Edinburgh's Hermitage of Braid reimagined by Daniela O'Fee. "I chose Mark Wilden's recording of water rushing under the bridge at Hermitage of Braid in Edinburgh Scotland as a departure for a reimagined, environmental tone poem.  "Listening to the sound and researching the site's historic ice house along with its recent extreme flooding called to mind last year's unprecedented weather disasters in my Canadian locale of Kamloops on the unceded lands of Tk'emlups te Secwepemc. Reflecting on the record-breaking heat, the wildfires destroying neighbouring villages, and the massive flooding from atmospheric rivers led me to step into a flow of geophonic and human generated sounds as a call for universality in the climate crisis.  "Beginning with my snowshoe trek at Stake Lake, I improvised with internal piano sounds, accordion bellow, loose reel-to-reel tape and deconstructed piano parts before weaving the Scottish stream into our local Peterson Creek in which I tossed stones as wet percussion."

This week, the gals stay in Canada to discuss an unsolved true crime case that has baffled individuals for more than 40 years. The case is that of Gordon Sanderson, an indigenous man who was travelling from Edmonton to Calgary in the 70's to see his brother. Unfortunately, he was never seen again. Simultaneously, a body was found in a septic tank near Tofield. The connections of Gordon's disappearance and, "Septic Tank Sam" weren't made for years, but thanks to DNA samples and the use of forensic genealogy - a connection was made. This week, the gals stay in Canada to discuss an unsolved true crime case that has baffled individuals for more than 40 years. The case is that of Gordon Sanderson, an indigenous man who was travelling from Edmonton to Calgary in the 70's to see his brother. Unfortunately, he was never seen again. Simultaneously, a body was found in a septic tank near Tofield. The connections of Gordon's disappearance and, "Septic Tank Sam" weren't made for years, but thanks to DNA samples and the use of forensic genealogy - a connection was made. In May 2021, the remains of 215 children were found buried on the site of the Kamloops Indian Residential School in Kamloops, British Columbia. Her search of an area on the grounds of the Kamloops Indian Residential School identified 200 of what she called remaining "targets of interest," which may be graves. Residential schools may be a "thing of the past", but there are  many systems in place today *cough cough* THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM, that uphold the same horrific acts of abuse that occurred in Residential schools. We encourage our Indigenous family to reach out to any resources listed below, or elsewhere, if you're  in need of help and to our non-Indigenous family, take the time to educate yourselves on how to be an ally, the not so far off history of our country and, how to do better. It gets a little heated in this episode, so in the words of Tamisha Iman,  "I SAID WHAT I  SAID". Our hearts go out to our Indigenous family; we are holding space for you.

Many idigenous groups that will be impacted by both the Kinder Morgan and Coastal Gaslink pipelines support the two pipelines as a way of alleviating poverty on their reserves. A bid by indigenous group Project Reconciliation to buy 51% of the Kinder Morgan Pipeline, outlines planes to direct 20 per cent of Trans Mountain's estimated $180 million in future annual cash flow to shareholder communities while the rest would be used to create a sovereign wealth fund.   Guest: Shane Gottfriedson B.C.
