I want to alert you, so you don’t miss out on expert analysis and insider perspectives from my guests who provide tips that can help you uplift the community, improve your financial planning, motivation, or advice on how to be a successful entrepreneur. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Dr. Melanye “Dr. Mac.” Maclin joins Rushion McDonald to discuss the serious health risks associated with hair relaxers, permanent dyes, and synthetic braids—particularly among Black women. Drawing from over 25 years of research and patient experience, she explains how chemicals used in these products absorb through the scalp, disrupt hormones, and significantly increase the risks of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, early puberty, fibroids, and infertility. The conversation also highlights systemic resistance from the beauty industry, government agencies, and even consumers themselves—primarily due to financial incentives and lack of awareness. Dr. Mac advocates for safer hair practices, increased education, and protective measures to reduce exposure. She also discusses her pioneering internal hair‑health supplements, Bella Nutri, for women (2004) and men (2008), and how she helped introduce the U.S. market to nutritional hair support long before it was mainstream. Purpose of the Interview The purpose of the interview is to: 1. Educate listeners about the hidden health dangers …of chemical hair treatments including relaxers, permanent dyes, and synthetic hair containing benzene. 2. Advocate for informed hair‑care decisions Dr. Mac wants women—especially Black women—to understand how beauty practices impact long‑term health. 3. Encourage the beauty industry to adopt safety protocols Such as scalp protection, warning labels, and honest communication about risks. 4. Highlight Dr. Mac’s work and products Including her Bella Nutri supplements and educational platforms (Ask Dr. Mac). 5. Empower parents to protect children By avoiding chemical treatments on young girls whose bodies are especially vulnerable. Key Takeaways 1. Chemical relaxers and permanent hair dyes are strongly linked to increased cancer risks. Permanent dyes raise the risk of breast, uterine, and ovarian cancer. Black women exhibit a 45% increased risk of breast cancer when using permanent dyes. Combining dyes with relaxers significantly compounds the danger. 2. The danger comes from chemical absorption into the scalp. Relaxer chemicals include sodium, calcium, guanine, and lithium hydroxide. These chemicals burn through the scalp, entering the bloodstream and disrupting hormones, leading to early puberty, fibroids, infertility, and cancer. 3. Synthetic braiding hair contains benzene—a carcinogen. Benzene exposure affects both the stylist and the client. Risks include lung cancer and leukemia. 4. The beauty industry resists change because of profit. Salons rarely display warnings because “it affects business.” The relaxer–damage→hair‑loss→extensions cycle creates a lucrative revenue loop. 5. Children are especially vulnerable to chemical exposure. Relaxers on children under 10 can cause: early puberty fibroids infertility early hysterectomies increased cancer risk Dr. Mac advises never relaxing a child’s hair, but if done, the product must stay on no more than 5–10 minutes with complete scalp protection. 6. Scalp protection is essential for anyone still using relaxers. Use petroleum jelly over the entire scalp, not just the hairline. This reduces chemical absorption during both application and rinsing. 7. Dr. Mac pioneered the U.S. hair‑supplement industry. Developed Bella Nutri after research with a Finnish company (Scalp). Initially dismissed as a “witch doctor,” but now the hair‑supplement market is mainstream. 8. She refuses to participate in relaxer‑related lawsuits. Because she has warned people for 20+ years, she cannot ethically testify for those who ignored repeated warnings. Notable Quotes On the impact of chemicals: “The chemicals burn through the scalp… getting into the main bloodstream and causing hormone disruption.” On the increased cancer risk: “African‑Americans have a more than 45% increased risk when we use permanent hair dyes.” On synthetic braids: “As long as that synthetic hair is on her head, she is breathing in benzene.” On industry pushback: “People are about the green‑eyed devil called money.” On relaxing children’s hair: “Hopefully a mother doesn’t take her child to get a relaxer.” “Hair chemicals can lead to early puberty, fibroids, infertility, even hysterectomies before age 40.” On the vicious cycle of damage and profit: “It’s a 360‑degree money‑making cycle.” On caring more than her patients: “I feel like I’m caring more about someone’s health than they are caring about their own.” On pioneering supplements: “Hair and skin are internal organs—they manifest externally.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

TNA Impact on 5/21/26 was a very solid show, folks. Some good wrestling, some good angles, and one segment where The System said “THE SYSTEM” about 9,000 times. Tremendous confidence, maybe too much confidence. Cedric Alexander opened the show with The System, Fabian Aichner stepped up, and things got physical right away. Good start. Then you had Indi Hartwell getting robbed by nonsense at ringside, Matt Hardy beating Vincent in another chapter of this endless war, Mustafa Ali retaining in a fun open challenge against Chazz “Starboy” Hall, Xia Brookside picking up a win in her first TNA match since turning heel, and then Mike Santana and Steve Maclin delivering the best thing on the show in a strong TNA World Title match. In this review, I break down every match, every promo, every ridiculous segment, what worked, what didn't, and why Santana vs. Maclin absolutely delivered. What is up, BRCW family! If you were anywhere near the arena on March 1st, you know the energy was incredible. We're talking about the BRCW Birthday Bash—a night of high stakes, big hits, and even bigger personalities. But today, we're doing something a little different. Our man Falbak was backstage and ringside, catching up with the stars of the show while the adrenaline was still pumping. We've got five exclusive micro-interviews lined up with the heavy hitters: Neil the Heel, Cesar, Maclin, Riddle, and Roma. Now, full disclosure for our English-speaking crew—things got a little heated, and when these guys get passionate, they go back to their roots. Most of these interviews are in Spanish. But honestly? You don't need a translation app to understand the vibe. The intensity, the grit, and the pure post-match emotion transcend the language barrier. Think of it this way—you're going to feel exactly what they're saying even if you didn't pass high school Spanish. So, grab your cafecito, lean in, and listen to the raw sounds of the Birthday Bash.We want to hear from you—who do you think had the best performance of the night? Tonight we're breaking down TNA Impact from March 12, 2026, and folks, this show had some good moments, some strange booking decisions, and one promo that went very uncomfortable very quickly. We kick things off with TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys taking on Sinner & Saint (Travis Williams & Judas Icarus) in a non-title match. The Hardys win after Jeff Hardy locks in his new submission, the “Spinal Destination.”Solid match overall… but here's the question:Why are the tag champions wrestling non-title matches in the first place? And why did Jeff randomly hit a Swanton Bomb after the match was already over?Strange stuff.Next we see Indi Hartwell vs Kelsey Heather (who appears to be enhancement talent). Indi wins quickly with Hurts Don't It, then grabs the microphone and makes it clear she came to TNA for one reason:The Knockouts Championship.Champion Arianna Grace interrupts with Stacks, telling Hartwell she needs to get in line. Then we get a fun six-man tag match:Trey Miguel, Rich Swann & BDE vs Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, John Skylar & Jason Hotch)Trey Miguel picks up the win with Lightning Spiral, but the bigger story is that Mustafa Ali is clearly watching Miguel's TNA International Championship.Steve Maclin then delivers what was advertised as a “contractually obligated apology” to Mike Santana. But instead of apologizing… Maclin launches into a brutal, sarcastic promo that gets very personal. Some of it worked. Some of it went way too far, especially with the repeated references to Santana's family.Elsewhere on the show:• AJ Francis defeated Elijah after interference from Frankie Kazarian• Ricky Sosa defeated Brad Attitude in his TNA debut• Moose vs Cedric Alexander in an Atlanta Street FightThe main event delivered.Moose finished the match with a spear through a table to defeat Cedric Alexander in a strong main event.Overall thoughts? Some solid wrestling, some confusing booking decisions, and a promo that definitely pushed the limits. We break it all down in this review.Visit our website ➡️➡️➡️ https://www.majesticproduction.com/Watch our full podcast here ➡️➡️➡️ anchor.fm/majestic-production

Here’s a structured summary of the interview between Dr. Melanye Maclin and Rushion McDonald: Purpose of the Interview The discussion aimed to educate the audience about the health risks associated with hair care chemicals—including relaxers, dyes, and synthetic hair—and to advocate for safer practices. It also highlighted Dr. Maclin’s pioneering work in hair and skin supplements and her ongoing mission to raise awareness about these issues. Key Takeaways FDA Ban on Hair Chemicals In 2023, the FDA considered banning certain chemicals in hair products due to health risks, but no ban has been implemented yet. These chemicals are linked to breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, and hormone disruption. High-Risk Chemicals Identified Hair Relaxers: Sodium, calcium, guanine, and lithium hydroxide. Hair Dyes: Para-phenylenediamine (especially in permanent dyes). Synthetic Hair: Contains benzene, posing risks of lung cancer and leukemia. Impact on African-American Women African-American women face a 45% higher risk of certain cancers due to combined use of relaxers and dyes. Cultural and aesthetic pressures contribute to continued use despite health risks. Children at Risk Applying relaxers to young girls can cause early puberty, uterine fibroids, infertility, and increased cancer risk. Chemicals penetrate the scalp, enter the bloodstream, and disrupt hormones. Industry Resistance Pushback from salons and manufacturers due to financial interests. Comparison to tobacco and alcohol industries—profit prioritized over health. Solutions & Advice Avoid chemical treatments when possible. If used, protect the entire scalp with petroleum jelly to reduce absorption. Space out relaxer applications (every 8–10 weeks, max 10 minutes for children). Dr. Maclin’s Contributions Launched Bella Nutri supplements (2004 for women, 2008 for men). Advocates internal nutrition for hair and skin health. Website: drmacklin.com and bellabeauproducts.com. Notable Quotes On FDA inaction:“Still to this day, that ban has not occurred… We’re continuously having women going to the next generation of life as a result—next generation cancers.” On cultural pressures:“We’re so into wanting to have a certain look versus wanting to be healthy.” On children’s exposure:“We’ve got to keep chemicals off of little girls’ hair… It’s causing hormone disruption, early puberty, infertility, and increased cancer risk.” On industry resistance:“People care about the green-eyed devil called money… Look at the tobacco industry.” On her mission:“I feel like I’m caring more about someone’s health than they’re caring about their own.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Greg Kwedar and Clint Bentley are the co-writers (and in Greg's case, director) of Sing Sing – a prison drama that tips on its head the entire prison drama genre. This is a film that forefronts humanity and tenderness instead of the violent and savagery that often powers movies set in jail. There are prison dramas we all adore but how many times have we seen a vision of prison that depicts those places as violent pits where society's most dangerous animals stew in their savagery? In Sing Sing – about a group of convicts who stage a play at the Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison near New York – our characters, many of whom are played by real-life graduates of the Rehabilitation Through The Arts programme seen in the movie, are depicted with a rare sensitivity. Whatever their pasts, as this group of would-be thespians build towards the staging of a comedy titled Breakin' The Mummy's Code they're human to viewers in a way cinema rarely affords. It's besides the point to say that the film is already being tipped for Oscar glory – this film and the performances of Colman Domingo and newcomer Clarence "Divine Eye" Maclin in particular, is a phenomenal achievement in itself without awards validation. Can a musical comedy featuring Hamlet and Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger change lives? Actor, playwright, and director Colman Domingo thinks so. In Sing Sing, a new film from A24, Domingo stars in a true story about the power of theater. Inspired by the real-life Rehabilitation through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison, Sing Sing tells the story of Divine G, played by Domingo, imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, who finds purpose by acting in a theater group with other incarcerated men. When a wary outsider joins the group, the men decide to stage their first original comedy. Sing Sing stars an ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors who are alumni of the RTA program, including Clarence "Divine Eye" Maclin and Sean San José. Domingo takes us behind the scenes of the making of Sing Sing. He also shares how he became an actor after a class at Temple University and his own Shakespeare story including an inventive take on Helena from A Midsummer Night's Dream. Domingo is beloved for onscreen portrayals including Civil Rights activist Bayard Rustin in Netlfix's Rustin for which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Other films include Lincoln, Selma, If Beale Street Could Talk, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Zola, and The Color Purple. His breakthrough came as conman Victor Strand on Fear the Walking Dead. He won an Emmy for his performance as Ali on HBO Max's Euphoria. On stage he was nominated for Tony and Olivier awards for his role as Mr. Bones in The Scottsboro Boys. He wrote the book for the Broadway musical Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2024. When it comes to your training and your fueling, you need to think about the bigger picture. For sports such as Brazillian jiu-jitsu, which has a wide range of intensity demands, you need to switch your mindset and fuel your body for your practice. While being strong is a sort of ‘cheat code' in Brazillian jiu-jitsu, it is nothing without the right fuel to back it up. Key Takeaways If You Have Questions About Your Nutrition, You Should: Remember that what you eat today is your fuel for tomorrow Don't believe the hype around trends like fasting and no-carb Work with a coach who understands your goals and can help you achieve them in a sustainable way Nutritional Lessons with Alex Maclin Alex Maclin is a fellow performance nutrition coach, strength training enthusiast, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu player. He is passionate about helping athletically minded folks fuel themselves with the proper nutrition so that they can get more out of their performance. Throughout his health journey, he has coached hundreds of athletes through online training programs for weightlifting, strength, and conditioning, and is here today to share his knowledge with you. Your Training Goes Beyond the Gym When it comes to your training, it does not just exist when you are on the mat or in the gym. What you do around your training, how you eat, recover, hydrate, and think about your training, can also have a huge impact on your ability to accomplish your goals.  Even if you are not competing, if you want to train consistently and give it your all, you have to put some thought, strategy, and planning into what you are doing outside of the gym. This means thinking proactively about what you eat and remembering that what you eat today is fuel for tomorrow.   Optimal Fueling = Optimal Results Training, recovery, and nutrition practices work together as a system to help you achieve your best results. This can get tricky when we see the amount of misinformation and conditioning that we have been exposed to, especially as female athletes.  Even if you are not into Brazillian jiu-jitsu, the fueling practices talked about in this episode will help guide your performance, nutrition, and your own athletic endeavors. When you can understand how to fuel yourself optimally, you can see your optimal performance a lot clearer. What has your experience been with fueling for sports such as Brazillian jiu-jitsu? Share your thoughts with me in the comments on the episode page. This is for the average everyday people like me who just want to train, and they love it, and they want to feel good on the mat.” (6:38) “These foods that you are eating are foods that are going to help you feel better, help you perform better, and give you more energy. That is a really big mindset shift. Not looking at things as just having calories… but actually how this food is going to help you kick some more ass and recover.” (25:24) “You can eat at levels that you need to eat without fasting; you just need to make sure that you are getting the proper amount of calories per day.” (48:56) “What we eat today is for the next day.” (50:50) “Learn concepts of jiu-jitsu rather than just learning all these moves.
