Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on Wednesday at a conservative activism event held at Utah Valley University. President Trump called this political assassination “a tragedy,” while speaking with FOX's Bret Baier, the President praised Kirk as “an unbelievable patriot” who captured the adoration of America's conservative youth. FBI Director Kash Patel told reporters Wednesday night that the perpetrator of this fatal shooting is in custody. Executive editor & anchor of The Story With Martha MacCallum, Martha MacCallum joins the Rundown to react to shockwaves this assassination is sending through the political world and how this recurring pattern of political violence points to a nation on the brink of crisis. The September 11th terror attacks remain one of the nation's most defining and devastating moments, claiming thousands of lives and causing immense damage to one of America's most populous cities. Frank Siller, Tunnel to Towers Chairman & CEO, joins the Rundown to discuss how he created the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in honor of his younger brother, FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller, and why he remains dedicated to supporting the families of fallen first responders and military service members. President Trump is escalating the war on drugs, announcing last week a successful U.S. military strike in the Caribbean, taking out a drug trafficking boat near the coast of Venezuela. The following day, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told FOX & Friends that 11 people on the boat whom he called “terrorists” were eliminated. Often, law enforcement traces how these drug trafficking boats bring dangerous drugs onto America's streets. The Drug Enforcement Administration is on the front lines battling exactly that. Special Agent Frank Tarentino is part of the DEA New York Division and joins the Rundown to explain the latest challenges in the war on drugs. As Democrats wade through dismal poll numbers, different party members are staking out their positions and messaging to Americans about President Trump's latest initiatives on crime, the border, and the economy. Former DNC Press Secretary Jose Aristuimuno says when it comes to the way the President is tackling the issue of crime and public safety, it may be worth Democrats trying to collaborate rather than fight with President Trump. Chief of Staff to the White House Press Office under President Biden and Principal at Podium Strategies Yemisi Egbewole joins the podcast to break down the latest internal divisions and what the future holds for the Democratic Party. The saga of Jeffrey Epstein is ongoing and ever-present in the news.  And there are powerful lessons to be learned.  But the talking heads are mostly just spinning their wheels.  So, if you're seeking some straight talk and inside scoop about all of it, you've come to the right place.   This is a 2-part episode, as there is much ground to cover.  The title, of course, is an homage to the great Beatles song.  But in truth, Ms. Maxwell does indeed wield a hammer.  The Trump folks want to use it to do damage control and she's looking to dig a tunnel out of the federal bureau of prisons.  It remains to be seen whether Ghislaine Maxwell will be the extinguisher or the accelerant to this dumpster fire of a case.   IN THIS EPISODE: Preamble:  Ghislaine is talkin' to the feds, but to what end? Thoughts on whether Epstein took his own life, through the lens of the suicide and mental health epidemic in jails and prisons; The non-prosecution plea agreement that Ghislaine Maxwell says requires dismissal of all her charges; What this really shows is the importance of well drafted plea agreements; Statistical analysis of the “trial penalty”; Fighting the dreaded appeal waiver in plea agreements; Pleading “straight up” when the government is offering you a terrible plea agreement.   Stay tuned for PART II!

With a dangerous amount of the drug supply now laced with this deadly substance, overdose deaths are surging, especially among young people. President Trump recently signed the Halt Fentanyl Act, expanding law enforcement's ability to crack down on traffickers. Gregory Swan, who lost his son Drew to a fentanyl overdose in 2013, co-founded Fentanyl Fathers to raise awareness and prevent more families from suffering the same loss. He joins the Rundown to discuss his mission: educating students, empowering parents, and mobilizing a movement to fight the fentanyl crisis. This week, a tug-of-war over the Trump administration's sweeping tariffs imposed using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977. The Court of International Trade blocked President Trump's tariffs, arguing the act did not give the President unbounded tariff authority. The White House economic team is confident the administration will defeat this legal challenge, with an appeals court already ruling that these tariffs can remain in effect pending the appeal. FOX News Sunday anchor Shannon Bream joins the Rundown to highlight this legal challenge to the President's tariffs, Elon Musk's departure from the Trump administration, and investigations being launched into the Biden administration. President Trump wants a lot more nuclear power production in the United States, signing executive orders a week ago focused on quadrupling U.S. capacity within 25 years. Nuclear power has long been associated with high-profile disasters and fears of mishaps, but nuclear advocates say it actually is cleaner and safer than fossil fuels. Jacob DeWitte is the co-founder and CEO of nuclear technology company Oklo, and he was at the executive order signing. First, Agriculture Department Secretary Brooke Rollins joins the Rundown to discuss the expansion of U.S. farm products into the UK and what the President teased as "billions of dollars of export opportunities produced by America's great farmers." Currently, Republicans hold a supermajority, and it's time to renew many of the cuts established in 2017 that are set to expire soon. While many GOP members advocate for maintaining these cuts, some are seeking modifications. FOX Business Anchor David Asman joins the Rundown to explain what these tax cuts entail, why many in the business community believe they'd be beneficial to remain in effect, and why extending them may still be a political challenge. Many police departments across the U.S. have a shared problem: not enough officers. This can also mean that police can respond to calls or solve crimes. Countless states have filed lawsuits against President Trump's executive order, “Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections,” which includes mandatory proof of citizenship or voter ID and requirements for states' to cooperate with the DOJ on election fraud-related cases. Former Congressman, host of Sunday Night in America, and host of the Trey Gowdy Podcast, Trey Gowdy joins the Rundown to discuss why the increased amount of lawfare against the President's executive power threatens to disturb the equilibrium between the three branches. Today marks one week until Tax Day, and for millions of Americans, the word "taxes" is synonymous with stress. A recent internal survey from TurboTax shows that one in five Americans would prefer to speak in front of a crowd rather than tackle their taxes. It's estimated that nearly one quarter of Americans wait until the last minute to file. Kemberly Washington, a certified public accountant and tax reporter for Bankrate, joins the Rundown to discuss why many people depend on annual refunds, the free resources available, and tips for filing taxes.
