Making up his mind to set fire to the city of Lanka, which was the only work left for him to do, and coming out into the open, Hanuman burns the entire city barring the abode of Vibhishana. Astonished to see the city burning, the gods and Gandharvas (celestial musicians) are filled with supreme joy.Recitation: 00:00 - 09:40Translation: 09:43 - 22:10
Ananta, the source of Lord Śiva. Lord Ananta, whose body is completely spiritual, resides at the root of the planet Pātāla. He always lives in the core of Lord Śiva's heart, and He helps him destroy the universe. Ananta instructs Lord Śiva how to destroy the cosmos, and thus He is sometimes called tāmasī, or “one who is in the mode of darkness.” He is the original Deity of material consciousness, and because He attracts all living entities, He is sometimes known as Saṅkarṣaṇa. The entire material world is situated on the hoods of Lord Saṅkarṣaṇa. From His forehead He transmits to Lord Śiva the power to destroy this material world. Because Lord Saṅkarṣaṇa is an expansion of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, many devotees offer Him prayers, and in the planetary system of Pātāla, all the suras, asuras, Gandharvas, Vidyādharas and learned sages offer Him their respectful obeisances. The Lord talks with them in a sweet voice. His bodily construction is completely spiritual and very, very beautiful. Anyone who hears about Him from a proper spiritual master becomes free from all material conceptions of life. The entire material energy is working according to the plans of Anantadeva. Therefore we should regard Him as the root cause of the material creation. There is no end to His strength, and no one can fully describe Him, even with countless mouths. Therefore He is called Ananta (unlimited). Being very merciful toward all living entities, He has exhibited His spiritual body. Support the show

The sages said, “O Sūta, Sūta, be long-lived. Thou art a blessed devotee of Śiva. The greatness of Śiva's phallic image in according excellent benefit has been well explained by you. Now speak about the greatness of the earthen phallic image of Śiva which is far superior to all others.” Sūta said, “O sages, all of you please listen with great devotion and respect. Now I am going to speak on the greatness of the earthly phallic image of Śiva. The earthly phallic image of Śiva is the most excellent of all such images of Śiva. Many brāhmāṇas have achieved great things by worshipping it. O brāhmāṇas, Hari, Brahmā, Prajāpati and other sages have attained all they desired by worshipping this earthly phallic image. Yogis are Realized Souls. Yoga, according to Patanjali, is the ‘Cessation of Modification of Chitta' Yoga has, Chittavrutthi Nirodhithaha-Patanjali Yoga Sutra. The control and regulations of the mind and through it, The Consciousness is the goal of Yoga. There is another earlier system of Yoga. This is called Vaasi Yoga where, by breath control, Consciousness is directly controlled. This was the first system by Lord Shiva and His disciple Patanjali developed a relatively easy system Asthtanga Yoga. Shiva was the first to practice Vaasi Yoga and He is called the Adi Yogi, the First Yogi. If one repeats Vaasi it becomes Siva. The system of Patanjali was practised widely. And we have Siddhas who transcend time and apart from Shiva, the early one was Thirumoolar, a Tamil Siddha, who had written a Sastra Thirumandhiram in Tamil. Thirumoolar is dated around 3000BC. What do the Vedas say of Yoga? To my knowledge, there is no reference to Yoga in the Vedas, except a description of a Yogi in the Rig Veda, which is dated around 5000 years ago. Here is the Kesin Mantra of the Rig Veda which describes a Yogi HYMN CXXXVI. Kesins. 1. HE with the long loose locks supports Agni, and moisture, heaven, and earth: He is all sky to look upon: he with long hair is called this light. 2 The Munis, girdled with the wind, wear garments soiled of yellow hue. They, following the wind's swift course go where the Gods have gone before. 3 Transported with our Munihood we have pressed on into the winds: You therefore, mortal men. behold our natural bodies and no more. 4 The Muni, made associate in the holy work of every God, Looking upon all varied forms flies through the region of the air. 5 The Steed of Vāta, Vāyu's friend, the Muni, by the Gods impelled, In both the oceans hath his home, in eastern and in western sea. 6 Treading the path of sylvan beasts, Gandharvas, and Apsarases, He with long locks, who knows the wish, is a sweet most delightful friend 7 Vāyu hath churned for him: for him he poundeth things most hard to bend, When he with long loose locks hath drunk, with Rudra, water from the cup. Now Vrigu's son Chyavana had a son named Sukanya and Sukanya begat in turn Pramati, and Pramati had a son whom he called Ruru. Not many years after Ruru was born it happened that Menaka, one of the dancing girls in the Court of the god Indra, fell in love with Visvavasu the King of the Gandharvas. What happens when sacrifice is the only outcome of love.
Worshiping the most powerful demigod Sūrya, the Gandharvas sing in front of him, the Apsarās dance before the chariot, the Niśācaras follow the chariot, the Pannagas decorate the chariot, the Yakṣas guard the chariot, and the saints called the Vālikhilyas surround the sun-god and offer prayers. The seven groups of fourteen associates arrange the proper times for regular snow, heat and rain throughout the universe.

From the breath of Brahman arose Brahma, from his head arose Shiva, dressed in Elephant skin with Pinaka. I pray to Thrimurthi for long life. I offer this sacrifice to thee. From the Chest arose Agni, the fire in us all. May he release us from death's hangman. I offer this sacrifice to thee. From his efflugence arose The Golden Sun. May he bless us with a long life. I offer this sacrifice to thee. O Goddess Laksmi, the repository of all knowledge originating from Brahman, you are also known as Sri, Laksmi, Aubala, Ambika, Gam and Indrasena. May the Goddess grant us long life. I offer this sacrifice to The Universal Mother, Dakshayani, and all the lineage of all the gods and divine being. May they all bless us with a long life. I offer this sacrifice to the Ganas, who remove all obstacles towards a long life. May our projeny too benefit. Brahman alone exists and from whom arose Vasus, Rudras, Adityas, Maruts, Sadhyas, Rbhus, Yksas, Gandharvas, Pitrs, Bhrgus, Nagas, Angirases for the welfare of a people in need. I offer this sacrifice and pray for the blessing of a long life. O Lord Vishnu, I offer my incessant chanting of mantras. Bless us with a long life filled with happiness. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti
In modern so-called scientific society the idea is very prevalent that there is no life on other planets but that only on this earth do living entities with intelligence and scientific knowledge exist. The Vedic literatures, however, do not accept this foolish theory. The followers of Vedic wisdom are fully aware of various planets inhabited by varieties of living entities such as the demigods, the sages, the Pitās, the Gandharvas, the Pannagas, the Kinnaras, the Cāraṇas, the Siddhas and the Apsarās.

Episode 41 - This one covers Duryodhana reaction to the humiliation of being captured by the Gandharvas and then released by the valor of his hated cousins the Pandavas. Unable to face his clan after the ignominious defeat, the prince resolves to sit down and starve himself to death. This decision sets off alarm bells in Hell, where the Daityas and Danavas have big plans for Duryodhana. They summon a genie and have her deliver Duryodhana to them, and they tell him about the cosmic nature of this conflict, that powerful Asuras have already taken their places for the great war, and only he can see it through to victory.Duryodhana returns, his old attitude back, and he leads his brothers back to Hastinapur, as if they had just conquered half the world. But the boy's ego was a fragile thing, and when Bhisma scolds him, he needs something to cheer him up. Karna first proposes another Rajasuya, but that is limited to one per family, so they must settle for the Vaishnava ritual, which involves a golden plough, which Duryodhana would use to plow a sacred enclosure. The episode ends with Duryodhana once again feeling bad about himself, and Karna going to ever greater lengths to keep his patron happy. This time he swears to never wash his feet again until Arjun is dead! This will probably contribute to some of the trouble he has later one while in command of the Kaurava forces!
