Expect a summer festival with a difference as some of the nation's favourite comics turn curators and host a virtual festival featuring their favourite performers from the worlds of comedy, literature and spoken word. They'll be in control of everything (even the weather) as we're taken along for the ride to not only hear some great performances but also to get an insight into the cultural radars of our celebrity hosts. In episode 1, Miles Jupp is our host as he takes us around his bespoke festival site to meet Val McDermid in the literary tent, Abandoman on the music stage and TMS' very own Alison Mitchell in the Cricket Tent (of course there's a cricket tent, it's Miles Jupp we're talking about). Paul Sinha also attempts to run a quiz in the Trivia Tent and stand-up legend Simon Munnery entertains from a field. This week we're joined by the superbly talented Rob Broderick of Abandoman to improvise some of the cassette tapes that have inspired him. http://www.abandoman.com/ You can listen LIVE and be a part of the show by sending us your tapes to improvise, every Sunday at 4pm on Roundhouse Radio: http://www.roundhouse.org.uk/radio/player/ Played Up is the improvised archive show where the tapes don’t exist yet! Each week a special guest shares their collection of cassette tapes, which are then brought to life by The RH Experience. www.youtube.com/therhexperience www.twitter.com/therhexperience www.facebook.com/rhexperience

Rob Broderick is a multi-award winning comedian and phenomenally talented freestyle comedy rapper. Rob performs with James Hancox as 'Abandoman' and in February 2013, their debut performance in Australia won them a Best Comedy nomination and a Best Newcomer award at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Abandoman supported the multi-platinum artist Ed Sheeran on his sell-out UK tour, culminating in two nights at London's Brixton Academy. They have appeared on BBC3′s Live at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, BBC2′s The Stephen K Amos Show, Sky Arts Latitude coverage and various radio shows, including BBC Radio 1′s Fun And Filthy Cabaret. They have stormed numerous festivals such as Bestival, Latitude, Altitude, Rockness, Glastonbury, Hop Farm and V Festival, they have opened for several comedy and music acts such as Micky Flanagan, Tommy Tiernan and DJ Yoda, performed at the 2010 Brits after-party and hosted the 2012 St. Patricks Day event in Trafalgar Square, entertaining 10,000 St Paddy’s Day revellers! After several years cutting a truly original path between rap music and comedy, Abandoman will be innovating mixtape mash-ups and futuristic jams live on stage, using the history of hip-hop as their blueprint and you as their inspiration. From Kanye to Jay Z, from country to funk, this show will contain musical, lyrical and comical scenes of a seriously awesome nature. The show is more mind blowing, interactive, word bending lyrical genius from Ireland’s top comedy hip hop improv team. Following a total sell-out Fringe in 2012, Abandoman performs this year as a full live band and Moon Rock Boombox will be their biggest ever run, verifying their ever-growing status as one of comedy’s most esteemed artists. ★★★★★ “For the whole hour we were enthralled by a comedic mastermind at work” BROADWYBABY.COM ★★★★★ “A gloriously uncynical, party-starter of a show” LONDONISFUNNY.COM ★★★★★ “Abandoman’s talent really has to be seen to be believed” GIGGLEBEATS.CO.UK ★★★★ “So clever, quick-witted and audacious” THE SCOTSMAN ★★★★“In short: there are not many shows like Abandoman's… great stuff” CHORTLE ★★★★ “Astounding… well-structured and galvanising” SPOONFED.CO.UK ★★★★ “Impressive and thoroughly entertaining… be prepared for your face to ache from laughing” HAIRLINE.ORG.UK ★★★★ “Superb… very likely someone you will be seeing everywhere in the future” EDINBURGH SPOTLIGHT "Truly innovative" THE GUARDIAN "The most original act we've seen in a long time.
