Jesus Followers Are Expected to Serve the Needs of Others and to Reflect Jesus to Others as We Serve their Needs – “To Serve is Christ” MESSAGE SUMMARY:  You will never be more like Jesus than when you are serving others; and your best way to witness to non-believers is for them to see Jesus in you. Your best example of service is Jesus. To serve is Christ. Jesus instructed us, regarding serving others, in Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”. Jesus, the Son of Man, did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. If Jesus came, lived, and died on earth as a servant, why would you, as a Jesus Follower, not realize that you are expected to serve? If, as Paul tell us in Romans 8:28-29, we are being conformed into the image of Jesus, then we are being taught how to serve: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.". To serve is to live as a reflection, to others, of Jesus in you.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, fill me with the simple trust that even out of the most awful evil around me, you are able to bring great good — for me, for others, and for your great glory. In Jesus' name, amen.                        Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 91). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Procrastination. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Faithfulness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Romans 8:28-29; Romans 14:18-19; Daniel 4:17; Psalms 38a:1-11. A WORD FROM THE LORD WEBSITE: www.AWFTL.org. We Serve by Loving, Teaching and Protecting with Angelo SiscoAngelo Sisco is an international speaker, guide, and head coach at Alpha Hippie. Angelo has dedicated himself to empowering men who are overwhelmed and are stuck in a cycle of stress and burnout. Angelo has helped thousands of men reconnect to their mission and rebuild their lifestyle so they can enjoy their lives and get back to crushing it both personally and professionally. On October 15th, 2002, Angelo Sisco was involved in a hit and run motorcycle accident that changed his life forever. In an instant, he went from being a 20-year-old entrepreneur to someone fighting to save his leg and his way of life. After 8 surgeries, two months in a hospital bed, 5 months of daily rehab and the encouraging news from his doctors that any kind of athletics is permanently out of the question, Angelo fell into a deep depression. In 2009 he discovered CrossFit and everything changed once again. He had a new focus. He had a new purpose. He lost 100 pounds, which catapulted a 10-year journey that he couldn't even imagine. During the 2010's, Angelo opened O'Hare CrossFit and CrossFit Harwood Heights, consulted over 400 CrossFit Affiliates worldwide, co-founded Lifestyle Nutrition and Conquer Athlete, became an international speaker on how to succeed as an Affiliate owner, and coached multiple CrossFit Games competitors.Angelo's success in coaching and business gave him the confidence to begin what he would consider his most important journey of them all; his self-development, which he began in 2015.  After years of deep inner work, reflection, and growth Angelo titled his journey of self-discovery, Alpha Hippie. In true Angelo Sisco fashion, he followed what inspired him and began sharing his message through his podcast Alpha HIppie, and began mentoring other men on their path to self-discovery. In late 2019, Angelo realized he was at a crossroads in his career.  A choice had to be made; to either stay in a place of comfort or to step into the identity that was calling him: Alpha Hippie.  Angelo chose to step fully into Alpha Hippie.  In 2020, the most unprecedented time in our recent history, Angelo removed himself from all business ventures that were CrossFit related, moved his new family to San Clemente, California, and partnered up with Markus Gerszi and Ryan Bucciantini to embark on a renewed and more focused version of Alpha Hippie. Alpha Hippie's mission is to help overwhelmed men over 30, who are stuck in stress and burnout, reconnect to their mission and rebuild their lifestyle, so they can enjoy their free time again and get back to crushing it at work. Alpha Hippie share's their mission via their men's Facebook group “The Way of the Courageous Man”, the Alpha Hippie Podcast, and their world-class program for men entitled Alpha Hippie Mastery. In his free time, Angelo loves to travel, eat great food, and spend quality time with the people closest to him. The Alpha Hippie InstagramThe Alpha Hippie - YoutubeThe Alpha Hippie WebsiteBuilding Men YouTubeBuilding Men FacebookBuilding Men InstagramBuilding Men WebsiteBuildingmencoach@gmail.comCheck out our sponsor – type BUILDINGMEN at checkout for 15% off your purchasehttps://gmrevolution.com/GM Revolution Instagram

I’M SHARING TODAY’S PODCAST WITH THE INDICATION FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT WHAT I’M SHARING IS A PROPHETIC INSIGHT FOR THOSE LISTENING OR READING REGARDING WORLD HAPPENINGS AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE.   A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A CRUCIAL PROJECT, I found my life barraged and pressured by distractions of all kinds. Now, this is not an unusual pattern.   DISTRACTIONS COME TO STEAL OUR PASSION, OUR PURPOSE, GOD’S PROMISES, AND HIS PROVISION.   I have a scripture and a strategy that I use when distractions come to derail my focus now that really helps to keep me on track and focus on what’s in front of me. This can apply to everything from work, house cleaning, Counseling, writing and ministry, right down to sticking with the list for the grocery store, and not adding extra cheese and crackers and other goodies in the shopping basket!   WHEN NEHEMIAH WAS REBUILDING THE WALL, distractions came in the form of men calling out to him, high up on his ladder, to come down to discuss “their” important matters. These men presented concerns and rumors they feared to be truth, and, they were persistent and insistent that he come down and address the matters with them immediately! Nehemiah responds plainly, "I cannot come down, I am doing a great work."   THERE ARE MANY DISTRACTIONS BEING HURLED AT THE BODY OF CHRIST CONSTANTLY. So what do we do? We look those distractions square in the face and we say, "We cannot come down. We are doing a great work." End. Of. Story.   WE HAVE NO TIME FOR DISTRACTIONS. THERE'S TOO MUCH ON THE LINE. There's restoration to be done, broken down walls and broken down people to be filled back up, truth to be told, healing to be performed, love and justice to manifest and so on.   AND WHILE WE ARE DOING THESE ASSIGNED BY THE LORD TASKS,  (because if they’re not assigned by the Lord then we’re basically doing our own thing, not his important work), while we are doing the assigned things from the Lord, we pray.  And by that I mean, we dialog with God our Father, and praise, and tell Jesus about the gratitude that we have for His life that He poured out for us, and speak back to Him the words He taught us in the 4 New Testament Gospels. And we also allow the Holy Spirit of God to have access to our hearts, bringing a sweet exposure and conviction where we might need to have our hearts cleaned up and "grown up" further in the way God has mapped out for those He loves so very much.   When we do these things in reverence and determination as we work, You will find that we do not have time for distractions.   WHEN GOD SPEAKS AND WHEN WE FELLOWSHIP WITH JESUS, and when the Holy Spirit is busy working in the dry and hard places of our souls, as we do that in our work, every single day, we do not have time for other distractions!  We. Cannot. Come. Down.   WE CANNOT TAKE TIME TO BE PULLED INTO CONVERSATIONS THAT ARE WICKED, "weasely", and filled with all kinds of narratives that have nothing to do with what God has and IS doing right now right in front of us in our daily lives.   THAT DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE NOT TO BE INFORMED AND... ...that we are not to be advocates for godly truths. That is part of rebuilding walls that have come down in our society. But getting into non-ending dialogs and basically verbal fights with people who just want to prove a point is literally drawing us into distraction and frustration.   SPIRITUAL WARFARE. It’s a Reality and Intense Fight for Good Over Evil! Listen ever so closely to these mighty battle strategies against distractions! Now my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last Instructions. Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-your union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you.  Put on God’s complete set of armor provided for us, so that you will be protected as you fight against the evil strategies of the accuser! Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms.  For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage. Because of this, you must wear all the armor that God provides so you’re protected as you confront the slanderer, for you are destined for all glorious and godly things and will rise victorious. - Ephesians 6: 10-13   FRIENDS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST GOOD AND EVIL! We are doing a great work! We are obeying God! And, let’s hope that we aren’t doing it with haughtiness or an attitude of being a little better than everyone else in the way that we serve God! No way! Someone whom God has called to rebuild or to restore and to do every day jobs, understands that the distractions of ego or the distractions of frustration, often create breaks in relationships, breaks in friendships and it kills the opportunity to have peace with God fully.   SO FRIENDS! REFOCUS. Do not negotiate with distractions. Simply move on and put your hands to the great work before you. Humbly. Purposefully. Without an attitude of needing to prove you’re heroic.   WE WORK, WE SERVE, WE LOVE AND WE FIGHT, with our eyes focused on the One who rides at the forefront of our battles. He’s there day and night, radiating comfort, wisdom, and grants discernment for every challenging situation that you and I will face.   MY FINAL PRAYER FOR YOU AS I CLOSE OUT TODAY’S PODCAST, is from Hebrews 13:21 “May God Equip You With All You Need For Doing His Will. May He Produce In You, Through The Power Of Jesus Christ, Every Good Thing That Is Pleasing To Him. All Glory To Him Forever And Ever! Amen.”   STAY STEADY ON WARRIORS.  WE CANNOT COME DOWN TO NEGOTIATE WITH DISTRACTIONS. WE HAVE GOD’S WORK TO DO.   Duplication and sharing of this writing is welcomed provided that complete source, podcast and website information for Mary Lindow is included. Why do WE SERVE?   Title:  Because We Are Free (John 8:36) (NLT) So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. (Galatians 5:13) (CEV) My friends, you were chosen to be free. So don't use your freedom as an excuse to do anything you want. Use it as an opportunity to serve each other with love.  (Luke 10:29) (NIV) But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”  (Luke 10:30) (NIV) In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. (Luke 10:31) (NIV) A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. (Luke 10:31) (NIV) So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. You will always have an excuse to justify not getting involved. 1.    Interruption (Luke 10:33-34) (NIV) But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.  He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 2.    Contribution (Luke 10:35) (NIV) The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,' he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'  3.    Transformation (Luke 10:36-37) (NIV) “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” (Matthew 9:36) (NIV) When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.  (Matthew 9:37-38) (NLT) He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” (Philippians 2:20-21) (NIV) I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. (1 John 3:16) (Message) This is how we've come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed his life for us. This is why we ought to live sacrificially for our fellow believers, and not just be out for ourselves. If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God's love? It disappears. And you made it disappear.

What Rick Warren said is true: “The only way you can serve God is by serving other people”. This is exactly what our new series is all about. We will unite together to serve our county, community and church. WE serve isn't just a series, it's who we are.   Why do WE SERVE?  Title to Message:  Because we care.  (Mark 10:45) (NLT) For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. Serving Stoppers 1.    A wrong view of self. (1 Peter 2:9) (NLT) …you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 2.    A wrong view of people. (Matthew 9:36) (NIV) When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.  3.    A wrong view of God. (Jeremiah 32:17) (NLT) “O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!  (Ephesians 4:1) (NLT) Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. (John 14:12) (NLT) I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. (Ephesians 3:20) (NLT) Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (Ephesians 3:21) (NLT) Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. Where do we start?  (2 Kings 3:9) (NCV) So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom. After they had marched seven days, there was no more water for the army or for their animals that were with them.   (2 Kings 3:12) (NCV) The king of Israel said, “This is terrible! The Lord has called us three kings together to hand us over to the Moabites!”   (2 Kings 3:12) (NCV) But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there a prophet of the Lord here? We can ask the Lord through him.” An officer of the king of Israel answered, “Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He was Elijah's servant.” Jehoshaphat said, “He speaks the Lord's truth.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to see Elisha.   (2 Kings 3:13) (NCV) Elisha said to the king of Israel, “I have nothing to do with you. Go to the prophets of your father and to the prophets of your mother!” The king of Israel said to Elisha, “No, the Lord has called us three kings together to hand us over to the Moabites.”   (2 Kings 3:14) (NCV) Elisha said, “As surely as the Lord All-Powerful lives, whom I serve, I tell you the truth. I wouldn't even look at you or notice you if Jehoshaphat king of Judah were not here. I respect him.   (2 Kings 3:15) (NCV)  Now bring me someone who plays the harp.   (2 Kings 3:15) (NCV) While the harp was being played, the Lord gave Elisha power.   (2 Kings 3:16) (NCV) Then Elisha said, “The Lord says to dig holes in the valley.   (2 Kings 3:17-19) (NCV)  The Lord says you won't see wind or rain, but the valley will be filled with water. Then you, your cattle, and your other animals can drink.  This is easy for the Lord to do; he will also hand Moab over to you.  You will destroy every strong, walled city and every important town. You will cut down every good tree and stop up all springs. You will ruin every good field with rocks.   (2 Kings 3:20) (NCV) The next morning, about the time the sacrifice was offered, water came from the direction of Edom and filled the valley. 1. Serving is birthed in God's presence. 2. Serving goes beyond inspiration to participation. 3. Serving happens regardless of what is seen. (1 Corinthians 3:7) (NLT) It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow.

WE SERVE CENTRAL!  Title of Message: The Walk (Luke 24:13) (NIV) Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. (Luke 24:14-17) (NIV) They were talking with each other about everything that had happened.  As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them;  but they were kept from recognizing him. He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?” (Luke 24:17-18) (NIV) They stood still, their faces downcast.  One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”   Observations from The Walk: 1.    Jesus shows up at the worst moment. (Luke 24:19-23) (NIV) “What things?” he asked. “About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.  The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.  In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning but didn't find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive.   2.    Jesus' words will cause your heart to burn (Luke 24:25-27) (NIV) He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. (Luke 24:31-32) (NIV) Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”  3.    Jesus will cause you to take hope back to where you lost it. (Luke 24:33-35) (NIV) They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread. (Hebrews 4:12) (NIV) For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
