In this episode Bridget talks about the role hockey played in her life and her health journey. Growing up in a family that was very involved in hockey, the love came naturally. Bridget talked about her childhood and what it was like being the baby of five children in the family. She was born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area but eventually moved to Alberta. Her passion for hockey is evident throughout her story as she always played on a school team and even went to Switzerland for a year to play on a team! Bridget discussed her love for learning and her education journey. She has a Masters Degree in Divinity from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from the University of Waterloo, then continued to Mount Royal University to become a Licensed Funeral Director in Alberta. Later in her life she became very ill. She was unable to work and could hardly get out of bed. The only thing that she was able to do was to assistant coach hockey in Cochrane for the female team (my team). After a lot of pain and talking to many health professionals she found out that she had a rare type of cancer. Bridget explains the challenges but also the great things that have come from all her health struggles. Bridget also has so much love and compassion for those who are grieving as she has grieved many losses herself in her lift. She lost four family members very close to each other and experienced different types of grief with the loss of each of them. Her passion now is to share the life story of many as her role as a Funeral Celebrant and help others navigate through this difficult grievance time.  Throughout our conversation Bridget talks about her love for hockey, her healing process after her cancer, advice on how to deal with grief and so much more. If you want to get in touch with Bridget or learn more about her you can contact her on Facebook @ Bridget Halfyard or her website https://www.bridgethalfyard.com/ .  Connect with me on Instagram, Facebook, and TIK TOk If you have a story you would like to share with the world!Sending love and joy your way!Selina Novello

Blade Runner 2049 fixes some things about the original 1982 film. This is exactly why Andrew is happy and why Kurt is pissed off. Also, is it basically a remake in disguise? The boys dissect. Up next, what if The Coen Brothers and Quentin Tarantino were married and their child was a gore hound? You’d have S. Craig Zahler and Brawl in Cell Block 99 would be his sophomore effort. Kurt is back from Sitges and we get a little taste of that experience at the beginning of the show. Towards the end of the episode, Andrew has been turning off his brain with mostly junk cinema while Kurt saw his favorite film of the year. Thanks for dropping by for another edition of The RowThree Cinecast; inching ever closer to the big Quincentenary episode. These week we play it fast and loose, as does director Doug Liman tend to do with the subject of this week’s main topic, American Made. It ain’t perfect or perhaps even all that memorable, but it sure is a fun way to spend a rainy fall afternoon. Not much time to get to anything else but the boys do each have a pair for The Watch List – well, Andrew has a “Listen List” this week with a new podcast mention. Kurt visits a couple of Cinecast favorites with David Mamet and Denis Villeneuve. Andrew visits one of the six, yes six(!), films of the year to feature a John Denver song in Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire. It’s not a whole lot to go on, but we certainly get some mileage out of it. Scheduling lately has been rough as summer winds down and school is starting and film festivals and then of course hurricanes. But we managed to pull something together with the help of our friend Darren Aronofsky and his mother! The aforementioned hurricanes actually help to facilitate a trip through TIFF that otherwise wasn’t going to happen; so there’re lots of titles there to get through from Bruckner to Zahler. Andrew has been playing catch-up on some bullshit titles of the last year or so as well as going back to earlier Fincher as refresher. Lastly, Twin Peaks Season 3 The Return has wrapped up and Kurt has a number of things to discuss about that little slice of mayhem. Lots to dig into this week folks, and we’re starting with the book of Genesis. So stick this in your ear and settle in. TwitchFilm writer and Cinecast co-host Kurt Halfyard hangs out with us for this bonus episode to discuss the critically acclaimed AMC show Breaking Bad.   SPOILERS!  We give away major plot points throughout this episode. We first talk about the series as a whole, including our first impressions, but the majority of the conversation is spent on our feelings about the Season 4 Finale.  There are definitely criticisms about the plausibility and logic behind Walt's actions that are brought up.  It is safe to say that you should be all caught up with the show before listening to this.  Stay tuned early next week for an upcoming lost DCPC episode (Ep. 15) in which we talk about our all-time favorite movies.  Happy holidays from us!Our next official episode about our Favorite Films of 2011 won't drop until the 2nd week of January.  Until next time, please send us your suggestions as well as any comments about BREAKING BAD or any show we’ve discussed or will discuss on a future episode. Drop us a line if you’re a movie blogger/podcaster and would like a guest spot on the show to talk about a filmmaker whose work you admire (or despise). TwitchFilm writer and Cinecast co-host Kurt Halfyard returns to the show to discuss the very divisive 90s indie filmmaker Hal Hartley.  We dissect his career as a whole, since most of his films are similar. The three of us focus at first on his early work with many claim to be Hartley's best film, TRUST, along with his award-winning epic, HENRY FOOL.  In addition, Kurt reviews Fincher's THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, Jim expresses some reservation about WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, while Patrick is pleasantly surprised by THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU.  This is the first time in a long time that we both disagree on a director's style, so expect very different opinions all-around.  Stay tuned early next week for an upcoming bonus episode that we also recorded with Kurt.  Our next official episode about our Favorite Films of 2011 won't drop until the 2nd week of January, but don't fret.  We have two episodes on the way this coming week, one of which is a bonus episode, and the other is the misplaced Episode 15, in which we talked about our favorite films of all time. Until next time, please send us your suggestions as well as any comments about Argento or any director we’ve discussed or will discuss on a future episode. Drop us a line if you’re a movie blogger/podcaster and would like a guest spot on the show to talk about a filmmaker whose work you admire (or despise). Guest Kurt Halfyard from RowThree.com and Twitchfilm.com joins us to discuss prolific British filmmaker Michael Winterbottom.  We all agree on Winterbottom's triumphantly energetic 24 Hour Party People but all three of us have different opinions on Code 46.  We also have a very lengthy deconstruction of the majority of his filmography (although he's almost too prolific to where it's hard to see everything or keep up).  There are a couple of brief in-house items and we elaborate on a couple other things we've watched this week including Ghostbusters II, The Swell Season documentary, and The Change-Up!  Any thoughts on this episode, shoot 'em our way.  And please be sure to visit our website so you can enter our $30 Amazon Gift Card contest.  Entries are due by August 25th:  directorsclubpodcast.com
