You think you're building a company that's ready for investment or acquisition. Your revenue is growing. Customers are happy. The future looks promising. But what if the very things you're overlooking are quietly destroying your valuation?   In this episode of WholeCEO with Lisa G., Lisa sits down with operator and transformation expert Mark Sims to reveal the hidden factors that separate companies that command premium valuations from those that struggle to get deals across the finish line.   You'll discover: ·        Why founders often misunderstand what buyers are truly evaluating. ·        The subtle warning signs that a deal is beginning to unravel during diligence. ·        The operational weaknesses that create concern even when growth looks impressive. ·        How technology debt and outdated systems can significantly impact enterprise value. ·        What successful post-acquisition integrations have in common—and why others fail. ·        The first areas Mark would audit if a company plans to exit within the next three years. ·        The risks leadership teams unintentionally create without realizing it. ·        Why AI is rapidly becoming part of the diligence conversation and changing buyer expectations. ·        The one thing founders should stop obsessing over and the one thing they should prioritize to maximize value. ·        The advice Mark repeatedly gives CEOs preparing for growth, investment, or a future exit.   This isn't just a conversation about selling a company. It's a masterclass on building an organization that is operationally strong, scalable, and attractive to investors long before a deal is on the table.

What if the very thing that helped you succeed is now holding you back? In this episode of the WholeCEO Podcast, Lisa G. sits down with entrepreneur, investor, and startup builder Safeer Qureshi to challenge one of the most common assumptions in business: that being smart is the key to success. Safeer explains why intelligence can sometimes become a founder's biggest obstacle, leading to overthinking, analysis paralysis, and missed opportunities. Drawing from his experience launching his first business at just 14 years old and investing in high-potential founders, he shares practical lessons on entrepreneurship, execution, hiring exceptional talent, and recognizing opportunities others overlook. You'll discover: • Why being "smart" can slow down startup success • The entrepreneurial lessons Safeer learned at age 14 • How investors identify underdogs with massive potential • Real examples of "stupid" ideas that became big successes • How to test business ideas quickly without wasting months building the wrong thing • Why the best founders surround themselves with people smarter than themselves • Advice for aspiring entrepreneurs who feel unqualified to start Whether you're a founder, CEO, investor, or someone sitting on an idea you've been afraid to pursue, this conversation offers a refreshing perspective on what it really takes to build something meaningful. Listen now and learn why action often beats intelligence, and why your greatest advantage may not be what you think. #WholeCEO #Entrepreneurship #Startups #Leadership #Innovation #BusinessGrowth #FounderMindset #VentureCapital #StartupAdvice #BusinessPodcast

With more than 25 years of experience in enterprise technology and business transformation, Phillip has built the frameworks and playbooks that help executive teams do what most AI rollouts skip entirely: align their people, culture, and governance before the tools ever get deployed.   His book, Harnessing the Power of AI: A Roadmap for Successful Leadership, makes an argument that every leader needs to hear right now. AI adoption is not a technology decision. It is a leadership test.   We go deep on: . Why leaders, not tools, are the real constraint in AI transformation right now . How to talk about displacement and workforce development in a way that reduces fear without dismissing it . Most leaders think their biggest problem is delegation. But what if delegation was never the real issue? In this powerful episode, Lisa GoldenthaL breaks down why so many founders, CEOs, and senior leaders stay trapped in operational chaos even after following every leadership and productivity framework they were taught. You will discover why tasks keep boomeranging back to you, why your team still depends on your approval, and why scaling becomes impossible when the leader remains the company's operating system. Lisa G. explains the critical shift from delegating tasks to architecting outcomes — and why sustainable growth only happens when businesses are built on leadership systems, emotional regulation, accountability, and decision-making structures that function without constant founder intervention. Inside this episode: • Why traditional delegation advice keeps failing • The hidden reason your team escalates everything back to you • The difference between managers and true leadership architects • How to stop becoming the bottleneck in your business • What companies need to scale beyond founder dependency • The leadership operating system every growing business requires If you are exhausted from carrying the weight of every decision, solving every emergency, and being the glue holding everything together, this conversation will change how you lead forever. Listen now and learn how to stop managing the chaos — and start architecting a business that can scale without you at the center of it.

What if the most important leadership skill in the age of AI has nothing to do with technology? In this episode of WholeCEO with Lisa G., host Lisa G. sits down with globally recognized advisor Charlene Li—who has worked with 49 of the Fortune 100, spoken at the World Economic Forum, TED, and South by Southwest—to unpack what it really takes to win in an AI-driven world. Her latest book, Winning with AI: The 90-Day Blueprint for Success, challenges a common assumption at the top: that AI success is about tools. Instead, it's about leadership, behavior, and distinctly human capabilities. Together, they explore why most AI initiatives stall, why "pilot mode" has become a corporate trap, and why the real differentiator isn't technical sophistication—it's human clarity, courage, and decision-making. In this conversation, you'll hear: Why the leaders succeeding with AI aren't necessarily the ones with the best technology The human skills that become more valuable—not less—as AI handles more cognitive work Why so many organizations stay stuck in endless pilots that never scale What CEOs must do differently this week—not this quarter—to break through inertia If you're a leader wondering where you still add value in an AI-accelerated world, this conversation reframes the question entirely—and points you toward the answer.

If you've ever felt frustrated by a team that "gets it" but doesn't execute, this conversation will challenge everything you assume about motivation, accountability, and leadership. We go beyond surface-level advice and into what's actually happening inside the brain: Why "lack of motivation" is often a misdiagnosis What's really driving resistance to change at a neurological level Why willpower isn't the lever you should be pulling And what leaders should focus on instead to create real, lasting behavior change Dr. O'Brien also shares a practical, immediately applicable shift that CEOs and senior leaders can use to start working with the brain—not against it—so change actually sticks. If you're leading a team, scaling a business, or trying to create consistent execution, this episode will give you a completely different lens on performance and behavior.

In this episode of the WholeCEO Podcast, Lisa G. sits down with Philip Botha to unpack why so many leadership programs create short-term insight—but rarely produce lasting, behavioral transformation. Together, they explore what really drives monumental change in leaders: how neural pathways are formed and rewired, why emotional regulation is a leadership capability (not a soft skill), and how values—not tactics—shape decision-making, trust, and culture over time. This conversation goes beyond performance hacks and into the internal architecture of leadership. You'll hear why alignment between personal values and organizational values is critical for sustainable growth, how authenticity impacts culture at scale, and why leaders who ignore emotional development often hit invisible ceilings—no matter how talented they are. If you're a CEO, founder, or senior leader who's invested in growth but frustrated by stalled change—this episode will challenge how you think about leadership development entirely. In this episode, we cover: 1-Why traditional leadership development fails to create lasting change 2-How neural pathways influence behavior, habits, and leadership patterns 3-The role of emotional regulation in trust, judgment, and decision quality 4-Values alignment as the foundation of authentic leadership 5-How personal growth directly shapes organizational culture 6-Building trust and psychological safety through emotional awareness   This episode is for leaders who want real change—not just better ideas.

Sébastien Page: What Happens When The Quietest Leaders Are Actually Winning Now

What if the leaders shaping the future aren't the loudest in the room? On this episode of the WholeCEO Podcast, host Lisa G. sits down with Sébastien Page to challenge one of business's most persistent myths: that great leadership requires charisma, volume, and constant visibility. They explore why introverted leaders are increasingly outperforming their more extroverted counterparts—especially in complex, high-stakes environments where clarity, judgment, and signal detection matter more than presence. This conversation reframes how we evaluate leadership potential and success in today's volatile landscape. Sébastien shares research-backed insights and real-world examples of leaders who didn't win by becoming louder—but by leaning fully into how they think, decide, and execute. You'll learn: • Why the business world has historically rewarded extroversion over effectiveness • Which quiet leadership behaviors consistently outperform charismatic leadership under pressure • A real example of an introverted leader who scaled impact without changing their personality • The signals boards, investors, and senior teams should watch for when identifying high-potential leaders beyond the obvious voices If you're a CEO, founder, board member, or senior leader questioning traditional leadership models—or if you've ever felt underestimated because you lead quietly—this episode will change how you see power, performance, and influence.

In this punchy, no-nonsense episode of WholeCEO with Lisa G., Lisa drops the leadership truth bomb most executives avoid: people don't leave companies — they leave leadership energy leaks.   With Gallup reporting that 70% of turnover ties back to leadership behavior, Lisa brings in someone who sees it all from the inside: executive recruiter Mitch McDermott. After years of hearing the real reasons top performers quit, Mitch breaks down the emotional, energetic, and behavioral patterns behind today's talent exodus.   Inside this conversation, you'll learn: 1-Why EQ + energy beat perks every time — and how "energy leaks" quietly push high performers out. 2-Why people don't quit paychecks — they quit pressure, misalignment, and emotional exhaustion. 3-The misunderstood leadership behaviors that quietly destroy retention. 4-How the BOSS Method™ (Boost EQ, Optimize Energy, Strengthen Mindset, Self-Leadership) solves turnover at the root — not the surface. 5-Why fixing culture isn't about fun, perks, or branding — it's about presence, emotional intelligence, and real alignment. 6-How leadership transformations create hiring synergy, team stability, and a culture people never want to leave.   If you're a CEO, founder, or HR leader who's tired of losing good people, this episode hits hard — and hands you the roadmap. Empathy can't be automated. Presence can't be delegated. Leaders who win in 2026 will be the ones people choose to stay for.
