MMA Junkie's Nolan King knows some stuff about MMA. And with UFC 278 upon us, we thought he should join the Pittsburgh Combat Sports Podcast for a breakdown. King discusses his rise in the MMA journalism ranks from MMA Today to FloCombat to MMA Junkie, sharing some insights and experiences along the way. After the trip down memory lane, he and 247 Fighting Championships GM Hunter Homistek get to the fights. With Kamaru Usman defending his welterweight title against Leon Edwards, Paulo Costa taking on Luke Rockhold, Jose Aldo returning, and more, there's plenty for them to discuss. And discuss they do. Enjoy the chat as they make fight picks, discuss Turner's Tea, and much, much more.

The Quiggin' Out MMA Podcast returns with easily one of the greatest MMA storytellers in the game today, Duane "Ole Bo" Finley. Finley. Finley's work can be found across multiple platforms, such as FloCombat and MyMMANews, and in his book, In the Cold Distance. Finley is surprised in this episode by his old co-hort and FloCombat go-to guy, Hunter Homistek, who drops in to talk about his travels and knowledge from Ole Bo himself. This episode was a huge deal for me as I consider Duane not only to be one of my idols when it comes to writing, but has become a close friend over the years. And yes, I do almost cry at one point in the episode. That was not for shock value, that was 100% real emotion. Homistek himself has done some amazing work in the last few years outside of MMA and it sounds like it's only a matter of time before they get the gang back together, but this time, on their terms. Both of these men are amazing writers, go-getters, and at the end of the day, great friends. Join us on this journey and I apologize in advance for the buzzing noise, it was taken out as best as possible due to an catastrophic cable failure during the recording of the show. Huge shout-out to my cousin Michael for the work he did to assist. Don't forget to head over to EpicJitsTees.com and pick up a Quiggin' Out MMA Podcast shirt or any of the amazing designs available.

Duane Finley doesn't call himself a journalist despite being senior editor for FloCombat.com and having years of MMA articles published in the likes of Bleacher Report, Sports Illustrated, FanSided and MMA Junkie. His calling is as a storyteller, whether the subject is an unknown or a headliner. He strikes up conversations in airports just to give the gift of attention. Give yourself a gift by listening to how he and his wife took a leap of faith into his career (he'll continue that story in a book launching this fall); his breakdown of the laws of gratitude and attraction; his uncompromising standards as a writer; transcending his own best work; and much more.

This was a good one. James Lynch is an MMA journalist for Sportsnet, MMA Oddsbreaker and FloCombat. He hosts the Parting Shot Podcast and holds the (unofficial) record for most interviews ever conducted in a single week. I did very little research to verify that record, but he does a lot of interviews, so I'm running with it. He's also one of my favorite people in this business. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a fantastic conversation that ranges from Stanley Cup Playoffs and click-bait media to Big Little Lies and The Sopranos. Enjoy!!

This episode was all over the place, but I'm tremendously proud of it. Two somber interviews with some laughs in between for balance. Enjoy!! (4:43) Matt Bessette sheds some light on the frustrations involved with being on the cusp of a UFC call-up. He's at a crossroads that reaches beyond a simple career decision. This is about his life. Somber interview but an important one. Hopefully the precursor to an Octagon debut. (27:47) The debut of Outside The Bubble w/Monica!! In this (likely to become a recurring) segment, I spoke with my roommate who knows little to nothing about the world of MMA to get some predictions for the UFC 205 title fights. The predictions were based on intangible factors that can only be seen by someone who truly lies outside the bubble. So place your bets accordingly!! (40:20) Duane Finley is the Senior Editor for FloCombat. He's also a close friend of the late Josh Samman. I wanted to speak with him about Josh and gain some perspective on the tragedy from someone who knew him so well. This was a powerful one. (53:33) In this week's After Show, I got into everything from Hilary vs. Trump and TV Talk to the Dallas Cowboys and Greg Hardy's MMA debut. Thanks to Captain 30 Pack, Duane Finley, for a great night of fighting and beer! Duane specializes in story telling within the mixed martial arts community. He has written for outlets like Bleacher Report, Sports Illustrated, FanSided, and MMA Junkie before joining FloCombat. But tonight, he found time to sneak out of Room 313 and joined the boys at the round table at Alley's Alehouse for some humorous discussion as we review Dale's Pale Ale and Kona Longboat. Cheers!

Business as usual, and like Bachman Turner Overdrive, Rear Naked Choke Radio is taking care of it. Joe Rizzo (@RearNakedChoke) and Jay Kelly (@JayKellyMMA) discussed the ramifications of the UFC reportedly accepting a bid for $4.2 billion, the return of Georges St. Pierre, Bellator: Dynamite, athletic commissions and the competence of MMA judges. Flocombat.com writer Jeremy Botter reported the alleged sale of the UFC and it's been a buzzing topic of conversation since. The hosts talked how new ownership would affect UFC president Dana White, the fighters, broadcasting partners and those employed by the world's top MMA organization. The biggest MMA star from Canada, who left the sport three years ago with welterweight championship intact, St. Pierre announced on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani that his is ready to return to the cage. The French Canadian stated that he would like to return against middleweight champion Michael Bisping and challenge for the belt. Rizzo and Kelly talked about the 35-year-old's chances against Bisping, the sales for a fight featuring a Canadian and a Englishman, if GSP deserves the bout and other possible opponents. Because they felt they should, Rizzo and Kelly touched on Bellator: Dynamite. The event featured a mix of MMA and kickboxing, with fighters including Michael Chandler, Joe Schilling, Rampage Jackson and more. The hosts spoke about the champion once-and-again, Chander, Schilling's knockout loss against Hisaki Kato, Jackson's questionable decision victory and the shenanigans that seem to always follow around Bellator. While Bellator wasn't in question, the shoddy judging was. Rizzo and Kelly talked about the ongoing problems athletic commissions face, the lack of competent judges and a possible solution for some of their issues.
