VINCE MELOUNEY SECT "Women (Make You Feel Alright)" Burger Records (2020) “Women (Make You Feel Alright)” is the new digital single by Australian guitarist Vince Melouney who was a member of The Bee Gees during the band's initial wave of worldwide popularity from 1967 to 1969. “Women” was originally recorded by Vince’s mates The Easybeats in 1966. Vince’s version was recorded earlier this year with legendary producer Shel Talmy whose credits include The Easybeats’ “Friday On My Mind” in addition to classic tracks by The Kinks, The Who, The Creation and others. “Women” features Vince on vocal and lead guitar, joined by Clem Burke of Blondie on drums, Jonathan Lea of The Jigsaw Seen on additional guitars, Alec Palao on bass and Paul Kopf on backing vocals. Alec and Paul are members of the San Francisco-based band Strangers In A Strange Land and also play in the current version of veteran Garage Rock band The Seeds. As a member of The Bee Gees, Vince appeared on seven US Top 20 singles; "New York Mining Disaster 1941," "To Love Somebody," "Holiday," "Massachusetts," "Words," "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" and "I Started A Joke" plus five US Top 20 albums; "Bee Gees' First," "Horizontal," "Idea,” “Odessa” and “Best Of Bee Gees.” Vince's television appearances with The Bee Gees include "The Ed Sullivan Show," "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" and "Rowan & Martin's Laugh- In" in the US, "Top Of The Pops" in the UK and "Beat Club" in Germany. Vince appears in The Bee Gees' forthcoming official documentary produced by Frank Marshall ("Raiders Of The Lost Ark," "Back To The Future") and Nigel Sinclair ("The Beatles: Eight Days A Week," "George Harrison: Living In The Material World.") This film will be released by Universal Music Group later this year. Released by Burger Records, “Women” is now available at digital music stores and streaming services.

THE ZINFANDELS "4 O'Clock" Like It Was Burger Records (2020) The Zinfandels are an American Rock'n'Roll band from Garden Grove, California. The band was formed by best friends Rafael Farias and Steven Salazar. They were later joined by high school classmates Jairo Estrada and Patrick Palomo. Together they developed a sound which they describe as having one foot in the past and one foot in the future. After Steven's untimely death they were left with a collection of songs in various stages of completion. The remaining members finished the songs for their debut album "Like It Was" using Steven's drum tracks that had been recorded when he was still alive. Left with a hole to fill The Zinfandels enlisted a revolving list of close friends to sit behind the drum kit as they continue to create and do what they do.

DEAD GHOSTS "Merle" Automatic Changer Burger Records (2020) https://burgerrecords.com/product/dead-ghosts-automatic-changer/ Formed nearly a decade ago in Vancouver, Canada, the garage-rock group grew out of founders Byran Nicol, Drew Wilky, and Mike Wilky's desire to hang out, listen to records and play music. After the trio uploaded a few demos to Myspace--this was 2008, after all--a small punk record label from Iowa reached out and asked if they wanted to do a single. The single quickly led to the group's first full-length album, the self-titled Dead Ghosts."We got lucky," Nicol, the group's frontman, recalls. "When we started playing, we were just messing with recording, and generally goofing around. We had no vision at all. We just wanted to play house parties or something--that was the limit of our aspirations."Defying their own expectations, by 2015 the group had released two more albums--Can't Get No and Love and Death and All the Rest--both of which released on LA record label, Burger Records and embarked on several lengthy tours across Europe and US. Playing a distinctive brand of swaggering, blues-infused lo-fi rock, the five-piece quickly won over transatlantic fans and scored fresh fodder for their lyrics with their punk-rock antics.
THE FLYTRAPS "Wild Card" Wild Card Burger Records / Outro Records (2020) https://burgerrecords.com/product/the-flytraps-wild-card/ https://outrorecords.com/12-vinyl-record-store One of the stand out moments at pretty much any Flytraps gig is when tall bassist/front woman/vixen Kristin Cooper, often clad in a pair of her signature stylishly kinky, high heeled leather boots that enable her to tower over the audience bellows out that her gender is “more deadly than the male” in their song “Female of the Species”. It always resounds as a declaration to be truly reckoned with. Whether she’s cheering an opening band or strutting it up on stage with the Flytraps, Kristin exudes a compelling aura of confidence and punk rock sangfroid that fully lives up to her reputation as a one-woman Rocknroll bacchanal. Aided and abetted by ever smilin’ ‘n shreddin’ guitarist Elizabeth Boyd and Wildman drummer Fabian Ruiz, all friends since high school, this volatile female dominated trio formed out of the coastal region of Orange County are tethered together, as it were, by a shared love of psychedelic garage, old school punk and rockabilly. Since then The Flytraps have made their bones with a number of appearances at the annual Oakland fest Burger Boogaloo along with a choice slot on the 2018 Burger A Go Go tour side by side with the Coat Hangers and Death Valley Girls, packed gigs opening for the likes of Redd Kross, the Dead Boys and the Distillers and a featured song in a second season episode of Netflix/Marvel’s Iron Fist. The band’s first full length album titled appropriately enough Wild Card, features a few previously released songs from Outro records and Burger records, and is a straight ahead unrelenting punk rock affair genre-wise with a few nods to garage and rockabilly while the songs themselves espouse a particularly deviate ethos and a couple of references to podophilia (or foot worship, for the uninitiated) in the title track and “Baby’s A Freak”. Produced at Jazzcat Studios in Long Beach by Johnny Bell, the twelve tracks contained on this recording bristle with a raw energy that brings to mind the earliest releases of the Weirdos, Motorhead and yes, the Ramones. Alternating between frenetic numbers that burst out at a breakneck pace (“Wild Card”, “All Talk”) and bouncy up tempo riff driven tunes (“Baby’s A Freak”, “Sunset Strip R.I.P.”), this album delivers a glorious sonic attack enhanced by the band’s secret weapon Beth who displays some serious rock ‘n roll chops on her guitar solos and is anchored by the ferocious thunder of Fabian Ruiz’s drums. In the grand tradition of the Cramps, the Flytraps create and play debauched party music for freaks that even vanilla punk rock fans can enjoy!
THE EXBATS "Wet Cheeks" Kicks, Hits and Fits Burger Records (2020) https://burgerrecords.com/product/the-exbats-kicks-hits-and-fits/ E is for Exbats, their first vinyl release, earned The Exbats their bona fides as modern day masters of clever, catchy bubblegum garage punk. With their newest release, Kicks, Hits, and Fits the band ups the stakes with their best work yet as the raw, infectious energy of the bands' early days matures into smart, melodic pop craftsmanship. With appearances at festivals including SXSW, Dirty Penni Fest, Night of the Living Fest and HoCo Fest, and extensive touring under their belt, the band has been whipping up the charm for live audiences (and battling overzealous doormen) throughout the West Coast and Southwest for the past few years and climbing the charts at college and indie rock radio stations across the country. It could be said that Exbats drummer and frontwoman Inez Mclain was born to play rock and roll. The talented vocalist and songwriter was not only raised on the music of bands like the Hollies, the Stones and the Monkees, but was named for the prime Monkee himself - Mike "Papa Nez" Nesmith. Still, there's nothing like parental intervention to give one's destiny a little push. Inez's fate was more or less sealed the day her father, Exbats guitarist Ken Mclain, picked up the 10 year old from a slumber party with a new drum kit in the back seat."All kids need to learn an instrument," Inez remembers her dad saying that fateful morning. "Do you want to learn piano from some boring old woman like all the other kids? Or do you want to play the drums in a rock and roll band?" Needless to say, she chose the band and within a couple years the two were playing at any punk club , dive bar or stage that would have them. And so began the Exbats, a punk rock family enterprise whose early performances sounded something like (in Ken Mclain's words) "if the Partridge Family picked up the Cramps hitchhiking" or "a demented Brill Building Brady Bunch." Specializing in simple, two minute garage punk gems in the spirit of the Ramones and Flight of the Conchords, the pair played gigs in and around Portland, Oregon for a few years (along with a fateful pair of shows in Prague) before ditching the rat race for rural Arizona, in search of a place where they would "never have to run into a Walmart Supercenter." By the time Inez turned 18, she and her dad had settled in Bisbee, AZ (a town affectionately described by locals as "like Mayberry on acid") and the Exbats had begun to find their sound. Turns out that all those years of playing, singing and "musical immersion therapy" had taught Inez a thing or two about songcraft, as had the strict template for songwriting that Ken had laid out for the band from the start. Write every song like it's a single. Hinge it all on catchy hooks. Mercilessly purge anything unnecessary. Keep the whole thing no longer than about two and a half or three minutes long. It's a formula that worked brilliantly for the pop hitmakers of the 50s and 60s and it still works today. Only, instead of Sun Studios or Muscle Shoals or Abbey Road, the Exbats record at Tucson, AZ based Midtown Island Studios, the home studio of Matt Rendon of the Resonars. And instead of PG rated songs about puppy love and doomed hot rod rides, the Exbats write about things like homoerotic superhero sidekicks and television losers, rock and roll dreamers and existential angst, hexing the patriarchy and fighting the barman who's carding you out of your own gig.

THOMAS MUDRICK "Rockopop" Ten Dollar Soup Collection Burger Records / Ten Dollar Recording Co (2020) https://burgerrecords.com/product/thomas-mudrick-ten-dollar-soup-collection-cassette/ Silverton, Oregon's Thomas Mudrick is the real deal: talented, unique of vision, and able to go the distance. Mudrick has certainly got a swelling back catalogue to contend with, and his zany tongue in cheek lyrics are interspersed with more introspective moments that strike a zen balance of goofiness and world-weary wisdom. To suggest that Mudrick refuses to be boxed in to any rote and well-trod genres or categories should be pretty well established at this point for anyone paying attention, but new listener be warned: the musical temperature can change pretty quick ‘round these here parts, so keep yer listening ears on and enjoy the ride.
GO CACTUS "Just For Fun" Pulaski Street Burger Records (2020) Go Cactus are two brothers and a cousin who barely in their twenties already take part of that generation of bands that stands for renewing the combative rock at the dawn of the 70's. In 2018 they released their first EP which condensed the distinctive features of the next-to-last lo-fi garage-punk revision, the same started by bands like The Parrots, Los Nastys or Los Bengala. Nevertheless, Go Cactus display a certain degree of academicism that, with no doubt, set them apart from the hype, recalling big names in the genre as The Nomads, The Fleshtones and the legendary Limes Spiders. 2019 has been the year in which Go Cactus have been made known to the public with more than 50 concerts in festivals and all sorts of parties, and also the year where they opened for Franz Ferdinand in front of 2,500 people and going on stage beside The Posies or The Cynics. This new 3 song EP has been recorded and produced in NY by Matt Verta-Ray (The John Spencer Blues Explosion, Heavy Trash, The Glories, etc.) and is to be released at the end of February by Burger Records followed by a tour in UK, US and Spain.

JOHNNY & THE ROTTEN "Art is Dead" Down the Rabbit Hole Burger Records (2020) Album out 1st February 2020 Video by Johnny & The Rotten Contact & booking: johnnyandtherotten@gmail.com Imagine The Beach Boys having weird, dirty, sweaty sex with Sonic Youth and their baby turns out to be an angry punk that doesn‘t give a fuck about the dos and don‘ts of how to behave as a band. Johnny & the Rotten are a breath of fresh air to the yet oddly diverse and gifted music scene of Linz, Austria and probably the rest of the world. Expect the unexpected at each one of their shows but most importantly expect to be blown away by a noisy wall of sound and an overly energetic show that makes you wonder how only three dudes manage to deliver all of that.
SHADOW SHOW "Charades" Silhouettes Burger Records / Stolen Body Records Directed by Bobby Harlow w/ help from Magic Jake www.burgerrecords.com www.stolenbodyrecords.co.uk Hailing from Detroit, Shadow Show is a new sound in light of a new era. Sleek and spellbinding, the music sweeps you up into its frenetic psychedelic grooves and dazzling harmonies. Shadow Show pushes the boundaries of what can be, yet remains deeply rooted in the raw, untouchable Detroit sound. At the age of 17 they delved into a world where time no longer exists, where music takes its reign and everything else follows: Detroit’s music scene as it stands. It’s one of those things that remains almost as if it shouldn’t. Shadow Show started out in the dregs of the forgotten metropolis in a dark and transitional time for the city, playing in the basements of battered manors and inconspicuous store fronts. As the surrounding landscape changed, so did the soundscape the people of Detroit had created for themselves. Shadow Show, in its truest form, represents the love of a time long lost and the will of a time not yet discovered. A power trio of a mysterious hue, Shadow Show combines elements of 60’s garage-psychedelia into a 21st century modern pop-art incarnation. They project a vision to the world in their display: a spectacle of light as curious as shadow. Shadow Show, comprised of guitarist Ava East, bassist Kate Derringer, and drummer Kerrigan Pearce, debuted in August 2018. Upon the release of singles, “The Machine” and “Glass Eye,” they made their presence known nationally and internationally before laying low during the creation of their debut album, Silhouettes. They will tour Europe in February 2020 and the States in March 2020 upon the release of the album. ABOUT “SILHOUETTES”: Recorded in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Silhouettes is the self-produced debut endeavor of Shadow Show’s unique sound and vision. The 10-track album was recorded and mixed by Kate Derringer, and mastered by Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs, Ghetto Recorders). The album will be released internationally on Burger Records and Stolen Body Records on February 14, 2020. Notable tracks include, “Charades,” “Shadow Box,” and “Trapeze Act.”

Alice Damon Kinzie & Bill Kinzie "Bike Chase" Time Chasers: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Burger Records (2019) THE YEAR IS 1994... a low-budget sci-fi film called TIME CHASERS is released by Rutland, Vermont's Edgewood Studios. 3 years later the movie is riffed by Mystery Science Theater 3000 and seen by a young, impressionable Sean of #BurgerRecords. Fast forward 22 years and 1,000+ viewings of the MST3K episode and Sean buys a Castleton t-shirt online (like Nick Miller wears in the movie). Sean gets wrong size shirt. Sean sad :-( Director David Giancola responds personally and gets Sean the right size. Sean happy :-) Sean then asks David if he would be interested in releasing the Time Chasers soundtrack on Burger. David says yes. Sean's dream comes true and here we are with the limited edition pressing of TIME CHASERS original motion picture soundtrack OUT TODAY on
Hailing from Detroit, Shadow Show is a new sound in light of a new era.
