Audrey May Herron was a 31-year-old nurse and mother of three who disappeared on August 29, 2002, in Catskill, New York. She was last seen leaving her workplace, the Columbia-Greene Long Term Care Facility, after her evening shift. Audrey was driving her black 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which also vanished without a trace. Despite extensive searches and investigations, her case remains unsolved. Case story:Randy Leach, a 17-year-old from Linwood, Kansas, vanished in the early hours of April 16, 1988, after attending a classmate's high school graduation party. Last seen at the event, where approximately 70 to 150 guests were present, Randy's disappearance remains unsolved despite ongoing investigations by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office. Witnesses reported that Randy was intoxicated during the party, some witness account are of Randy potentially being drugged during the party. Allegations have surfaced against the co-founder of Adventures With Purpose, Jared Leisik. Leisek, who was 17 at the time, is facing two counts of first-degree rape of a child. The State of Utah filed criminal charges on Wednesday, Nov. 3 where the crimes were allegedly committed in 1992. Twitter employees up in arms over Elon Musk's email requiring a 40 hour work week. Musk emailed his workers Wednesday to prepare them for “difficult times ahead” and ban remote work unless he personally approved it. Kiely Rodni (16) has been recovered after being missing in Truckee, California for over two weeks.  Kiely was found deceased in her vehicle, in 14 feet of water, very close to where she was last seen alive.  How did police spend thousands of hours searching for her to no avail?   Adventures with Purpose searched the area and found Kiely within minutes.     In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast we discuss the recovery of missing people by volunteer team Adventures with Purpose (AWP). Along with Kiely's case, we discuss the cases of: Ethan Kazmerzak from Iowa.  Ethan was missing for over seven years before AWP found his remains in 2020 inside his vehicle in a pond, near where he was last known to be alive. Samantha Jean Hopper and her 22 month old daughter Courtney Holt disappeared from Russellville, Arkansas on September 11, 1998.  They remained missing for over TWENTY years before AWP pulled the vehicle containing their remains from the Illinois Bayou. Matthew ‘Jed' Hall (16) left a note behind for his family when he left home for the final time in Idaho on January 22, 2018.  It seems that he intended to take his own life.  In May 2022, AWP searched the Snake River in Idaho for Jed, and found his remains in his vehicle, 50 feet from shore. Carey Mae Parker was a 23y/o mother-of-three who vanished in Texas on March 17, 1991.  Carey had been set to attend her son's birthday party when she disappeared.  AWP searched for Carey in 2021, thirty years after she vanished.  The found her vehicle and her remains, along with a bicycle that she had purchased for her son's birthday in Lake Tawakoni. The 16-year-old went missing on August 6, after a graduation party at the Prosser Family Campground near Truckee, California. The northeast Texas mother-of-three disappeared along with her vehicle in early 1991. Until early last year, when a volunteer group called Adventures With Purpose used sonar to locate her car in Lake Tawakoni. They found human remains last October. Parker's children announced in late May that authorities matched the remains to family D-N-A. Now the Hunt County Sheriff's Office is closing its missing person case. It says the University of North Texas Health Science Center for Human Identification in Fort Worth sent investigators a report confirming the remains were those of Parker. Adventures With Purpose founder Jared Leisek says his group is grateful to Sheriff Terry Jones for trusting them to recover Parker's car and remains.And an obituary published this week describes Parker as a “strong-willed, free-spirited woman who enjoyed spending time on the lake and night driving with her kiddos.” They plan to hold a private service next week in Wills Point.

On this episode of DTW, Brian sits down with Doug Bishop from Adventures With Purpose to discuss the fantastic movement he is apart of and how he became involved with it. Adventures With Purpose was initially created by Doug's Friend and Business Partner Jared Leisek as an Environmental Cleanup effort but has since transitioned itself into a Search and Recovery team for missing individuals around the country. Since 2019, they have successfully solved 26 Cold Cases and removed over 100 Vehicles from the water. As a result of their success they have been able to amass an incredible following. They are quickly approaching 2 million YouTube subscribers and have many more followers across other platforms. It was great getting a chance to talk with Doug about all of the great work that is being done through AWP and getting to see what is next in store for them. The Oregon-based group Adventures With Purpose located parts of Carey Mae Parker's car during its first search at Lake Tawakoni in February.  On Friday, the group might have found remains of Carey Mae Parker herself.  Founder Jared Leisek confirmed late Friday that his team found human remains in a debris pile from Parker's car near a causeway on the lake's Waco Bay.  The dive group located Parker's 1980 Buick Skylark in February and brought parts of it to the surface. Later searches by Department of Public Safety divers were unsuccessful, and Leisek's group agreed to return this fall with different equipment.  According to a Parker's sister, Patricia Gager, in a Facebook post, the divers retrieved a pelvis bone. Parker fractured her pelvis in an accident years before she went missing in 1991. That injury may prove useful in identifying any possible remains.  The Hunt County sheriff's office didn't immediately return calls late Friday.  But Leisek and Parker's family say they'll all be back tomorrow to finish the search.  For KETR News, I'm George Hale in Bloomington, Indiana.
