    The Teacher Who Taught Herself to Heal: Beth's Inspiring Migraine Story

    Welcome to today's Success Spotlight episode of Migraine Freedom™ Your Way, where you get a break from me talking to hear from women like you who have overcome the challenges of migraines.  This week, we're diving into Beth's story—a science teacher, a lifelong learner, and someone who knows firsthand what it's like to battle chronic migraines. Beth has been teaching science for 28+ years, but despite her sharp understanding of biology, she faced a migraine struggle that seemed impossible to overcome.  Like many women in perimenopause—where the average woman is juggling seven medications—Beth found herself caught in the cycle of prescriptions, monthly injections, Botox treatments, and endless neurologist visits. At one point, her migraines had reached a staggering 22 days per month. After enduring a grueling 17-day migraine earlier this year, Beth knew something had to change. That's when she turned to the Freedom From Migraines Method® program.  At first, she hesitated because she had already spent so much on treatments that hadn't worked. But as a biology teacher, when we started talking about inflammation and the sodium potassium pump, topics she covers in her AP Bio class,  Beth immediately connected with the science behind the program, which offered a perspective she hadn't heard before.     Digesting the Truth: The Role of Acid Reflux in Migraine

    Have you ever wondered if that spicy taco you regretted eating not only set your throat on fire but also had a hand in your migraine?  The gut and brain are in constant communication via nerves, hormones, and our immune system. Good gut health is essential for overall well-being. When something's off, like stress in the brain or troubles in the gut, this communication can be disrupted.  So, if you've got GERD, it might cause headaches and vice versa.  People with migraines often have more acid reflux than those without, and resolving acid problems can cut down on headaches for many.     Confession: I am NOT an exercise fan, and I've struggled over the years to stick to a daily routine. After my adolescent years and as I became a mom, it became harder and harder to make time for exercise. Then, in my 30s, I had a sense that I should be moving more and feeling terrible just wasn't normal. Fast-forward to my 40s and now, 50s, and I have found exercise routines that I enjoy, that keep me motivated, and that help me feel my best. In this episode, we're diving into all things exercise and the solution you may never have thought would help your headaches.    In this episode, you'll hear: My personal exercise confession.
