Welcome to the Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast! In today's episode, we're helping parents rediscover themselves and step into their next chapter.Amanda is a wife, a proud mom of three, a corporate professional and now, a business owner! She has always wanted to be a business owner. But for years, it felt like one of those “if I could do it all over again…” kind of dreams. So instead, she built a career in corporate America growing, learning, achieving but always wondering if there was something more aligned with who she truly was.Throughout her career, curiosity led her to many career development sessions but one specifically about backwards career planning really made an impact. The exercise seemed simple: define your dream job, then map the roles needed to get there. But she hit a wall, what was her dream job? That question cracked something open in her. As she peeled back the layers, a deep truth emerged: she wanted to coach, support, guide, and develop others. That was her purpose. But it felt so disconnected from the career path she was on. So, she shelved the dream once again. And had a few more kids while she was at it. Until the universe nudged her. There was a job shadowing opportunity where she could keep her current role and start coaching colleagues on the side. And her employer was going to train her to be a coach… She couldn't sign up fast enough. She remembers when she was being interviewed for the “role” the interviewer asked her about a time she had coached someone informally and she cried while telling the story. Not because of nerves, but because she was so proud of the person she was talking about. The moment Amanda stepped into coaching, everything clicked. Her passion found a path. The world started to align in ways she never imagined. Now, she's not just dreaming about what could have been, she's living it. She has built a business rooted in growth, empowerment, and transformation. She has a beautiful family, a wonderful marriage, and a corporate career. And she's here to help others rise, shine, and evolve just like she did.Connect with Amanda Here: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61571442476982Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/evolutionary_coach860/Website:https://evolutionarycoach860.my.canva.site/rise-shine-evolutionary-coaching?fbclid=PAQ0xDSwM4F6ZleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABp3_D-UgkhLejsnvdHrPv8V99m8pDcFELFHAXKfIK4vU8zbzKoWbxEE38NG5Q_aem_2cWJv2s8-O_lZedPUGA1wg===================================If you enjoyed this episode, remember to hit the like button and subscribe. https://www.scottstirrett.com/about My mission is to help people reach their full potential. As the Founder and CEO of Venture for Canada (VFC), I've spent the past decade building a national movement that equips early-career professionals with the skills, networks, and mindset needed to thrive in an uncertain economy. Since launching VFC in 2013, I've supported over 10,000 young people in launching their careers and raised more than $80 million to expand entrepreneurial opportunities across Canada. Our impact has been made possible through collaborations with Employment and Social Development Canada, RBC Foundation, TD Bank, Scotiabank, and leading Canadian foundations. I'm also the author of The Uncertainty Advantage, a practical guide for young professionals navigating today's unpredictable global economy. The book is endorsed by leaders including Andrew Yang, Stephen Poloz, Amanda Lang, Eric Ries, Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, and Michele Romanow. It draws on my experience scaling VFC and emphasizes the importance of adaptability, entrepreneurial thinking, and lifelong learning in the future of work. Before founding VFC, I worked at Goldman Sachs in New York City. I'm a graduate of Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service and have been fortunate to be recognized as a TELUS LGBTQ Innovator of the Year, a Young Impact Leader by Future of Good, a Globe and Mail Changemaker, an Action Canada Fellow, and an Ashoka Fellow. I grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia—a place that continues to shape how I think about community and opportunity. My commentary has appeared in outlets such as The Washington Post, Forbes, The Globe and Mail, CBC News Network, and BNN Bloomberg. I currently serve as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights and sit on the Board of the Speech and Debate Canada Foundation.
