Jayant Bhandari: US Hegemony, Pax Sinica, Collapse of India, & Third Worldization

Geopolitics & Empire

Investor and writer Jayant Bhandari offers a pessimistic assessment of current global geopolitics and the decline of Western civilization. Bhandari argues that the world is entering a period of extreme chaos characterized by persistent conflicts in Iran and Ukraine, as well as rising global inflation. He provides a particularly harsh critique of India, describing it as a dysfunctional and corrupt state that is currently de-industrializing despite international propaganda to the contrary. A central theme of the discussion is the impact of mass migration, which Bhandari claims is importing a “third-world mentality” that threatens the demographic and cultural stability of the West. In contrast, he praises East Asian nations like China and Japan for maintaining social homogeneity and suggests they represent the most stable future for investment. Ultimately, Bhandari warns individuals to diversify their assets and residencies to survive increasing state surveillance and societal decay. He advises institutional investors and is known for combining field-based investing with a broader interest in economics, culture, politics, and the institutional foundations of civilization. He served as a director of Gold Canyon, a publicly listed Canadian company, until its merger with another entity. Earlier, he worked for six years with U.S. Global Investors in San Antonio, Texas, and for one year with Casey Research. Immediately after completing his MBA, he established the Indian subsidiary operations of a British company and a German-Swiss company. Before that, he worked with his father in the family's printing press—an experience that gave him a practical education in business that no formal training could match. Jayant writes on investing, economics, politics, culture, and moral philosophy. His work has appeared in Liberty, the Mises Institute, Casey Research, Acting Man, International Man, Mining Journal, Zero Hedge, Lew Rockwell, Fraser Institute, Le Québécois Libre, Mauldin Economics, Northern Miner, Mining Markets, American Renaissance, and Counter-Currents. He is currently working on a book about the civilizational roots of Third World dysfunction and why societies without deeper moral and cultural transformation decay toward pre-colonial forms. He is also the founder of Capitalism & Morality, an annual seminar in Vancouver focused on the moral and cultural foundations without which capitalism and freedom cannot endure. Jayant holds an MBA from Manchester Business School in the UK and a Bachelor of Engineering from SGSITS in India. *Podcast intro music used with permission is from the song “The Queens Jig” by the fantastic “Musicke & Mirth” from their album “Music for Two Lyra Viols”: http://musicke-mirth.de/en/recordings.html (available on iTunes or Amazon)

TQuestions are now being raised about whether Canada's aviation system is facing a dual test of structure and capacity at a critical moment. For decades, major airports have operated under a hybrid model in which non-profit authorities manage operations while the federal government retains ownership of land and core assets. Now, with the Carney government considering a potential shift toward privatization, what could that mean for oversight, costs, and the public interest? At the same time, recent travel disruptions tied to staffing shortages, including a lack of air traffic controllers, have exposed operational strain across the system just as demand is expected to surge ahead of the summer season and the World Cup. Is this a sign of deeper systemic pressure, and are proposed fixes keeping pace with demand? We examine what is changing, what is at stake, and how these parallel pressures may be reshaping Canada's air travel landscape with Jake Fuss of the Fraser Institute, Lily Chang of the Canadian Labour Congress, and Jonathan Bagg of NAV Canada.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Interview with Phil Hoskins, CEO of Atomic EagleRecording date: 24th March 2026Atomic Eagle (ASX:AEU) is advancing the Muntanga uranium project in Zambia with an aggressive resource expansion strategy designed to unlock economies of scale. Led by CEO Phil Hoskins and backed by the founders of Boss Energy and Lotus Resources - both now uranium producers - the company has assembled experienced uranium development expertise to grow a technically proven asset in a tier-one African jurisdiction. The Muntanga project stands on solid ground with a completed NI 43-101 feasibility study and a recently expanded resource of 58.8 million pounds at 309 ppm. What distinguishes this deposit is exceptional metallurgical characteristics: over 90% recoveries, 21-day leach kinetics, and remarkably low acid consumption of just 20 kilograms per ton. These parameters signal favorable economics to experienced developers, though the previous operator's study at 2.2 million pounds per annum production showed insufficient scale to generate attractive returns.Atomic Eagle's solution centers on resource growth. The largest drill program at Muntanga since 2007 launches in April 2026, targeting over 50,000 meters across 10 discrete targets using cost-effective gamma-probe technology at $45 per meter. The company aims to grow resources toward 100+ million pounds to support 4-5 million pounds per annum production by circa 2030, comparable to Bannerman Resources' development model. Current resources, if fully incorporated into a revised mine plan, could already support 3.9 million pounds annually for 12 years. With $19 million in treasury, Atomic Eagle is well-funded to execute its 2026 exploration program and 2027 updated feasibility study. Zambia offers significant jurisdictional advantages: no free carried government interest, established mining infrastructure as the world's seventh-largest copper producer, and Fraser Institute-validated regulatory stability.Additional upside exists through a 116 million pound Niger asset (1,300 ppm grade) currently assigned zero market value. Active negotiations are progressing to return this asset under new terms, with an update expected in the first half of 2026. Recent roadshow feedback confirmed that investors view Atomic Eagle as undervalued based solely on the Zambian asset, positioning the company as a focused development play rather than a speculative exploration play in an increasingly strategic uranium market.View Atomic Eagle's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/atomic-eagleSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

When unions stop representing workers (ft. Brian Lilley)

On this Labour Day episode of The Candice Malcolm Show, guest host Kris Sims pulls back the curtain on the noisy rhetoric that dominates this holiday. While union bosses lead parades and issue warnings that government services will be “cut to the bone,” Canadians deserve to hear the truth about who really represents workers. Kris explains the key difference between trade unions—the carpenters, boilermakers, and plumbers who work with their hands—and government unions like PSAC, which represent bureaucrats inside Ottawa. Trade unions fight for the people who build and fix things. Government unions fight for bigger bureaucracies, higher taxes, and more members on the payroll. Canadians are already paying a steep price. According to calculations highlighted by the Fraser Institute, the average worker loses more than 40 percent of their paycheque to taxes. That means less money for families to buy food, pay rent, or save for the future—while Ottawa keeps growing larger. Since 2015, the federal bureaucracy has ballooned by nearly 100,000 positions, yet services like passports and immigration processing have only gotten worse. Joining Kris is Brian Lilley, political columnist at the Toronto Sun and host of the Full Comment podcast. Brian has spent decades covering politics in Ottawa and Queen's Park. He explains why skilled trades are shifting away from the NDP and toward the Conservatives, what's really going on with Mark Carney's so-called budget “cuts,” and how government departments use scare tactics—threatening to close libraries, parks, or even the RCMP Musical Ride—to block meaningful restraint. The two also discuss how the CBC continues to dodge accountability—refusing to disclose how much taxpayer money is spent on advertising, and hiding how many Canadians actually subscribe to its Gem streaming app. Brian shares his insights on why CBC stonewalls access-to-information requests and how its management culture differs from standard newsrooms. Valkea Resources (TSX-V: OZ | OTCQB: OZBKF | FSE: S600) has launched its fall drill program at the Paana Project in Finland. President & CEO Chris Donaldson joins the KE Report to outline the strategy, starting with step-outs at the Koivu Zone, new target generation, and the company's broader exploration plans in this Tier-1 district. Key points:  Fall Drill Program (~2,000m): Step-outs at the Koivu Zone following encouraging intercepts from the last campaign (e.g., ~55m @ ~1.6 g/t Au; ~36m @ ~1.5 g/t Au), plus ongoing target generation. Geologic Model & Strategy: Koivu Zone shows disseminated “Ikkari/Rupert-style” gold; Honka Zone is “Kittilä-style” high-grade. Team will test if Koivu and Honka zones connect. Target Pipeline: Base-of-till drilling across multiple anomalies and work advancing the northern Rova project. Core Re-logging & Structural Work: Refining structure and controls on mineralization using historic holes to tighten targeting. Team & Operations: New Exploration Manager, Jens Rönnqvist, on the ground in Finland to coordinate fieldwork and community engagement. Jurisdiction & Neighbors: Paana sits in a Tier-1 district alongside Agnico Eagle's Kittilä Mine, B2Gold/Aurion, and Rupert Resources. Finland ranked #1 by the Fraser Institute for mining attractiveness; recent financings underscore capital flowing into the belt. Near-Term Catalysts: Drills now turning; a ~2-month program with assays expected to begin in the fall (lab timing dependent). Step-outs at Koivu are the headline driver. And how does ‘conservative' Premier Doug Ford both support billions in subsidies while criticizing the Liberals' EV mandates? Plus, Canadian Taxpayers Federation federal director Franco Terrazzano joins the show to break down a new Fraser Institute report showing taxes remain the single biggest household expense — bigger than food, housing, or transportation. Hosts: Erin Rider and Andy Cupp  SCOTUS rules in favor of Pres. Trump over Alien Enemies Act  President Trump may move forward with the deportation of Tren de Aragua gang members. That's according to a narrowly split ruling from the United States Supreme Court. But those who are set to be deported must receive due process -- they must receive notice of their deportation under the Alien Enemies Act and must also get their day in court to plead their case as to why they shouldn't be deported. The Inside Sources hosts go in-depth on the ruling.    SCOTUS blocks order requiring Trump administration to reinstate fired federal workers  More confusion today for thousands of federal probationary workers recently fired by the Trump administration. A federal judge had ordered the administration to reinstate those employees, saying the process for the firings was a problem. But this morning, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed that lower court's decision. Now, the Trump Administration has the green light to move ahead with the firings and not worry about reinstating those workers.    Dozens of countries looking to negotiate new tariffs  Will the massive tariffs placed on foreign countries trigger negotiations and improve the trade imbalance? It's what President Trump said would happen, but economists still aren't convinced. However, there are reports now of dozens of countries already reaching out to the administration asking to renegotiate trade and tariffs. That news sent stocks hirer today. Inside Sources discusses the possible negotiations and Congress’ role in all of it.    Cabinet members visit Utah – a sign of the state’s growing political influence?  During their visits to Utah yesterday, three members of President Trump's Cabinet praised the state for its work along the lines of health, food, and transportation. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spoke of wanting to implement a similar ban on fluoride in drinking water – something Utah passed during the legislative session – and make it nationwide. Erin and Andy talk about the growing status of Utah in national politics.    Opinion: Utah will continue trend of cutting taxes  During this last legislative session, the Utah state legislature prioritized giving Utahns yet another tax cut -- for the fifth year in a row. And even though the budget was looking tight, they still found a way to eliminate some taxes, including some taxes on social security benefits. Deseret News Opinion Editor Jay Evensen thinks this tax-cutting trend will continue. He joins the show to talk more about that.    Utah pursuing mining partnership with Canada  Governor Spencer Cox -- joined by state, business, and energy leaders -- continues to tour Canada this week on a mission to strengthen trade ties between the state and Canada. One thing that's been a focus of the visit so far is energy and natural resources. Brian Somers, President of the Utah Mining Association is there on the trade mission and joins us to share some insights.    Dire wolves coming back from extinction  It may sound a little Jurassic Park, and it sort of is. Scientists, using DNA from teeth and bones, say they’ve been able to bring back the extinct dire wolf. Erin and Andy finish the show discussing the potential ethical implications of such a move.

In this episode of the How to Protect the Ocean podcast, host Angelo interviews Mark Zacharias, the Executive Director of Clean Energy Canada. The discussion centers around a rebuttal to an article published by the Fraser Institute, which claimed that renewable energy is going to be significantly more expensive than anticipated. Mark Zacharias addresses three main arguments presented in the Fraser Institute article: Renewable Energy Costs: The article suggests that renewable energy drives up costs and is intermittent, making electricity grids less reliable. Mark counters this by highlighting examples from jurisdictions like South Australia and Iowa, where the transition to renewable energy has led to lower electricity costs. He notes that in Alberta, recent renewable energy procurements have resulted in power bids as low as $0.05 per kilowatt hour, significantly cheaper than the retail electricity rates. Impact of Climate Policies on the Grid: The article argues that climate policies, such as EV sales mandates and natural gas bans, will overwhelm the electricity grid. Mark refutes this by explaining that EVs have a minimal impact on grid demand and can even contribute to grid stability through vehicle-to-grid technologies. He also emphasizes the efficiency of heat pumps compared to traditional heating methods, which can lead to overall energy savings. Electricity Imports and Structural Deficits: The article claims that Canada's reliance on electricity imports indicates a structural deficit. Mark clarifies that while British Columbia has imported power during droughts, this practice allows for strategic management of resources and has resulted in significant profits from power trading. He argues that imports can be beneficial and do not signify a failure of the grid. Throughout the conversation, Mark emphasizes the importance of updated information and the need to move beyond outdated narratives about renewable energy. He advocates for a future where clean energy is not only viable but also economically advantageous, countering the misconceptions perpetuated by the Fraser Institute's article. They discuss Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Bill C-63 (aka The Online Harms Act), what powers it gives to the government, what rights it strips from citizens, and why even Americans should be concerned.Bruce Pardy is executive director of Rights Probe, a law and liberty thinktank, and professor of law at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He is a lawyer, academic, columnist, and outspoken critic of the illiberal managerial state, fighting at the front lines of the culture war inside the law. Bruce writes for the National Post, Epoch Times, and the Brownstone Institute, among others, and serves as senior fellow at the Fraser Institute, the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, and the Frontier Centre for Public Policy. He has taught at law schools in Canada, the United States and New Zealand, practiced civil litigation in Toronto, and served as adjudicator and mediator on the Ontario Environmental Tribunal. The legal ground, Bruce has written, is shifting beneath our feet. The individual is losing to the collective. An ever-expanding bureaucracy regulates life from cradle to grave, including private behavior and speech, in the name of common good. The law has become discretionary, arbitrary, and unequal. The end of Western liberal civilization, as we have known it, is conceivable. Konstantin Kisin is a Russian-British satirist, social commentator, and co-host of the TRIGGERnometry Youtube show. He is also the author of “An Immigrant's Love Letter to the West,” a Sunday Times bestseller. He has written for several publications, including Quillette, The Spectator, The Daily Telegraph, and Standpoint, on issues relating to tech censorship, woke culture, comedy, and other topics, but he currently publishes articles on his popular Substack. Kisin made headlines in 2018 when he refused to sign a "safe space contract" to perform comedy at a British college and again in 2023 when he participated in an Oxford Union debate on the motion of "This House Believes Woke Culture Has Gone Too Far." His speech at the debate received viral attention and has been seen by over 100 million people around the world.  - Links - 2024 tour details can be found here https://jordanbpeterson.com/events    Peterson Academy https://petersonacademy.com/    For Bruce Pardy: On X https://twitter.com/pardybruce?lang=en  For Konstantin Kisin: TRIGGERnometry Podcast    / @triggerpod   Substack https://konstantinkisin.substack.com/ Twitter https://twitter.com/KonstantinKisin?r...
