The boys kick off the hour talking about how Ross' wife can't stand the movie Mrs. Doubtfire which prevents Ross from being able to watch it and Chris' daughter's musical tastes in Miley Cyrus, Luke Bryant and Tupac. They then discuss more of the big story of the day regarding Kirk Ferentz. Then Chris breaks down the surprising early line in the Iowa-Iowa State football game. Finally they break down the odd case that is the New York Yankees having COVID-19 break out despite being vaccinated.

The guys kick off the week discussing Chris coaching his daughter's softball and at that age winning versus having fun. Then Chris is excited about Tim Tebow possibly being a tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars which somehow leads Ross into a story about Jan Michaelson interviewing Lolo Jones. Then the guys get into the Bob Baffert controversy with Medina Spirit and the Kentucky Derby and the guys also talk about Elon Musk and Dogecoin on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. Then Kelly Von Hemel joins to talk to the listening audience to explain what happened with Baffert, gives his background, and talks about steroids including what exactly betamethasone is. They end the hour discussing how they wanna be Ken Miller when they grow up.

To kick off the 5:00 hour the guys get into Quick Hits which covers Albert Pujols, Aaron Rodgers and Danica Patrick. A Justin Timberlake song causes a discussion about celebrities who became famous young inclduing Justin Bieber, Drew Barrymore, Britney Spears and that somehow leads to "I'm on a Boat." Then Chris throws a curveball and takes the lead in Roulette and has a story on space junk.

This week on The First Run, Chris and Matt set ‘em up and knock ‘em down as they discuss this year's Best International Feature winner at The Oscars, ‘Another Round'. TFR favorite Mads Mikkelson stars as one of four teachers that experiment with alcohol to improve their lives as they face a mid-life crisis. Ahhh, sweet, sweet booze. Then Chris spends 10 minutes or so completely naïve of the different definitions of “shiva” as he and Matt review the indie cringe comedy of the decade, ‘Shiva Baby'. To kick off the third hour the guys chat with Iowa State football head coach Matt Campbell on the NFL Draft including how much job security affects selecting a player, his thoughts on Trevor Lawrence, his ranking of the top 5 quarterbacks in the draft, the best player in the draft and Tim Tebow perhaps joining the Jaguars. Then Chris, Ross and Erick all get goofy about scorekeeping roller hockey, the women's prison in Mitchellville and Seinfeld.

Snarf Madness round 1 and what we're watching!   Yes Snarf Madness has started!! Chris and Jerry start round one off with the left side of the bracket this week, the east and west divisions.  The two hosts looked to be almost identical for a minute, and then wildly take separate roads as there choice in games seem to differ greatly.  Chris at one point was ready to come to blows over a pick that may have sent the gaming world in flames! These are the things we have come to expect from a Snarf Madness competition though, these men don't toe the line, they don't follow like lambs to a slaughter!  They carve their own paths, create their own rules, and pick their favorite VIDEO GAMES!!  We have many weeks to go folks so make sure you follow along as we release our picks. After filling out our portion of brackets we get right in to what we are watching.  There hasn't been much in the way of news lately so we may as well talk about some shows!  Jerry has been following a Formula 1 docu-series that's on Netflix and enjoys that quite a bit.  Flacon and the Winter Soldier started last week and Jerry finally watched the first episode, so you know we gotta talk about that.  Then Chris has gotten into the DC world by starting the series Titans on HBO Max.
