Danny Cage, owner of the 'Monster Factory', talks about the documentary series streaming on Apple TV+, how the series came about, his first encounter with the Monster Factory, the state of wrestling today and more.
WrestleZone speaks with Danny Cage, Gabby Ortiz, Lucas ‘Twitch' Disangro and David ‘Goldy' Goldschmidt of Monster Factory about the series premiere on Apple TV+, how long the show has been in development, Cage's goals as a trainer, what the cast hopes fans take away from the series and more.
Typically, I set up interviews on my own. I either have to somehow connect with the person on social media, go through a PR company, or send a cold email to hope for the best. This interview isn't that. This is an interview with someone from my home town who knew my parents before I was even born. So this is a very different interview for me, personally. Danny Cage is someone who's The Monster Factory car I've seen at a bar down the street and have heard about for a long time. My step-mother was the one to make the connection so shout out to Megan for that. Danny is on the show today to talk about Monster Factory which is available now on Apply TV+. Check out Dan's review here! Danny Cage is one of the most authentic people I have ever gotten the chance to speak with. He talks from his heart and leads with it in his work and his conversation. As you will see in the show, some people read his personality as someone who may be a bit too forward but to me, it's the best type of person on the planet. It's just something about people from the North East, we say what we think and we will do whatever we can to help others. We talk about our area's deep connection to the wrestling world and why it is. We get into how the show came about and the story of everything that came to be. Danny talks about his stipulation on filming and how it snowballed into something much bigger. Danny Cage also goes out of his way to make sure he talks about the people who helped the show come to be. There is a level of vulnerability in this conversation that I don't typically get to have in interviews for projects as big as a show. Danny Cage talks about how important crying is to being human.
The Monster Factory on Apple TV Plus is a six-episode docu-series that provides an insightful perspective into the world of professional wrestling, featuring an eccentric group of aspiring wrestlers and their passionate coach, Danny Cage. Cage, owner of the Monster Factory Pro Wrestling School, a former wrestler himself turned coach, spoke with M&F about his experience in the pro wrestling industry and offered priceless insights into his coaching approach. Whether you are a fan of wrestling or not, this series offers a compelling look into the complex issues faced by the wrestlers both inside and outside of the ring, such as struggles with confidence, fear, and confronting adversities head-on. Check out the Monster Factory series on AppleTV+ here.

This next guest has been around the block when it comes to world of professional wrestling, in fact he probably even built a few of those blocks along the way. He was actually a teacher for a year before getting into wrestling, but then he certainly traveled around the territory system whether it be with the Poffo's in ICW, working in Continental, Calgary or even in foreign countries across the pond as an antagonizing heel but let's not forget about time in WCW. We also discuss about the good & bad of modern wrestling. However his biggest influence is with training folks the true art of professional wrestling, as he has worked with some now legendary talent such as Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton & many others that went through the OVW system, working with Pat McAfee with his wrestling training, but also doing seminars at school such as with Danny Cage & the Monster Factory. Note: We scheduled the first hour before the news of Pedro's passing broke. We are going to honor him in hour 2. In hour 1 we are going to be joined by East Coast independent wrestler who has been on Ring Of Honor, Greywolf Raventhorne. This big man, who looks like he came out of a "Game Of Thrones" or "Vikings" episode is a graduate of our friend Danny Cage's Monster Factory. We'll talk about developing the character, where he has worked at and what his plans are. When Steve started making calls yesterday after Pedro Morales' passing had been confirmed, the second call he made was to our friend, former WWF Spanish TV head and current AAA announcer and worldwide lucha libre promoter and commentator Hugo Savinovich. Hugo was not only friends with Pedro, he helped him transition from wrestler to broadcaster. As busy as he is, with having flown to Puerto Rico right off of doing AAA in Mexico City Saturday night, Hugo was gracious enough to agree to come on and share stories about his friend. We hope you will enjoy both hours tonight and will listen to both of our shows every week.
