Thanks to the gorgeous Theresa Winters of some place in Illinois, but no thanks to the misbehaving sound equipment at the venue, we had the best time recording this episode live in front of an audience in Sydney last week.In the lead up to a clothes swap organised at the same venue (the Green Living Centre) the following week, Ali and Jo discuss the potential issues of what should be a sustainable solution to fashion waste/overconsumption. After hosting public versions for various councils, they found that too many participants were using clothes swaps as ‘dumps', as many do with op shop (thrift store) doorsteps.Along with special guest Theresa, clothes swapping “pro” and advocate, Ali and Jo look at ways we can be more mindful when it comes to swaps and - even beyond that - their default ‘Retail Therapy' behaviour.IMPORTANT: If you're a slow or circular fashion store in Sydney and would like to have us host a live pod, panel, ‘sip n style', industry meet-up or other event, we're usually happy to collaborate. Email your idea to questioningfashionpodcast@slogue.com.auAnd as usual, please email any questions or comments to the same address, using the codeword ‘Acorn' in the subject line (we'll explain later…)Meanwhile, check out Theresa Winters' awesome ‘experiential publication' The Plus Ones for some of “Earth's best experiences” in your local hood. What truly sustains us when it comes to food? Taking into account bioindividuality, health, age, sex, geographical location, climate, regeneration and taste preferences, it's not a black-and-white conversation at all, much as many try to make it and in this conversation, we explore it. We talk: What drives an everyday desire to cook wellHow even the best chefs get frustrated with the constraints of sustainability/limited resources (phew!)How not to be overwhelmed by new skill building in the kitchenHow to find what inspires youHow to make peace with the “grey area” and not always being able to make the best choices for the planet/youOne of Australia's most inventive chefs, Jo Barrett, joins me to unpack her journey as a person and chef into connecting on a deeper level with food and our food system, cooking from “place”, from emotions and connection, as well as working to pioneer what's possible with curiosity and creativity. Jo made her name at the acclaimed Oakridge Winery in the Yarra Valley, before joining the groundbreaking eco-living experiment Future Food System in 2021, which involved a year of living and working with fellow chef Matt Stone, in a tiny urban, zero-waste farm situated on the banks of the Yarra River in Melbourne's Federation Square, a project that famed regenerative superhero, Joost Baker, spearheaded as the ultimate anti-dote example to the destructive modern food system. It was a no-waste house complete with aquaponics, solar power, micro-farms, a charcoal tank and a rooftop garden, home to Matt and Jo, who spent their days harvesting, cooking and eating the food this 100% sustainable modern urban farm produces – while all waste produced by the house was fed back into the house's systems: a closed-loop.Jo recently opened the restaurant Little Picket in the seaside town of Lorne. Fearless and visionary, there is no one better placed to write the ultimate guide to cooking deliciously and consciously and her book Sustain, inspires and delights as it teaches us to get curious and learn new skills to sustain ourselves - and our planet - better each day in our daily lives at the kitchen table. Follow @jobarrett on Instagram and check out her new book Sustain, out now. If you've ever been challenged by the tug of responsibilities, to do's, to want to do's and to be more, today's conversation is a balm for all the things, helping you explore what it might take and mean, to bring more peace, joy and satisfaction that you've done enough, into your life. In filling up your own cup - what gives you the biggest of joys? In doing ‘all the things' for work, family, partner, community - what is ‘enough'? Where is the line? Today I invite fellow a human at that busy intersection of business owners, teen kids, pets, partners and parents, Robyn Rosenfeldt, to have a conversation about how we can prioritise ourselves, so that we feel we have enough to give, what giving enough in different ways looks like and how to make peace with our enough in a world constantly telling us that we aren't, well, enough. Robyn is the founder and publisher of Pip magazine, a magazine that helps you nourish yourself and the planet. Articles are filled with ideas and inspiration about living a more earth-friendly life. Here's to a new chapter with more joy and peace that we've done enough - and accepting this looks different from person to person and in the many different phases of life that we lead.Enjoy the conversation and I do hope it sparks conversations and journaling for you, Alexx x Check out the wonderful @pipmagazineau on InstagramAnd share any ahas on @lowtoxlife on Instagram with me.Our wonderful sponsors are helping you with your low tox swaps this September: International listeners can enjoy 15% off the full range of lights, lightbulbs, red light panels, eye masks and more at @blockbluelight_official with the code LOWTOXLIFE15@ausclimate continues to offer you 10% off their powerful dehumidifiers and Winix air purifiers, with the code LOWTOXLIFE on phone orders and online at ausclimate.com.auAnd if you're after a high-quality liquid Omega 3 supplement, @therahealth and the same one we use at our house, you have 15% off Arctic Cod Liver Oil on the www.therahealth.com.au website with the code LOWTOX Hosted on Acast. Yes folks, this is quite literally the ultimate Blunder Bus journey. After travelling thousands of kilometres around Australia, talking to some of the finest leaders in the land, the time has come to park the bus.So this episode is a bit special. I've invited Leigh Hatcher, one of Australia's most respected experienced journalists (he even has his own Wikipedia entry!) to chat to me about the whole Blunder Bus journey. Leigh asks me about why I started doing this podcast in the first place, why I've decided to 'park the bus' and what I've learnt on the journey.I share about one of my greatest leadership blunders, the moment when two people who were closest to me came to me, entirely separately from each other, and told me what a lousy leader I was. And they were right! It remains one of the most pivotal moments in my leadership development. So much of my fascination with failure comes from this moment, and it shapes so much about what I believe about leadership now. Thanks for being on the journey with me. It's been so much fun. I'm really grateful to all the guests who jumped on the bus and shared so vulnerably about their leadership failure. I sincerely hope the podcast has been a blessing to you. If you want to give me any feedback, send an email to me here: edward@generationleadership.com.auAnd who knows? Maybe we'll cross paths some time in the future....on The Blunder Bus.If you would like to talk to Ed about Pastoral Supervision, visit the website hereOr you can email Ed at edward@generationleadership.com.auI'd love if you would rate and review this podcastAnd thanks for being on the journey on The Blunder Bus!

In today's chat I am joined again by the lovely Jasmine from the Wholesome Heart. Jasmine is a women's health and nutrition coach, specialising in gut health and banishing the bloat! Today we dive into Jasmine's pregnancy, birth, and postpartum and some things that popped up for her postpartum that she wasn't expecting. She had to go back into the hospital to have surgery on a retrained placenta, she was on a lot of antibiotics which then can go through the breastmilk - she chats to us about what we can do to optimise the baby's gut if that happens to us. I learned so much in today's chat - I hope you get a lot out of it too. It was such a great reminder of some things we can implement today to improve our health no matter what postpartum stage you might be in. If you enjoyed today's episode, it would be fabulous if you could leave me a written review on the apple podcast app and subscribe so you don't miss an episode. Today's episode is a bit of a blast from the past! It's an interview I recorded in 2020 with the lovely Jasmine from The Wholesome Heart, Jasmine is a Women's Health and Nutrition Coach, specialising in Gut health and all things bloating! I am replaying this epic interview as my old podcast no longer exists and I think this chat is just too good not to live anywhere online! I will also be chatting with Jasmine in the very near future and we will be following on from everything in today's chat. We will discuss all things postpartum and gut health! In today's episode we chat about: Signs and Symptoms your gut health is out of whack Symptoms like acne, skin issues, eczema, bloating, diarrhea, and how they relate to your gut health. How it's important to get familiar with your bowls! How to get the most out of your cycle Contraception and the gut How to support your gut through pregnancy And so much more! In today's episode, I chat with my friend Gabby about her postpartum experience. Gabby speaks about her pregnancy and birth with her little girl, Ishani. Gabby had a relatively straightforward pregnancy and was a bit of a pregnancy unicorn - she was glowing and really rocked being pregnant! She had a vaginal birth with no pain relief too - I loved hearing her birth story. I need to put a trigger warning on today's episode as we mention pregnancy loss and miscarriage. Gabby experienced an Ectopic pregnancy at the beginning of this year and she goes into depth about what that was like and what symptoms to look out for. She then fell pregnant in her very next cycle - she was very excited but unfortunately, it ended in miscarriage. Gabby walks us through what she experienced with that and how she felt throughout. In today's episode, I chat with the lovely Claudia, who is a first-time mama to her daughter Sadie. Today she opens up about the anxiety she had throughout her pregnancy which is something I haven't covered before on this podcast. Claudia really opens up about what she went through with it and how she got through it. She had an extreme needle phobia but pushed through to get the epidural - which unfortunately slipped out and ended up needing it three times. Her birth involved suction, forceps, and an episiotomy and she has found the recovery to be a lot tougher than she expected, unfortunately, she had a bit of damage to her pelvic floor which she is now working on. Claudia went through quite a lot but is so in love with her daughter she says she'd do it all again in a heartbeat! In today's episode, I chat with my good friend Kate. Kate and I met when we were 18 studying to be make-up artists, we did a diploma in makeup artistry. Kate and I have remained friends over the years and there's something so special about knowing someone for so long and then watching them go through each stage of their life and becoming a mother. Kate works as a counsellor, and it's fascinating hearing her point of view on how everything unfolded for her postpartum. She speaks about her experience with the birth of her son, he came into the world quite quickly and Kate was unable to have the epidural. She speaks of the shock she felt having a quick birth and of the pressure of breastfeeding and sleep routines - I think a lot of us can relate to these pressures! Kate is super open with how she felt and what she went through, I really enjoyed today's episode, and I hope you do too. In today's episode, I speak with Amba. Amba had a water birth at a birth center here in Perth. She talks about how amazing it was to be in the water - although at the start she said it was the one thing she didn't want, to be sitting in a pool of blood but after her experience she loved it. Her birth was positive and straightforward and she had a great experience. She speaks of the exhaustion she felt immediately postpartum and the struggles of only having a small family support network here in Perth as a lot of her family lived interstate. I have spoken to a few women who have experienced birth trauma so I found today's episode really interesting. We chat about what birth trauma is, how to identify if we have it, and what the difference is between postnatal depression, post-natal anxiety, and birth trauma, what we can do to prepare for birth the second time around if we've experienced birth trauma, how to support a friend or family member who has had a traumatic birth and so much more! Keywordsorganisations, people, industry, john, latency, manufacturing, decision, company, excellence, product, data, error proofing, piece, spreadsheet, line, cost, week, buy, technology, thinkingIntroWelcome to episode 90 of the Enterprise Excellence Podcast. It is such a pleasure to have Mr John Broadbent back on the show with us today. John spoke to us last week about Industry 4.0 and the three hats of digital transformations. If you want to start a digital transformation, you have to start at the top and don't get stuck in pilot purgatory. We talked about real-time information and having total visibility on the manufacturing floor. Let's continue the chat today about Industry 4.0. Like in sports! How cool is it to see the leading measures in cricket, the number of runs in rugby, or time counting the seconds on a wheel change in formula one? We chat about project management and business intelligence due to the lack of timely data in the intelligence dashboard. John talks about many big companies and gives examples from their systems. It's a great episode. Let's get to it!Two Minute Tip16.48minJohn, what would be your enterprise excellence two-minute tip in this area of expertise with industry 4.0 and excellence?Get started. Get help. Simple as that. It's a good point. Get started. Don't wait. The World Economic Forum's now got a group called the Global Lighthouse network. You can find them on the internet. Just look up Global Lighthouse Network. There are 90 businesses now in that network. Businesses are being added every few months. And the 90 businesses are being audited by McKinsey. There's a chart that people can find on the World Economic Forum's website that has 16 manufacturing performance metrics. And the audited improvement from starting industry 4.0 to being well versed with it now, both within the four walls of factories and along the supply chain. And the improvements are off the charts. The good news is the chart starts at zero, so no one went backwards. So that might be a range from 2% to 140%. Somewhere in the middle might be your organisation. But when Deloitte say that, you know labour productivity is up by 10%. Capacity is up by 11%. And the cost of manufacture has improved by 12%. If you're a manufacturing organisation could add 10, 11 and 12% in each of those areas to your bottom line. That's not chump change.LinksBrad is proud to support many Australian businesses.
