Lisa is regularly asked many questions about a life “sans alcohol”, and she embraces the interest with a passion that enables her to authentically demonstrate that her rockbottom has made her a rockstar! As the face of “CHOOSE YOUR SOBER”, a term which she coined to highlight that sobriety is a spectrum, this highly sought after speaker, sober coach, health & fitness consultant, columnist and founder of SOBEROBICS, Lisa G loves sharing her real life stories and happiness hacks of inspiration, connection, and overcoming self-doubt through enhanced self-love, self-belief and self-worth. She's especially passionate about inspiring and empowering women to increase the awareness of their relationship with alcohol and to stop viewing it through the lens of a “magic fix-all elixir.”Lisa calls herself a “Choose Chick” as she believes choice is a super power we all have but forget to use - we are all just one choice away from a more amazing life and she chooses life every day with passion, purpose, love, laughter and sensational sobriety. Lisa is adamant that happy is a verb rather than a noun, and she “does happy” every day, and encourages everyone to “do happy” daily. She is the founder, owner and Managing Director of “Lisa G” a bespoke health, fitness and wellness consultancy based in Sydney where she inspires clients to develop resiliency and self-esteem, muscle and movement, health and happiness, fitness and fun, and live as a limitless version of themselves with a sober curious awareness. Lisa has also established a Youtube Channel (100 Days to Happy Healthy and Hot) inspiring hundreds of men and women to find fitness in their homes, thus amplifying her message that muscle and movement are magic, and for everyone!Lisa holds a Bachelor of Sports Science degree from the University of NSW. “We all have the inherent power to change and improve ourselves but sometimes it takes belief in someone else, and seeing their story from broken to brilliant, to bring that power to the surface. I've lived in the hopeless despair of active addiction, where my self esteem, self love and self worth were non-existent. Where I thought a life without alcohol was not only abhorrent, but impossible. Now I live a vital and sober life full of clarity, freedom, joy, connection and fun. I DO HAPPY authentically every day. And I believe that we all have the ability to live this way. In fact, it's not just an ability, it's a choice and a privilege, and one that I have phenomenal gratitude and appreciation for every day. If you are suffering, not living an optimal life and think there is no way out and the situation is hopeless don't despair! You don't have to go to the depths that I did. The choice of change is available to EVERYONE! If you're on the wrong path and need to “course correct”, all it takes is a little bit of willingness, honesty and commitment and the life of your dreams will be yours today and forever” (Lisa G) Hosted on Acast. A litte bit about Gerogia Irvine, my guest on this episode. In her own words.... I am a wife to an amazing man and my biggest cheerleader, Jamie, mum to an awesome, crazy and super fun son, Ryder and a beautiful, strong, calming daughter, Rio. They inspire me to be the best version I could possibly be. I have been on this rollercoaster of a thing called life for 40 plus years now, and here I am, living out my dreams of Health and Wellness Coaching, Sobriety coaching, and a touch of personal styling services thrown in there too. I continue to learn and grow through self-development and my own behaviours and choices, which allow me to show up as the best version of myself each day. It's a pretty cool feeling. My coaching success comes from not only my official training but also my own life experiences of behavioural change around sobriety, weight loss, nutrition, exercise, gratitude, and boundary setting. I also take great pride in setting a relaxed vibe for my clients while keeping it professional, treating each person as unique, holding a non-judgemental space, and most of all, my strong passion to empower women to “rock it”, one choice at a time.My other passion is getting my butt up early to exercise every day and to watch the sunrise, I treat this as my non-negotiable therapy sesh. I find it gives me a huge confidence boost and makes me a calmer, energetic and happier mum and wife. My other love is summertime on the river with my beautiful family and friends skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and most importantly, finishing off the day with a very cool ritual of chats over some yummy cheese, sweet treats, kombucha………and maybe even some hot fries too! Hustler-preneur(noun) A #girlboss who organises and manages one or more enterprises with initiative, class and lipstick.Just reading Yasmin's CV is overhwleming for an introvert like myself, she is a gogetter. I'll let her tell you a little bit about what she does and then listen to our chat where she tells me exactly how many drinks she has consumed as a adult.Yamins says:As a small business owner, I understand that most small business owners couldn't afford to set up shop in a major shopping centre, so I created a platform for these entrepreneurs to split the costs. The Market Hub Perth is a pop up shop that stocks locally owned and operated products. Vendors pay for their portion of space which covers staff fees too. And the best part about it, they keep 100% of their sales ingraining the mentality of #suportlocal. In this chat we talk about soul alignment (yep, we go there), going against the grain and we wear busy as a badge of honour. And because I wasn't busy enough, my husband and I have invested in KMD Books, a publishing house based in Perth dedicated to supporting aspiring authors and thought leaders. I then developed the children's book division - Little K Books. I teamed up with my sister and high school friend to open We Gather Studio - a wellness centre offering a variety of services to support feminine energy through creativity, spirituality, movement and motherhood. Within this space I operate a 3D baby ultrasound clinic called The Bub Society. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
