National Road Safety Week kicks off today, a time to reflect on the currentpoor driving standard in this state, National Road Safety Week the projectof Peter Frazer whose daughter Sarah was tragically killed by a truck driverin a totally avoidable crash on the Hume Highway at Mittigong in February2012. Since then, Peter has devoted his life to improving road safety -founding SARAH, standing for Safer Australian Roads and Highways. Thedriving force behind Australia’s National Road Safety Week and the roadsafety symbol the Yellow Ribbon. A campaign suggesting you wear ayellow ribbon on yourself and your car to show your support and make apledge on the SARAH website – “to drive so others survive” – to me giventhe total disregard by many motorists to road safety wearing a yellowribbon on yourself and your car is far too weak a message to what is aworsening problem year on year. We’ve just had two long weekends withincreased fatalities and numerous injuries. It’s clear there has beensubstantial vehicle growth in N.S.W. – a lot of new drivers mainly fromoverseas with poor knowledge of our road rules and driving conditions –you witness it almost daily – driver behavior and attitude is at an all-timelow, and driver education and compliance testing is in need of a radicaloverhaul. "Never apologize. It's a sign of weakness."We know we're quite a ways into 2025, but Happy New Year everyone. Anders & Adam Holmes are back with a new trilogies episode! On this episode, the Holmes Brothers hop on their horses and ride out west to Monument Valley. They again discuss and analyse three favourite westerns from their childhood, two of which they saw a lot on VHS (remember those?). The movie trilogy they are looking at on this episode is: John Ford's The Cavalry Trilogy. It includes Fort Apache (1948), She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949) and Rio Grande (1950).All three films star John Wayne and feature regular members of Ford's acting troupe like Henry Fonda, John Agar, Harry Carey Jr, Ben Johnson, George O'Brien and Victor McLaglen. John Ford was very much in his mythical period when making these westerns. We hope you like this episode and do check out the films, if you have or haven't seen it. Anders's screenwriter work can also be seen in the western The Outlaws which is a available to watch in the US, Finland & the UK on Amazon and Apple TV for example. You can read a review about the film on Collider. Also check out Anders's reviews on Robert Eggers's Nosferatu, Die Hard 4.0 and The Crow (2024).Follow us on our Instagram page. Happy New Years Eve from all of us at the Sean Spicer Show! With so many wonderful changes to look forward to with the incoming Trump administration, one of the most important issues is securing our border. Well, there is literally no better man for the job than Tom Homan and today he is on the show to tell us exactly what he plans to do! Tom Homan is the former director of ICE and incoming border czar, he has a comprehensive approach to solving our immigration problem that he is ready to execute on day one. Tom will neutralize any and all threats to public safety, find the 300,000 missing children under the Biden administration, re-implement the "remain in Mexico" policy and continue construction on the border wall. The Biden administration has been quietly selling the unused border wall materials for pennies on the dollar, hoping no one would notice. There are about 10 different agencies that interact with the border and as the border czar Tom will be able to funnel all these agencies so they work together and communicate effectively as he works hand and hand with President Trump. We have been paying the price with an open border, abhorrent crime, drug & human trafficking, compromised national security, and the lives of the innocent, like Laken Riley. Tom Homan is ready to put an end to it all. The Biden administration has wreaked havoc on America's fighting forces. It began early on when Biden took office, he sowed division and doubt amongst young men and women with a proclivity to join the military. Recruitment for young white males is by far the worst, fear of being labelled a "racist" or "extremist" has created the lowest recruitment since the all volunteer force. Along with DEI policies, this one-two punch has led to an American fighting force that is short two whole divisions. The withdrawal of Afghanistan was as embarrassing as the White House being burned down in 1812 and General Milley and McKenzie, in charge of this massive failure, have not been held accountable for their mistakes. Along with the overwhelming recruiting problem is the actual condition of our equipment, most Navy ships are old, leaking and filled with rust. Should an actual conflict arise, our military could run out of ammo in two weeks. This conversation fully explores where our military stands and what needs to be done under the Trump administration to get us back on track! John's book The Biden-Harris Betrayal: Weak and Woke on the World Stage is a must-read to understanding the failures that led Biden-Harris to t lowest approval rating of all time. L. Russell Brown writes hit songs. He is one of the greatest songwriters of the rock era. His catalogue includes two massive hits for Tony Orlando and Dawn - “Tie A Yellow Ribbon” and “Knock Three Times”. “Yellow Ribbon” is one of the most recorded songs of all time and has taken on another life as a song of hope for returning veterans and others. He also wrote “C'mon Marianne” for The Four Seasons, “Sock It To Me Baby” for Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, and many others. His songs have been recorded by Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Lesley Gore, Johnny Mathis and Donny Osmond. And at 83 he's got a hit record on the charts with “Every Chance I Get I Want You In The Flesh” by Dan Auerbach. My featured song is “Right Now”. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the 1600 block of Pirkle Road in unincorporated Norcross. Officers were dispatched in response to reports of firearm discharges and found the body of a man between the 1700 building of Pirkle Road and another building on Hampton Ridge Road. It is believed that at least two individuals were involved in the exchange of gunfire before 911 calls were made. The game was intense, with Mill Creek leading 31-24 in the final seconds, and Buford on a potential game-tying drive. However, ESPN abruptly switched its broadcast to the start of an NBA preseason game between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers, leaving viewers unable to witness the game's conclusion. Fans, both locally and nationwide, expressed their frustration on social media, with many criticizing ESPN for the decision. In response to the backlash, ESPN issued an apology and plans to re-air the game on ESPNU. STORY 3: Gwinnett County Public Schools Saw Graduation Rate Decline This Year Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) had a graduation rate of 81.9% in 2023, down from 83.2% in 2022, signaling a decline in on-time high school graduation. Five high schools reported their best graduation rates in the past five years, while 12 schools saw their rates increase. Nine schools achieved graduation rates exceeding 90%. Despite these positive results, the districtwide graduation rate remains below the statewide rate of 84.4%. GCPS officials attribute the decline to attendance issues, with rising chronic absenteeism leading to fewer students graduating on time. Superintendent Calvin Watts is actively working on initiatives to improve graduation rates, including communicating with students and families about expectations and providing necessary support. Following that, Bad Romance, Atlanta's premier tribute band, will celebrate Lady Gaga's electrifying energy on November 4. The show will feature her biggest hits with choreography, costumes, and stunning effects. Both concerts are sponsored by Herndon Family Law and presented by Explore Gwinnett Tourism & Film and Garrard Construction Group. For ticket information, visit aurora theatre dot com. STORY 5: Suniva to restart solar cell plant in Gwinnett County Suniva, a U.S. solar cell manufacturer that filed for bankruptcy six years ago due to competition from cheap Asian solar panels, is restarting its manufacturing plant in Norcross, Georgia. The company secured a $110 million commitment from Orion Infrastructure Capital (OIC) to finance plant upgrades and expansion. The first phase will generate up to 240 jobs and increase manufacturing capacity to 1 gigawatt. This will support around 750,000 homes. The expansion will begin production by spring and include a second phase to reach 2.5 gigawatts. The move was made possible by new federal tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act passed by Congress last year, signaling a boost for American solar manufacturing and job creation. We'll be back in a moment Break 3: JACKSON EMC – INGLES 3 – LAWRENCVILLE EVENTS (BOO FEST & HARVEST FEST) STORY 6: Gwinnett Technical College Earns National Recognition for Veterans Services Gwinnett Technical College has received recognition as one of the nation's best institutions for veterans' services, earning fifth place among large community colleges in the "Military Times Best: Colleges 2023-2024 rankings" by Military Friendly magazine. The college provides a range of support services, including veterans educational benefits support, the Yellow Ribbon program, scholarships, a dedicated computer lab, a student veterans organization, career counseling, a laptop lending program, and more. Gwinnett Tech aims to help veterans transition from military to civilian life and build rewarding careers. The rankings were determined through a comprehensive assessment of various factors and input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council. STORY 7: FOOTBALL UPDATE In Gwinnett County football, Quinton Slaughter broke the single-game rushing record with 389 yards for Providence Christian, leading his team to a 55-35 win over Union County. In a nationally ranked matchup, No. 2 Mill Creek defeated No. 1 Buford 31-24, likely reclaiming the top ranking. Peachtree Ridge secured a 27-17 victory over North Gwinnett, ending a rivalry drought since 2016. Archer pulled off a stunning 28-27 win over No. 7 Parkview in a thrilling game. In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing my friend and fellow Yellow Ribbon speaker, Sporty King. Sporty and I have been working together since 2011 and enjoying every minute of it. He shares an acronym that Sporty calls an "act-ronym" for the word Life, that begins the title of my podcast. We spent the majority of the time talking about how important listening is to relationships. I have been known to call it listening for understanding, while Sporty calls it listening for the period. He also speaks of an internal conflict he had working for the military without ever serving in the Armed Forces and how he resolved that conflict. Finally, Sporty shares a choice he made that had a significant, positive impact on his life. If you'd like to reach out to Sporty, you can do so through his website at www.SportyKing.com.

Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Tony Orlando, Superstar Recording Artist and Entertainer About Harvey's guest: Today's special guest, Tony Orlando, is one of America's most beloved singers, who's been entertaining us for the past 6 decades – starting as a 15 year old member of the doo-wop group “The Five Gents”, then as a teenage heartthrob solo artist with his hits “Halfway to Paradise” and “Bless You”. And then, after spending several years as a successful producer, record company and music publishing executive, he quite accidentally returned to singing, and unexpectedly went to #1 on the charts, which led him to create the phenomenally successful group, “Tony Orlando and Dawn”. They released 20 Top 40 singles including “Candida”, “Knock 3 Times”, “Vaya Con Dios”, “Say Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose”, “He Don't Love You Like I Love You”, “Cupid”, “Midnight Love Affair”, and everybody's favourite, “Tie a Yellow Ribbon ‘Round the Ole Oak Tree”. That song spent over a month in the #1 spot on the pop music charts and is one of the most recorded songs in history, with over 1,000 cover versions. The song won a Grammy Award in 1974 and was named song of the year at the American Music Awards. In fact, in 2018, Billboard Magazine ranked “Tie a Yellow Ribbon” at #46 on its list of top 100 songs of all time. Our guest, along with his wonderfully talented singing partners Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson, hosted their own TV prime time variety show, “The Tony Orlando and Dawn” show, which ran for 4 seasons. SInce 1977, our guest resumed his solo career, starring in TV movies including “300 Miles for Stephanie” and “The Rosemary Clooney Story”, in which he portrayed Rosemary Clooney's husband, José Ferrer. He also did a highly successful “Tony Orlando and Dawn” reunion tour. He starred on Broadway twice, in “Barnum”, and “Smokey Joe's Café”. And he continues to headline in Las Vegas, Branson Missouri, and touring all over the country. In 2002 he wrote a highly compelling, brutally honest and deeply poignant, intimate memoir entitled, “Halfway to Paradise”, which is truly one of the most memorable celebrity memoirs I've ever read. He has won the Casino Entertainer of the Year Award, the Best Las Vegas All Around Entertainer Award 4 times, and, prior to that, 3 times in Atlantic City. He's won the Jukebox Artist of the Year Award, The Ellis Island Medal of Honor, and he received The Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, acknowledging his efforts on behalf of United States veterans. And, in 1990, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
