now we’re starting to see cases here in Philadelphia rise,” Bettigole said. “This looks like we may be at the start of a new COVID wave like Europe just saw.” Boniface Woodworking DNB: Boniface Woodworking exists for those who enjoy shopping with integrity; who want to buy handmade wooden furniture, gifts, and heirloom items that will last for generations. Indeed, it does. Biden went on to argue that people on “the terrorist list,” despite any due process, should lose their right to buy a gun (no), once again claimed that Americans couldn’t buy a cannon during Founding era (they could), and made a dumb joke about deer in Kevlar for what has to be thousandth time. Biden, again, maintained that gun manufacturers “have more immunity than any other American industry” (they do not). Biden then announced that he would nominate another anti-gun zealot, Steve Dettelbach, a former U.S. attorney in Ohio, to head up the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Less hyperbolic and prone to fabulism than failed nominee David Chipman, Dettelbach, who Biden claimed was a “noncontroversial candidate,” holds virtually indistinguishable policy positions on the Second Amendment from the last nominee. There is no reason why he should be confirmed, either. The Justice Association files Criminal Charges Sherrod Brown and FBI AgentsCriminal charges filed against Sherrod Brown, Steve Dettelbach and Carole Rendon Benjamin Suarez has filed criminal charges in Stark County State Court against Ohio US Senator Sherrod Brown; former Cleveland US Attorney Steve Dettelbach; former Assistant US Attorney to Steve Dettelbach, Carol Rendon; and two FBI agents who were under the supervision of Dettelbach and Rendon, Mark McMurtry and Mike Sirohman. The Criminal Charging Affidavit provides evidence that the FBI agents engaged in witness intimidation by offering Suarez's personal trainer David Dearth a $92,000 bribe to provide false testimony that Suarez tampered with the jury in the July 2014 trial where Suarez and his company were acquitted of all 19 charges of election law violations. They also threatened to harm Dearth's family and terrorized his wife and children in a confrontation in a supermarket parking lot. This confrontation was so traumatic that Dearth's children were crying and wetting their pants. The Criminal Charging Affidavit also provides evidence that Suarez's former company attorney Mike Puterbaugh was intimidated by Dettelbach, Rendon and the FBI agents to commit perjury when he testified at the trail in July of 2014 concerning the charge against Suarez of witness tampering. Puterbaugh had exculpatory evidence proving that Suarez did not engage in witness tampering. He was intimidated into lying that he did not remember the incident concerning the exculpatory evidence. Then in August 2015, one of Suarez's attorneys Craig Conley encountered Puterbaugh on a sidewalk in downtown Canton. Conley confronted Puterbaugh on his recollection of the exculpatory evidence incident. Puterbaugh said he definitely remembered the incident and would sign an affidavit providing new evidence that would get a new trial for Suarez.
