In 2018, the podcast turned Bravo / Netflix series "Dirty John" was ubiquitous - at least in LA, where you couldn't go two blocks without seeing a billboard for the show. This week, the survivor of "Dirty" John Meehan's bloody attack, Terra Newell, talks to host Jane Marie about her experience being interviewed by an LA Times journalist for what she thought was only going to be a print piece in The Times, before watching her family's story explode into something much, much bigger. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

With the new club season, I'm kicking things off with "Dirty Dirty Funk" – a dark neurofunk journey filled with deep bass and raw funk. This drum and bass track is more for listening than for the dance floor, but don't be fooled by its smoother vibe – this is just the beginning! "Dirty Dirty Funk" pulls you into a world of dark, intricate sounds, where funk merges with hard rhythms to create a unique atmosphere. This track serves as an introduction to what's yet to come. We're starting the season with something lighter to get you ready for what I've got in store – much harder and more uncompromising tracks that will really turn up the heat. "Dirty Dirty Funk" is all about how dark, gritty tones meet funk in a perfectly balanced mix that draws you into its world. It's just the first step in what will be a wild and intense musical season. Get ready – this is just the warm-up before the real storm hits. [Spoiler discussion begins at 18:40] Whether you've watched Longlegs or not (and whether you enjoyed it or not), there's a little something for every take during this bonus ep. We think Nicolas Cage, Maika Monroe, Alicia Witt, Kiernan Shipka, & Blair Underwood all bring excellent performances to this 90s detective horror-period piece. There's some unique elements to this flick not found in movies it has been compared to. We round out the ep discussing what movies we'd pair with Longlegs.

Welcome to Hamburg, Iowa, "The Cornerstone of Iowa!" Hamburg is the most southwestern city in Iowa located on the borders of Nebraska to the west and Missouri to the south. The first settlers to the town thought they were settling in Missouri and only discovered the town was in Iowa when a survey was made when Iowa entered the union in 1846. The town was formally laid out in 1857 and was incorporated in 1867. The town is located at the confluence of the Nishnabotna and Missouri Rivers and was often impacted when the Missouri River floods. After the town flooded in 2019, new levees were constructed to protect the town from future flooding. Hamburg is home to the headquarters for Vogel Popcorn. Vogel claims to produced 52% of the popcorn grown in the US. We hope you enjoy our visit to Hamburg!
