Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. Last week, mere minutes after our Tuesday evening recording session, we were both delighted and disheartened when Marvel Studios dropped its “Look Ahead | Disney Plus'' trailer, which not only provided release dates, but showcased our first official look at footage, for a whopping 8 streaming projects. Here's what we learned: Box office juggernaut Deadpool & Wolverine will be available to stream on the platform beginning November 12, 2024. We already knew Daredevil: Born Again is set to begin streaming March 4, 2025, but the trailer, which was intercut with footage from the other shows, gave us our first look at the villain Muse, the return of Jon Bernthal's Punisher, as well as Bullseye, and perhaps most surprisingly the inclusion of Ms. Marvel's dad, Yusuf Khan What If Season 3 will begin streaming this December 22nd, with no word as to whether that will be a weekly or daily release, like last year. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will begin airing January 29th, 2025 Riri William's Ironheart makes her return beginning June 24th, 2025 Eyes of Wakanda, the animated anthology series is set for an August 6th, 2025 debut Marvel Zombies will premiere sometime in October 2025, with the live action Wonder Man series starring Yahya Abdul Mateen II arriving later that December. In a final marketing push ahead of its December 3 premiere, Lucasfilm released final art, a poster, and a new trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The series, which is helmed by Spider-Man filmmaker Jon Watts, is an Amblin Entertainment-inspired coming of age tale that follows four youths who embark on a swashbuckling adventure with unexpected revelations. The trailer is in keeping with what we've seen from the series thus far, which is to say it feels tonally divergent from anything we've seen in Star Wars before, including new species, planets, and a synth-pop heavy score. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros is gearing up to bring the world of George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones to the silver screen with at least one film in early development. And that's pretty much all we know – there's no creative talent attached yet, meaning no writer or director, much less any word regarding a potential time, setting, or characters that might be involved. Amazon MGM Studios is testing actors for the role of Lara Croft in Phoebe Waller-Bridge's upcoming Tomb Raider series. Sophie Turner and Lucy Boynton top Amazon's wish list, according to Deadline. Scary Movie creators Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans are reuniting after 18 years to develop a new film in the franchise for Paramount and Miramax. Kelly Macdonald, known for Boardwalk Empire and No Country for Old Men, has joined the cast of DC Studios' Lanterns. Amazon MGM Studios is developing a Jack Ryan film, continuing the series storyline with John Krasinski, Wendell Pierce, and Michael Kelly. Andrew Bernstein will direct. Early box office projections show Wicked opening at over $80 million domestically and Gladiator 2 at $65 million, both debuting on November 22. Universal Pictures and LEGO have partnered to develop three live-action LEGO films, directed by Jake Kasdan, Patty Jenkins, and Joe Cornish. Toho has officially greenlit a new Godzilla movie from the director of last year's Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One. Amazon MGM Studios has acquired American Speed, starring Tom Holland and Austin Butler as the scandal-ridden Whittington Brothers, with Oscar-winning producer Charles Roven attached. Ridley Scott revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he's working on a new Alien movie for 20th Century Studios, though it's unclear if it's connected to the Alien: Romulus follow-up or a standalone project. Tom Cruise is in early talks with Paramount for a Days of Thunder sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In this enlightening episode of 'The Rational Egoist', host Michael Liebowitz engages in a thought-provoking conversation with renowned author Andrew Bernstein about his latest book, "American Racism: Its Decline, Its Baleful Resurgence, and Our Looming Race War. Bernstein's book delves into the intricate dynamics of racism in America, tracing its historical decline and alarming resurgence. The discussion pivots around the core tenet of individualism, a perspective that emphasizes the reality and significance of individuality, advocating for each person's inalienable rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of personal happiness. This framework provides a unique lens to understand and critique racial dynamics. Key to Bernstein's argument is the notion that while racial differences exist, they are minor variations in the grand tapestry of humanity, akin to differences in hair or eye colour. The episode explores this concept in depth, discussing how these differences should not overshadow the essence of individual moral choices. Liebowitz and Bernstein dissect the critical idea that individuals ought to be judged based on their moral choices rather than the circumstances of their birth, including their racial or ethnic backgrounds. This conversation promises to challenge prevailing notions, inviting listeners to reconsider their perspectives on race, individualism, and moral judgment in the context of contemporary American society. Tune in to this episode of 'The Rational Egoist' for a deep dive into the nuances of racism and individualism, as Bernstein's insightful analysis and Liebowitz's probing questions illuminate the path towards a more rational and just understanding of these perennial issues. Join us as we dive deep into the intricate world of philosophy. In this episode, Professor Andrew Bernstein returns to continue their exploration of the heroes and villains of philosophy, focusing on the controversial figures of Hegel, Marx, and the rise of postmodernism. Professor Bernstein, a distinguished Objectivist philosopher and author of acclaimed works like "Heroes, Legends, and Champions" and "The Capitalist Manifesto," offers his profound insights on these influential thinkers. The discussion begins with Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, a philosopher whose complex ideas have left an enduring impact. The conversation then turns to Karl Marx, whose ideas have reverberated throughout history. Marx's deterministic universe, denial of morality, and concept of exploitation come under the microscope. The episode also delves into the divide created by Marx between workers and entrepreneurs, which ultimately led to the forceful implementation of communism. Professor Bernstein explains the economic consequences of communism and its detrimental impact on wealth creation. Transitioning to the realm of postmodernism, the discussion explores how this ideology, often described as Marxism on steroids, has permeated modern culture. The concept of subjective truth and the rise of "woke" culture are examined in detail. In a world where truth has become subjective and malleable, Professor Bernstein emphasises the importance of objective truth, a concept championed by the heroic Ayn Rand. Exploring Rationality and Heroism: Conversations with Professor Andrew Bernstein In this episode Michael Leibowitz is joined by Professor Andrew Bernstein, a prominent Objectivist philosopher with a rich background in philosophy. Together, they embark on a profound exploration of the heroes and villains of philosophy, delving into the ideas that have shaped human thought and societies. Professor Bernstein, who holds a PhD in philosophy from The City University of New York and has a wealth of teaching experience, engages in a thought-provoking conversation with Michael. The discussion centres around the rationalist perspectives of John Locke, a distinguished 16th century English philosopher. Locke's powerful critique of Descartes' arguments on innate knowledge reverberates through history, emphasising the role of reason and logic in arriving at conclusions. The essence of Locke's philosophy lies in his definition of inalienable rights encompassing life, liberty, and property. These foundational principles, eloquently articulated by Locke, served as the bedrock for the formation of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Professor Bernstein passionately connects Locke's ideas to the shaping of American governance and underscores the essential role of government in safeguarding individual rights against both external threats and the encroachment of totalitarianism. As we unravel the intricate tapestry of philosophical thought, Professor Bernstein recommends two impactful books that enrich our understanding of these concepts:"America's Revolutionary Mind" by Brad Thompson - A compelling exploration of revolutionary ideas that have shaped the nation. After years of beatdowns by the Detroit Pistons Bad Boys, Michael Jordan finally won his first NBA title in 1992. Amidst the commotion in the Bulls' locker room - champagne spraying, players and coaches yelling, media swarming - everyone wanted to get a defining image of MJ's triumph, but the Finals MVP was nowhere to be seen. Lakers team photographer and co-creator of NBA Photos Andrew Bernstein was the one who snapped the definitive shot of Jordan crying with the trophy, his father James at his son's side. Such photographic glory was no such thing when a 20-year-old Andrew left UMass at Amherst and headed west to study in the City of Angels. He soon got a gig assisting veteran photogs for Sports Illustrated, and then managed to talk his way into photographing the 1983 All-Star Game for the League on his own, long before photographers had assistants and technicians to help them. He proved his talent and tenacity in the Forum that weekend, and was soon the official lensman for the Lakers, documenting their wins and losses against Larry Bird's Celtics, the Shaq-Kobe-Phil Jackson three-peat, and the two titles Kobe won with Pau Gasol. In this episode, Andrew shares:How he talked his way into the 1983 All-Star Game assignment What role confidence and New Jersey moxie played as he built an unsurpassed portfolio and started NBA Photos in a filing cabinet in his small apartment What he did to make Magic Johnson reprimand him on a Converse commercial setHow he got into Pat Riley's huddle to shoot the Showtime Lakers during timeoutsWhy a shot of Michael Jordan and another of Kobe are his favorites among thousands of photosLearn more about Andrew's fantastic photography on his Instagram feed and listen to his insightful interviews as host of the Legends of Sport podcast.
