When Knut and I started Panic with Friends at the beginning of the pandemic, it was just that – panicking with a few friends on what was happening in the market. This episode considers PEM/PESE why is it so difficult to understand, manage and avoid? I discuss what PEM/PESE is and how is triggered and what that means to daily life. I have spoken with many people who find they struggle to manage PEM as they can't understand what it is and what it does to the body. I have struggled with this myself as it seems to be able to occur with no reason. PEM is triggered from exceeding the energy envelope which can be due to physical, emotional or mental use of energy. I find this makes it a taskmaster, working out what your personal triggers are, the delay in symptom exacerbation can make it confusing to work out at what point PEM was triggered. I discuss journalling, to identify triggers and using pacing, monitoring symptoms, exacerbation of symptoms can be identified using this method and could be a tool to help avoid PEM. Il semble conscient mais pas cohérent. On ne comprend pas très bien ce qu'il a. Quand il l'examine, le médecin va découvrir que l'enfant est diabétique. Il va faire en sorte que son taux de glycémie remonte, l'enfant reprend des forces mais soudain, la prise en charge de l'enfant prend un tour plus complexe. Et le docteur Lecarme va devoir faire attention à chaque détail pour réussir à aider le garçon.

Do you experience Post-Exertional Malaise? I have for a number of years now, and it can be utterly debilitating. But, like the term “brain fog”, I know what PEM means, what it feels like, subjectively, but I didn't know all that much about what we actually mean when we talk about PEM. What's actually happening inside our bodies when we experience these exacerbation of symptoms hours or days after exerting ourselves? These are questions I've been pondering for a while, so I'm delighted to be joined for this episode by Todd Davenport, a Professor at the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of the Pacific in California in the US. The prospect of the USA, China and Russia simultaneously struggling likely means fewer conflict resolutions, longer downturns and higher prices.
