Today Heather continues her conversation with Erin Todd from Intuitive Eating for Christian Women about the expression, "Turn to Jesus, not food." While we know that Jesus should be our source for everything, is it helpful or even accurate to say that we can turn to Jesus instead of eating the food we crave? Is this how we treat other decisions surrounding our bodies and what they need (Do we say, "Turn to Jesus, not sleep?")? Today, Heather and Erin continue their conversations to hash out what is helpful to remember about turning to God, and how this expression may sound more like diet culture than the Bible.  If you've ever felt guilt and shame over giving into a craving at night or eating that food you swore to yourself not to eat, and then told yourself you should have turned to "Jesus not food," this episode is for you. Like the Israelites, we occasionally have a tendency to reject God and act on our own free will, rather than depending on Him. However, does God simply abandon us? Pastor Ken explains in today's message how God consistently redirects His people back to the right path. God will always have mercy on the people of Israel because He loves them, even if they turn their backs on Him. Though you may frequently stray from God, He will always love you, and will give you opportunities to return to the path He has for you!

The book of Ezekiel describes how God will perfectly judge Gog for their deeds. We often make decisions in our daily lives, and most of the time, those decisions end up taking us down the wrong path. Pastor Ken explains in today's message how God can guide you in making the correct choices. God will judge you according to the choices you make in life. Because of this truth, you should rely on God, seeking His wisdom and guidance for your life. By doing this, you can be confident of what God thinks of you.

Because of his omnipotence, our God can and will vanquish Satan. In your time of need, God is looking out for you, and will not allow Satan to win the war.

What started as a fix for our family's bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. It's great to have you back, brothers, as we wrap up our simplicity series on food with three simple ways to change your relationship with food for the better. Now food, just like everything else in life, is energy. So, it's all about how you take that energy, absorb it, and allow it to positively influence your energy output.    Food is not your entertainment, brothers. It is not meant to save you from boredom, that would be an unhealthy relationship with food. A healthy relationship with food starts with how you think about it, and from there you'd be wise to create a simple routine for how you consume food. The constraint you show in your routine will add much value to your relationship with food.  Brothers, just like any relationship with other people or your pets or anything else, your relationship with food needs to come from a place of love and gratitude. Love your food the way you love yourself, after all, the food you eat becomes you. Be grateful for what you eat and verbally express your gratitude. If for nothing else, then at least be grateful for the convenience of grocery stores, that you do not have to hunt and gather for your food.    You've all heard the saying, “Time makes the heart grow fonder.” Well, again, the sentiment applies to food as well. By fasting and taking conscious breaks away from food, you will begin to truly appreciate it and your relationship with it will grow ever stronger. So, brothers, reexamine your relationship with food, make it simple, allow your love to flow through, take breaks and fast and meditate, and continue to elevate your alpha.

Welcome back to the show, brothers, as we continue our pursuit of a simple life. Today is all about food and how it both matters and doesn't matter at all. Sounds like a contradiction? Well, that's because it is, and I'm here to help you make sense of it all.  Brothers, you'd do well to remember that everything in life is energy. Our bodies, plants and animals, molecules, inorganic matter, emotions, and thoughts are all energy. Everything is energy, and that is the simplest way of explaining the truth. Now, how we relate to the energy around us begins with our thoughts. Our minds control how we receive, transfer, and experience the energy that surrounds us. The same is true when it comes to food: our relationship with food starts with our thoughts.  No matter what diet you're on, or what the nutritionist says, or what your die-hard vegan sister insists; it is your thoughts about food that will determine your experiences with it. Any diet can be great, and any diet can be detrimental; it all depends on how your thoughts direct the energy received from what you eat.  Brothers, everything is energy, and all energy tells a story. How a cow is bred will determine the taste of the beef, and the growing conditions of a tree will determine how juicy its fruit is. So, keep it simple, relinquish control, and allow the energy to flow through you as you continue on your quest to elevate your alpha.
