Steve Crossman & BBC Sport Wales' Dafydd Pritchard look at how the Welsh FA are fast becoming world leaders in producing elite coaches – with the likes of Mikel Arteta, Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira being just some of many illustrious products of the FAW's coaching system. In this episode the guys head to Newport, where they're given access to the FAW's 2025 Pro License course in Newport, and speak to some of this years candidates who graduate this summer. You'll hear from the likes of former Arsenal defender Gaël Clichy, who talks about spending time with the SAS as part of the course. Nuri Şahin opens up about his research project on the All Blacks and why he wanted to study culture after being sacked by Borussia Dortmund in January this year, and Wales Manager Craig Bellamy discusses his love of Japanese culture and why part of his approach to coaching is to try to 'save people' from the mistakes he made.
Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 569 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Don't touch Mr Frost's Muff and Brian makes a huge confession Good Morning tonechasers! Brian van Winkel has aroused himself from his slumber and he is suffering from a severe case of builders' crack but has invented the successor to MTV so all is well. Do you enjoy making music? Some Ai feller thinks that the fun is not in the playing and the guys rage apoplectic at this outrageous notion. Brian tries to describe a famous cryptid and fails and the irony is observed. The rise of Ai videos has got the guys worried (again) so Richard asks the machine what Brian thinks about Pink Floyd...and he makes a huge surprise confession! Richard is sad about the death of Sly Stone and pays tribute to one of his favorite musical bandleaders of all time. Should Wampler make a new tweaked Tumnus? There was a post in the Wampler Facebook group and Richard challenges Brian with the idea. Richard has an idea for a new video series and Blake is not impressed as he repeats his explanations. He has also has visited the worst pub in the world and tells us about it. Blake is excited by the Wigan kebab. Kirk Hammett's secret sales, Zappa, Thierry Henry, The Tumnus company, Holy Holy, Scotch Eggs, Roadhouse Blues...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/@chasingtonepodcastAwesome Course, Merch and DIY mods:https://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Find us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Contact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show

Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Every now and then we like to Rewind to one of our favorite episodes, normally when one of us is too ill to record or has gone on vacation. At least one of those things has happened this week so we bring you one of our all time favorite episodes...Brian, Blake, and Richard were joined by a special guest for this episode of Chasing Tone Rewound - Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters...We have an extra special guest this week and Brian may or may not fanboy a little bit. It is of course Chris Shiflett who is a monster player with a huge back catalogue of work - including playing in one of Brian's favorite bands, the Foo Fighters. Chris has some very cool new music coming out and also has his own podcast, Walking The Floor, and we talk about some of his escapades including a rare first hand peek into international tour bus life.Chris is a super nice dude, and his stories are absolutely fascinating. The guys talk about how Blake first discovered his music. They also go deep into Chris' love of classic rock and roll, and country music, and the influences that drove him to explore country based rock further. The guys then go right back to Chris' roots and his teenage years and find out all about his earliest tastes and influences and his signature Fender guitar. Conversation turns to his different rigs and then pedals...Brian may have found his new happy place amongst all this Foo tinged pedal talk.Chris has an idea for a custom delay pedal, and gives the guys an entertaining demonstration, and it just so happens Brian knows a guy. As well as being a fantastic player and all round legend, Chris loves football, sorry "soccer", and Richard and he share a love for the same football team so speak in what Blake and Brian can only describe as a completely foreign language. Brian's head spins, and he has fallen in love with one of Chris' solo songs "Born & Raised" so plays a little clip which instantly wins Blake over too. Right at the end Chris gives us some absolute golden insights into his songwriting process which is worth the admission fee itself. This is a special episode and the team hope you enjoy it and would like to say a huge thanks to Chris for coming on - go check out his new music! There may be a swear or two in this but heck - that's rock and roll baby!Van Life, Thierry Henry, The Stone Roses, Glaser mods, Panning Tremelo, Custom Chris Shiflett Delay pedal, Mopey minor keys...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!Check out Chris Shiflett's music here and his Podcast Here and look for him on TikTok, kids!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Merch and DIY mods:https://modyourownpedal.com/collections/booksFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show

Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse.UEFA Champions League quarterfinals start today, and today's matchups are the more tightly contested ones. According to Opta's prediction module, Arsenal-Real Madrid is the toughest quarterfinal to predict. It gets started in London today. Very little history between the two, Thierry Henry led the Gunners to a win in the Round of 16 over the Galacticos in 2006, but that's it. Madrid's defensive woes will be the focus for Mikel Arteta's attack, especially with Bukayo Saka back in action for Arsenal. Bayern host Inter today as well, two of the best defensive teams in Europe this season. However, Bayern are missing Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upemecano to injury so that defense is nowhere near full-strength. Tomorrow's quarterfinals see Barcelona heading to Borussia Dortmund and PSG hosting Aston Villa. In the second legs of the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals tonight, Cruz Azul hosts Club América while the LA Galaxy have to go to Monterrey to face Tigres. Gabriel Pec is back for the Galaxy, but it's a big ask to get past Tigres considering LA has only won one match in ten in 2025.Tomorrow, Pumas will host Vancouver while Miami hosts LAFC.Your Copa Libertadores match to watch tonight is Barcelona SC, led by the dashing Sir Second Alexander Castle (Segundo Alejandro Castillo for newcomers to the Morning Espresso), traveling to Buenos Aires to face River Plate. Can't wait to see what Castillo wears on the touchline, but there won't be any fans in the building to see it as River has to play behind closed doors due to punishments from CONMEBOL dating back to the 2024 Libertadores semfinal that saw many rules violations from the club (fireworks, etc) and racist behavior from the stands. It was reported yesterday that Inter Miami holds the discovery rights to Kevin De Bruyne. However, they don't have a Designated Player slot for him, so he would have to take a maximum TAM deal to sign for the rest of the 2025 season (around $870K). Will he take a deal for that to get a DP deal next year? Lots still to sort out. Big time congrats to Soccer America as they begin their 55th year of publication today. It was on this date that their first edition was published in 1971. The work done by Clay Berling and so many others to cover the game in this country, and what is now being continued by Paul Kennedy and Mike Woitalla and their team, is unmatched and has been essential to growing the game in this country. Soccer America is a must for anyone in the sport in this country. We're not here without them. Thank you to everyone who has ever been associated with SA! More Espresso coming on Thursday on the SDH Network, presented by Oglethorpe University.

Lauren Laverne talks to Ian Wright in an episode first broadcast in 2020.Ian Wright is a former professional footballer and now a football pundit on TV and radio. He began his career at Crystal Palace before moving to Arsenal where he became their highest goal scorer of all time, a record only surpassed eight years later by Thierry Henry.Born to a Jamaican couple in south-east London, Ian grew up with his mother and step-father. He continued to play for amateur sides. By the age of 21, he had three children to provide for, so when Crystal Palace came calling in 1985, he turned them down three times before accepting a two-week trial, followed by a three-month contract. His football career had finally begun. After impressing as a forward at Palace, he was bought by Arsenal for a record fee in 1991. He was called up to the England squad the same year and would go on to collect 33 caps. He spent his last couple of years in professional football at a number of clubs around the country and in total, he played 581 league games, scoring 387 goals for seven clubs in England and Scotland. Since his retirement from football in 2000, he has had a career as a pundit on both TV and radio. He has eight children and has been happily married to his second wife, Nancy, since 2011.DISC ONE: The Marriage of Figaro: Duettino - Sull'aria by Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, composed by Lorenzo Da Ponte and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart DISC TWO: Looking For You by Kirk Franklin DISC THREE: River Deep Mountain High by Ike and Tina Turner DISC FOUR: Redemption Song by Bob Marley & The Wailers DISC FIVE: Mysteries of the World by MSFB DISC SIX: Endlessly by Randy Crawford DISC SEVEN: Crown by Stormzy DISC EIGHT: Just Fine by Mary J BligeBOOK CHOICE: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon LUXURY ITEM: A seven iron golf club and golf balls CASTAWAY'S FAVOURITE: Endlessly by Randy CrawfordPresenter: Lauren Laverne Producer: Cathy Drysdale
