"Blossoming Wake was inspired by the field recording “By The Kukkia Lake” by Sirpa Jokinen. I was drawn to this field recording, which was made with a contact microphone, simply because I too have been using contact microphones to record outdoors. "My sound sources consist of contact microphones placed in dead hollow trees (Clark Reservation, Jamesville, NY) and on a creaking gate (Three Falls Woods, Manlius, NY). "Additional sound sources (made with a shotgun microphone) include rubber balls rubbed against a wooden sculpture (Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, Cazenovia, NY) and various water sounds (Crystal Lake, Benzie County, MI). All audio files used to create this “blended landscape” have been edited and processed in the studio using Cubase and Ableton." Kukkia lake, Finland reimagined by Edward Ruchalski.

Send us a Text Message. On July 3, 1992 Sean Googin finished his shift as a dishwasher at the Lincklean House restaurant in Cazenovia, NY. He was walking the 1/2 mile to Gypsy Bay on Cazenovia Lake shortly after 11:00 p.m to meet his family. The town was celebrating the 4th of July with a carnival and a fireworks display. Sean never made it to the lake that night. What happened to Sean Googin the night of July 3rd, 1992? A small town in Central New York would be horrified by the events of that night. It would take police 9 years to bring a killer to justice. In 2016, 22 acres of farmland located outside Cazenovia, NY belonged to a different brewery with different goals. Fast forward to 2019 when that brewery was replaced with Meier's Creek Brewing Company and the result was some of the finest IPA's and sours variety in Central New York. So prepare to be Chasing Goosebumps and give Maximum Effort because It Takes Blue To Tango. Hey, Don't Act Like You're Not Impressed. Okay, enough puns before we get a call from Berry Manilow.

Andrew Szalach is a really amazing FFA student. He has been very involved in the FFA since 6th grade, even before he could officially join in the 7th. So much so that he served as his chapter's vice president during his freshman year and has served as his chapter's president the past two, subsequent years. There is no doubt that when Andrew finds something he is passionate about that he goes "all in". He has demonstrated this in the FFA for the past 5 years, and his supervised agricultural experience is another glaring example. Andrew has a passion for Massey Ferguson tractors, specifically those from the 1970's. So, in 2021 he found one in Northern Pennsylvania that was for sale, a 1974 Model 14. He and his father drove down from New York and purchased it, and he got to work on it once they got home. He says that today he is 80% of the way done with the restoration and hopes to have it complete for shows this summer. In pursuit of this project Andrew applied for and received a $1,000 SAE grant. He also sent out letters asking for donations for his project and received multiple, totally about another $1,000. Just when I thought I knew everything about his SAE he told me that he was obtaining and selling both parts and manuals for 1970's Massey Ferguson tractors. At restoration lots if he finds one that cannot be restored, he will pull parts off of them and sell them online. In addition, he will locate hard to find repair manuals online and then offer them for sale online, printing and binding them only when they are requested. He does this all for little to no profit, just to keep people interested in 1970's Massey Ferguson tractors!
On today's What's Next?, we welcome four people involved with a landscape maintenance technician training program co-sponsored by three local organizations. Gina Burkhardt, the president and CEO of the Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology, and Jeff Lebsack, the director of The Riverline, speak about the origins of the program as well as its ideals. Two workers who have completed the training join to speak about their experiences: Patrick McIntyre, the golf superintendent for Cazenovia, Delaware and South Park Golf Courses; and Rickey Kearney Jr., a supervisor for operations at Delaware Park. All four speak with hosts Thomas O'Neil-White and Jay Moran about what those who complete the training can expect in the job market.

Peggy Van Arnam has been making jewelry since she found herself with a skirt with which she had “nothing to wear.” During her career as a university administrator, she searched for unusual beads and stones as she traveled and made jewelry for herself and her family. In retirement she began taking classes, selling her pieces and approaching jewelry making as a business. Thus Uniquely Yours! was born. In 2002 Peggy co-founded a still thriving cooperative gallery in Upstate New York and remained a member until moving to Cary in 2016.Uniquely Yours! specializes in sterling, glass and gemstone jewelry. Using these materials, Peggy creates one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets and earrings. She is perhaps best known for her sterling chains and her work with Venetian glass. Many pieces of jewelry have a story behind them; some are custom designed. And making pieces longer or shorter to suit the customer is a common occurrence. After all, making it uniquely yours is what it's all about! Emma Tate grew up in a small lakeside town in central New York State riding, living, sleeping, and breathing horses. From day one, Emma has been affiliated with the colorful equestrian world. Her passion for horses led her to compete in several of the top competitions in the United States throughout her riding and training career. It wasn't until the final year of college when she took her first Figure Sculpture class, Emma realized her passion to make one of her greatest loves in art form. Emma's first sculpture was a self-portrait, and the second one a life-sized horse rearing out of the ground which now sits among the trees at the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Cazenovia, New York. The rest is history. Listen in!

The writer of Hebrews quotes Psalm 8, of the glory that God has promised to man. However, it is clear that man does not yet rule the earth with the glory spoken of there. How do we make sense of this? Through the work of Jesus Christ, the "pioneer" of glory.
If God's people listened to the message that angels delivered in the Old Testament, shouldn't God's people pay attention to what His Son has said in these last days?

Jesus accomplished something on earth that gave Him a particular kind of honor when He ascended to Heaven
In these last days, God has spoken to us by His Son. We must listen.
The Church was not created by God to be a social club or a spectator event. The Church is the body of Jesus Christ. Like a physical body, each part is needed for the health of the whole.
And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.
Ep 64 - Generating Innovation in Family Business Listen in as members of the Wetzel* family, Lawrence & Michael*, of Air Innovations discuss the need to constantly seek the advice of others, Michael's unique entry into the family business and a fun story about an exciting design they developed for a major Las Vegas attraction. OUR GUESTS Lawrence E. Wetzel, P.E* Lawrence E. Wetzel is an engineer, an inventor and a businessman. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and BA in Mathematics from St. Vincent College. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the States of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and California, and holds five U.S. patents and one European patent. Starting as a junior engineer for a mechanical contractor, he quickly rose to become President of a division. After merging his company in 1989 with the French company Clestra, he spent the next several years as Chairman of Clestra worldwide cleanroom operations with sales of more than $40 million. In 1994, Mr. Wetzel co-founded Exponential Business Development Company and raised over $5 million in capital to invest in entrepreneurial emerging companies in Upstate New York. In 2002, Exponential was merged with a NYC venture capital firm. Early in 1996, Mr. Wetzel and his son, Michael, acquired controlling interest in Floratech Industries, a manufacturer of refrigerated floral display cases for supermarkets. Early on, the Wetzel's began expanding their product offerings, such as an innovative new air conditioning product, called HEPAir, for the indoor air quality market. In 1999, Floratech acquired the air conditioning manufacturing division back from Clestra and in 2001 changed its name to Air Innovations to better reflect its broader mission. During this same period, Mr. Wetzel became the part-time Chairman and CEO of a Rochester, NY based software development company called Verax Systems. When the day of trouble comes, will you be found faithful and godly? Godliness begins today
God's people can persevere in exile, because He is doing them good, and He is with them, while they are there.
The Lord rules over all people, great and small, and graciously gives each one what they have.
Three men were thrown into the fiery furnace in Babylon, because they would not serve, or worship, the gods there. Could this have application in our day?
A song that talks about God's love and care for us by making us His children is "A Child of the King”. The text was written by Harriet Buell, who was born on Nov. 2, 1834, at Cazenovia, NY.
In spite of current appearances, God is in control, and His Kingdom will win in the end. God's people need to be reminded of this now, just as they did in Daniel's time.
What can we learn from the story of some exiles, some 2600 years ago? How to be faithful, without compromise, while living in a strange land.
When a people refuse to worship the Lord, they are given over, in judgment, to their sinful desires and thoughts. Our culture demonstrates this truth. And yet the patience of God is still evident in all the upheaval.
If the Resurrection isn't true, Christianity comes apart. But it is true. Jesus is Alive, and because He is, He is YOUR Lord. Do you believe? Have you been changed by the Resurrection's power?
The values of Jesus' upside-down Kingdom are on display as He is mocked, beaten and crucified.
The "sinless" was delivered up, while the "sinful" was released. Can you see your place in this passage?
A "safe-distance follower" of Jesus can quickly become a denier, if placed in the right circumstances. Learn this hard lesson from Peter.
The disciples fall and flee, but the Savior stands and stays.
The disciples fall and flee, but the Savior stands and stays.
The night before He died, Jesus eats one last time with His disciples, and He establishes a new "tradition" for the family of God, one that fulfills and replaces the Passover feast.
The night before He died, Jesus eats one last time with His disciples, and He establishes a new "tradition" for the family of God, one that fulfills and replaces the Passover feast.
Who are the real followers of Christ? In this passage, one of the insiders shows himself to be an outsider, and one of the outsiders shows herself to be an insider.

Christians do not have a doubting hope, but a hope that is certain & is truly alive. The resurrection of Christ is the foundation for that hope.
