Special on the Public Meeting in Glenroy in early December, discussing ways to pressure the Victorian government to commit to funding public schools NOW. Some of the issues at play are- 1. The fact that Victorian public schools are among the least funded in the country.2. Victorian teachers are the lowest paid in the country.3. "Full" Gonski funding is not scheduled until 2031, and even then is the BARE MINIMUM as it only claims to bring basic numeracy and literacy to 80% of students.4. The community NEEDS to support teachers in any industrial action they may be forced to take.Great State School of the Week- Beverley Hills Primary Schoolswww.adogs.info

Feliks Banel's guest on this BONUS EPISODE of CASCADE OF HISTORY is Jason Miller, publisher and editor of The CONCRETE HERALD newspaper in Concrete, Washington. Miller provides an update on a debate in Concrete about the future of the office building of the old Superior Cement Company, a historic structure on the west end of Concrete just north of State Route 20. A private business operator wants to buy the building and the real estate and restore the building for commercial use; some Concrete citizens want the city to retain ownership of the building and the real estate, which currently function somewhat like a public park. The issue was discussed at a city council meeting on Monday, November 10, 2025, and a public meeting will be held by the Concrete Chamber of Commerce at the Concrete Theatre on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 6pm. In this episode, Miller reports on what happened at Monday's official meeting, and previews what may happen at Thursday's quasi-official meeting. For more information about the November 13, 2025 meeting taking place at 6pm at the Concrete Theatre: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16hVqC6zcF/ For more information about the CONCRETE HERALD and Jason Miller: https://concrete-herald.com/ CASCADE OF HISTORY is broadcast LIVE most Sunday nights at 8pm Pacific Time via SPACE 101.1 FM in Seattle and gallantly streams everywhere via www.space101fm.org. A video went public of Trump, JD Vance, and Zelensky sitting at a meeting discussing continued U.S. support of Ukraine. Trump called him a poor leader and accused him of disrespect that he was unthankful what we had done for him so far. Was it just a publicity stunt? Trump admitted it makes great TV. We wonder the purpose of making it public. An alternative site accused Bill Gates of pumping Bird Flu into the food supply. A meme went viral stating that Gates was caught injecting birds. However, that is a bit irrational. We find the meme came from a tabloid media source that others adopted in their own publications to accuse Gates of personally being involved. Like Bill is out on farms sneaking in to inject their livestock. While the story is far fetched, and of course Gates Foundation spokespersons deny that Gates admitted such, it can be believable that Gates would favor such incidents to promote the need for vaccines, in which he is fully invested. His foundation donated chickens to Africa that may have been infected, so this gives a foundation (no pun intended) for such a story of intent. Will we see full documents on the Epstein Files or JFK? Many suspect a redacted highly edited copy to be made public.
Francia Garcia Hernandez, reporter for Block Club Chicago, joins Lisa Dent to share her story of being kicked out of a public meeting. Hernandez details what happened at a meeting in Pilsen that was announced as a public meeting. When Hernandez showed up, she was removed by Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez’s staff.
When 25th Ward officials announced the reopening of a controversial Pilsen bar at a public meeting last week, Francia Garcia Hernandez wasn't allowed to hear what neighbors had to say about it.That's because Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez's 25th Ward chief of staff kicked her out, a move media experts say may violate First Amendment rights that protect the press' right to investigate and report the news. We believe all neighborhoods deserve to be covered in a meaningful way.We amplify positive stories, cover development and local school council meetings and serve as watchdogs in neighborhoods often ostracized by traditional news media.Ground-level coverageOur neighborhood-based reporters don't parachute in once to cover a story. They are in the neighborhoods they cover every day building relationships over time with neighbors. We believe this ground-level approach not only builds community but leads to a more accurate portrayal of a neighborhood.Stories that matter to you — every daySince our launch five years ago, we've published more than 25,000 stories from the neighborhoods, covered hundreds of community meetings and send daily and neighborhood newsletters to more than 130,000 Chicagoans. We aim to change that by celebrating our neighborhoods and chronicling the resilience of the people who fight every day to make Chicago a better place for all.
