Anna has an eight-year-old son Enzo and a four-year-old daughter Eleonora. We talked about her very traumatic birth and postnatal period with her son and how she prepared to protect her mental health after she had her daughter, including banning family visits in the two weeks after her second birth. I love dating! But I'll be the first to say that sometimes it's long. It's Mary here and luckily, I heard that in 2024 it could be different… The dating app Bumble has surveyed thousands of its users about how they date. And it looks like we're moving towards more openness, less judgement when it comes to dating. I invited Channel 4's Celebs Go Dating agent, Anna Williamson to go through the results. She's also got loads of advice for you on this too. We chat about vulnerability, being on the same page and communication. Plus I speak to ‘perfectionism' psychologist Thomas Curran because we're all about taking steps to be happy with where we are right now. What do you think dating will be like in 2024? Welcome to Episode 18 of the One Small Change Podcast. On today's show, we have Anna Williamson – a celebrated TV and radio broadcaster, No1 best-selling author, podcaster, life coach, and Master NLP practitioner. Anna is an absolutely fascinating individual who after already having a successful career on national TV on ITV, Nickelodeon, and the Disney channel, was behind the scenes struggling herself with such severe anxiety that she was one day unable to continue filming. Her story is one of incredible strength – taking this diagnosis not as a career finisher but as a career starter and wanting to help others in the same situation - Anna trained as a certified counselor, life coach, and master NLP practitioner. Since then Anna has gone from strength to strength and has become a mainstay of national TV and radio – like a few of our previous guests Anna is one of the hosts of Celebs go dating. She is a celebrated author with books on managing anxiety and also managing to parent, as well as hosting two top podcasts and a radio show. I've been very open with my own struggles with anxiety over the years and it's one of the reasons the discussion on mental health is so important to me so this was a really great deep dive on the topic!

It’s the end of the series – and a Christmas special – with the brilliant Anna Williamson as my guest, talking about how to look after our mental health at the busiest time of the year.Anna is a TV presenter (catch her on the new series of Celebs Go Dating on Channel 4), podcaster and author. She’s also a qualified life coach and she’s done lots of work around smashing the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Her books – Breaking Mad and Breaking Mum and Dad look at her own experiences of mental health problems and gives solutions and coping methods aplenty. Her podcast Breaking Mum And Dad discusses different aspects of family life and mental health (listen to the episode I recorded with her here).During our chat, Anna talks me through her journey with mental health – from the mental breakdown she had during her 20s when she was in a high pressured job working in kids’ TV and in a bad relationship… to suffering from severe anxiety during pregnancy and the birth of her son. She tells me how she then took control of her mental health during her second pregnancy and the birth of her daughter by requesting an elective caesarean.Anna has loads of great advice on looking after our mental health so if things are feeling a bit hectic and overwhelming right now, this should help.Check out Anna’s books, listen to her podcast and find out more about her life coaching. If you enjoy this episode then please leave a rating or review - and you can subscribe to ensure you don’t miss future episodes. I had the absolute pleasure of catching up both one of my favourite people - Anna Williamson. Anna can be found as the psych/mentor/coach on the latest series of Celebs Go Dating, which this time sees the likes of Kerry Katona, Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks attempt to love. Or at least a fumble in a Wetherspoons. Anna talks a lot of sense and is always great fun.Poor Dani & Sim got lumbered with our rather irritating robot RC.If you enjoy Reality Check, I'd really appreciate both your feedback (on twitter I can be found @jamieeast) and support by leaving a 5 star review and telling your friends. Thanks for listening!Jamie See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sometimes we get so mired in stress, anxiety or wrapped up in our problems, it's hard to remember how to relax. So today I speak to one of the UK's top psychologists all about stress and balance. Anna Williamson used to be a pop band, then was one of the UK's most popular children's TV presenters. It's quite a journey from that to respected psychologist (yes, I just used the J word). She's now the resident psychologist for Big Brother and ITV's This Morning, two of the biggest shows on UK television. Join us as we discuss 'funny mind stuff'. She's had her own problems with anxiety and stress, and she's now all about balance. Anna and I met to record at a venue in Central London - possibly the noisiest hotel in the city. Somehow it doesn't sound too loud on the interview though, thanks partly to some very friendly people we met who talked sotto voce while we recorded.
Is life now like TV? Social media gives everyone an insight into your life, but is this causing, in some cases, more harm than good? More and more people live life like a celebrity, all their personal info, movements and feelings out in the open for judgement, but is this creating pressure, anxiety, and mental health issues? Do you get anxiety or feel pressured by the outside world and people looking in? I discuss this with the amazing Anna Williamson who has been through this herself in her growth as a celebrity. After hitting rock bottom she sought help, and has been better for it ever since, now moving into this work herself. While Anna might be a TV star, she is also a life coach and campaigner for mental health supporting such charities such as Mind. Visit Anna's website: http://lifecoachingbyanna.com
