You may have heard Nick Cody across the airwaves on the Fox, seen him on The Project, and caught him at any of his shows... But only now does he understand why he would get called Marty McFly when sporting a certain jacket. Only 40 years after its release, he finally watches Back to the Future. Pete and Nick are also joined by Zoe Coombs Marr and Charlie Pickering. Zoe Coombs-Marr is one of Australia's most adored comedians, but before she was as comedian, she was the world's worst barista, a bar wench at a 24 hour bar, and an actor. Her time in the pub had her cleaning more vomit than humanly possible, and her time as an actor provided us with a story that had us almost vomiting. Yes, this story was all levels of cringe, and we loved it so much. This was a really fun to record, and we hope you love it! Enjoy this episode of ‘Work Hates'! Hosted on Acast. Zoë Coombs Marr has been making us laugh for years. You might have seen her doing award winning stand up comedy, often doing meta shows that twist our brains. Maybe you caught her alter ego Dave, or have seen Zoë pop up on The Weekly, The Project and watched her brilliant 3 part series Queerstralia.Zoë is one of my favourite creators; she always keeps me guessing with what she'll do next, and she always does it differently to everyone else. Her 2024 comedy show seems to be her most personal to date, cos it's her story. “Every Single Thing In My Whole Entire Life” will see her dig through it all, on stage across Australia. It's an idea that lends itself well to a soundtrack, which is why I asked her to Take 5. From Elaine Stritch to Yothu Yindi to Romy, this is a funny and glorious conversation about life itself.Yothu Yindi - Treaty Elaine Stritch - Are You Having Any Fun The Lemonheads - The Outdoor Type Hot Chip - Bath Full of EcstasyRomy - Enjoy Your Life
As we do every year, the rules change for the final episode of the season. Now it is a competition and scores are very much kept (poorly)The same core group has returned, Kate Jinx and Zoe Coombs Marr on one team and Dave Lawson is joined this time by Ryan Shelton stepping in for Sarah Snook. There are forty questions to get through, so settle in and enjoy the chaos. Thanks to everyone who has tuned in all year. And thanks to Cindy MacDonald for writing the questionsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-saturday-quiz. Clare and Yves are joined by Zoe Coombs Marr, comedian, actor and creator of the ABC TV history documentary Queerstralia (2023). How does foraging and research shape the process of making comedy? What are queer temporalities and why was Queerstralia made as a looping metanarrative? What does it look like inside Zoe's brain? Plus: a cameo appearance from Zelda the cavoodle, and Zoe reveals all about her street vomit archive.

This week Ben and Bev discuss the #WrongAsianing of Labor candidate for Reid, Sally Sitou, why these incidents cut deep and wonder why apologies can be so hard to come by when they happen. We shove Whovians Rhianna Patrick and Ahmed Yussuf into a Tardis for their take on the news that Sex Education's super charismatic Ncuti Gatwa will be Dr Who's 14th Time Lord.
