In a world spinning with cultural chaos—where identity is blurred, truth is twisted, and justice is rebranded—revivalists don't play it safe. They break the silence the Church has too often kept, stepping into the fire with unapologetic truth and prophetic grit. While society battles mental breakdowns, economic collapse, war, and division, revivals cut through the noise with raw hope, deep healing, and a call to something real. This isn't religion-as-usual. In Christianity, the altar holds deep significance for both symbolic and practical reasons. For many Christians, it is seen as a place where God's presence dwells in a special way, especially during worship and reverent moments. Historically, altars in the Bible were used as places to offer sacrifices to God. Today, the altar also symbolizes the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, making it a sacred space where Heaven and Earth meet."Altars Over Thrones" represents the prioritization of the Cross over the crowd, prophecies over policies, and a return to the genuine biblical path for transformation—both personal and national. There has been a rise in Christian "TMZ-like ministries" that focus on exposing the latest controversies surrounding ministers and ministries that have erred. It has become increasingly popular for ministries to blast rather than build Today, the news and entertainment industries thrive on controversy and outrage, often fueling division. Additionally, platforms like YouTube, X, Facebook, and TikTok amplify conflicts, as people react impulsively without deep thought. This quick-response culture contributes to the spread of misinformation, leading to outrage over things that may not even be true. How should we view this? What is the lens of the New Testament concerning this?In this episode of Keep It 100, we discuss "The Pure Gospel vs. The Petty Gospel" in a deep conversation with Apostolic Leader and Author Chazdon Strickland. He addresses the growing trend of "spill the tea" ministries and YouTubers who focus on fallen ministers, offering insight into the biblical response and the posture believers should take.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithX: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
In the vast landscape of life, every believer is assigned a spiritual territory by God—an area of influence, authority, and responsibility uniquely given to them. This territory encompasses your personal life, family, community, and beyond. However, the process of taking over, defending, expanding, and flourishing within this God-ordained territory is not without its challenges. Spiritual forces, both seen and unseen, seek to undermine the progress of believers, keeping them confined, frustrated, and limited in their walk with Christ. Yet, as believers, we are called not merely to survive but to conquer, resulting in a need like the Prophet Jeremiah says, "to run with horses".In this episode of Keep it 100, we have a little recap of our Momentum 2025 Conference and then have a conversation on the poignant and prophetic themes that God laid on our hearts for this gathering.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
It's a NEW YEAR and there's grace to hear afresh from the Spirit of God. Prophetic words are not just a luxury, but a necessity. Just as communication is vital in human relationships, hearing God's voice strengthens the bond between a believer and the Creator. Hearing God's voice provides clarity and direction in life. It helps believers make decisions aligned with divine will, avoiding confusion and uncertainty. In times of hardship, doubt, or fear, hearing God's voice can provide reassurance, hope, and comfort....And these are those times! In this episode of Keep It 100 we have an in depth and insightful convo with Pastor, Author and Prophetic Minister Dr. Michael Maiden on how he learned to get and give prophetic encouragement to the world around him.Momentum Conference 2025 registration - www.seanandchristasmith.comWebsite: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
In Christianity, taking risks is important because it helps build trust with God, and it's a way to show faith in God's grace. Risk activates faith, which is more than just a feeling. It's a way of telling doubt and emotions that you trust God enough to take action. Additionally, Risk is a skill that can be learned, strengthened, and grown. Yet, Risk-taking in faith is not recklessness but a bold confidence that God is faithful, able, and sovereign, even when the path is uncertain. This truth will be vitally important in the coming year of 2025.In this episode of Keep It 100, we have a pivotal conversation with Author, Pastor and International speaker Apostle Joshua Giles on the subjects of Risk-Taking, An emerging generation revival, the coming rise in both turbulence and Spiritual Gifts.Momentum Conference 2025 registration - www.seanandchristasmith.comWebsite: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
The PROPHETIC WORD of the Lord is a powerful and transformative aspect of spiritual life that holds great significance for humanity. It provides divine guidance in both personal and collective circumstances. It illuminates God's will, helping individuals and corporate communities navigate challenges, make decisions, and align their actions with His purpose. Prophecy often prepares believers for what lies ahead, whether it is challenges, opportunities, or spiritual battles. Being aware of the prophetic word equips them to respond with readiness and trust in God's Word.In this episode of Keep It 100, we have a sit down, in depth conversation with Prophetic Minister, Author and apostolic leader Jane Hamon.Momentum Conference 2025 registration - www.seanandchristasmith.comWebsite: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
A prophetic perspective is important because it provides a God-centered lens to view your current situations, offering insight into potential future outcomes and guiding individuals toward aligning their lives with God's will, often by highlighting areas of needed change or encouraging faithfulness to God's plan, even when challenges arise; essentially, it acts as a spiritual compass to navigate life with a deeper understanding of God's purpose and direction. In this episode of Keep It 100, we have an interesting twist of Prophet, Equipper and Author Julian Adams interviewing me on prophetic perspectives in 2025, while also sharing what God has shown him for this upcoming year.Momentum Conference 2025 registration - www.seanandchristasmith.comWebsite: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
"Achieving a Christian spiritual corporate breakthrough—whether for a church, ministry, or business—requires a blend of spiritual, practical, and community-driven efforts. Additionally, revival or a "Spiritual Breakthrough," whether spiritual, cultural, or personal, often involves people coming together with a shared purpose or goal. This mirrors the sense of belonging and unity found within a family. The Bible uses the Greek word "Koinonia" (deep fellowship) to describe the intense connection and community that the early church experienced. The essence of koinonia encompasses concepts conveyed in the English terms community, communion, joint participation, sharing, and intimacy. This quality is deeply needed to achieve what God desires to unleash in this hour and in the lives of His followers."In this episode of the Keep It 100 Podcast, we have an open conversation with our Momentum Revival Team about "Birthing a Breakthrough" both individually and corporately.Register for "Momentum Conference 2025 - Unleashing the Wild Ones" - Jan 30th - Feb 1st at seanandchristasmith.comWebsite: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
"Ever wonder why You are left here in this world as a Christian? Is it to worship God? Is it to be like Christ? Yes would be the right answer to these questions but the reality is that God could take us to heaven immediately after we are saved and we'll do these things perfectly there. We'll be fully like Christ and worship God perfectly. But there is one thing that will not take place in heaven and that is evangelism. Evangelism, which is God's mission given to the Church, is the sole reason why we are here today. Yet, why do we only a few Christians evangelize? What has happened to evangelism in our generation? And... "What if there is a record-setting harvest waiting on you?"In this episode, we have a life-transforming conversation with Lifestyle Cristianity's Founder and featured in movies, "Father of Light", "Holy Ghost" & "Holy Ghost Reborn" - Todd White. Many crime dramas focus on a star witness being "intimidated" by some Mob types to prevent them from testifying in a way that would close the case against them. In our modern culture, Hell fights our witness of Christ to keep us from presenting the case of Christ. When the church gets her bold witness on, historic outbreaks have occured drawing the connection between Evangelism and Revivals! When revival occurs, it often ignites a passion among believers to share their faith with others, making evangelism a natural outflow of revival. Effective evangelism can also serve as a catalyst for revival. In this episode of "Keep It 100" we have a revealing conversation with the amazing Author and Speaker Jessi Green.Register for "Revival & Evangelism Masterclass" - Nov 22-23rd at seanandchristasmith.comWebsite: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
Think about the cringe factor that comes with the word "proselytize." It carries the same stigma as the word "evangelize." Evangelism is often viewed as intrusive, coercive, and crass. As a result, sharing your faith becomes a scary prospect. When choosing between being accepted by others and sharing the good news, too often Christians choose silence. Additionally, all the forces of hell are set against those who seek to reach out with the good news of Jesus. When a church mobilizes to equip believers to share their faith, it is a declaration of war. Because of this spiritual reality, many churches stop reaching out and engaging in intentional evangelism. In this episode of Keep it 100, we have an insightful conversation on the 'why' behind the 'what' of your testimony and the Gospel's impact on the world today."Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
Going to a church is easy; staying with a church is difficult. Trouble in the church is one of the most painful experiences a person can have, and the complicated nature of these situations makes them hard to navigate. Maybe you have seen a Christian mentor fall. You might have witnessed the collapse of a ministry due to unnecessary drama. You might have contributed to some of the problems that caused you to leave.Meanwhile God is silently raising up an army of "love not their lives unto death" type of believers who will shake things up . The problem is, in this modern world, we've become so addicted to ease and comfort that we've got a culture that has created "exit strategy" saints... As humans we tend to think of any negative circumstance or painful situation as punitive. It is part of our nature to view these times with a “why me?” or “what's the quickest way to end it” mindset. There is no trial that we cannot benefit from. Adversity comes into your life, but God has a purpose for you. His primary aim is that you grow spiritually continuously your entire life.In this episode of Keep It 100, we have a transparent REAL TALK moment about the hard places, open up about our adversities, and highlight the glorious outcome Heaven has for you.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
While many are aware of the instrumentality and influence of Social Media, few pay attention to the seduction of this ubiquitous form of communication. Many mental health experts have warned of its downside potential, while the adverse effects are seen all around us. Social Media is amoral, it is neither moral nor immoral...meaning it just depends how it's used and what is the message set before us.In this episode of Keep It 100, we talk about the seduction of Social Media, give principles that will empower you and have a pivotal conversation with Jason Mayfield, who has unexpectedly blown up on this medium.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
Many are harboring an unusual sense that God is going to do something seismic very soon. Many believers are sensing a "perfect storm" is coming... A perfect storm is not a film or the book, but it is a rare combination of circumstances that aggravate a situation drastically and dynamically. A perfect storm is a scenario where there is a tipping point that results in events of unusual magnitude.A move of God is simply God moving people through assignments which births events called Revivals. Kingdom advancement is territorial and personal and not just ideological. The value system of the kingdom must translate from you and be reflected in your territory and region. In this episode of Keep It 100, we talk about what are the early indicators that a move might be coming your way and then have an incredible conversation with Mark Francey of Oceans Church about the record-setting baptisms that took place, picking up where the "Jesus Revolutionaries" left off.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
From the opening of the Olympic Ceremonies to the Internet to the mindset of Modern Culture...mockery seems to be in fashion and has a seat at the table of mainstream society.Mockery has been around throughout human history, but in recent times it seems to have become increasingly common to mock personalities, authority figures, morality—and even God, the Bible, and faith in general. We have all likely witnessed actors, talk show hosts, celebrities, comedians, educators, students, politicians, and many others openly mock anyone who professes belief in God, Jesus Christ, or any part of the Bible. Yet, all the while proclaiming how tolerant they are and how intolerant Christianity is.In this episode of Keep It 100, we have a conversation about the modern trend of people mocking Christianity, why the Olympic fiasco was bigger than a performance, and how to respond when facing a mocking spirit.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries

Few things strike fear in the hearts of students as much as tests, especially when knowing they will determine their future. Test anxiety aside, quizzes and tests can help people apprehend a subject matter or key principles. Spiritual tests are important for multiple reasons, as they play a significant role in personal growth, self-awareness, spiritual development, alignment with a higher purpose, and prepare us for the future. In this episode of Keep It 100, we discuss what are the Three Tests that the Body of Christ is being examined on in this season and what might be the overarching purpose for it all.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
We live in a day where there is a great cry for coaches, consultants, advisors, trainers, and mentors. So many people feel either ill-equipped or under-trained in areas where they want tangible growth. This is no different in the Church and amongst an emerging generation of God-summoned believers.Mentorship from Heaven's perspective is a relational process in which a more experienced Christian helps a less experienced Christian grow in their faith, character, and spiritual maturity. In the Bible, Moses raised up a Joshua to take his place, but Joshua failed in that part and there arose a generation that did not know God. It is imperative that we reproduce our faith in the lives of others. This discipleship dynamic is crucial to the advancement of the Kingdom and indispensable in the personal and spiritual growth of a Christ follower. In this episode of Keep It 100, we give some insight into what we've walked through on this subject and then we finish the podcast with a wisdom window from Pastor Leader Gary Grogan.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries

Anything can be divisive these days...It seems like our culture right now is kind of getting addicted to divisiveness...It's become part of our collective identity. It's been said that, "Anger is an emotional state characterized by feelings of intense displeasure, annoyance, or hostility". It is a natural response to perceived threats, injustices, or frustrations. In this episode of Keep It 100, we have a crucial conversation on the subject of anger and share some principles to both recognize it, reconcile it and resolve it.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
Prayer is considered the backbone of any revival. It is through prayer that individuals and communities launch into a deeper connection with God, repent for their shortcomings, and ask for spiritual renewal. This catalytic seeking often precedes and sparks revival.Historical examples, such as the First and Second Great Awakenings, the Welsh Revival, and the Azusa Street Revival, illustrate how prayer was central to these movements. In each case, intense and sustained prayer preceded and accompanied the revival, underscoring its pivotal role.In this episode of KEEP IT 1OO we have a critical conversation with Author Evangelist Joe Oden of this pivotal topic and hear about his latest book "Prayer That Ignites Revival".Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
The prevalence of insecurities today is a complex topic influenced by various factors including societal norms, cultural expectations, individual experiences, and technological advancements. Statistics bear witness that insecurities are widespread and can affect people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.Insecurities can manifest in different forms, such as body image concerns, fear of failure, social anxiety, imposter syndrome, and more. Social media, for example, has been associated with increased feelings of inadequacy and comparison, as people often curate idealized versions of their lives online, leading others to feel they fall short in comparison. In this episode of Keep It 100, we have a raw and real conversation on insecurities and give some principles that will bring freedom and healing to your struggle.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
Vulnerability is our Superpower...In our culture today, vulnerability and authenticity are regarded as VALUED attributes. I think they are considered such because they are rarely found. Being vulnerable is both freeing and terrifying. Freeing in that you no longer carry the emotions of whatever is going on by yourself, but terrifying because it's possible that whoever you share those emotions with might not be able to help you carry those emotions and may reject you. There is a hunger for truth and honesty in a world filled with highlight reels and fake news. Facing our fears, wrestling with our worries, and sharing our struggles can help us fulfill our destiny and change our World. In this episode of Keep It 100, we have a conversation on VULNERABILITY and keeping it real, we also give personal insights, principles, and stories to INSPIRE YOU!Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
How many people say they believe but then hide their faith from certain areas of, people in, or times during their life? You may read your Bible, but you don't express your faith in school or work, because you don't want to be known as the “Jesus freak”. You pray, but there are certain people in your life, who you don't ever mention Jesus to because you don't want them to see you in that identity. Or you'll be all about Jesus in the privacy of your home, but the outside world would have no clue you're a follower of Christ. In a culture that is heavy with shame and guilt over what we do or do not do, our past mistakes and failures, what we look like, and more, being unashamed is sort of an eye-opening concept. What does that even look like? Is it truly possible to be completely unashamed, much less unapologetically unashamed? In this episode of Keep It 100, we have an inciting and inspiring conversation with Pastor Russell Johnson of The Pursuit in the Seattle area, about one of the most important discoveries for any World Shaker!Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
Wickedness is gradually becoming a regular thing in our society, so the art of controlling people against their will through witchcraft is also on the increase. Witchcraft is one of the devices in the dark world that the devil empowers to carry out his mission of directing dark forces against God's creation. From the book of Genesis onward, Satan has been on a mission to restrain women from fulfilling her destiny as a co-heir and co-laborer with Christ. Yes, she is different and unique, yet in Christ, she is qualified to rise up and boldly release the authority of Heaven on earth. It's only when this mandate is fully restored and its expression is encouraged in the church that we will begin to see Holy Spirit outpouring demonstrated in a more complete and dynamic way. As long as women are restrained from preaching and prophesying, biblically speaking, we are only going to experience a trickle of revival when God wills a river. In this episode of Keep It 100, we have an inspiring and potentially life- changing talk with author, reformer and Momma Bear Jenny Donnelly.Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries

As Humans, we gravitate toward the beautiful, and we find all kinds of ways to enjoy, create, and even market beauty. Take a look at magazine covers, popular Instagram accounts, travel blogs, art exhibits and performances, craft websites, or famous tourist spots around the world, and you are likely to find one thing in common: beauty. The fashion and beauty industries generate billions of dollars of revenue each year for a very good reason: we not only want beauty in our lives, but we also want to be beautiful.God also loves beauty, as Thomas Aquinas asserts, God “is beauty itself”. "The spiritual exercise of making decrees finds its precedent in both Old and New Testaments --the practice means simply quoting God's promises back to him, "reminding" him of what he has said. This kind of prayer is one of the most vital forms of intercession. In fact, the practice of decreeing God's Word not only builds our faith but transforms our lives. Job 22:28 states, "You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways." Leadership involves various skills, traits, and behaviors that individuals employ to effectively lead and manage a people...and on top of that 'Spiritual Leadership' is even more crucial and challenging in this hour. The major crisis of our day is the crisis of leadership and without godly leadership, there is a scattering that will leave a void that darkness fills. In this episode of KEEP IT 100, we have a deep, forthright and profound conversation with church planter, author and prophetic leader Sherman Dumas."website: www.seanandchristasmith.cominstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesComing Soon: MOMENTUM CONFERENCE - Jan 18-20, 2024
"When spiritual leaders fall from grace, it can have significant and far-reaching consequences for both their followers and the broader community. Spiritual leaders are often held to high moral and ethical standards, and their actions can deeply impact the trust and faith that people place in them. The fallout from the fall of a spiritual leader can extend beyond the immediate community to impact the reputation of the broader faith or spiritual tradition. This can lead to skepticism and distrust from those outside the community. In this episode of Keep It 100, we have an authentic conversation on "Moral Failures" of leaders and how to process the scenario and navigate the disappointment well."Website: www.seanandchristasmith.comInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministriesReplyReply AllForwardEdit as new
" Many cultures throughout history have attached profound spiritual and cultural significance to dreams. Dreams have inspired countless works of literature, art, and film. Dreams are a common part of the human experience, and they have been the subject of much study and speculation throughout history. They have often been viewed as messages from the Divine and sources of guidance.Dreams in Scriptures have often been a means of divine communication. God uses dreams to convey messages, guidance, and revelations to individuals. In the Old Testament, God spoke to figures like Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph through dreams, providing them with important instructions and insights. biblical narratives are inspired by dreams and visions.Even in the story of Joseph, once he had a God dream, his brothers thought to kill him and enslave the dream and the dreamer. Likewise today, perhaps the greatest threat to Divine dreams is a "Religious Spirit".In this episode of Keep it 100, we talk about the prophetic significance of dreams and have a conversation with The Altar Global movement's founder Jeremiah Johnson.website: www.seanandchristasmith.cominstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithYouTube:: https://www.youtube.com/@seanandchristasmithministriesFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministries
Why do many Christians put such a great emphasis on Israel? What makes Israel more significant from a biblical worldview than from a current mindset? "If you're like me, you've often wondered why the Church places such an importance on “standing with Israel.” You've probably even seen some believers seeming "a little bit out of balance" in how they act, out of appreciation for Israel and the Jewish culture. Rather than just showing allegiance to Israel ,without knowing why, it's important to get God's heart for Israel and to understand her Biblical importance, to us as individuals. In this episode of Keep It 100, we have a conversation and share from a biblical perspective what God has said concerning Israel, the battle over the strip of land and their place in the prophetic storyline."website :www.seanandchristasmith.conminstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithfacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
"A few years ago, historian John Lukacs spoke on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts. While there Lukacs was interviewed by ENC professors and said the following about language:"Language is a very mysterious gift from God. In the beginning was the Word. Not the Fact. Not the Picture. Not the Number. Not the Image. It is through words that we relate to each other. It is through words that we can give pain or pleasure to each other. And because of this -- and every historian worth his salt ought to know this -- the choice of the word is not only a matter of accuracy, not only an aesthetic choice, it is a moral choice."Today, we are witnessing an increasing vulgarity becoming mainstream in our modern vernacular. We have always had "cuss words' ', but now we are seeing a justification of it in certain circles of Christianity and even some pulpits. The Bible is pretty clear about the choice of our words and unclean words coming out of our mouths. So, instead of asking, “Can I say bad words without sinning,” we should ask, “Are my words reflecting the Holy Spirit's transforming work in my life?”In this episode of Keep it 100, we talk about this topic and have a conversation with Pastor of Hungry Gen Church and Author Vlad Savchuk.website: www.seanandchristasmith.comfacebook: @seanandchristsmithministriesinstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmith
We are all created to CONNECT WITH GOD, and we are all created for relationship with Him. We are NOT GUESTS in the house of God. We are a family at the table of the Lord. Moses walked in some incredible miracles, but maybe his greatest contribution to the faith might have been his cry to experience the Glory. He experienced things that would have satisfied lesser followers, but he understood something vital to the faith. He kept it VERTICAL amidst a people that seemed trapped in the Horizontal. “Vertical” Christianity makes a connection between the individual and the Holy – from you to God. “Horizontal” Christianity makes a connection between the individual and everything and everyone around you. In this episode of Keep It 100, we continue the conversation about living that Vertical Life and why lapsing into a horizontal faith could have damaging effects that might be going undetected. website: www.seanandchristasmith.com Instagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmith facebook: @seanandchristasmithministries YouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
Sometimes similar to Mary and Joseph (in Luke 2:41-46), we can lose Jesus in Church! Certain horizontal dogma and dimensions can cloud us from the VERTICAL FOCUS and from an undistracted gaze upon Heaven. “Vertical” Christianity makes a connection between the individual and the Holy – from you to God. “Horizontal” Christianity makes a connection between the individual and everything and everyone around you. Many contemporary worship expressions tend to be horizontal, building on community and actively engaging everyone in common human interests. Songs that are used in horizontal worship don't talk about “Him” or “The Eternal”, they talk about “we” and “us”. The Holy may not be treated as a desired connection to be sought by each individual, but instead center on our earthly interests. While we need both, the VERTICAL is to be established first and prioritized (Matt 6:33). Have we gotten so Horizontal that our individual walk and corporate expressions fail to get "the lift" and the LIFE of Christ in its fullness? In this episode of Keep It 100, we talk about this subject and have a conversation with Gospel Artist and Worshipper, Heath King. website: www.seanandchristasmith.com Instagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmith facebook: @seanandchristasmithministries YouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
