Do you ever find yourself staying in a relationship, a business partnership, a volunteer gig, or even a local group long after it has stopped lighting you up? Often, we praise traits like loyalty, resilience, and grit. But there is a profound, quiet wisdom in recognizing when something is complete. In this episode, we explore what it looks like to leave a situation cleanly, without guilt, without overexplaining, and most importantly, without abandoning yourself in the process Many of us were taught to equate the discomfort of leaving with doing something wrong. We convince ourselves that if we just try harder, give more, or endure a little longer, things will change. But true alignment requires discernment over avoidance. It means recognizing the subtle Somatic Markers your body uses to signal misalignment, like a tight stomach or a sudden drop in energy, long before your logical brain is willing to admit it. We dive deep into: *- Staying Out of Obligation: How to identify the hidden guilt, pedestals, and old patterns that keep you anchored to spaces you've already outgrown. The Myth of the Invitation: Understanding that an invitation is an opportunity, not a lifetime debt or an emotional obligation to manage someone else's feelings. *- Signs of Completion: Practical self-inquiry to help you distinguish between a temporary rough patch and a chapter that has truly run its course. Leaving Relationships with Love: How to exit with absolute clarity and kindness, allowing others to have their own reactions without defending your decision past the point of truth. You can be deeply grateful for where you've been and still choose to walk away. You can love a person, respect an organization, or appreciate a past opportunity while clearly seeing that it no longer matches your current frequency. If you are ready to reclaim your time, honor your energy, and stop sacrificing your peace for the sake of history, tune in to this episode. Let's look at how you can put down the weight of what no longer serves you, bless the space, and step into what is next. --- Living in Clarity waitlist is up now! In this episode of 'Pearls of Wisdom', we explore the four survival archetypes that unconsciously shape our behaviours, relationships, choices, and sense of self. These archetypes often operate beneath the surface, influencing how we protect ourselves, where we give our power away, and the patterns that keep us stuck. But when brought into awareness, they can become profound gateways for healing, empowerment, and transformation. We look into:The Wounded Child, and the journey back to the Magical Innocent The Victim, transforming helplessness into responsibility and personal powerThe Prostitute, uncovering where we sell ourselves out and reclaiming self-worth The Saboteur, shifting destructive patterns into conscious creativityThis episode invites self-inquiry and inner work. Where are these archetypes showing up in your life? What subconscious patterns are asking to be seen, healed, and transformed?By bringing light to the shadow, we begin turning our greatest inner obstacles into our strongest allies. The book I couldn't remember is 'Homecoming' by John Bradshaw.

You don't have to feel fearless to move forward. In this episode of Intuition: Your Joy Compass, I share a very real (and slightly hilarious) moment from a walk along the cliffs in Rhode Island, where my brain decided a 12-inch drop was basically the end of my life. Spoiler: I survived… with a little creativity, a lot of self-talk, and yes, a very humbling "sit and scoot" moment. This conversation is about what actually happens when fear takes over, how the brain exaggerates risk, how the inner critic shuts things down, and why waiting to feel confident is not the path forward. Instead, we explore what it looks like to build self-trust in action: setting realistic expectations, removing pressure, and finding your own way through, no matter how unconventional it looks. I also share how small shifts in language ("I'll try" vs. "I can't") can open doors, and how progress over perfection is what creates real confidence, not forcing yourself to be fearless. If you've been holding back, overthinking, or saying no before you even give yourself a chance, this episode is your invitation to take one step forward… even if you do it scared.

Feeling like an imposter does not mean you are unqualified. It means you are stepping into a bigger room. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down how to turn imposter syndrome into fuel instead of letting it sabotage your next level. Let's be real… The moment you step into bigger opportunities… Bigger deals… Bigger rooms… Bigger responsibilities… Your brain is going to start questioning if you really belong there. But that fear is not proof that you are a fraud. It is proof that you are growing. In this episode, you'll learn: Why imposter syndrome often shows up right before a breakthrough How to separate your emotions from your actual track record Why discomfort is a sign that you are playing a bigger game How to use pressure as fuel for preparation, humility, and execution The truth is simple: If you feel completely comfortable, you are probably playing too small. The people who win at the highest level are not fearless. They feel the doubt… They feel the pressure… They feel the uncertainty… And they execute anyway. Because courage is not the absence of fear. It is doing the work while fear is sitting right next to you. Stop apologizing for being in the room. Take the seat. Do the work. And prove that you belong there. Your Network is your NETWORTH! Somewhere along the way, most of us got completely bamboozled about what doing “great work” actually means. It became about titles, applause, LinkedIn optics, and chasing gold stars from people who don't even know us. Meanwhile, the work that actually lights us up? The stuff that feels like us? Yeah… that got buried under obligation, expectation, and a never-ending to-do list. In this episode, Nicole sits down with Dr. Amanda Crowell — cognitive psychologist, TEDx speaker, and author of Great Work — to unpack why so many women are stuck doing work that looks good on paper but feels like absolute garbage in real life… and how to get back to work that actually matters. We get into: What “great work” actually means (hint: it has NOTHING to do with external validation) How to identify the difference between true desire vs. insecurity-driven comparison Why your biggest clues might come from… jealousy  The concept of identity saboteurs — and how they keep you playing small Why women especially struggle with choosing themselves (hello, conditioning) Why your great work doesn't have to be big, public, or profitable to matter And how to finally stop waiting for the “right time” and start doing the damn thing Because here's the truth: The only way to know if it's your great work… is to actually do it.

You're not the emotional shock absorber, and you were never meant to be. In this episode of Intuition: Your Joy Compass, I share a raw, unfiltered realization that stopped me in my tracks: how much of my life I've spent doing an invisible job no one asked me to take on, managing other people's emotions, smoothing chaos, and holding everything together at my own expense. We talk about how these people-pleasing patterns often start early, how the inner critic keeps you locked into being "the one who can handle it," and why that role, while admirable, can quietly drain your energy, your authenticity, and your peace. I walk you through what it looks like to step out of that role without blowing up your life, how to set real boundaries, stop carrying emotional labor that isn't yours, and allow others to experience the consequences that actually create change. This isn't about becoming cold or disconnected. It's about finally becoming honest with yourself. If you've been the go-to, the fixer, the steady one… and you're tired, this episode will hit home.

Why ageism is the last socially acceptable bias in the modern workplace. Why seventy-eight percent of American workers between 40 and 65 have personally experienced or witnessed it. Why the EEOC's 2026 docket is full of cases nobody read about — Wendy's, Builders FirstSource, South Valley Care Center, J&M Industries. Why ageism runs in every direction — against the young, the middle, and the experienced — and why the form your inclusive colleagues commit most often is the one they cannot see. And why the silent saboteur stays silent only as long as you refuse to name it. The cost is rising. Five Shades of Grey is a five-part limited series.

In World War II the entirety of France was occupied by the Nazi's. The Saboteur, instead of looking at that time period through the lense of the Allied Expeditionary Force, looks at it through the eyes of the people who lived it. I'm joined by friend of the show Matt Storm to chat about the 2009 open world game The Saboteur. A game where you take control of the character Sean Devlin, an Irish race car driver and mechanic, as he exacts his revenge on the fascists that killed his best friend. What starts out as a simple revenge mission turns into something much larger as he fights to free Paris from the Nazis. Matt and I ADORED this game and we had a lot of fun chatting about what makes it so great. We also chat about why it seems to be so overlooked and why that may have been. Clarity doesn't need a performance. In this episode of Intuition: Your Joy Compass, I talk about something subtle but exhausting: performative clarity. That version of "being clear" where you're actually managing how you're perceived—over-explaining, over-preparing, overthinking, and checking if everything you say sounds wise, grounded, and "right." I know it well. I lived there for years. We'll explore how the inner critic fuels these overthinking patterns and keeps you seeking approval instead of trusting yourself. And more importantly, what real clarity feels like: quieter, steadier, and a whole lot less dramatic. It's deciding and letting it be done. It's saying less, listening more, and moving forward without needing everyone to agree. I share personal examples (including navigating relationships where not everyone "gets" you) and a simple but powerful practice you can use this week: Am I about to explain… or am I about to act? If you're ready to drop the performance, build real self-trust, and move through decisions without the mental noise, this episode will meet you right where you are.

What if success isn't the problem… but what you believe it will cost you is?  In this episode of Intuition: Your Joy Compass, I'm calling out something I see all the time with brilliant women in business: the quiet fear of success. Not failure, success. Because somewhere along the way, we learned that more success means more pressure, less freedom, and losing ourselves in the process.  I'll get into how that belief shapes your nervous system, your decisions, and your ability to grow. I share how redefining success on my terms allowed me to have my best financial year without sacrificing joy, rest, relationships, or my sanity. We also talk about the inner critic that keeps you over-caretaking, overworking, and staying "busy" instead of aligned.  You'll hear real examples of how small shifts, like setting clear boundaries, using simple PQ reps, and building supportive structure, can move you from burnout-driven effort to sustainable success that actually feels good.  If you've been holding back, overthinking, or quietly resisting your next level, this episode will help you see why and what to do instead.  Listen or watch this episode to explore a new Success Mindset, create Sustainable Success, and move through the Fear of Success with clarity and self-trust.  If you're ready for deeper support, Living in Clarity begins April 22. It's designed to help you align your brain and your intuition so success doesn't cost you your life, it supports it.   Learn more at vickibaird.com  --- Living in Clarity is open now! Join Dan and Tom for this episode, SABOTEUR - Decoded - Hitchcock's 1942 Spy Thriller. This deep dive into SABOTEUR, Alfred Hitchcock's wartime suspense classic, explores how this 1942 thriller still feels urgent and relevant. We examine its story, theme, and cinematic technique. And we look at its importance in the Hitchcock catalog. SABOTEUR - Synopsis Released during World War II, the movie reflects national anxiety and hidden threats. Hitchcock transforms ordinary American spaces into zones of fear and mistrust. Factories, highways, and landmarks become settings for danger and deception. The story follows an innocent man accused of sabotage. Once again, Hitchcock throws a regular person into a spy story. He is forced into a race against time. Every encounter raises questions about loyalty and identity. This is a recurring theme for Hitchcock. Each of these movies builds on the last: where trust becomes dangerous, and appearances cannot be believed. Episode Goals To enhance your viewing experience: We break down Hitchcock's use of visual suspense. How shadow, scale, and movement drive the tension. The camera often places the viewer in uncomfortable proximity to danger. One of Hitchcock's most famous scenes, the Statue of Liberty sequence, receives special attention. The statue stands as a powerful symbol of freedom under threat. Hear how Hitchcock used it. This episode also explores the birth of spy-thriller conventions. SABOTEUR predates James Bond yet anticipates many genre elements. ·       False identities shape the narrative. ·       Conspiracies hide behind respectable faces. ·       The lone hero is isolated and hunted. Historical context adds another layer of meaning. For the first time in a Hitchcock movie, American audiences begin to fear sabotage on home soil. Hitchcock embraced those fears rather than softening them. The result is patriotic but unsettling cinema. We also discuss why SABOTEUR still resonates today. ·       Themes of misinformation feel strikingly modern. ·       The audience is warned how easily truth can be manipulated. ·       Its message remains relevant in a surveillance-heavy world. This episode is ideal for classic film fans and spy-thriller lovers. It offers insight, history, and sharp analysis. It proves Hitchcock's suspense endures. Episode Highlights Hitchcock's wartime suspense techniques Early foundations of the spy-thriller genre Symbolic use of American landmarks Themes of identity and false accusation Why SABOTEUR still matters today   Tell us what you think about our episode SABOTEUR - Decoded - Hitchcock's 1942 Spy Thriller Have you seen this movie yet?  If not, did listening to this episode make you want to watch it?  If you have seen it, where do Dan and Tom get it right, and where do they get it wrong? Orbited brings together the 2025 20 Under 35 cohort and the Space & Satellite Hall of Fame Class of 2026, where one industry legend takes the center and the next generation rotates through with questions designed to draw insight from experience. The clock is running. The buzzer is real. And every participant gets their moment in the orbit. In this debut session, Steve Hart, whose work over four decades helped shape military satellite security, IP-based commercial networking, and the ground network algorithms behind high-capacity satellite systems, faces off with a cohort that arrives with serious questions. They want to know about sunk costs and when to let go of good work. They ask about cybersecurity threats then and now, about navigating defense acquisition culture, about how you build a company that stays innovative when the billionaires move in. And they close with something bigger: whether multilateralism in space can survive a world that keeps pulling toward sovereignty and silos. Hart doesn't hedge. He talks about his time as what he calls "Chief Saboteur" and what it takes to break things on purpose when stagnation sets in. These conversations are part of SSPI's Space and Satellite Futures mission, cultivating and recognizing the talent that keeps our industry moving forward.

Darth Maul was never meant to be a true Sith and the Legends novels make that case with devastating clarity. Matthew is joined by Jonah Kellman, host of the Legends novel podcast The Archives Are Incomplete and director of the Judge Program for Star Wars: Unlimited, for a deep dive into the pre-Disney expanded universe books about Maul: Shadow Hunter, Lockdown, Saboteur, and the sweeping Darth Plagueis.Together they build a portrait of Maul as a deliberately broken weapon, a child raised in isolation, and psychologically destroyed by Sidious to ensure he could never pose a real threat. Jonah traces Maul's underworld connections across multiple Legends texts, showing how his return to the criminal fringes of the galaxy after The Phantom Menace is less a plot convenience and more an inevitability. They draw out the sharpest contrast in the canon: Darth Maul versus Darth Tyranus, brute force versus political cunning, down to the meaning of their names and the mechanics of their fighting styles. This episode is essential listening before Maul: Shadow Lord — a primer on who this character was before he became the man rebuilding himself outside the Sith.About Jonah KellmanJonah Kellman is the host of The Archives Are Incomplete, a podcast dedicated to the Star Wars Legends novel canon — currently on hiatus, but still findable online. Hey daar lieve luisteraar Lou hier. You can have it all, if you can hold it all. Echo en al. En verder in deze uitzending een oefening om je neuropaden letterlijk te helpen versterken. Tot volgende week, Alle liefs Lou a.k.a ESB

Power doesn't come from pushing harder. It comes from getting quieter.  In this episode of Intuition: Your Joy Compass, I challenge the idea that urgency equals productivity. So much of what we hear in business culture says you have to hustle, push, and stay in constant motion to succeed. But in my experience as a coach, and in my own life, that kind of pressure often disconnects us from our intuition, our clarity, and our real authority.  I share how slowing down has actually led to better decisions, better outcomes, and surprisingly, my most successful year in business. From waiting for the right bonded pair of rescue cats to appear, to releasing pressure around revenue goals and working fewer client hours, these choices created more alignment, not less success.  We'll talk about how pushing the nervous system leads to resistance, burnout, and "saboteur" reactions, and how calm leadership, both with ourselves and with others, creates stability and trust. I also introduce simple Positive Intelligence practices, like sensory grounding "PQ reps," that help interrupt stress patterns and bring the brain back to clarity and innovation.  If you've been told you need to hustle harder, this episode offers a different perspective: sometimes the most powerful move is to pause, regulate your nervous system, and lead from calm.

Renaissance history is so much wilder and weirder than you would have expected. Very fun chatting with Ada Palmer (historian, novelist, and composer based at the University of Chicago). Some especially fascinating things I learned from the conversation and her excellent book, Inventing the Renaissance:Not only did Gutenberg go bankrupt in the 1450s (after inventing the printing press), but so did the bank that foreclosed on him, and so did his apprentices. This is because paper was still very expensive, and so you had to make this big upfront CAPEX decision to print a batch of 300 copies of a book - say the Bible. But he's in a small landlocked German town where only priests are allowed to read the Bible - so he sells maybe 7 copies. It's only when this technology ends up in Venice, where you can hand 10 copies to each of 30 ship captains going to 30 different cities, that it starts taking off.Speaking of which, the printing revolution wasn't just one single discrete event, just as the computer revolution has been this whole century of going from mainframes -> personal computers -> phones -> social media, each with different and accelerating social impact. Books came first, but they're slow to print, and made in small batches. The real revolution is pamphlets - much faster, much harder to censor. Pamphlet runners are how you can have Luther's 95 Theses go from Wittenberg to London in 17 days.So much other wild stuff from this episode. For example, did you know that the largest and best-funded experimental laboratory in 17th century Europe was very likely the Roman one run by inquisitors? Ada jokes that the Inquisition accidentally invented peer review. The focus of the Inquisition is really misunderstood - it was obsessed with catching dangerous new heretics like Lutherans and Calvinists - it only executed one person for doing science. And this leads Ada to make an observation that I think is really wise: the authorities and censors are always worried about the exact wrong things given 20/20 hindsight. When Inquisition raids an underground bookshop during the French Enlightenment, they don't mind the Rousseau, Voltaire, and Encyclopédie, but they lose their minds about some Jansenist treatises about the technical nature of the Trinity.More broadly, a lesson for me from this episode is that it's just really hard to shape history in the specific way that you want to impact things. One of the most famous medieval scholars is this guy Petrarch. He survives the Black Death in the 1340s, watches his friends die to plague and bandits, and says: our leaders are selfish and terrible, we need to raise them on the Roman classics so they'll act like Cicero. So Europe pours money into finding ancient manuscripts, building libraries, and educating princes on classical virtues. Those princes grow up and fight bigger, nastier wars than ever before with new deadlier technology. And this, combined with greater urbanization and endemic plague, results in European life expectancy decreasing from 35 in the medieval period to 18 during the Renaissance (the period which we in retrospect think of as a golden age but which many people living through it thought of as the continuation of the dark ages that had persisted since the fall of Rome).Anyways, the libraries Petrarch inspires stick around, the printing press makes them accessible to everyone, and 200 years later a generation of medical students is reading Lucretius and asking “what if there are atoms and that's how diseases work?” which eventually leads to germ theory, vaccines, and a cure for the Black Death (Ada has longer more involved explanation of how cosplaying the Romans results through a series of many steps to the scientific revolution). Petrarch wanted to produce philosopher-kings that shared his values. Instead he created a world that doesn't share his values at all but can cure the disease that destroyed his.Watch on YouTube; read the transcript.Sponsors* Jane Street is still waiting on someone to solve their backdoor puzzle… They're accepting submissions until April 1st and have set aside $50,000 for the best attempts. Consistency shouldn't feel like punishment.  In this episode of Intuition: Your Joy Compass, I get honest about something that triggers a lot of inner critic noise: consistency. For many smart, capable women, the word alone feels like bootcamp. Pressure. Self-betrayal. Burnout waiting to happen. And I understand why.  I share how my nervous system still remembers a season of overworking, overproving, and overriding my body. So when I hear "just be consistent," there's resistance. Not laziness. Protection. We talk about how inconsistency is often a defense mechanism, not a character flaw, and why calling yourself lazy is usually your inner judge trying to keep you safe.  In this conversation, I reframe consistency as sustainable rhythm, something that feels like a dance, not a demand. We explore how small, repeatable steps build self-trust far better than pressure ever could, and why nervous system regulation matters more than motivation. I share practical tools, personal stories (half marathons, needle felting, and calendar boundaries included), and how to stop before consistency turns into self-punishment.  If you've ever started strong, burned out, and then blamed yourself… this episode is for you.  Listen in to learn how to build Consistency that supports joy, regulate your Nervous System instead of overriding it, and create a Sustainable Rhythm that actually lasts.  And if you're ready for deeper support, Living in Clarity begins March 17th. So many of us think we're following our desires - but what we're often following… is fantasy or someone else's idea of what our life "should" be.The fantasy of the perfect relationship. The perfect career.Life that looks good on paper. The perfect body - the ageless face. The version of success or love we were taught should make us happy. And while fantasy can feel exciting or intoxicating at first, it often comes with pressure, anxiety, urgency, and attachment to “potential.”True desire feels very different. It's grounded, quiet & clear. In this episode, Kate explores the subtle - but life-changing - difference between fantasy and true desire, and how learning to recognize it can transform not only your relationships, but the way you make every major decision in your life.Because this isn't just about dating. It's about:Who you choose to loveThe work you say yes toThe dreams you pursueAnd whether you're building a life that actually feels aligned… or just looks good from the outside.Inside this conversation, Kate shares:how conditioning and old wounds shape what we think we wantthe ways we chase potential instead of reality what true desire actually feels like in the body and nervous systemhow to slow down and make choices from self-trust instead of fear or provingthe shift from Saboteur patterns into your grounded, self-led HeroineThis episode is an invitation to stop performing a life and start choosing one that genuinely feels like you.If you've ever reached something you thought you wanted. only to feel empty once you got there - this conversation will offer clarity, language, and a new way forward.About the Host:Kate Harlow is the founder of The Unscriptd Woman, the creator of The Expanded Love Coaching Method, and host of The New Truth podcast - ranked in the top 1.5% globally. Clarity comes before certainty. In this episode of Intuition: Your Joy Compass, I talk about something that quietly fuels self-doubt for so many smart, capable women: the belief that we need certainty before we move. Spoiler alert, we don't. I share the real difference between clarity and certainty, why a loud, busy mind is not the same thing as a clear one, and how waiting for guarantees often keeps us stuck and second-guessing ourselves. Through personal stories (yes, including adopting two cats and making big life decisions without a crystal-clear roadmap), I walk you through how clarity actually shows up, subtle, steady, and often without fireworks. This episode is about learning to trust yourself, take small self-led steps, and quiet the inner critic that keeps asking for proof instead of permission. If you've been circling decisions, overthinking, or waiting to feel "100% sure," this conversation will help you reconnect with your intuition, strengthen self-trust, and move forward with more ease and confidence. Listen or watch this episode of the podcast and explore what it really means to live and decide from clarity, not certainty.   ---   Living in Clarity is open now!
