La DoubleJ founder and creative director JJ Martin joins the podcast this week with lots to celebrate. She just opened The Lighthouse, her new five-story Upper East Side flagship, which houses not only fashion and homewares but also a dedicated "Light Temple" for meditation, sound healing, and community gatherings. Martin describes the mission behind the space as creating "raise your vibration stations," where people can connect with something beyond commerce. That philosophy has become inseparable from La DoubleJ itself. Looking back, she describes the company's origins simply: "I was just kind of following the joy rocket." Her advice for aspiring entrepreneurs is equally straightforward: "Follow the joy crumbs. Anything that you would do for free at night and on the weekends has value."Martin also explains how she transformed her hobby of collecting vintage clothing into one of fashion's most recognizable print-driven brands, beginning with a single silk swing dress made with historic Lake Como manufacturer Mantero. Along the way, she became an enthusiastic ambassador for Italian craftsmanship and culture. For anyone considering a career pivot, dreaming of starting a business, or simply looking for a reminder that fashion can still be joyful, this conversation offers plenty to meditate on. https://youtu.be/BGsPiCj0A-Q On this episode of My World, Jeff Jarrett and Conrad Thompson dive deep into the moments, memories, and modern headlines shaping the wrestling business. Jeff reflects on his very first singles championship reign and why that early run became one of the most important learning experiences of his career. From handling pressure to understanding crowd psychology, Double J explains how those lessons helped shape the performer and promoter he would later become. Jeff also gives his thoughts on the latest season of Dark Side of the Ring and discusses the series taking a more granular look into the complicated history of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Plus, Jeff breaks down the over-the-top spectacle that was Fairway To Hell, explaining why the event was designed to "jump off the screen" and create a truly unforgettable experience for fans. The guys also debate whether Netflix could realistically pull off a massive professional wrestling supercard and what a streaming giant could bring to the business if they entered the live-event space in a bigger way. And of course, Jeff and Conrad weigh in on the chaos surrounding "The John Cena Invitational" the buzz it's generating across the wrestling world, and why the concept has everyone talking. On this special LIVE edition of My World with Jeff Jarrett, Jeff and Conrad are back in front of a roaring crowd to break down the biggest headlines in professional wrestling—while also celebrating a monumental milestone: Jeff Jarrett's 40 year anniversary in the business. Jeff doesn't hold back as he dives into the controversy surrounding WWE/TKO's decision-making, including the impact of adding Pat McAfee to a major main event. Is it star power or a misstep that overshadowed the moment? Jeff gives his unfiltered take. The conversation heats up as Jeff discusses why Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton is more than enough to carry a marquee program no extras needed. Plus, Jeff sounds off on McAfee's recent comments, calling them a major foul and questioning how they reflect on the WWE locker room and brand as a whole. Jeff also draws a compelling comparison between Cody Rhodes' current position and his own experience at Bash at the Beach 2000, offering rare insight into the pressures and politics of being "the guy" at the top. The guys also explore the idea of a Wednesday Night War documentary why now might be the perfect time to tell that story and what fans would really want to see behind the curtain. All that, plus heartfelt reflections, stories from the road, and a huge thank you to fans as Jeff celebrates 40 incredible years in professional wrestling. Are you ready for some incredible stories? Take 5 always gifts us with some cracking yarns, but this week's episode takes the cake. In fact, I've had more responses to Ed Le Brocq's Take 5 than any other, in ages.Ed used to be Eddie Ayers, a legendary ABC Classic FM broadcaster who has shared his life of adventure with us over the past two decades. Ed is a cellist, viola, and violin player, and has gifted his talents to others; teaching school kids in Afghanistan, and playing for Uyghurs in the remote deserts of China. We'll get to those stories soon… but this might give you a sense of why I asked Ed to Take 5. Across four books, Ed has shared his stories of travel and self-discovery with us, and music has always been at his centre. From Joni Mitchell to shredding violas to Ry Cooder, this is an extraordinary conversation about the power of love, self-belief, adventure and of course, music. Follow my Instagram here Student Rick was an emo band from South Bend, Indiana. They gained recognition for their song "Falling for You," featured on Soundtrack for a Generation and included in the video games Aggressive Inline and Amped 2. The song was often misattributed online to bands like Taking Back Sunday and Simple Plan during the file-sharing era. Formed in the late '90s, the band solidified their lineup in 2000 and signed to Victory Records in 2001, releasing their debut album later that year. They toured extensively, including the 2002 Vans Warped Tour, but faced lineup changes and injuries along the way. Due to creative differences, Student Rick broke up in November 2002, with members later forming other projects like Hello Vegas and Say Say. Big shot out to Double J (episode 136) for connecting me with Adam and also giving me a bunch of notes to reference for my questions. In this episode, a conversation with Alister Newstead, a music journalist, reporter and music editor with Triple J and Double J, and author of a new book in the 33 1/3 series on Tame Impala's landmark album, Currents. The album is emblematic of a cultural shift in music production and consumption in the early days of streaming and a project that cemented its creator, Kevin Parker, as one of Australian music's most unlikely success stories and influential exports. This book dives deep into Currents, examining its context, creation, content and lasting impact on the history of Australian popular music. The album's theme of metamorphosis and genre-blurring sound embodied (and possibly encouraged) a wider shift in the 2010s of popular music trends, consumption and listening habits. I hope you all survived the holidays, and more importantly, I hope you survived the absolute sensory overload that was the last 48 hours of AEW television. The presents are unwrapped, the eggnog is gone, but the road to World's End is burning hot.Tonight, Tim and Tom are LIVE to break down a chaotic Christmas week and look ahead to the PPV this Saturday in Chicago. The Holiday HangoverIf you were scrolling through the Bluesky timeline last night like we were, you saw the collective brain-melt happening in real-time. The theme of the week? Mathematical Chaos and Unadulterated Violence.Between Dynamite on 34th Street and Christmas Collision, Tony Khan gave us the gift of stress. Here is what we are digging into tonight:The C2 Calculus: We went into Christmas Collision with a six-way tie in the Gold League (absolute madness), but the field is finally set. Takeshita vs. Okada? Fletcher vs. Moxley? We're previewing the Semifinals that have the potential to steal the show this Saturday. The Return of the Devil: MJF is back, he's “humble” (sure, Max), and he immediately got stomped out by Hangman and Swerve. The 4-Way Title picture is looking explosive.Steps & Stairs: Gabe Kidd throwing Darby Allin down the Hammerstein stairs? Poetry. Violent, painful poetry.Bandido Strikes Gold: The Dynamite Diamond Ring has a new owner! The Stakes Are High (And So Is The Fashion Risk)It's not just the AEW roster fighting for glory this weekend. Tonight, Tom and I are locking in our official World's End Predictions. And yes, there are consequences. As you'll see on the stream tonight, Tim will be wearing the Jeff Jarrett T-shirt for the duration of the show. He flew too close to the sun on the last predictions, and now has to pay the price. But tonight, the slate is clean. We are predicting the entire World's End card. The loser of this bout has to wear the Double J shirt on next week's episode. The band are known for their live shows, and their forthcoming new album is one they wrote with a stadium sensibility in mind.
